After Being Targeted By A Younger, Obsessive Tycoon, Mei Qiang Was In A Terrible Predicament - Chapter 3
The tedious gathering finally came to an end. The person he had hoped to see never arrived, and every second spent with that crowd of drunken, hollow socialites felt like torture.
Qi Xiaolin sat in his car, feeling entirely listless. He dialed the number at the very bottom of his call log. He waited for a long time; the call was on the verge of disconnecting automatically before the other party finally picked up.
Yan Qingming’s voice was indifferent as he answered, “Hello?”
Upon hearing his voice, Qi Xiaolin sneered. “I have not been home for over half a month, yet you have not called me once. I told you to come to my birthday banquet tonight, and you stood me up. Yan Qingming, are you looking for a beating again?”
Yan Qingming was long accustomed to such threats. He replied coolly, “One of the children in my class was admitted to the hospital, so I am here staying with him. I could not get away.”
Qi Xiaolin asked, “How old is this child?”
There was a moment of hesitation on the other end before a slow, deliberate reply came: “Over two hundred months old.”
Over two hundred months old? A giant baby?
The response infuriated Qi Xiaolin. “Get your ass home right now! If I do not see you within an hour, I will make sure you do not live to see the sun rise tomorrow!”
He slammed the phone down in a rage and drove toward the apartment where Yan Qingming lived.
Yan Qingming watched the disconnected phone, sighed helplessly, and stood up to leave the hospital. As soon as the person lying in the hospital bed saw him getting ready to leave, he hurriedly tried to stop him. “Are you really such an irresponsible teacher? I am still hospitalized!”
Yan Qingming turned around to look at the giant baby behind him, saying, “Young Master Jin, I do not think I am particularly responsible for the fact that you slipped on the stairs after school, resulting in a split that caused a muscle tear.”
“You should consider this a blessing in disguise; you could never manage the splits before, and now you have achieved it in an instant.”
He worked as a Taekwondo instructor in a small dojo tucked away in a back alley of the city. He had never imagined that a young master from a wealthy family like the Jin clan would go to such a run-down area to learn Taekwondo. He had been exhausted from working for half a month; not only had he not received a cent of his salary, but he had actually lost money. He found these troublesome little brats extremely irritating.
Jin Yu wore a shameless expression as he said, “I do not care. I got injured at your place, so you have to take responsibility!”
Yan Qingming replied, “I have two hundred yuan in my pocket. You can take it all.”
Jin Yu was stunned. He stared at him in disbelief and said, “Who are you trying to fool? Your outfit must cost six figures, and your belt alone is worth tens of thousands. You only have two hundred yuan in your pocket?”
Yan Qingming did not want to waste any more time. He made a move to unbuckle his belt. “The belt is valuable. You can have the belt.”
Jin Yu waved his hands hurriedly. “No, thank you!”
Although he was attracted to Yan Qingming and had ulterior motives, he had not yet reached the point of being a pervert who collected other people’s belts.
Yan Qingming stopped and asked, “Then what do you want?”
Jin Yu remembered the globally limited-edition Aston Martin Valhalla that Yan Qingming drove and said, “Once I am discharged, you take me for a ride, and I will not hold this against you.”
That car was truly magnificent. Being able to touch a supercar that his own brother never let him near, while also spending time up close with Yan Qingming, would be killing two birds with one stone.
Yan Qingming nodded. “No problem.”
After all, that car was given to him by Qi Xiaolin anyway.
After dealing with Jin Yu, he hurried toward the exit of the hospital, unaware that back home, a storm was already brewing.
