After Being Reborn, My Ex-Girlfriend Became Obsessed - Chapter 100
Because of her sudden visit, An Yu was pleasantly surprised, her eyes filled with warmth as she looked at her.
Lin Duxi didn’t know why, but her body suddenly went limp, and she sank straight into An Yu’s embrace.
An Yu wrapped her arms around her, guiding Lin Duxi to sit down together in the chair.
“Teacher Lin, you’re actually this shy?” An Yu teased, and then Lin Duxi deliberately tickled the soft flesh at her waist. She couldn’t help but laugh.
Lin Duxi’s cheeks flushed. She lifted her head and glared at her with her eyes, but to An Yu, it looked like a little kitten stretching out its paws, and for a moment, she couldn’t suppress the smile in her eyes.
Lin Duxi’s face burned, and An Yu’s gaze acted like a catalyst. Suddenly, she pressed her lips against An Yu’s.
The air around them seemed to freeze, a tender, lingering warmth spreading.
After some playful struggle, both Lin Duxi and An Yu were lightly sweating, and they paused.
Lin Duxi panted softly, her eyes misty, hair slightly disheveled, looking gentle yet alluring, dazzling enough to make An Yu blush.
Lin Duxi curved her lips slightly, finally regaining some control. She leaned forward, her lips stopping just a few centimeters from An Yu’s ear.
The warm breath brushed against An Yu’s fair skin, instantly making her feel a rush of heat. Lin Duxi’s lips curved, silently watching the faint blush spread across An Yu’s skin in a few seconds.
Her lips parted slightly, and she softly spoke a few words.
“Do you like it when I do this, sister?”
An Yu froze, the slightly hoarse voice piercing her ear like an electric current through her bloodstream, sending shivers through her.
She had heard Lin Duxi speak like this before, but those were said in moments of passion. Now, in this quiet setting, she could only remain stunned, finally cupping her burning cheeks.
An Yu felt like she had ripened completely; if it were tangible, steam would probably be rising from the top of her head.
Lin Duxi stopped teasing her, standing up to straighten her disheveled clothes.
The sudden chill washed away the heat in the room. An Yu held her cheeks, calming her racing heartbeat.
She looked up at the person standing across from her, eyes full of laughter.
“My clothes are all messed up because of you,” An Yu said in mock shock, but her eyes were still as gentle as ever.
Lin Duxi glanced at her properly dressed outfit, only the collar slightly askew, then looked back at An Yu. Her eyes showed no hint of awkwardness, only unrestrained affection.
Lin Duxi sighed, helping straighten the collar, and the next second, she was hugged by An Yu.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Duxi asked.
An Yu shook her head, holding Lin Duxi silently. Lin Duxi, understanding, didn’t ask further.
Lin Duxi had work the next day and had booked a flight for the evening. They both knew they would soon be apart. These past few days together had felt like a dream, and neither wanted to break the remaining bliss with words.
Thinking of the upcoming separation, Lin Duxi felt a little sad.
They hugged for a while until An Yu’s phone rang, reminding her it was time for makeup.
Lin Duxi stood up: “Go do your makeup quickly; we don’t want to delay filming.”
An Yu followed her, looking a little absent-minded as she walked to the door. She suddenly remembered something, turned around, and met Lin Duxi’s suddenly brightened gaze.
“My scenes aren’t many this afternoon. Wait for me,” she said.
Lin Duxi smiled faintly and nodded.
After An Yu left, Lin Duxi stayed in her resting room alone, taking a few photos to post on Weibo later. Then she sat on An Yu’s chair, lost in thought.
She checked her phone and, as expected, found that An Yu and she had trended on Weibo, with a red “exploding” icon next to their names.
Lin Duxi smiled; her possessive satisfaction was fulfilled. She closed her phone, still thinking about what had just happened.
The past two days with An Yu suggested that the system posed little threat to them.
But “better safe than sorry.” Just thinking that that hated entity was still in An Yu’s mind made it impossible to ignore.
The best approach now was to ensure that An Yu occupied the central importance in her life. The more significant An Yu’s presence, the less energy the system could command. As for Pei Lu, he couldn’t turn the tables; his crimes would keep him imprisoned for life. Now, they just needed to wait for the system to act.
Still, Lin Duxi couldn’t help feeling worried. Honestly, she didn’t want to lose An Yu again and often found herself wishing An Yu could stay with her forever, under her care.
The fear of losing An Yu again was unbearable.
Making their relationship public was currently the best approach. It could simultaneously satisfy her obsessive possessiveness. Yesterday, seeing netizens speculate about An Yu being her girlfriend, she had restrained her emotions. An Yu probably noticed her behavior but she feared affecting An Yu’s career, so it had to be semi-public.
Lin Duxi felt a bit down, pondering this for hours until Ji Qi called.
“Lin Duxi, check the trending searches!”
Lin Duxi, confused, did as told and opened Weibo. Her pupils dilated in shock.
[@An Yu: Yes, she is my girlfriend. @Lin Duxi]
Everything around Lin Duxi seemed to fade except this line of text reflecting in her eyes.
The room was silent. All she could hear was her pounding heart and boiling blood.
The door creaked open, and An Yu entered, wearing casual clothes and carrying two drinks. She saw Lin Duxi staring at her phone, stunned, and smiled.
“Already discovered so quickly? I was planning to tell you myself.”
Lin Duxi lifted her eyes, the shattered light in her gaze rippling, the corners of her eyes slightly red.
An Yu was taken aback, hurried over, set down the drinks, crouched, and looked her in the eyes, gently wiping away the tears.
“What’s wrong?” An Yu asked, worried.
Lin Duxi’s heart softened completely. She leaned in and hugged An Yu.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Her voice hoarse, slightly scolding. It had made her upset all afternoon.
Hearing her voice, An Yu exhaled in relief, patting Lin Duxi’s back, explaining half-heartedly:
“I wanted to do it earlier. I planned to tell you at noon, but after the kiss, my brain went blank.”
Lin Duxi bit her lip, burying herself in An Yu’s neck, her long hair resting on her shoulder.
“Don’t say that,” she murmured.
An Yu laughed softly.
“Enough talking, let’s go eat.”
An Yu stood up, interlocking her right hand with Lin Duxi’s fingers.
Just as they were about to leave, Lin Duxi remembered something, quickly released her hand, typed on her phone, then set it down and took An Yu’s hand again.
“Let’s go.”
The staff outside the resting room watched silently as the two left hand-in-hand, and the news spread like wildfire online.
Within half an hour of An Yu posting on Weibo, Lin Duxi posted too:
[@Lin Duxi: Yep, girlfriend @An Yu]
The whole internet was shocked. Fans of their CP (couple pairing) rejoiced. The loyal fans watched as the couple openly acknowledged each other, maintaining order in the comments.
[@Xie An’an: Finally public! My CP dreams have come true!]
Xie An’an was also shipping them—what a dedicated fan!
[Gift a million to Xie An’an’s head!]
[Yeah, how did you know our CP went public?]
[Wow, a roller coaster of emotions in just one day! Worth it!]
[Ahhh, mom, your daughter’s ship has sailed!]
[Hehe, so sweet, so sweet, so sweet!]
Meanwhile, An Yu and Lin Duxi were sitting in a car on the way to a restaurant, unaware of the online frenzy.
An Yu thought of staying here for months and not seeing Lin Duxi for a long time. She felt a touch of loneliness even before their separation.
She smiled, trying to calm her thoughts, when a familiar sensation suddenly filled her mind. She froze.
The system, silent for so long, finally made a move. Previously, it had stayed dormant to protect itself, letting its energy drain continuously. Now, it had reached a point that could not be ignored.
“An Yu! What did you do!” The system detected the change instantly. But before it could speak, its energy began flowing away uncontrollably.
An Yu raised an eyebrow: “You finally woke up.”
The system panicked, its survival instincts kicking in, trying to escape.
An Yu immediately felt a sharp pain deep in her mind, groaning as cold sweat formed on her forehead.
Lin Duxi hurriedly turned to support her shoulders. “An Yu, An Yu, what’s wrong?”
An Yu exhaled roughly: “I’m fine.” She endured the pain and mocked the system.
“System, are you trying to run? Didn’t you say you’d follow me forever if the mission failed? Why are you leaving now?”
The system was successfully provoked. It wanted to punish her but realized it lacked the energy. Reluctantly, it abandoned the attempt. The energy loss left it unable to focus, and it detected a faint signal from a distant location.
“Hmph! When I regain my energy, you’ll be the first I destroy!”
It sneered, then stripped its remaining energy from An Yu ruthlessly.
Suddenly, An Yu’s mind felt like it exploded, a piercing pain shot through her body, and she collapsed into Lin Duxi’s arms.
Lin Duxi’s eyes turned red, holding her trembling body helplessly, watching her pale face.
“An Yu, An Yu…” She didn’t know what had happened. Surely, An Yu had been negotiating with the system; she could feel the energy waves but could do nothing.
Tears fell from the corners of her eyes, landing coolly on An Yu’s cheeks.
An Yu slowly opened her eyes and saw the shattered gaze of Lin Duxi, who breathed heavily, reaching out to wipe her tears.
“Don’t cry. I’m fine. It’s always been here with me. I just felt uncomfortable when it suddenly left. Rest a while, and I’ll be fine.”
“An Yu, don’t say anything more. Rest first; we’re almost at the hospital,” Lin Duxi said, her breath unsteady, signaling the driver to head there.
An Yu wanted to speak more, but Lin Duxi quickly covered her mouth, worry flooding her eyes. An Yu obediently closed her lips.
By the time the car reached the hospital, An Yu had mostly recovered and could move on her own. She tried to get up, but Lin Duxi firmly held her arm, supporting her as they got out.
Just as they stepped out, Lin Duxi’s phone rang. She frowned, about to hang up, but paused when she saw the caller. She put it on speaker and answered.
“Miss, Pei Lu has gone mad.”
