After Becoming the Scummy Alpha in a Substitute Romance - Chapter 114
She instinctively took a step back, but it was already too late.
Jian Ya held a sharp metal shard in her hand, something she had secretly retrieved from beneath the desk at some point. The edges gleamed coldly.
Her eyes were filled with violent rage. Seeing Jian Du treat her like a threat the moment she realized who she was only fueled her fury and made her feel deeply insulted.
They were supposed to be family.
Why had Jian Du always been so cold to her?
And yet, for that outsider, Jian Du could drop everything and personally bring her candy.
She could leave her busy work schedule just to deliver a sugar sculpture?
Jian Ya glanced at the sugar figure in her left hand. It felt like a cruel joke. With her right hand, she thrust the sharp metal shard toward Jian Du’s chest without hesitation.
Jian Du had learned self-defense since her teenage years.
She reacted quickly to the sudden attack, instinctively striking at Jian Ya’s wrist.
But because they had been standing so close and Jian Du had been completely unguarded, even though she managed to alter the trajectory of the weapon, it still pierced into her right side.
Blood soaked her shirt almost instantly.
A muffled groan escaped her lips. With sharp eyes, Jian Du quickly retreated several steps.
Jian Ya looked as if she wanted to continue the assault, but just as she stepped forward, her head was hit by a sudden wave of pain.
Her face twisted with agony, and she froze in place, unable to move.
Seizing the opportunity, Jian Du dashed toward the door and flung it open.
The bodyguards stationed outside were startled when they saw her condition.
One of them immediately stepped forward to shield Jian Du, staying alert in case Jian Ya tried to follow. The other quickly ran to summon the family doctor.
In an instant, chaos erupted throughout the entire estate.
Jian Du was rushed into a sterile medical room, where doctors began treating the wound urgently.
Everyone moved quickly and efficiently. Some people immediately informed Fu Qingrong. Jévanie arrived at the scene as soon as she could, her face pale and filled with worry as she looked at Jian Ya.
Jian Ya stood frozen, her expression blank. She slowly raised her right hand.
She could still feel it—the moment the metal shard had pierced into Jian Du’s body.
This was the hand she had used.
It was now stained with Jian Du’s blood, the bright red color stabbing at her nerves.
How could this have happened?
Jian Ya was gripped by horror.
Just as the original personality had driven the weapon into Jian Du and was about to pull it out for another stab, Jian Ya had suddenly regained control of her body.
She saw the wound. She saw her sister bleeding.
Her pupils trembled.
She had distanced herself from Shen Shuyi, but she had never stopped the rest of the Jian family from staying close.
According to the original book, the first version of the personality, though violent and unstable, had never harmed her own family.
She assumed that made them safe.
She never imagined that this version of the original personality would go so far—would become so crazed as to stab her own sister.
That strike had been full force, deadly intent.
Jian Ya’s body trembled uncontrollably.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry…”
She whispered in a daze, completely lost.
When Jévanie entered the room, this was what she saw.
She immediately realized the personality had switched again.
Even she, someone who had witnessed countless psychological breakdowns, could hardly stay composed at this moment.
“Can I go downstairs?” Jian Ya asked, her voice trembling, filled with uncertainty.
Jévanie looked at her for a long time before nodding gently.
Jian Ya’s steps were unsteady as she made her way downstairs toward the courtyard.
The sterile medical room was located on the far side of the courtyard.
Standing in the open air, a cold breeze passed by. Jian Ya shivered.
She stared in the direction of the medical room. Her eyes trembled, but she didn’t dare take even one step closer.
Suddenly, the screech of car brakes echoed from the gate.
Fu Qingrong had returned. She had been shopping when she got the urgent call from the house and had immediately rushed home.
On the way, she had already been told everything.
The moment she heard the news, she had been overwhelmed by shock and fury. No matter what the cause—whether a disorder or not—she simply could not believe or accept that Jian Ya would actually harm her own sister.
Now, seeing Jian Ya standing there in the courtyard, Fu Qingrong’s anger exploded. She marched forward and slapped Jian Ya hard across the face.
Jian Ya didn’t flinch or dodge.
The blow landed squarely. Her left cheek burned with pain, and red swelling appeared almost instantly on her pale skin.
Jian Ya said nothing.
Fu Qingrong’s eyes filled with tears.
She didn’t speak either. Her gaze locked onto Jian Ya’s, filled with fury, disappointment, and pain.
“Kneel,” Fu Qingrong finally said in a low, trembling voice.
Jian Ya knelt.
The sharp gravel beneath her knees dug in painfully, but she didn’t seem to feel it at all.
Fu Qingrong gave her one last look before turning and walking toward the family ward.
Jian Ya remained kneeling on the ground, completely still, from afternoon until nightfall.
The sky gradually darkened, and the air turned cool.
In the courtyard, people came and went in a hurry, but Jian Ya stayed exactly where she was, unmoving.
It was late at night when the gates of the estate opened. Wei Li, who had flown urgently from China after receiving the news, finally arrived.
She had always worked closely with Jian Du and had only recently started assisting Jian Ya. In truth, her bond with Jian Du was much deeper.
When she first heard that Jian Du had been hurt by Jian Ya’s dangerous personality, Wei Li felt both angry and worried. But when she arrived and saw Jian Ya’s thin figure kneeling alone in the courtyard, no one knew for how long, her heart softened.
The weather was chilly, and under the moonlight, Jian Ya’s face looked even paler.
Seeing this scene, Wei Li felt a wave of sorrow and compassion.
She walked over and called softly, “Miss Jian.”
Jian Ya slowly lifted her head. Her movements were stiff, and her eyes gradually began to focus on Wei Li.
That look made Wei Li’s heart ache. She said gently, “Please get up. President Fu has asked you to return to your room and rest.”
Jian Ya opened her mouth, her voice hoarse. “Sister…”
Wei Li understood her meaning and replied, “President Jian is alright. There was no internal injury. The wound was cleaned, and she received a tetanus shot. It’s not serious.”
Jian Ya nodded slightly.
She tried to get up, but her legs had gone numb from kneeling too long. The moment she stood, her body swayed violently and nearly collapsed.
Wei Li quickly stepped forward to support her.
“I’m fine,” Jian Ya said.
She steadied herself and walked toward the house.
Wei Li noticed that Jian Ya’s knees were stained with blood.
She closed her eyes briefly, then followed behind.
After returning to her room, Jian Ya sat silently at the edge of the bed, not moving at all.
Wei Li called the family doctor to treat her wounds. Jian Ya did not resist, letting them do as they pleased, her expression blank.
Wei Li helped her put on a coat. Looking at the silent Jian Ya, a sense of unease grew in her heart.
“Miss Jian?” she called gently.
Finally, Jian Ya looked up at her.
“I need you to do one more thing for me,” Jian Ya said.
Wei Li immediately became serious and pushed down her worry. “Please tell me.”
Jian Ya spoke in a low voice, slowly explaining her decision and her thoughts.
At first, Wei Li listened quietly. But as she continued, Wei Li’s eyes gradually widened in shock and disbelief.
“Miss Jian…” she said, her voice tense.
“Just do as I said,” Jian Ya replied, sounding exhausted.
It was better to experience short-term pain than to suffer endlessly. In this lifetime, she only wanted Shen Shuyi to be safe and healthy. She believed that with Tang Yin by her side, Shen Shuyi would be much happier than living in constant fear with her.
As for herself…
Jian Ya placed a hand over her heart. The pain had lasted so long, she had become used to it.
“Please go,” she said again when Wei Li didn’t move.
“Miss Jian…”
Jian Ya didn’t respond. She turned and lay down on her side, her gaze empty and unfocused.
Wei Li looked at her and felt a dull ache in her chest.
“I’ll take care of it as soon as I finish things here,” she said softly.
“Alright,” Jian Ya replied.
“Get some rest.”
After leaving those words, Wei Li stepped out of the room.
Jian Ya remained in the same position. Tears slid silently from the corners of her eyes and soaked into the blanket.
So, this world, which had never truly belonged to her, really had no place for her after all.
The night passed quietly.
The next morning, when Jian Ya got up, her face was still pale.
As she walked, it felt as if her feet couldn’t touch solid ground.
She went downstairs and found Jévanie. “I want to go out for a walk. Is that okay?”
She couldn’t stay here any longer. She couldn’t remain by her family’s side.
She didn’t want to give the original self another chance to hurt the people around her.

Me duele…….. No soporto verla sufrir así, pero a la vez me gusta como están pasando las cosas….. Es algo conflictiva, una contradicción, pero en éste momento estoy llorando, es de madrugada y no he descansado bien las últimas semanas, así que es algo razonable.
