After Becoming Pregnant With The Empress Cat's Cub - Chapter 33.2
Ju Rin nodded.
Lan Ye waved at the little orange cat. “Hello there~”
Then she looked at Rin. “And what is its relationship to you?”
Ju Rin: “My sister.”
Lan Ye had an ‘I knew it’ look on her face! This little orange cat looked only a few months old, there was no way it could be an older sister.
“Hi, Cat Sister~” Lan Ye greeted it again before asking Rin, “Does she have a name?”
She just remembered, since she was a Princess Meow, she should have a name. She had forgotten to ask about the Cat Sister from earlier.
Ju Rin scratched the little cat’s head. “Yes, you can call her Ju Zhun.”
The full name was too long, they usually used the short version.
Hearing the name, Lan Ye immediately thought of Rin’s full name. Cat. Big Orange. VIII. White Sleeve. Middle Saint Mark. Extraordinary Beast Power Princess Meow. Rin.
Lan Ye tried hard to hold back a laugh, but she really couldn’t, resulting in a rather comical expression that made Ju Rin frown repeatedly.
Thinking of Rin’s full name, Lan Ye remembered there was something she hadn’t cleared up yet.
“Oh, right. About what happened in the main hall this morning, I haven’t explained it clearly to you yet.”
Ju Rin looked at her. “Mhm?” She didn’t know why the topic had jumped back to this morning. Was there anything else to explain about what happened in the hall?
“It’s about the money.”
Ju Rin’s brow furrowed. She didn’t know why the human brought up the money again… she had already said she didn’t mind.
Lan Ye saw her expression and understood her meaning, once again marveling that this “love brain” really loved her without limits. Clearly, she had misunderstood the situation, but she chose to accept it anyway.
Lan Ye thought about it, if it were her, and someone equated her with money… well, it wouldn’t be totally impossible, but she really couldn’t think of how much money would feel equivalent to her. She was destined to become a great person, how could money measure her?
Getting sidetracked. Back to the question. Lan Ye looked at Ju Rin. Earlier in the kitchen, she had said that if some misunderstandings aren’t explained, the person involved might be fine, but the one who misunderstood would surely feel bad, no matter how much they consoled themselves. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be called a “misunderstanding.”
Lan Ye looked at Rin and explained, “The money I asked the King for in the hall, that wasn’t a breakup fee.”
Lan Ye briefly repeated what the few of them had said, explaining how the matter started, how the other party first wanted her to keep quiet and not talk about their relationship. Then she dug a pit.
“That wasn’t a breakup fee, it was just a ‘hush fee’ for that sentence.”
Lan Ye burst out laughing as she spoke. “Ten million per word. Two hundred and thirty million in total.”
Lan Ye couldn’t stop laughing, praising Rin as she did: “Your name is really great.”
Ju Rin, after hearing the whole story: “…”
Great where? Great for making it easy to ask for money?
She looked at the smile on the human’s face. She hadn’t expected that this was how things had gone… Thinking of the King and her being alone in the study, and the King saying the human was greedy and foolish, not worthy of her… If he knew he had paid two hundred and thirty million for a single sentence, she wondered if he would still be able to say such things.
At the thought, Ju Rin let out a chuckle.
Seeing her laugh, Lan Ye laughed even harder. See? I told you misunderstandings must be resolved.
Watching the human’s smile, Ju Rin’s single chuckle turned into a string of laughter. She pressed her hand to her lips, trying to stop, but in the human’s unrestrained laughter, it was hard to stop immediately.
Lan Ye looked at her, her eyes sparkling. Those people in the kitchen said Rin wasn’t prone to laughing, they should really see how beautiful she looked when she did. So beautiful that Lan Ye stopped laughing and just focused on watching her.
As she watched, Lan Ye suddenly snapped back and looked down at the little orange cat in Rin’s arms. “Does this little orange cat understand human speech?”
She had forgotten again, the cats in this world were mostly not ordinary cats. At noon she had said the King was stupid in front of the Cat Sister, and in the afternoon she said it again in front of the Cat Younger Sister…
Ju Rin saw her concern and smiled. “Don’t worry, she’s too small. She doesn’t understand.” She was only two months old, not yet of school age.
Lan Ye breathed a sigh of relief and stepped forward, wanting to pet the cute little orange cat. But as soon as she approached, the cat that was originally in Rin’s arms jumped toward her. She hurried to catch it.
As soon as the little cat reached her arms, it rubbed its head against her and kept standing up as if trying to rub against Lan Ye’s face.
Lan Ye lowered her head, and the little orange cat “meow meow meowed” as it rubbed and licked her. Its excitement and warmth were so intense it surprised Lan Ye.
Ju Rin was also a bit surprised. She remembered the King saying the little orange one wasn’t very affectionate toward people. When it rubbed against her in the study, the King said it was because it liked her. Now it seemed its liking for her wasn’t even one-tenth of its liking for the human…
Lan Ye was being rubbed so much it tickled. She laughed and hugged the cat, burying her face in the little cat’s belly for a deep sniff.
“The scent of a kitten is truly fragrant!”
Ju Rin watched the human’s behavior, her eyelid twitching slightly. What was this human so intoxicated by…? She reached out wanting to take the cat back, but the little cat dodged her hand and continued to lick the human’s face.
Lan Ye laughed happily. “Rin, look at your sister! You should learn from her!” A kitten like this, really, the human would be willing to give it whatever it wanted.
Ju Rin: “…” Learn what? She watched as the little cat kept licking the human. Learn this? She reached out and snatched the cat back directly.
But as soon as the little orange cat reached her arms, it struggled to jump back out. Before long, it was back in the human’s arms, even lying down and exposing its belly for Lan Ye to “rua.”
Lan Ye burst out laughing. Such a cute little orange cat.
Lan Ye “rua-ed” the cat and looked at Rin. “It seems your sister likes me more.” She scratched the cat’s head and asked Rin, “How many cat sisters like this do you have?”
Ju Rin: “Many.”
But many had passed away because they reached the end of their lifespan. Thinking of this, Ju Rin thought of her older sister, the white cat Lan Ye had seen at noon. She was already twenty years old… If she still couldn’t transform, she would also reach the end of her life.
She remembered this morning, her sister said she was happy to see her again and that she really liked the human she had brought back. She felt like her spirit got better just by being near her.
Ju Rin looked at the human. The little orange cat was rubbing against her excitedly, looking so high-spirited it was almost hyper… Ju Rin was a bit confused. She looked at the human. Could she have brought a catnip stick? Probably not, she hadn’t smelled any. So it was just simple liking?
She looked at the human’s sparkling eyes as she laughed, it wasn’t surprising. Her simple and kind appearance would naturally be liked by kittens.
Lan Ye looked at the little orange cat in her arms and thought of Rin’s name, Big Orange. “Rin, were you a little orange cat when you were small too?”
Ju Rin nodded slightly. In her childhood beast form, her atavism was indeed an orange cat.
Lan Ye laughed. “Do you have photos from when you were little?” She wanted to see what kind of little orange cat Rin was, she must have been very cute.
Ju Rin of course had childhood photos, but seeing the human’s deep, mischievous smile, she simply said, “No.”
Her intuition told her that if the human saw them, she would surely say something that would make her uncomfortable… or she might laugh… Ju Rin’s childhood beast form… she was a bit reluctant to recall it. She had been more “well-rounded” than other Beastmen in their childhood forms…
Lan Ye didn’t believe it. How could a princess not have photos? She looked at Ju Rin and narrowed her eyes slightly. This Beastman didn’t want to show her.
Haha, did she think she couldn’t find them herself? She was already in her palace. Lan Ye decided not to “startle the cat” (grass) just yet. She looked regretful, as if accepting the fact that Rin had no photos.
She scratched the little orange cat’s chin and thought of a question. “Is the King also an orange cat?”
“No.” Ju Rin corrected Lan Ye’s phrasing: “We are not cats; that is just our childhood beast form.”
Lan Ye didn’t dwell on it. “Fine. Then what kind of cat is the King’s childhood beast form?”
Ju Rin: “…” I said it doesn’t count as a cat.
With a sigh, Ju Rin answered, “Siamese.”
Lan Ye burst out laughing once again. So that’s why! So prone to having a “black face” so he’s a Siamese!
“What about the Queen?” She hadn’t seen this one yet and was curious what kind of cat she was.
Ju Rin: “Ragdoll.”
Lan Ye’s eyes widened. “Are you biological?”
Ju Rin didn’t understand why the human was surprised. Of course she was biological.
Lan Ye: “A Siamese and a Ragdoll gave birth to a Big Orange?”
Ju Rin corrected her again: “We are Beastmen.” The childhood beast form was just an atavism in the genes. After so many generations of Beastmen, everyone’s genes were very complex. Generally speaking, a Beastman who fully manifested one type of ancestral gene was classified as having “pure blood.” Some Beastmen manifested multiple types of ancestral genes in their childhood form. For example, she had a sister whose childhood beast form was a Ragdoll with all orange fur.
After listening, Lan Ye looked at her own belly. “Then what will we give birth to?” She took a sharp breath, this felt a bit exciting now.
Ju Rin: “…” The way she said it, it sounded like they were going to give birth to a monster. “We will give birth to our child.” No matter what, it would be their child.
Lan Ye scratched the little orange cat in her arms. She was just curious. As for specifically what would be born, let her think. An orange cat would be good, a Ragdoll would be good, even a cow cat would be fine. Anything would do. She wasn’t picky, there was no such thing as a kitten that wasn’t cute.
“Meow~”
The little orange cat in her arms seemed to echo Lan Ye’s thoughts. Lan Ye laughed and lowered her head to kiss its ear.
Seeing this, Ju Rin’s ears twitched. She thought of the kiss between them at noon… Her gaze became a bit deeper.
Lan Ye felt something was off and looked up at Rin. Seeing that somewhat deep gaze, she raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking of a question.
“For this kind of little cat that hasn’t become a Beastman yet, can their ears be touched?” She still remembered Rin saying that a Beastman’s beast form ears couldn’t be touched.
Ju Rin took the little cat back from Lan Ye’s arms. “No.”
Lan Ye laughed. “I don’t believe you~” She looked like she had seen through the truth. “I just touched them many times, and you didn’t react at all.” She gave Rin an ambiguous blink. “Why lie? Jealous?”
She took a step closer to Rin, her face almost pressed against Rin’s.
Ju Rin instinctively leaned back a bit, but the human’s warm breath still brushed against her face. It was warm and itchy. And the light in her eyes was very scorching.
The human’s leisurely voice carried a hint of laughter, reaching straight into Ju Rin’s ears.
“Is it that you only want me to touch you?”
