- Chapter 20 - Put Knowledge Into Practice. "You Lie Down and Let Me Practice."
Part 1: The Mi Family Study
Mi Xiaoman thought she had come up with a brilliant idea.
“Sister, why don’t we just kidnap that human and use her to threaten the Princess into returning to the palace?”
Mi Can had just finished testing her final weapon. Hearing this, she looked up, her sharp gaze cutting through the air like a light blade. Mi Xiaoman instinctively shrunk her neck, looking embarrassed.
“I just thought it would be simpler,” Xiaoman muttered. “It saves us from actually having to fight Her Highness.”
Mi Can placed the weapon back into its case, her eyes flashing with disdain. “She’s a mere ordinary human. What’s the difference between fighting her and fighting a beastman cub?”
She wouldn’t do something so humiliating. Last time at Rin’s place, she only intended to scare her so she’d stop being so outspoken.
Mi Xiaoman tried to justify herself: “It’s not like we’d actually hurt her. We’d just hold her to force the Princess to come with us.”
Mi Can snorted. “Who does she think she is? You think she can be used to threaten Rin?” She looked at Xiaoman. “Furthermore, do you think I’d be happy if I told Rin to come with me and she refused, only to comply because of a human? Where would my dignity as the eldest daughter of the Mi family go?”
“It wouldn’t go anywhere good,” Xiaoman answered immediately, placing herself in her sister’s shoes. Not only would she not be happy, she’d be furious. If the words of the Mi family’s eldest daughter carried less weight than an ordinary human’s, where would her pride be?
Xiaoman finally understood the root cause of why her sister wouldn’t touch the human. If kidnapping her worked, it was an insult to Mi Can, if it didn’t work, it was a waste of time.
Plan Abandoned.
As Mi Can packed the last of the weapons, Xiaoman’s heart began to drum with fear. She knew how powerful the Princess was. If they really came to blows… her sister would be fine, and as the Princess’s savior, Xiaoman usually received preferential treatment. But the others? The Princess wouldn’t show them any mercy.
“Are we really going to fight the Princess?” Xiaoman asked nervously.
Mi Can looked at the anxious Xiaoman and instructed: “Only if absolutely necessary.”
To Xiaoman’s ears, that meant: Fight if you have to.
“First, tell Rin that the Queen is critically ill and wishes to see her,” Mi Can said. This was the plan she conceived this morning, using the Queen’s health to trick Rin into returning.
It wasn’t entirely a lie. Both of them had seen how poor the Queen’s complexion was yesterday. The attendants said she had been ill ever since Princess Ju Rin left. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the truth out of the Queen yesterday regarding why Rin left in the first place.
This morning, Mi Can couldn’t resist going to see the King. The King only said there was a “misunderstanding” between her and Rin but wouldn’t elaborate. However, the King expressed a desire for Mi Can to bring Rin back, intending to publicly announce their engagement on the King’s birthday at the end of the month.
A smile flickered in Mi Can’s eyes. In that case, she’d bring Rin back even if she had to tie her up. How could the other party be absent for the announcement of their wedding?
She took one last look at the weapon case. Inside were the most advanced weapons she had developed. For beastmen, weapons that only caused physical harm weren’t a fatal threat, only weapons like these, which suppressed Spiritual Power, were truly dangerous.
Click, click. Mi Can fastened the case, and Xiaoman quickly stepped forward to take it.
“Is everyone here?” Mi Can asked.
“They’re all waiting downstairs,” Xiaoman nodded. To “invite” the Princess back without harming her, two people weren’t enough. Her sister had mobilized a group of guards from the experimental base, all S-class beastmen.
“Good. Let’s go.”
Part 2: The Royal Palace
In the King’s study, upon hearing the news of Mi Can’s departure, the King resting on a lounge chair by the window, stroked the small kitten in her arms.
“Someone has gone to find your sister.”
Looking at the two month old orange kitten, the King thought of Rin as a child, and a rare smile touched her eyes. Back then, Rin depended on her entirely, unlike now, having developed her own views of the world and questioning the King.
She scratched the kitten’s chin. “She’s likely still throwing a tantrum. I wonder if she’s willing to come back.”
Willing or not… she must return.
Elsewhere, the Queen also received news of Mi Can’s departure. After dismissing the messenger, the Queen continued to feed a white cat on the chair beside her. The white cat looked very old, its eyes squinted, its whiskers sparse and drooping. It struggled even to eat the finely mashed meat.
After swallowing, the white cat let out a few weak mews. The frail sound made the Queen’s heart ache.
“Yes, we’ve found your sister. She’ll be home soon. Eat well so you can see her.”
“Meow~” The volume was slightly higher this time, revealing its joy.
The Queen leaned down to kiss the cat. This was her child, too. A kitten unable to transform into human form only had the lifespan of a normal cat. Her Ningning was already twenty years old, extremely long lived for a cat.
Even though Ningning was still a child in her heart, it was already very old, stumbling while walking and unable to jump onto the bed. For the past few days, Ningning had dragged its frail body to Rin’s room twice a day. The Queen knew it missed Rin.
Originally, the Queen was waiting for Rin to figure things out and return on her own, but seeing Ningning in this state made her worry that Ningning didn’t have much time left. That was why she sent people to find Rin.
Beside her, Jonna saw the Queen’s expression and knew she was grieving over Princess Bu Ning’s condition.
“Don’t be sad, Your Majesty. The King has decided to announce the marriage of Princess Ju Rin and Miss Mi Can at the birthday banquet. They are both Ultra-S beastmen, it’s highly likely they will conceive an Ultra-S kitten. Then, Miss Mi Can can help Princess Bu Ning transform.”
If the transformation succeeded, the lifespan would be recalculated to that of a beastman, which was even longer than a human’s.
“I hope so,” the Queen said, not entirely comforted. She knew the probability was small. Ultra-S kittens were too rare. Of all the King’s children, there was only Rin.
Then, the Queen remembered something and instructed Jonna: “Tell the people remaining in the Central District to protect that human well.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Part 3: The Marriage Registration Office
Lan Ye was bent over, one hand groping the floor for the pen she had dropped in shock, but her eyes never left the screen. She was staring so intently it was as if she were afraid to miss a single second.
This is so direct!
On the massive electronic screen, two 3D animated figures were on a bed, skipping all the pleasantries and going straight into a passionate embrace. Though animated, the details were meticulous and the movements fluid, making it look incredibly realistic.
The two characters were unclothed, sitting together on the bed, showing their profiles to Lan Ye and Ju Rin. Since it was an animation, everything that needed to be drawn was there.
Seeing the two “half-spheres” pressed together, Lan Ye suddenly thought of a type of small cake. Snowy Mooncakes. White, soft, pressed together with cream or taro in the middle. Sweet and soft, delicious in one bite.
Lan Ye finally found her pen. As she stood up, she subconsciously swallowed, her mouth watering slightly.
Ju Rin, hearing the movement, glanced over. She saw the human staring at the screen with glowing eyes, looking like she was about to drool.
What is wrong with her…
Rin remembered how flustered the human was when the film started. Had she never seen this kind of thing before? Sensing Lan Ye might look back, Rin immediately turned her head away, acting as if nothing was happening. Her instincts told her that making eye contact right now would be a bad idea.
Lan Ye was the type who wanted to eat when she was nervous, and since the screen happened to show something white and round that looked like food, the association was natural. She was actually a bit hungry.
Lan Ye turned to look at Rin. The curtains were drawn, the lights were off, and the only light came from the flickering screen. In the shifting shadows, Rin sat leaning back, staring straight ahead with a blank expression, her hands resting naturally. It was as if she were watching a perfectly mundane documentary.
Lan Ye’s mind filled with question marks. This is abnormal. Even Lan Ye, who had a “limited but present” sense of shame, was nervous. How could this person have zero reaction?
She’s faking it, Lan Ye concluded. A “country cat” trying to act worldly and unfazed. It was actually kind of cute. Lan Ye mimicked Rin’s posture, leaning back and calmly watching the screen as the characters moved from kissing to intense groping.
Small potatoes, she thought. I can handle this.
Seeing the human settle down out of the corner of her eye, Ju Rin let out a small, silent sigh of relief. Her clenched fists relaxed slightly.
As the kissing on screen intensified, the sounds of breathing from the speakers became prominent. Lan Ye felt like the breath was right in her ear. She looked up and saw a speaker directly above her. The wet sounds of kissing and heavy breathing filled her ears, making her skin tingle.
This animation is so exaggerated, Lan Ye thought. Who breathes like that just from kissing? She felt like she could run a kilometer and not pant that much. She remembered romance novels describing being “kissed breathless.” She always found that funny, unless someone was sticking their fingers up your nose while kissing you, you could definitely still breathe.
She exhaled heavily. Why was the film only showing this? Wasn’t this a class? Why was it just kissing and touching? Where was the “knowledge”?
Suddenly, the video paused with a ding. Large text appeared on the screen:
[Spouse Sexual Knowledge: Human Beast Edition]
What? Lan Ye’s eyes widened. That sounds… heavy.
The animation resumed. The two characters faced forward. Visual impact! Lan Ye blinked, those “half-spheres” that looked okay from the side were quite something from the front! They were drawn way too big. They were practically swaying.
Lan Ye instinctively turned to look at Rin. She was still in “unfazed mode.” Lan Ye’s gaze drifted down to Rin’s chest. She remembered seeing them yesterday; the size was very reasonable, unlike this exaggerated animation.
Ju Rin felt the heavy gaze. Despite feeling a bit violated, she refused to turn her head, her fists clenching again. The screen was a bit of a shock to her too. It wasn’t that she hadn’t seen this before in the Kingdom, such videos were automatically unlocked for beastmen once they came of age. But she had always watched them alone, at night. Never in the middle of the day, shoulder to shoulder with someone else.
Text appeared over the characters’ heads. The one on the left was “Human,” the one on the right was “Beastman.” Then, the beastman character grew ears.
Rin realized why it was the “Human Beast Edition” it was tailored to their registration info. She noticed the beastman was drawn taller with a larger chest… which she felt was unnecessary. She glanced at the human next to her and felt certain that… her human’s were larger.
Rin looked down at her hands, remembering the memory of that night, the curve and the fit against her palm. Her palms felt hot. She gripped her hands into fists and turned to look at the curtains. The air in the room felt stifling. Just as she was thinking of opening a window, she felt a heat on her thigh.
A hand was resting there.
“Hmm?” Rin turned to the owner of the hand. The human’s large eyes were sparkling. Rin had a very bad feeling.
“Look,” Lan Ye pointed at the screen.
The screen explained that under sexual stimulation, a beastman’s spiritual power might fluctuate, causing them to reveal partial beast traits (like ears or tails). It advised humans not to worry, as this was normal and could even be a “preference” that helps bonding.
Lan Ye asked, “Can it be any part?” She traced a circle in the air in front of Rin’s chest. “Can this part turn into a beast form?”
She imagined the “half-sphere” suddenly turning into a cat’s tiny teats, all eight of them in two rows. What a magical sight that would be!
Ju Rin: “…”
The level of absurdity in this human’s brain once again exceeded her imagination. She grabbed Lan Ye’s wrist and moved her hand off her leg.
“No.” Even if it could, she wouldn’t. Usually, it was just limbs, ears, or tails. No beastman would transform that part!
Lan Ye pouted. “But it says ‘any part’.”
Rin didn’t want to elaborate. “I said no.”
So bossy, Lan Ye thought. She figured it was possible, but Rin was just unwilling. Fine.
The video finally moved into the core content, anatomy. It explained that human and beastman structures were largely the same, including private parts. The differences were the teeth and tongue. Beastman teeth were sharper and could easily pierce human skin. Their tongues, like cats’, had tiny papillae (barbs) that felt like a brush, a very unique sensation.
Lan Ye subconsciously touched her nape, remembering that night, the sensation that made her feel so good she almost cried.
Her hand landed on Rin’s thigh again. Rin turned with a look that asked, Now what?
“That night,” Lan Ye asked, “besides my neck, did you lick anywhere else?”
Ju Rin’s heart raced as memories resurfaced. “No.” She lied, trying to banish the images from her mind.
“You did lick my neck!” Lan Ye realized. “It wasn’t a dream! And did you bite me?”
“No,” Rin insisted. Lan Ye didn’t believe her.
Rin picked up Lan Ye’s hand, put it back on Lan Ye’s own lap, and shifted her legs further away.
The video entered the next section: [Body Exploration].
The human character lay on the bed while the beastman sat beside them. The animation showed a detailed “internal perspective” of the human body. Lan Ye felt a strange sense of phantom sensation as she watched. Why was the human the one lying down? Why wasn’t the beastman lying down?
The video reached the “G-spot” equivalent, with the beastman’s fingers moving in a specific rhythm. Lan Ye swallowed hard and pressed her legs together. The frequency was… intense.
She reached out to pat the leg next to her but hit empty air. She turned and saw Rin had migrated to the very edge of the two persons seat. She reached over and poked Rin’s arm.
Rin eventually turned her head. “Yes?”
Lan Ye looked into those deep amber eyes. “Can you… go that fast?” She mimicked the finger-curling motion from the video.
Ju Rin: “…” She felt harassed. “Do you have no sense of shame?”
“I have a little,” Lan Ye said seriously. “But this is a class! We’re here to learn. If you have a question, you have to ask. Maybe you didn’t go to school, so you don’t know, but asking questions is how you learn.”
Ju Rin was speechless. She had been to school!
“Well? Can you?” Lan Ye poked her again.
Rin sighed, defeated. “Yes.” Her boundaries were being lowered by this human every minute.
“At that frequency?” Lan Ye pressed.
Rin simply nodded. Lan Ye gave a thumbs up. “Impressive! A human massage gun!”
The video moved through various positions, lying, kneeling, prone, standing and then to “grinding” and oral techniques. The sounds from the speakers were getting more intense.
Lan Ye looked at the “unfazed” Rin. Either she’s a master at faking it, or she’s frigid.
Actually, Rin was more tense than she’d ever been facing a wild beast. But she didn’t say a word until the next section: [Contraception].
It explained that during intimacy, beastmen secrete a substance called β1301 (commonly known as “Fertility Booster”). It protects the eggs and allows them to remain active outside the body, eventually combining with a human’s egg. Beastman contraception works by suppressing this secretion.
Lan Ye turned to Rin. “Anything to say?”
“I’m sorry,” Rin said.
“If an apology worked, why would we need the police?” Lan Ye noted. She realized that while she thought the pregnancy was 50/50, it was actually mostly Rin’s “fault.” “You take full responsibility for this.”
“I am,” Rin said. “That’s why I suggested marriage.”
“You think marriage covers everything? You’ve only taken responsibility for the child, not for the mental and physical distress you caused me! I was a happy, single person, and suddenly I have to carry the weight of another life. Do you think that’s easy?”
Rin shook her head, about to apologize again, when Lan Ye said, “You have to properly comfort my wounded heart!”
“How… should I comfort you?”
Lan Ye looked at her seriously. “After this class, I’m going to your place.” She curled her fingers and mimicked the rapid motion from the video. “You lie down, and let me practice.”
She laughed. “We humans have pretty fast hand speed too.”
