After Becoming An Internet Sensation For Pretending To Be An Alpha, I Turned Into An Omega - Chapter 18
Night had deepened, and the dim yellow light cast an intimate glow over the room.
Bai Yue lay alone in the center of the empty bed, clutching the quilt tightly, imagining An Leng holding her in her arms.
A tingling heat spread across the back of her neck, surrounded as she was by Alpha pheromones.
This was her first time feeling the effects of pheromones. Her legs instinctively squeezed together, her body twisting restlessly from the unbearable heat, yet she remained steadfast in adhering to her core values.
Just then, the door swung open.
An Leng walked in, her damp hair half-dried, wearing Bai Yue’s own silk nightgown.
As she entered, the scent of pheromones in the air intensified, carrying a hint of tea fragrance.
Only then did Bai Yue realize she was lying in An Leng’s bedroom…
An Leng approached naturally, sitting down beside the bed as if this were the most natural thing in the world.
Their eyes met. From the start, An Leng’s face held a gentle expression, conveying an indescribable allure.
An Leng lifted the quilt and slid in, then turned to lie on top of her. Long strands of hair cascaded down, some brushing against Bai Yue’s ear and cheek, spreading across the pillow.
One hand gently brushed the hair aside, while the other traced the line of her waist downward, making a move that clearly sought intimacy.
With the person she had longed for all day finally beside her, how could Bai Yue not treasure this moment?
Her body ached with need, and she wanted more, unable to wait even a second. She tilted her head back and kissed An Leng’s lips, then pulled away clumsily, like a dragonfly touching water.
An Leng wasn’t surprised. After Bai Yue pulled away, she leaned down and kissed her forehead, eyes, nose… and finally, her lips.
Bai Yue was trapped against the pillow, unable to escape the fervent, passionate embrace, so different from the earlier light kisses.
Drawn in, Bai Yue raised her hand and gently stroked An Leng’s back.
The air around them seemed to heat up.
An Leng lay still, not daring to move a muscle. She was afraid that turning over might disturb Bai Yue’s rest. But just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard rustling beside her, and a leg pressed against her body.
The room wasn’t particularly warm. An Leng glanced sideways and saw that Bai Yue’s blanket had nearly slipped off the bed.
She tried to pull it back into place, but a muffled groan from beside her made her freeze.
Sighing, she divided her own blanket, tucking Bai Yue’s arms and legs in snugly.
She glanced at her phone: 3 AM.
After replying to two quick messages, An Leng drifted back into sleep.
She wasn’t sure how much time passed, but she awoke dazed, feeling something heavy and constricting against her body.
The sky was just beginning to lighten when An Leng woke up. Turning her head, she saw Bai Yue’s face buried in the crook of her neck, her entire body wrapped around her…
The single quilt on the bed had long since been abandoned.
Most importantly…
Bai Yue’s hand was shamelessly groping her chest…
Gritting her teeth, An Leng pried Bai Yue’s arm away, and the physical restraint on her body vanished. Just as she was about to sit up, she realized Bai Yue had also pinned her hair down…
Carefully extricating herself, she slipped out of bed, then gently re-covered Bai Yue with the quilt.
By the time she finished, she felt fully awake.
Outside, Father Bai and Bai’s mother were stirring, their voices indicating they were preparing to go grocery shopping.
An Leng quickly washed up and changed back into yesterday’s clothes.
She decided to join her uncle and aunt at the morning market for a stroll, hoping to clear her head.
Before leaving, she glanced back at Bai Yue, still sound asleep on the bed.
What could she possibly be dreaming about? An Leng wondered, seeing the contented smile on her face…
Bai Yue woke up just past seven.
Her body ached all over, and her mind felt foggy and empty.
Looking around, she realized that everything that had just happened… had been nothing more than a dream.
An Leng was already gone from the room. Bai Yue threw off the covers and got out of bed, but suddenly noticed something was off…
The two quilts Zhao Ping had brought last night were actually different patterns.
And the quilt covering her now was An Leng’s. Even the side of the bed she’d woken up on… should have been An Leng’s side!
Feeling guilty, Bai Yue went to the living room and called out, “Mom? Dad? An Leng?”
No one was home.
Plopping down on the sofa, Bai Yue texted Shi Xiaoxia for help…
[Urgent!]
[I’m done for!]
After a long pause, Shi Xiaoxia replied:
[Did you lose your virginity?]
[Worse than that…]
She had apparently lost An Leng’s virginity.
Still no reply. Panicking, Bai Yue made a video call instead.
The call connected instantly, but before she could even see the face, it switched to audio.
It was deathly quiet on the other end.
“What’s wrong? What are you doing?” Bai Yue asked, confused.
They’d known each other for so long that they’d seen each other at their worst. Unless… there was something she wasn’t supposed to see.
“I dialed the wrong number… I can talk, what’s wrong?” Shi Xiaoxia replied softly, her voice cautious, as if afraid of being overheard.
“I didn’t go home with An Leng, but there was a storm last night, so we ended up sleeping over…” Bai Yue’s voice trailed off, growing weaker.
“You slept together?!” Shi Xiaoxia gasped, unable to contain her shock.
Before she could explain, another woman’s voice suddenly came through the line, sounding groggy and half-awake. “Hm… Who are you talking to?”
The voice was soft and short, but Bai Yue heard every word clearly.
“Why is Sis Xi answering? I thought… How did you two end up together?” Bai Yue stammered.
“No!” Shi Xiaoxia immediately denied it, her voice panicked.
The sound of fabric rustling came through the receiver, followed by a muffled, “Stop messing with it, you’re annoying me…”
The last sentence was cut off as the call ended abruptly.
Bai Yue sat dumbfounded on the sofa, clutching her phone. This morning had been too much for her to handle.
Bai Yue ran her fingers through her hair and flopped onto the sofa. Behind her, the door lock clicked as her friends returned, chatting and laughing.
Zhao Ping, carrying the groceries, glanced at the sofa and jumped when she saw Bai Yue sprawled out.
“Young lady, why didn’t you make a sound when you woke up?” Zhao Ping scolded. “What’s this early rising all about? I was just telling Xiao Leng on the way home that you usually don’t get up until nine or ten!”
“I couldn’t sleep…” Bai Yue mumbled, burying her face in the cushions.
“Keep that up, and you’ll pay for it when you’re older,” Zhao Ping warned. “You need to get into a proper routine.”
Bai Yue had heard this lecture from her mother since childhood. By now, she’d grown used to it.
Seizing the opportunity to catch her at home, Zhao Ping continued her earnest lecture: “Look at Xiao Leng—she goes to bed early and wakes up early. That’s the way to do it. Oh, and Xiao Leng, Bai Yue’s sleep habits can be quite… restless. Did she disturb your rest last night?”
Hearing the critical question, Bai Yue instantly sat bolt upright, pricking up her ears to listen intently.
An Leng, who was helping wash the vegetables in the kitchen, replied with a smile: “Yesterday… Bai Yue was surprisingly well-behaved in her sleep. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get up so early.”
As she spoke, she glanced toward the living room, meeting Bai Yue’s guilty gaze head-on.
The rain stopped in the middle of the night. After breakfast, Father Bai went to work, and they bid farewell to Zhao Ping and prepared to return home.
Bai Yue didn’t have work today. After returning home and changing her clothes, she decided to use the free time to adapt yesterday’s song.
*****
The backup on her phone was still intact. She took out a notebook and pen, then reached for the clothes she’d just tossed onto the sofa.
The pocket was empty, completely empty…
Bai Yue shot up from the sofa. She was certain she’d torn off the paper and put it in this pocket!
Panicking, she immediately called Zhao Ping to ask if she might have left it at home.
Zhao Ping searched the house thoroughly but found nothing…
This is hopeless…
Knock, knock— someone knocked at the door.
Bai Yue didn’t have work today, so she wondered who could be visiting her at this hour.
She peered through the peephole and saw Shi Xiaoxia, wearing a cap and chewing gum while blowing bubbles.
When she opened the door, she noticed Shi Xiaoxia was carrying two large supermarket bags.
“How did you even have time to come over?” Bai Yue asked, helping her guest find a pair of slippers.
“Didn’t I mention this morning…?” Shi Xiaoxia said, trying to bring her bags inside but unsure where to go.
“Your place… Did you get robbed?”
She knew Bai Yue’s place was messy, but she hadn’t imagined it would be completely uninhabitable.
“I’m busy looking for something,” Bai Yue said, running her fingers through her hair as she casually accepted the bag.
She kicked the items on the floor aside to clear a path for Shi Xiaoxia.
The bag was almost entirely filled with snacks and drinks, all high in calories. Bai Yue swallowed hard and asked skeptically, “Are you sure you bought all this for me?”
“…It doesn’t matter who eats it,” Shi Xiaoxia replied, wrapping a piece of chewing gum in paper and tossing it into the trash.
Bai Yue raised an eyebrow. “Spill the beans.”
Shi Xiaoxia grabbed a can of cola, opened it, and gulped down two big mouthfuls before nodding. “Wang Xi and I don’t have anything to talk about. What happened between you and An Leng last night?”
“You two are really… together? I wasn’t hearing things?!” Bai Yue’s eyes widened instantly, disbelief written all over her face.
Shi Xiaoxia confirmed it matter-of-factly, even turning on the TV and finding a horror movie to play. “My turn. What about you?”
Even though they were friends, Bai Yue still couldn’t stomach her entertainment choices.
Snatching the remote, she lowered the volume before settling down beside her. Hesitantly, she said, “…An and I… probably haven’t done anything yet.”
As she spoke, she explained everything, then fretted, “The biggest problem now is… I can’t find those two pieces of paper…”
“…You didn’t drop them in her car, did you?” Shi Xiaoxia picked up the jacket to inspect it. The pockets weren’t damaged, but they were shallow—something could easily fall out if you sat down.
Bai Yue froze, then suddenly slapped her forehead, wanting to cry but no tears came.
If they really fell in the car, that would be impossible to explain.
Checking the time, Shi Xiaoxia calculated, “Little Mute should already be at the company. I’ll test the waters with Wang Xi… Since no one’s come looking for you yet, it probably isn’t a big deal.”
“…If you still want to sing that song at the birthday party, you’d better change the lyrics. Otherwise, it’s too risky.”
Bai Yue knew what she was thinking. After Shi Xiaoxia finished, she suddenly said, “I’ve noticed… you’ve become surprisingly reliable when you’re with Wang Xi.”
Shi Xiaoxia’s hand froze mid-air, mid-call. “…What exactly do you think of me?”

Having taken the liberty of giving herself half a day off, An Leng returned to the office to find a mountain of documents waiting for her attention.
All of them required her review and handling.
Xie Yijin’s office was right outside An Leng’s door. As she passed by, An Leng casually tossed her car keys over. “Take my car to the 4S shop for me.”
Pushing open the door to her office, An Leng brewed herself a cup of coffee, pinched the bridge of her nose, and settled down to work diligently.
But barely had she sat down when Wang Xi knocked and entered, carrying a document.
“What’s this?”
An Leng took the folder and flipped through it casually. Inside was a photography contract for GJ Magazine’s digital edition, but the name section was blank. She looked closer and realized it wasn’t Bai Yue’s contract.
“Since Director An will be representing GJ alongside Bai Yue in The Music Journey variety show,” Wang Xi explained, clearing her throat, “we’re planning to have you both shoot a photo series for promotional purposes.”
The show’s production team was thrilled that GJ had agreed to let An Leng participate. They even had draft contracts ready for both women.
However, An Leng wasn’t a public figure, so Wang Xi had to personally handle the publicity handover. Yet facing her superior, she couldn’t muster the firmness to insist, leaving her little choice but to negotiate.
An Leng stared at the contract with a stern expression, but inside, she was bursting with joy.
Just as expected, even someone like Chen Zi had to step aside when faced with a company-endorsed pairing!
After flipping through the pages casually, she signed her name without hesitation. Her swift agreement left Wang Xi utterly bewildered.
After retrieving the documents, Wang Xi hesitated for a long moment before asking, “Director An… nothing happened between you and Bai Yue yesterday, did it?”
This morning, no matter how she tried, Shi Xiaoxia refused to reveal a single detail. But she had clearly heard the words “they slept together.”
Throughout the morning, she had closely monitored online sentiment, relieved to find no damaging rumors about Bai Yue.
Despite this, her heart, which had been pounding relentlessly, was still struggling to calm down.
An Leng replied with genuine confusion, “What could possibly have happened?”
“Good…” Wang Xi immediately answered, clenching her fists and silently berating herself for being more rational—after all, they were both Alphas!
After Wang Xi left, An Leng cracked her neck and stretched lazily.
Apart from a restless night, she was perfectly fine…
She had been poring over stacks of documents for hours when her phone suddenly beeped.
Bai Yue: Are you at the company? Everything go smoothly?
An Leng pinched the bridge of her nose. Even though she knew it was just a polite inquiry, she still felt an overwhelming sense of happiness.
She smiled slightly and replied: I’m here.
An Leng pressed the record button, filming a short video of the documents on the table and sending it to Bai Yue.
But there was no response from the other end.
An Leng pursed her lips, just as she was about to close the interface, a message from Xie Yijin suddenly arrived.
Xie Yijin: [Image]
[Xie Yijin: Young President An, a staff member found this in the car and put it in the glove compartment.]
Frowning, An Leng clicked to open the image. It was a square piece of paper, neatly folded.
The paper was blank, except for a slight yellowing, suggesting it was quite old.
How did she not remember having something like this in her car?
[An Leng: Open it and show me.]
After a long pause, Xie Yijin sent back several photos.
The office was quiet.
The faint ticking of the wall clock echoed in the silence.
Zooming in on the photos, An Leng’s head buzzed.
A wave of dizziness washed over her…
