After Becoming a Scummy Alpha, I Was Spoiled by a Sweet Omega - Chapter 76
Ning Xuan was, of course, delighted.
But alongside her joy came a pang of guilt. Yu Yazhi had come to see her again and again, always so eager and devoted, while she herself seemed slower to warm, less demonstrative.
Seeing her dazed silence, Yu Yazhi’s smile faltered: “What’s wrong? Am I not welcome? Did I give you pressure again?”
Ning Xuan shook her head: “No. I just feel in this relationship, you seem to give more. Doesn’t it tire you?”
Yu Yazhi: “…”
That startled her. She thought she’d burdened Ning Xuan again.
“No. As long as you respond, I’m happy. Do couples really need to measure who gives more? This is my first love, I don’t know much.”
She was a novice in matters of the heart.
Ning Xuan wasn’t much better. She pulled Yu Yazhi inside: “Come in first. Are you tired? Hungry?”
Yu Yazhi saw she’d already eaten. “Not very hungry.”
But her stomach betrayed her with a loud growl.
The moment turned awkward.
Yu Yazhi laughed self consciously: “Maybe a little. Let’s order room service.”
Ning Xuan nodded: “What do you want?”
“Pasta. Black pepper pasta. But I want to shower first.”
She was meticulous about cleanliness. After driving all day, she was hot and sweaty.
Ning Xuan pointed her to the bathroom, then opened her suitcase to fetch clothes. She even found a swimsuit. Was Yu Yazhi planning to swim?
She asked: “By the way, where’s the saffron farm?”
From the bathroom, over the sound of running water, Yu Yazhi answered: “In Yancheng. Remote, high altitude, sparsely populated. Unique in its own way.”
Ning Xuan searched online: “Then be careful of altitude sickness. Did you prepare medicine? You’ll need rhodiola, ibuprofen, something for stomach issues.”
Yu Yazhi replied: “I know. I’ll buy them tomorrow. Still time.”
“Alright. I’ll go with you after lunch break.”
She jotted down the list on a sticky note.
Knock, knock.
Room service arrived with pasta and wine.
“Thank you.”
She set them on the table.
Soon, Yu Yazhi emerged, damp from her shower.
She wore a black silk slip dress, hem so short it revealed the tops of her thighs. As she raised her arms to dry her hair, the fabric rode up—revealing the edge of her underwear.
Ning Xuan’s mind spun. Was that a thong?
The thought alone made her blush. Yu Yazhi’s allure was unmistakable.
Yu Yazhi, feigning innocence, sat on the carpet to eat. Kneeling forward, her curves were impossible to ignore.
Ning Xuan, seated beside her, felt her gaze drawn irresistibly, heat rising through her body. She quickly shifted to sit opposite, only to see even more.
No bra. The pendant on her chest glinted as her skin gleamed pale and smooth.
Yu Yazhi asked: “How’s the taste?”
Ning Xuan licked her lips unconsciously, as if she were the hungry one.
“Not bad.”
Yu Yazhi smiled, twirled some pasta, and held it to her lips: “Want a bite?”
“I already ate.”
Yu Yazhi glanced at the discarded tomato pasta: “Mine’s black pepper. Different.”
Ning Xuan had no excuse. She leaned forward and took a bite.
Yu Yazhi’s smile deepened.
Ning Xuan frowned: “Why are you laughing?”
“Nothing. Just happy.”
She sipped her wine, deliberately letting it spill down her lips.
Ning Xuan handed her a tissue: “Wipe it.”
Yu Yazhi leaned closer: “You do it.”
Ning Xuan obliged, leaning in. Their eyes met, breaths mingled.
The spark ignited.
Neither knew who moved first, but suddenly they were kissing, tangled together.
Ning Xuan’s hand slipped, confirming what Yu Yazhi wore beneath her dress. She was teasing her deliberately.
Realizing this, Ning Xuan no longer held back.
“Bed.”
Clothes scattered. They resumed what had been left unfinished that night.
“Is this room soundproof? Keep your voice down.”
Ning Xuan thought of Xu Ke next door, embarrassed, afraid of being overheard.
Yu Yazhi kissed her chin, laughing: “Depends on whether you can control yourself.”
Her eyes burned with challenge: Dare to go further? Dare to tear me apart?
Ning Xuan rose to the bait, movements bolder.
Yu Yazhi trembled, gasping, her scent spilling into the air.
Knock, knock.
The door interrupted them.
Ning Xuan froze, heart pounding: “Who is it?”
Xu Ke’s voice: “Xuan jie, it’s me!”
Ning Xuan panicked: “I’m busy. No time.”
“What are you busy with? Xin Lie jie wants you to play mahjong.”
“I’m already playing.”
“Alone? Online? That’s boring!”
Her innocent tone made Ning Xuan’s face burn crimson.
Yu Yazhi, annoyed at the interruption, muttered: “It’s fun. I’m playing with my wife.”
Ning Xuan clapped a hand over her mouth, sweating in terror.
Outside, Xu Ke gasped: “Xuan jie, someone’s in your room? Your wife? Isn’t your wife supposed to be.”
Just as Ning Xuan was about to respond, Xin Lie’s voice rang out in the corridor: “What wife? Why are you taking so long to call her out?”
Xu Ke quickly stopped her from knocking again, explaining innocently: “Xuan jie’s wife is here. Don’t knock. They’re playing cards too, said they’re busy and won’t join us. I’ll call my brother instead. But really, what kind of card game can two people play? Four is more fun!”
Her naïve words made Ning Xuan want to bang her head against the wall. She truly felt like she had lost all dignity as a mentor.
Xin Lie, however, understood perfectly. She pressed her forehead and muttered to Xu Ke: “Xu Ke, hush.”
The silly child didn’t realize that kind of card game was far more entertaining.
Their voices faded away.
Inside, Ning Xuan’s passion dimmed. She covered her face, groaning: “Xin Lie jie must know everything now. I’m doomed. Tomorrow I won’t be able to face anyone.”
Yu Yazhi pulled her hands down, kissed her forehead, and teased: “That’s perfect. If you can’t face them, then tomorrow you’ll only face me, only stay with me.”
She brushed back Ning Xuan’s damp hair, coaxing: “Don’t be embarrassed. We’re adults. They have their own adult joys too.”
“Blame you.”
Ning Xuan laughed, pushing her down playfully.
Yu Yazhi fell back into the bedding, smiling: “Shall we continue?”
Ning Xuan nodded fiercely: “Of course. I can’t let this ‘card playing’ reputation go to waste.”
She had to make the metaphor real.
Yu Yazhi laughed until her body shook: “Ning Xuan, you’re too adorable.”
So adorable she almost wanted to flip the roles.
But Ning Xuan refused, determined to keep her position as the “ace,” serving with full devotion.
Yu Yazhi clung helplessly to her, trembling, body electrified, bones tingling. She wanted to cry out, but knowing Ning Xuan’s shyness, she bit her lip hard to stifle the sound.
By three in the morning, the four player mahjong game ended.
Xu Ke, now aware of the double meaning of “playing cards,” crept past Ning Xuan’s door, pressing her ear against it. Silence.
“They finished earlier than us,” she whispered to Xin Lie.
Xin Lie grabbed her by the collar, dragging her away: “That’s perverse.”
Xu Ke muttered: “Yu Yazhi looked so dominant. I doubt Xuan jie could ever be the attacker.”
Xin Lie glanced at the door, curiosity in her eyes, but more envy. Ning Xuan’s wife was passionate and proactive. If only Jin Min were half as eager, she’d be content. She sighed, she wanted to “play cards” too.
Back in her room, she messaged Jin Min: [Still awake? Want to play a different kind of card game?]
Jin Min, fresh from washing up, frowned at the text and replied with a sticker: [Giving you a look, figure it out.]
She wasn’t in heat. Why was Xin Lie always thinking of such things?
Xin Lie sent back a pitiful sticker: [Life has no meaning.]
Jin Min typed: [Sleep. We have filming tomorrow.]
Xin Lie perked up: [I remember we have a few passionate scenes. I’m looking forward to them.]
Jin Min blushed at the words, sending a sticker: [Hold down your restless self.]
It showed a brush pressing a pink pig’s head, cute and silly.
Xin Lie replied: [I want to be that pig.]
Jin Min: “…”
She wasn’t a pig. She was a wolf.
Dangerous, but loyal and devoted.
Jin Min wrestled with herself. Should she risk it? Marriage, children, family—all shackles she rejected. Yet Xin Lie craved them, embraced them. They were opposites.
Perhaps tomorrow afternoon, she should be ruthless and refuse her.
Meanwhile, Xin Lie’s messages kept coming:
[Why aren’t you answering?]
[Asleep?]
[Then good night.]
[I love you. Sweet dreams.]
Jin Min stared at them, then set her phone aside.
She lay down, tossing and turning for half an hour before sleep finally came.
But it wasn’t peaceful.
She dreamed, another nightmare.
Her mother, in a red dress, plummeted from a twenty story building.
Her body hit the ground like tofu, blood spilling everywhere.
She twitched twice, then lay still.
“Ah!”
Jin Min screamed, jolting awake.
Sweat drenched her, tears flooding her eyes. Another nightmare.
She gasped, covering her nose, as if the metallic stench of blood still lingered.
Outside, the sun was rising. A new day had begun.
Knock, knock.
A voice called: “Xuan jie, wake up!”
It was Luo Yuanyuan.
Ning Xuan stirred, opening her eyes to find Yu Yazhi’s warm body beside her, bare and smooth against her skin.
Memories of last night surged back like waves.
Her face flushed crimson, heart pounding like an earthquake.
“Mmm, awake.”
Yu Yazhi’s sleepy voice murmured, soft and dreamlike.
