Chapter 15: Your Highness is Sweet
“Yan Yunti, you…” Before Yuan Jingxue could finish her sentence, a soft moan was pressed out of her throat.
“Rest assured, Your Highness, I just washed them with water; they are clean,” Yan Yunti explained, while simultaneously curling her knuckles to let the ice-cold jade rings slide across the soft curves. “Don’t you feel hot, Your Highness? This will help cool you down.”
No wonder she had taken quite some time when she went down for water earlier; so, she had spent her effort on this.
How could such small rings provide actual cooling? They were clearly intended for something else.
As the cold jade touched the scorching skin, it instead began to grow warm. Yuan Jingxue frowned slightly. “Take them off.”
“No rush,” Yan Yunti said, one hand gripping the woman’s side, kneading it like a piece of fine jade. “Shall we continue, Your Highness?”
The floor heating was burning so fiercely that the moisture in their bodies was being rapidly steamed away. This was why Yan Yunti had paused midway to bring water—to replenish Yuan Jingxue’s fluids.
The woman’s crimson lips had just been moistened by the warm water, and the peaks of her lips were exceptionally full and tempting.
Yan Yunti’s gaze remained fixed there, while her curled knuckles pointedly moved lower. “Should we replenish a bit more water? Otherwise, what will Your Highness do if you run dry in a moment?”
A double entendre.
Yuan Jingxue leaned her lower back against a soft pillow, her brow arching slightly as her posture turned languid. “An Alpha as talkative as Miss Yan would likely be unpopular in a music hall.”
Yan Yunti didn’t get angry; instead, she laughed. She gave the woman’s slender waist a firm pinch and moved closer. “Then teach me, Your Highness—what should I do to make you happy?”
“Aren’t you ‘naturally gifted’?” Yuan Jingxue faced the Alpha with the poise of a superior enjoying herself. She raised a finger to tilt Yan Yunti’s chin up, her smile dismissive. “Let me see just how high Miss Yan’s talent reaches.”
With such a tone and posture, it was as if she truly treated her as an Alpha from a music hall to be toyed with at will.
The impulse to crush the magnolia flower rose once again in Yan Yunti’s heart. She released her scent even more densely without a sound, yet her expression remained pure and innocent. She lowered her head, pressing her lips against the woman’s pink fingertips, her teeth closing and lightly grinding against them.
Her phoenix eyes stared intently, shimmering with a light that seemed to ask if she was doing well.
Compared to her more outrageous actions, this was truly nothing. Yet Yuan Jingxue inexplicably felt her fingertips burning. She tried to pull her hand away, but Yan Yunti bit down firmer, closing in as the woman pulled back, until their noses touched before she finally let go.
Yuan Jingxue rubbed her fingertip against the white fox fur, turning her head slightly to hide her unease. She scolded: “Are you a dog?”
Biting whatever she saw.
“I can be.” As soon as Yan Yunti finished speaking, she directly silenced Yuan Jingxue’s exceptionally unforgiving mouth.
The beauty’s mouth was incredibly soft; no matter how much she tasted it, it was never enough.
While Yan Yunti tasted her methodically, she raised a hand to Yuan Jingxue’s neck. Her palm pressed firmly against the warm, flushed skin of the woman’s side-neck, while her long fingers reached behind to the nape, lightly touching and kneading the gland.
The two jade rings were carved with intricate and beautiful patterns. Yuan Jingxue hadn’t paid much attention when she chose them, but now that the patterns were grazing her skin, she realized how fine the craftsmanship was—fine enough that she could not ignore the existence of the rings.
The gradually thickening scent of fir enveloped Yuan Jingxue. The warmth after long exposure made her body relax into a state of comfort, becoming irresistible as she sank deep into it.
Yan Yunti’s fingers were long, and the index and middle fingers of her right hand, adorned with the jade rings, were particularly nimble.
The roaring floor-heating soon steamed away the moisture in Yuan Jingxue’s body once again. Her loose black hair was soaked with sweat and clung to her cheeks; her long lashes were tipped with translucent teardrops, and her narrow phoenix eyes were a hazy mist, the corners flushed a vivid red.
Pressing close to her, Yan Yunti raised her right hand. Right before Yuan Jingxue’s eyes, she pressed her lips to the two jade rings on her fingers, her tongue swirling away the moisture. She raised an eyebrow slightly. “Your Highness… you’re sweet.”
Seeing this scene, Yuan Jingxue felt her face burn even redder. She pushed the girl away. “Go get tea.”
“Alright.” Yan Yunti laughed, lowered her hand, and threw on an outer robe. She walked to the tea table, rinsed the jade rings with water along the way, and then brought back a full cup of warm tea, holding it out to Yuan Jingxue.
Yuan Jingxue reached out to take it, but Yan Yunti pulled her hand back. She said righteously, “No, I should be the one to personally serve Your Highness water. Otherwise, you’ll complain again that I’m not as attentive as the Alphas in the music halls.”
“And do you know how?” Yuan Jingxue countered.
“You’ll know once you try, won’t you?” Yan Yunti held the water to the beauty’s lips.
Yuan Jingxue’s lips parted slightly. Yan Yunti slowly tilted the cup, watching the tea moisten the woman’s bright red lips. As the liquid poured in, she could even see the pink tip of her tongue.
Yan Yunti, having just drunk water herself, felt thirsty again.
Since it was her first time serving someone water this way, she wasn’t very skilled. The tea accidentally overflowed, trickling down the chin to the collarbone, soaking a shallow layer of the thin blanket covering Yuan Jingxue.
Yuan Jingxue pushed the tea cup away. “It seems Miss Yan is not very good at serving people.”
Yan Yunti caught the underlying meaning. She poured another full cup and brought it over, saying patiently, “It’s no matter. If once isn’t enough, we’ll do it a few more times. I’ll satisfy Your Highness eventually, won’t I?”
The teacup wasn’t large to begin with, and since Yuan Jingxue’s thirst wasn’t yet quenched, she didn’t refuse.
When the cup was half-empty, Yan Yunti suddenly moved it away and leaned in. “Does Your Highness want to try a different way of drinking? I know a method the music hall Alphas are best at.”
“What method?” Yuan Jingxue instinctively felt something was wrong. She suspected another wicked idea.
“Your Highness is afraid to try?” Yan Yunti asked instead of answering. She pressed a hand to the side of Yuan Jingxue’s neck, continuing to close the distance. “Or perhaps, I served Your Highness so well just now that there’s no need for a different way.”
A clear use of reverse psychology.
Just being stared at by an Alpha while drinking was somewhat unsettling. Yuan Jingxue maintained her composure and said, “What is there to be afraid of?”
Yan Yunti suppressed a laugh. As expected. The Princess talked of music halls constantly, yet she had likely never stepped foot in such a place; otherwise, how could she not guess the method?
“Your Highness promised.” Yan Yunti quickly drained the tea, then gripped Yuan Jingxue’s jaw with her fingers, passing the water over in “another way.”
Yuan Jingxue realized what was happening the moment she started, but Yan Yunti’s movements were too fast, giving her no time to refuse.
The result of passing water this way was even more overflow, soaking the thin blanket further. Yan Yunti grabbed a corner of the blanket, intending to pull it away.
Yuan Jingxue pushed her away just in time, breathless. “Go pull the red cord over there. Someone will prepare water in the bathhouse.”
Yan Yunti was stunned. This means a bath?
But… she wasn’t satisfied yet. After only a few minor “grindings” in the middle, was the Princess going to ignore her just because she was full?
Yan Yunti felt stifled but couldn’t say anything. Since Yuan Jingxue had called a halt, it would be overstepping to continue bullying her.
Yan Yunti stood up and put on her inner robe. She pulled the red cord hanging at the other end of the couch, and a chime rang out in the side hall.
Soon, the main doors of the bedchamber were pushed open. A group of people entered with light footsteps, heading toward the bathhouse. After preparing the bathing supplies, Bawei walked to the outside of the partition and knocked twice. “Does Your Highness have further instructions?”
“The floor heating doesn’t need to be burned anymore,” Yuan Jingxue commanded.
Bawei complied and, seeing no further orders, turned and retreated quietly.
The inner chamber was at the westernmost end, while the bathhouse was at the easternmost; there was a distance to travel. Yan Yunti turned to see Yuan Jingxue standing up, a slight frown of discomfort on her brow.
For a moment, Yan Yunti truly doubted herself: Did I really do poorly today? But Yuan Jingxue had moaned so beautifully.
While doubting herself, Yan Yunti walked over to Yuan Jingxue. She picked up the fox fur from the couch, wrapped it around the woman, then leaned down to slip her arms under Yuan Jingxue’s knees, picking her up in a princess carry.
Yuan Jingxue’s frown deepened. “What are you doing?”
Yan Yunti carried her forward easily. “Since Your Highness said I served poorly, I naturally must make up for it. I’ll carry you to the bathhouse.”
Yuan Jingxue wanted to say it wasn’t necessary—she actually felt fine—but Yan Yunti walked fast, her pace steady even while carrying her. Her skin felt uncomfortably sticky anyway; bathing sooner was for the best.
Yan Yunti carried her into the steam-filled bathhouse, seeing a large cypress tub in the center. It was big enough to fit two people. However, Yan Yunti had self-awareness; how could the Princess possibly bathe with her?
Yan Yunti set her down and said formally, “I will wait outside. Call me when you are finished.”
Yuan Jingxue knew she was also covered in sweat. “I’ll have them prepare another tub for you in a moment.”
“Alright. Thank you, Your Highness.” Yan Yunti turned and left.
Yuan Jingxue waited for the door to close before shedding the fox fur and inner garments to step into the tub. As the warm water enveloped her, she let out a long sigh. While washing herself, she saw the faint red marks and teeth marks on her front. She couldn’t help but curse in her heart: Truly a dog. If she couldn’t bite, she just had to leave marks.
Yan Yunti sat outside. Suddenly her nose felt itchy, and she couldn’t help but sneeze. Looking at the two jade rings on her hand, she sighed again.
I guess that’s it for today. She was going to have another restless night. Didn’t the Princess notice at all that she wasn’t satisfied?
Yan Yunti spun the jade rings unhappily. The more she spun them, the more memories surfaced. If I had known, I would have lingered longer when I was kissing her… The more she thought, the hotter the gland at the back of her neck became.
Yan Yunti touched the gland. As she sighed again, her nose twitched. She sniffed carefully, and her eyes lit up!
This was… the magnolia scent? The Princess’s pheromones were leaking.
