After A Secret Marriage Agreement With A Rival Omega - Chapter 93
Chapter 93
◎ So it was the fragrance on your lips. ◎
“Perfect. One more for safety.”
Jian Jixing gripped the walkie-talkie, her eyes never straying from the monitor for a single second.
She had always known Sheng Ruxi was professionally capable, but collaborating with her in person allowed her to perceive this much more profoundly. With every take, Sheng Ruxi was able to interpret Jian Jixing’s vision with pinpoint accuracy; she was quick to understand and required no wasted words.
Working with an actor like this was both gratifying and exhilarating—it stimulated a constant stream of inspiration. Consequently, even though Jian Jixing was getting little rest, she remained high-spirited.
A director’s high creative passion is a blessing for the crew, especially for Lin Qie and Yang Chang. This was infinitely better than Jian Jixing’s previous state. Before Sheng Ruxi arrived, the air pressure around Jian Jixing was low every day; the staff didn’t dare ask questions or speak out of turn. Since Sheng Ruxi’s arrival, Jian Jixing’s mood had soared as if she were in a permanent state of being “pleasantly tipsy.” Everything had improved.
The story revolved around the personal growth of the character Yao Tai. Yao Tai was the absolute protagonist, and every scene was filmed with her at the center. During the table read, Sheng Ruxi had already felt a sense of uncanny familiarity with the script’s perspective and core. Discussing it with the two screenwriters, she discovered that this was a film Jian Jixing had created based on her own life trajectory. According to Jian Jixing’s plan, the film was being shot in blocks, so the script they received wasn’t complete.
According to reliable intel from Xiao Qian, this was because Jian Jixing herself hadn’t finalized what the ending would be.
Sheng Ruxi had originally wondered how long two locations could possibly take to film, but after three hours, she was so exhausted she lost her temper. She nearly forgot what Jian Jixing had promised her earlier.
What “reward after filming”? At the time, she had actually looked forward to what they might do back at the hotel. But after the intensity of this first day, she felt she wouldn’t need to worry about her weight for the next four months. Pure exhaustion alone would ensure she didn’t gain an ounce.
After finishing for the day, Qian Chunhe walked into Sheng Ruxi’s dressing room while Tuanzi was helping her remove her makeup.
“Miss Sheng, you really are the perfect Yao Tai,” Qian Chunhe said sincerely, watching her. “You know, before you, several actresses besides Teacher Yi Yueyang submitted audition clips. But none of them were like you…” She paused for a few seconds to find the right words. “None of them injected a soul into it like you do. It doesn’t feel like you’re acting a character from a script; it feels like you’ve actually lived through it.”
Sheng Ruxi gave a gentle, tired smile. “Thank you.”
How could it not count as having lived through it?
In the film, although Yao Tai’s life is never easy, she has a pen pal with whom she communicates constantly. Exchanges with this pen pal are pleasant; though they have never met, the person is Yao Tai’s spiritual pillar. Later, this becomes the key catalyst for Yao Tai choosing to face her inner fears and complete her personal growth.
If Yao Tai was Jian Jixing herself, then Sheng Ruxi had already guessed who that unseen, supportive pen pal was.
Back in the third year of junior high, she had gone to great lengths to pursue Chu Wu. She had paired a love letter transcribed from the internet with a small cake intended for Chu Wu. When she asked Jian Jixing to deliver it, the card fell out.
Originally, Sheng Ruxi hadn’t thought her transcribed love letter was “cheesy” at all. But after Jian Jixing picked it up and read it, she curled her lips, made a gesture as if her teeth were aching from the sourness, hissed, and then tossed the card back in with a half-smile. Not a word was said, but the level of insult was extreme.
Sheng Ruxi had felt incredibly slighted. At that time, she and Jian Jixing were already at odds, and she loved to go against her. She had snapped, “If you think you’re so great, why don’t you write it?”
Jian Jixing had slowly circled a glaring typo and said, “The grammar is nonsensical.”
Nonsensical grammar? It was just a typo because she wrote too fast! Did she really need to be so pedantic?
From then on, they engaged in a period of written exchanges. Sometimes, when Sheng Ruxi was too angry to let it go, she would write little notes during class to curse at Jian Jixing. Later, when seating arrangements changed and she was a vast distance from Jian Jixing, their notes crossed the classroom like a long river.
Now, Sheng Ruxi had almost forgotten the specific details of what they wrote back then; she only remembered the sense of competition and the refusal to back down. And yet, those contents had appeared years later in a script she was meant to perform. Only now did she realize that things she had once been indifferent to had, for a long time, served as Jian Jixing’s spiritual pillar.
“By the way, the crew will be releasing the official production stills tonight. From tomorrow onwards, things will definitely get busy over here,” Qian Chunhe said. “Miss Sheng, please remember to be careful.”
Sheng Ruxi nodded, pulling herself out of her wandering thoughts. She followed Qian Chunhe out. As the car door closed, Jian Jixing finally set down the crumpled script in her hand. She pulled Sheng Ruxi into her arms and took a deep breath at her neck. “Did you shower there? You smell so good.”
“I didn’t. It’s just the scent from my hair… Hey, don’t rub against me, it tickles.”
“Don’t move.” Jian Jixing couldn’t help herself, burying her face in the curve of Sheng Ruxi’s neck, sniffing and nuzzling for a long while. From the moment she brought Sheng Ruxi to the set this morning until now, she hadn’t had a single moment of private intimacy with her, unless they were discussing a scene.
“You said there was a reward? I think you just wanted a reward for yourself.”
Sheng Ruxi, unable to take the tickling anymore, turned her head to dodge, only to have the back of her head cupped by Jian Jixing as she leaned in for a kiss.
“Mmph…”
When she left the set, she didn’t know what had possessed her, but she had specifically applied a new lipstick. Now, it was being entirely transferred into Jian Jixing’s mouth. She closed her eyes tight, her heart racing under the subtle teasing.
During the day, to maintain her state as Yao Tai, she had been dejected and helpless. Sheng Ruxi always used immersive acting, and she was still somewhat submerged in those emotions in the dressing room. But now, Jian Jixing’s kiss pulled her back to reality in an instant.
Her tense nerves relaxed. Her pheromones responded to Jian Jixing, and her palms instinctively reached out to touch, wanting to be touched in return. Her body temperature inevitably began to soar.
The moment Sheng Ruxi’s hands wound around her, Jian Jixing gripped her waist and hoisted her upward. She felt Sheng Ruxi’s long eyelashes brush lightly against her cheek, effortlessly capturing her soul.
Jian Jixing didn’t open her eyes. She murmured slowly, “So it was the fragrance on your lips.”
A fragrant, sweet taste—like a blend of strawberry and cranberry.
The moisture mixed with pheromones was swept away by Jian Jixing’s tongue. Sheng Ruxi soon braced herself against Jian Jixing’s shoulders to prop up her upper body. She moved, and Jian Jixing lent her strength, cooperating perfectly. Thus, Sheng Ruxi knelt between Jian Jixing’s legs, pressing close, embracing her from above as they kissed.
Jian Jixing hadn’t expected Sheng Ruxi to be so proactive today. She had thought Sheng Ruxi would be too intimidated and exhausted by the intensity of the first day on set.
When Sheng Ruxi was proactive, she was passionate and did not restrain her desire. Her lips responded, and her hands pulled at Jian Jixing’s top, seemingly dissatisfied with how securely she was dressed.
The weather in Shanmi had already turned cold. Before getting into the car, Jian Jixing had placed her coat aside; she was now only wearing a thin silk oversized shirt, which still didn’t satisfy Sheng Ruxi.
The partition in the car had been raised, giving them full privacy.
Sheng Ruxi peeled at Jian Jixing’s buttons like she was peeling an egg. She cupped Jian Jixing’s cheeks, her touch unreserved. She pinched Jian Jixing’s earlobes, cheeks, and hair, then moved to her collarbone in a disorganized flurry. But Jian Jixing loved this—when Sheng Ruxi touched her fingers, Jian Jixing’s endurance reached its limit.
She pressed down on Sheng Ruxi’s waist and sat her down.
“You said it was a reward.” Because Jian Jixing’s hand was supporting her back, Sheng Ruxi wasn’t startled; she gave Jian Jixing a mock-reproachful look.
She was pressed down to lie sideways; where her top rolled up, a strip of cool, white waist was revealed.
“I’m giving you a massage.”
Sheng Ruxi’s gaze drifted toward the roof of the car, gradually becoming blurred, dizzy, and spinning. She didn’t know if their movements in the back caused the car to sway slightly, inviting imagination all along the road. Her face grew increasingly flushed, and even a thin layer of sweat broke out on her waist.
The “massage” was thorough—too thorough. Now, her entire body was shamed and uncontrollably limp. She felt she was truly useless, so easily mastered by Jian Jixing’s fingertips.
Not wanting to admit defeat, she curled her toes, only to realize her shoes had been removed by Jian Jixing at some point. Even though she was in a car, it felt like she was in their large bed at home, her whole body steeped in laziness. Looking at Jian Jixing again, except for her shirt being pulled open a bit by Sheng Ruxi, everything was in order. She was even sitting upright; if one ignored where her hands were, one would never know she was doing something so “wicked.”
She wanted to pinch Jian Jixing’s face, but her arms were sore and weak, devoid of strength. Jian Jixing leaned in of her own accord, letting her pinch her.
“If I had known this was your kind of ‘massage,'” Sheng Ruxi’s accusation was voiced softly, “I wouldn’t have signed the contract with you.”
Jian Jixing smiled slightly. She pulled her over and used her teeth to gently grind the slightly protruding area of her nape—a result of the intense stimulation. Sheng Ruxi had just reached the brink; at this moment, the slightest touch was overwhelming, let alone this. Her body began to shake.
“You’ve already boarded the pirate ship; don’t think about getting off.” Jian Jixing’s breath was above her. Sheng Ruxi nearly cried out. “Don’t do this.”
“I can’t stop.” Jian Jixing’s fingers pressed tight, applying force as she drove her canines in hard.
Sheng Ruxi’s struggle was futile. She didn’t dare make a sound here, so she could only grip Jian Jixing’s shoulders tightly. Her eyes went momentarily vacant and turned red.
How many times had she and Jian Jixing marked each other? Frequent, uninterrupted marking over a long period was a major requirement for a permanent mark. She felt pain, but her glands continuously released her pheromones, longing for a deeper union.
This time, Jian Jixing bit down very hard. For a few brief minutes, Sheng Ruxi knew nothing; everything was a blur. By the time she came to, she didn’t know how long the car had been parked. Jian Jixing carried her in her arms, getting out of the car to head home.
Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Even Sheng Ruxi’s speech became sluggish. “I have… filming tomorrow…”
“What a coincidence, so do I.” Jian Jixing’s voice was pleasant, clearly carrying a smile. “What were you going to say?”
Sheng Ruxi’s fingers gripped Jian Jixing’s lapel. She thought she was speaking through gritted teeth: “What I wanted to say is… no overindulgence.”
Jian Jixing probably felt that didn’t need to be said. She leaned down and kissed her, swallowing the rest of her words.
They opened the door and entered the bedroom. The first thing Jian Jixing did was take Sheng Ruxi to the bathroom to wash. As her body sank into the bathtub filled with warm water, Sheng Ruxi closed her eyes in relaxation, but she simultaneously called Jian Jixing’s name.
“Want to wash yourself?” Jian Jixing prepared the bubbles for her and asked gently.
“You do it,” Sheng Ruxi said without opening her eyes. “I don’t want to move.”
“Little lazybones. Now you don’t think I’m a hooligan taking advantage of the situation?” Jian Jixing had no intention of leaving. She picked up the showerhead, adjusted it to the softest setting, and began washing Sheng Ruxi’s hair. Listening to Sheng Ruxi’s muffled, slight sounds, her eyes were filled with tenderness.
Because she had made Sheng Ruxi kneel for too long in the car and her skin was delicate, when she lifted her in the tub, Jian Jixing clearly saw two red patches on her knees—evidence of their passion.
Perhaps because they had just marked once in the car, Jian Jixing now looked at Sheng Ruxi like she was looking at a fragrant, soft little cake. She wanted to eat her. Even though she knew Sheng Ruxi was currently in a defenseless state of total exhaustion, she wanted to bite her again and again. Multiple markings had made their bodies familiar with each other, and the longing only grew.
Jian Jixing suppressed the restlessness in her heart, trying to be fair and impartial as she performed her “service for the young lady.” She held a soft towel, dutifully drying Sheng Ruxi’s hair and then blowing it dry.
When she carried her to bed, Jian Jixing pushed down her ulterior motives. Her mind finally returned to the business at hand: they both needed to be in top form for work tomorrow. It really wasn’t a good time for overindulgence.
But Sheng Ruxi crawled into her arms herself, her long legs squeezing into place without hesitation. She looked up and asked, “My heat seems to have stabilized recently.”
Jian Jixing held her. “When is the next one?”
She only needed to ask about Sheng Ruxi’s heat to determine her own. Because only Sheng Ruxi’s pheromones during her heat could trigger her own rut.
“In half a month.” Sheng Ruxi toyed with Jian Jixing’s fingers, swinging them idly.
She suddenly looked up to meet Jian Jixing’s gaze. They were silent for two seconds. Following her heart’s guidance, Jian Jixing leaned down to kiss her, her palm resting on Sheng Ruxi’s back.
Sheng Ruxi felt she had zero defense against Jian Jixing’s kiss. She could only hang onto her. She felt the urge to slap Jian Jixing, but she was so weak it felt like a playful tease, making her face heat up. Especially when Jian Jixing caught her hand with a smile—her eyes seemingly asking what other tricks she had—Sheng Ruxi took a light bite of the hand Jian Jixing offered, leaving a harmless tooth mark.
“Jian Jixing,” Sheng Ruxi looked at her, her voice soft but clear. “So we can start preparing for a permanent mark now.”
