After A Secret Marriage Agreement With A Rival Omega - Chapter 100
Chapter 100
The North Star in My Eyes
The Dizhou Grand Hotel stood sixty-six stories high. Inside the VIP elevator, the world felt vastly different from the bustling city below. The ascent was slower, and the cabin could be toggled between a transparent sightseeing mode and total privacy.
With a subtle touch, Jian Jixing adjusted the settings. The transparent glass darkened, and the interior light softened. Sheng Ruxi had been looking out at the city, but the moment the door closed, Jian Jixing leaned in, catching her wrist and pulling her flush against her.
“What are you angry about?” Jian Jixing whispered. “I played along with your act, didn’t I?”
“But you didn’t finish it!” Sheng Ruxi turned to face her, leaning back into Jian Jixing’s embrace. “And I told you to come later, but you were so late.”
Jian Jixing chuckled. “If I hadn’t come late, how would I have had the chance to steal a drink with you?” Her pheromones began to drift, wrapping around Sheng Ruxi like an inescapable cage. Her voice remained calm and steady, yet she spoke words of flirtation, her warm breath grazing the shell of Sheng Ruxi’s ear before moving to the vulnerable curve of her neck.
“Smooth talker,” Sheng Ruxi murmured, her body’s senses heightening instantly. The memory of their secret contact under the table flashed back. Even though she tried to stay rational, the small space was soon thick with the scent of both their pheromones.
“You already… last night…” Sheng Ruxi bit her lip. She knew this wasn’t the place for a “round two,” even if her body was betraying her.
“Last night wasn’t enough.” Jian Jixing’s fingers traced the ring on Sheng Ruxi’s finger. “Can I put mine on now, too?” She had been carrying hers in her pocket.
“Who cares if you wear it or not.”
“I want you to care.” Jian Jixing pressed a light kiss to Sheng Ruxi’s reddened gland. “Call me.”
“Call you what?” Sheng Ruxi watched the floor numbers descending, her eyes dazed.
“You don’t know?” Jian Jixing pressed her thumb against the gland. “Still don’t know?”
Sheng Ruxi pressed her lips together to stifle a sound, but her body was honest—she felt herself becoming a part of a warm, rising tide. Just as she was about to lose herself, the elevator’s automated voice chimed: “Dear VIP guest, we have reached the 10th floor. Your sightseeing tour is coming to an end. We hope to see you again—”
Snapped back to reality, Sheng Ruxi pushed Jian Jixing away. “We’re almost there!” she gasped. If they walked out looking like this, it would cause a scandal.
“There? Not yet.” Jian Jixing stayed glued to her neck. “Just one more bite. You still haven’t called me.”
“No…”
One second before the doors opened, Sheng Ruxi bit Jian Jixing’s earlobe, shoved her back, threw on her sunglasses, and marched out. She saw Jian Jixing’s car across the street.
What she didn’t know was that Chu Wu and the other classmates had taken a standard elevator and were right behind them. Chu Wu saw Sheng Ruxi walking ahead and Jian Jixing following, slipping a ring onto her own finger with a practiced motion.
Chu Wu froze. The ring was an obvious match to Sheng Ruxi’s—and both were on their ring fingers.
In the next moment, Jian Jixing caught up and pinned Sheng Ruxi against the car. The classmates behind them panicked. “Quick! Stop them before they start fighting!” “Jian Jixing never backs down, they’re going to tear each other apart!”
But as they rushed closer, the dialogue they overheard wasn’t a fight. The “arrogant” director was nuzzling Sheng Ruxi’s neck, her fingers tightly interlaced with Sheng’s, pinning her hands behind her back. Their matching rings were blinding.
“Just one bite… please, Wife,” Jian Jixing pleaded.
Sheng Ruxi, unaware of the crowd behind her, snapped, “You said the same thing in bed last night. Not even half a bite!”
The entire group, including Chu Wu, stood frozen. “What… what is happening?” someone whispered.
Bad news: The two rivals fighting over the “White Moonlight” were fighting. Good news: The fight seemed to have taken place in a bedroom. Even better news: The White Moonlight already knew.
Jian Jixing heard them. To protect Sheng Ruxi’s flushed face from prying eyes, she pulled her into a tight embrace, shielding her face with her hand.
“Sorry, my wife is a bit shy. We’re heading home first,” Jian Jixing said, her voice now perfectly serious and protective. She waved casually. “If you have time, come to the film festival tomorrow.” She looked down at the woman in her arms. “Sheng Ruxi, shall we go? Want to say goodbye to everyone?”
Sheng Ruxi, her heart hammering, realized the secret was out. She took off her sunglasses, her eyes bright and no longer stubborn. “Goodbye, everyone… Goodnight?”
She looked so incredibly obedient that Jian Jixing wanted to hide her away forever. As the car pulled away, Chu Wu smiled at the window and whispered, “Congratulations.”
…
The Awards Ceremony
At 6 PM the next day, the red carpet was a frenzy. When Sheng Ruxi arrived, the crowd erupted. On the big screen inside, Jian Jixing sat in her reserved seat, watching.
When Sheng Ruxi reached her, Jian Jixing naturally reached out to lift the train of her gown so she could sit. “So well-behaved,” Sheng Ruxi teased, pinching Jian Jixing’s cheek. “Serving you is my duty,” Jian Jixing replied.
As the awards began, the internet was melting down: “Since when did they get so close?!” “Wait, look at the rings! Are they wearing the same one?!” “It’s time for Best Actress!”
“The winner for Best Actress is… an old friend,” the host announced. “The portrayer of Yao Tai in the Wilderness, Sheng Ruxi—Congratulations!”
As Sheng Ruxi stood up, Jian Jixing whispered in her ear: “I didn’t forget our promise.”
Sheng Ruxi took the stage, her heart racing. Then came the moment for Best Director. Sheng Ruxi opened the envelope and her eyes met Jian Jixing’s. “The Best Director is—Jian Jixing.”
Jian Jixing took the stage and grabbed Sheng Ruxi’s hand. “Thank you,” she said to the mic. “But for me, the most celebratory thing isn’t this award. It’s that I finally found a legitimate opportunity to stand on the same stage as the leading lady of my life.”
The crowd went silent as their matching rings were displayed on the giant screen. “We’ve been legal for so long,” Jian Jixing said, “isn’t it time to give me a formal title, Wife?”
The venue exploded into screams. “We agreed,” Jian Jixing’s voice was soft but clear through the microphone. “You deserve the best. I wanted to prove our worth to the audience before asking for my title. For years, I teased her and acted like a rival because I was too immature to admit I didn’t want to lose her. I was afraid to lose control of my heart.”
Jian Jixing laughed. “She taught me how to face my heart. Her vitality covers my flaws. She’s honest with her love and her anger. She’s the one who knows if I’m truly full or just pretending.”
Sheng Ruxi smiled, pinched Jian Jixing’s face, and looked into her eyes. “I’ll allow it.” She then laced their fingers together, showing the rings to the world. “Are they pretty?”
…
Epilogue
That night, under a crescent moon on their balcony, the two embraced.
“Was everything you said on stage true?” Jian Jixing rested her chin on Sheng Ruxi’s shoulder. “Ancestor, I’ll say whatever heart-felt words you want to hear. I have all of them for you.”
“Your heart is beating so fast,” Sheng Ruxi noted, leaning against her chest.
“It’s beating in the right place now,” Jian Jixing replied. “Before you, I never felt like my heart was where it belonged. I had no target for the future and couldn’t face the pain of the past. I had everything, yet felt I owned nothing. But you were always firm. You chose me, and for that, I am grateful.”
Jian Jixing used to hate falling asleep when she was happy, fearing the joy would vanish upon waking. “Jian Jixing,” Sheng Ruxi turned around and pointed to the sky. “What is that?” “A star.” Sheng Ruxi pointed at her. “And what is this?” “A… big star?” Sheng Ruxi pointed to her own eyes. “And here?” “Beautiful eyes.”
Sheng Ruxi kissed her. “In my world, stars used to just be things in the sky. But after I met you, a star fell into my eyes. It is the most special, the best, and the brightest North Star.”
Jian Jixing’s heart melted. They kissed, the memories of their fourteen-year journey—from bickering teenagers to lovers—swirling like a kaleidoscope. The “rival” who burst into her room that night had reconnected their lives forever.
The secret dreams had become reality. A beautiful, new future was waiting for them to explore together.
“Goodnight, my love.”
