After a Flash Marriage with a Professor - Chapter 54
Chapter 54: Simple Rabbit
“Sea salt flavored?” Ming Shu blinked in confusion.
Looking at Ming Shu’s slightly reddened eyes, Shen Junlan understood almost instantly. Ming Shu didn’t get it.
Her little rabbit wife was too pure.
“I think they have sea salt flavored drinks at the supermarket,” Ming Shu said thoughtfully. “A sea salt flavored kiss should be pretty easy to get.”
Shen Junlan couldn’t help but smile.
Ming Shu also smiled. “Professor Shen, did you already buy some?”
“No need to buy. You have some.”
“I do?” Ming Shu was even more confused.
“Where do I have some?”
“Right here.” Shen Junlan leaned forward slightly, lifted the hem of the bathrobe, and reached down, like a swimming snake gently sniffing a delicate flower.
Ming Shu finally sensed the danger, closed her legs, and tried to move away.
She seemed to have understood.
Shen Junlan had achieved her teaching goal and returned to her normal position, putting her arm around Ming Shu’s waist and pulling her back into her embrace.
“Wife, you’re too pure.”
Ming Shu squirmed uncomfortably in her arms. “Is it pure or just ignorant?”
“Pure. No one is born knowing these things. It’s okay not to know. I’ll teach you slowly.”
Ming Shu lowered her head shyly. “I know a lot more now than I did at the beginning.”
“You are still this pure.”
“Why do you say that?” Ming Shu didn’t understand. She felt that she was a blank slate in this regard before, but now, under Professor Shen’s guidance and teaching, she had learned a lot. Sometimes she would even think about these things involuntarily. How could she still be pure in thought?
Ming Shu felt ashamed, and her cheeks were particularly hot.
“An impure person wouldn’t blush so easily,” Shen Junlan said, hugging Ming Shu tightly from behind, and repeated her request.
“Wife, I want a sea salt flavored kiss. Can I have one?”
After knowing what a sea salt flavored kiss was, Ming Shu could no longer agree as easily as before. She felt a lot of psychological pressure.
There… there… how could she kiss there?
It seemed… it was possible. Ming Shu recalled the information she had once gathered. She had looked at it seriously a few times, but at the time, she thought she would learn it to better serve Professor Shen. But now, it was Professor Shen who wanted to kiss her.
That place was so private. She herself rarely touched it. Being enlightened by Professor Shen and trying to use her hands was already a huge challenge for her. How could she kiss it with her lips, and Professor Shen’s lips at that?
“It’s dirty, Professor Shen. Can you ask for something else?” Ming Shu said, squirming.
Shen Junlan smiled and said, “It’s not dirty, and I won’t change my request.”
Ming Shu’s throat constricted. The place she herself was afraid of being dirty, how could Professor Shen…
She couldn’t think of any other way to refuse. Ming Shu gently squeezed her legs together and felt a thin layer of cotton, which gave her an excuse.
“It’s dirty, Professor Shen. I’m still on my period.”
Shen Junlan chuckled and said, “It’s almost over, isn’t it?”
“…Mhm.” Ming Shu answered weakly.
“I’ll wait until you are psychologically ready, okay, Wife?”
Ming Shu didn’t dare to agree.
Shen Junlan continued, “It will be more comfortable than what I taught you before. Just overcome the psychological barrier. I’ll wait for you.”
Overcoming the psychological barrier. Ming Shu felt this was a major undertaking and didn’t dare to agree easily.
“Wife, I really want to taste your pearl oyster.”
The mention of the pearl oyster suddenly brought back memories. Ming Shu remembered the day Professor Shen took her to the beach and showed her how to pick up seashells. Professor Shen had said the same thing then.
It was so long ago.
Had Professor Shen endured for so long?
“Professor Shen, you…” Ming Shu pondered for a bit, unable to find the right words to ask.
“What? Why don’t you finish your sentence, Wife?”
“I’m afraid I’ll offend you.”
“It’s okay. Ask. You have lifelong immunity to speaking your mind with me.”
Ming Shu couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s a big privilege.”
“So, Wife, hurry and finish your sentence.”
“Alright.” Ming Shu cleared her throat and asked seriously, “Professor Shen, have you endured for so long? Will it cause any problems with your health?”
“It’s very difficult, but it’s not unbearable. So many years have passed.”
“That must be so hard. Why do you have this illness?”
Shen Junlan gave a bitter laugh. She couldn’t say it. “Wife, you can search for the causes yourself.”
Hearing this, Ming Shu took her phone and searched in front of Professor Shen. It turned out this illness actually existed and wasn’t something Professor Shen had just made up based on her symptoms. Ming Shu was deeply shocked.
She clicked on the “causes” section and saw a few main reasons: family environment of origin, negative guidance from parents, and psychological suppression.
Ming Shu briefly read through the illness-related content and then turned off her phone.
She hugged Professor Shen tightly and said, “Professor Shen, you have me now. I will try my best and won’t let you suffer so much alone in the future.”
“No need to try. Relax. Just hand everything over to me and enjoy it.”
“What about Professor Shen?”
“When you’re happy, I’ll be happy too.”
Ming Shu said, “I can help you now. I have prepared myself psychologically, at least in part.”
Shen Junlan smiled. “Does my wife still have the idea of taking the dominant role?”
“Not really.” Ming Shu looked up, meeting Professor Shen’s eyes seriously. “I just feel like I should do a little more for Professor Shen.”
“My wife should lie down a little more for me.”
“Professor Shen, do you really like me like this?” Ming Shu thought of a popular term now, “lying down like a salted fish,” where you don’t have to do anything.
“Mhm, I like my wife.”
A sweet feeling rose in Ming Shu’s heart, threads of sweetness flowing from her heart like a thousand delicate strings.
When she was with Professor Shen, Ming Shu seemed to be a beautiful salted fish, not having to do anything. She used to feel uneasy, guilty, and that she did too little for Professor Shen. Now that she understood Professor Shen’s true needs, she felt some relief.
If lying down is what she wants, then so be it. As long as Professor Shen is happy. She didn’t think she could learn to take the initiative anyway.
Ming Shu turned her head and looked back. She could no longer see the moon. It was hiding behind some cloud.
“The moon is hiding, Professor Shen.”
“The moon is asleep, Wife. We should rest too.”
“Aren’t we going to wait for news from Old Liu and Aunt Zhang?”
“Let’s wait in bed.” Shen Junlan reached out and closed the curtains, then guided Ming Shu to rest.
Ming Shu put down the tissues she used to wipe her tears and nose and said she needed to wash her hands. Only then did Professor Shen let her go.
Back in bed, they lay on their sides, facing each other, their gazes following and intertwining.
Ming Shu loved the feeling of gazing at each other with Professor Shen, as if there were only the two of them in the world, and they only had each other in their eyes.
“What time is it?”
“It’s a little after 3 AM. It’s afternoon in our home country. Wife, you sleep first. I’ll wait a little longer.”
“I’ll wait with you.”
Just as Ming Shu finished speaking, Professor Shen’s phone rang. It was still Old Liu’s number calling. Shen Junlan answered immediately.
“Old Liu, how are things?”
“Junlan, it’s me,” a slightly weathered man’s voice said. “It’s your father.”
Shen Junlan frowned. “I haven’t had a father for a long time. Shen Muhua, don’t try to plead for Qiao Qian as my father. Give the phone back to Old Liu.”
“Old Liu is right here, Junlan. He can hear everything you say.”
Shen Junlan was half-believing and half-doubting, afraid that Old Liu was being threatened. She cautiously asked, “Old Liu, what are the results of your and Aunt Zhang’s check-ups?”
Old Liu stood nervously on the side, clasping his hands. He was originally Madam Shen’s driver and knew all about the entanglements between Mr. and Madam Shen. After Madam Shen left, he was not supposed to be able to continue working, but Professor Shen had kept him on. Aunt Zhang, who had a similar fate, and he had both served Madam Shen since she was the gentle and dignified Miss Fang, specifically assigned to take care of her.
He hadn’t seen Mr. Shen for a long time. Mr. Shen’s appearance hadn’t changed much. He was well-preserved and had an elegant demeanor, but his weathered eyes showed a clear sign of aging and weariness. A few white hairs were revealed at the roots, not in harmony with his black hair.
He also knew that Mr. Shen was not as refined as he appeared. This was just the most superficial layer of his skin. It was this beautiful facade that had enticed the naive Miss Fang. The two families married, and in the beginning, Miss Fang seemed incredibly happy, but the good times didn’t last. Alas…
As an outsider, Old Liu felt the pain and didn’t want to think about the details.
“What are you thinking about? Junlan is waiting for your reply.” Shen Muhua urged in a cold voice.
Old Liu was abruptly pulled from his memories, feeling as if an age had passed. Miss Fang’s daughter, Professor Shen, was waiting for his reply.
“Professor Shen, I’m here.”
Shen Junlan heard the clear fright in Old Liu’s voice and asked directly, “Did Shen Muhua threaten you?”
“No.” Old Liu was telling the truth. Perhaps old people couldn’t help but get lost in their memories. Mr. Shen had also remembered some of the past wrongs he had committed and felt a little more compassion for the people who had once cared for Madam Shen, Miss Fang.
“Have you had your check-up?”
“We did. Aunt Zhang has a fractured pelvis. The doctor said she needs to be hospitalized and rest for a period of time depending on the situation. Jiajia is with Aunt Zhang. I have no major problems.”
“Really no problems?”
“Really.” Old Liu said, “Absolutely true. Professor Shen, you don’t have to worry. We are small people; our lives aren’t that precious.”
“Don’t say that, Old Liu.” Shen Junlan said in a low voice. “I wouldn’t feel good if something happened to you or Aunt Zhang.”
Shen Junlan deliberately said this for Shen Muhua to hear, hoping that Shen Muhua would have more conscience and not continue to be blinded, only caring about his mistress’s daughter.
Shen Muhua had been in the business world for many years and had seen countless struggles and betrayals. How could he not hear his daughter’s obvious hint?
“Junlan, I’m sorry about you and your mother. I’m using Old Liu’s phone to contact you today, and I have no other intentions. I just want to tell you that your father has always been thinking of you, and I have plans for you.”
“Stop pretending. You’re here for Qiao Qian, aren’t you? There’s nothing to discuss. She trespassed in the villa my mother left me and injured Aunt Zhang and Old Liu. Do you think this is a small matter?”
Shen Muhua sighed. “Junlan, Xixi is young. She just likes you.”
“She just likes me?” Shen Junlan scoffed. “Shen Muhua, you’ve lost your mind. We have already severed our relationship. Whatever you do for Qiao Qian and her mother has nothing to do with me, but please control them, and yourself. Don’t come and disturb my life.”
“Junlan, blood is thicker than water. You are my daughter, after all.”
“Qiao Qian is the daughter in your heart.”
“Xixi is your Auntie Qiao’s daughter. You have an arranged marriage.”
“Heh.” Shen Junlan’s tone was sarcastic. “So, by severing the relationship like this, you can brazenly be with Qiao Li and still try to bind Qiao Qian and me together? Shen Muhua, aren’t you disgusted with yourself?”
“Junlan!” Shen Muhua lost control and roared for a moment, then quickly suppressed his emotions. “Junlan, your father is planning for you. I want to give you a portion of the family assets. You and Xixi together can protect them.”
“I don’t need it. My life is very good now. Your money, I find it dirty.”
“Also, I have a wife now, and I love her very much.”
