- Chapter 72 - Extra Two: Live Dating Variety Show (Three)
“Why are you taking my glass?”
Qi Puzhi frowned slightly, her lips pursed in a stubborn pout as she glared at the younger woman who had heartlessly snatched her cup.
Jiang Tian gently patted her head, coaxing her in a soft voice, “This wine is too strong, you’re a little drunk. Let’s not drink anymore, okay?”
Qi Puzhi blinked, staring at her as if struggling to process the meaning behind her words.
Then, growing even more upset, she muttered dejectedly, “Not even letting me drink… You promised to spoil me when we got married”
The more she spoke, the more aggrieved she felt, and tears began to spill uncontrollably, rolling pitifully down her cheeks.
After over two years of Jiang Tian’s utterly indulgent pampering, the current Qi Puzhi had become increasingly unreasonable and unpredictable.
Normally, Jiang Tian knew exactly how to handle her, just coax her into the shower, make love a few times, and she’d eventually calm down and sober up.
But right now, they were in the middle of a live broadcast, and the house they were in wasn’t where they’d be staying that night, so a shower wasn’t an immediate option.
Worried that her wife might do something shocking on live stream, Jiang Tian wiped her tears with a tissue while sweet-talking her:
“It’s not that I won’t let you drink, baby. Look, the bottle’s already half empty.”
Seeing that Qi Puzhi still stubbornly refused to let go, she paused, then deadpanned some nonsense:
“You’ve already destroyed half of it, and it’s very sad, so”
Perhaps the alcohol content really was too high, and now that the effects were kicking in, Qi Puzhi felt even dizzier than usual when drunk.
Her muddled mind followed Jiang Tian’s train of thought.
Jiang Tian watched her expression, relieved when Qi Puzhi seemed to believe her and finally released the glass.
But then, the woman’s tears suddenly fell even harder, and she hugged the bottle, sniffling softly:
“I’m sorry, don’t be sad”
She began earnestly apologizing to the bottle, her face full of guilt and remorse, mixed with a hint of helplessness.
Jiang Tian: “…”
Sorry, but even though this was her beloved wife, her first reaction to this scene was the urge to laugh.
Jiang Tian struggled to hold back her laughter, but her lips still curled slightly, and her shoulders trembled.
[ I just went to get takeout, how did I come back to see Teacher Qi hugging a bottle with teary eyes?]
[HAHAHAHAHA, Teacher Qi is such a sweet, polite angel, why is Jiang Tian tricking and bullying her wife!]
[Does anyone get it? I’m in class right now, trying so hard not to laugh like Jiang Tian.]
“Why are you laughing?”
Through her blurry tears, Qi Puzhi sniffled and accused the person who wasn’t comforting her but secretly laughing instead.
Jiang Tian coughed lightly, continuing to wipe her tears as she said solemnly, “Because the bottle forgave you. I’m happy for you.”
Qi Puzhi blinked but didn’t speak.
Her guilty expression softened slightly, as if she believed Jiang Tian’s claim that “the bottle forgave you.”
Jiang Tian’s heart melted at the sight. She leaned in to peck her lips, squeezed her hand, and said gently,
“Wait here for me, okay? I’ll go ask the staff for some hangover medicine.”
She wanted to go alone because she knew a sober Qi Puzhi wouldn’t want to face the staff with red, teary eyes.
Even though millions of viewers had already seen it.
But, one or two fewer witnesses might still make a difference.
Yet Qi Puzhi immediately pouted, “You’re not taking me with you?”
Jiang Tian felt she had encountered a dilemma in life.
Should she indulge Qi Bule, coaxing her to happiness, or should she leave some room for Qi Puzhi to retreat when she sobers up?
How should she choose?
But the Qi Puzhi before her had red-rimmed eyes, gazing at her with a look that seemed to say, Don’t leave me behind.
Jiang Tian couldn’t help but relent.
So, with the human-shaped accessory known as Qi Bule in tow, she went to find a staff member.
The staff member, upon seeing the usually composed and elegant Qi Puzhi, now with slightly reddened, half-lidded eyes, lazily resting her chin on Jiang Tian’s shoulder while curiously sizing them up, experienced an internal earthquake of shock and didn’t dare look too closely.
She had seen how calm and dignified Qi Puzhi was during meetings.
This was a stark contrast.
Noticing the staff member’s evasive, almost panicked expression, Jiang Tian thought the person on her shoulder had done something.
She tilted her head and saw Qi Puzhi turn to look at her, blinking those beautiful eyes, innocent and well-behaved.
Well, with Qi Puzhi like this, doing nothing was already doing everything.
After getting the hangover medicine, Jiang Tian boiled water in the kitchen.
The medicine had to be dissolved in hot water, so Jiang Tian placed the cup in cold water to cool it down.
Qi Puzhi watched her busy movements and asked, “Does this taste good?”
The packaging said it was bitter. Considering Qi Bule’s temperament, Jiang Tian worried she might refuse to drink it, so she hedged:
“I’m not sure, but it’ll make you feel much better.”
“I feel great now,” Qi Puzhi murmured, draped over Jiang Tian, barely needing to stand on her own. It was incredibly comfortable.
Jiang Tian chuckled softly, helpless and knowing. “But you might not feel so great in a few hours.”
After being seen by the live audience in such an clingy state, Qi Puzhi would likely suffer some psychological torment later.
After a while, Jiang Tian took a sip to check the temperature before drying the cup and handing it to Qi Puzhi.
“Wifey, you’re so meticulous.”
Qi Bule praised whatever came to mind. And did whatever she wanted, leaning in to kiss Jiang Tian’s cheek.
“And so pretty,” she added.
Absolutely adorable.
If only she hadn’t immediately taken a sip of the medicine and then frowned at the bitterness.
Jiang Tian had always been endlessly patient with her, coaxing her through every whim.
If the medicine was bitter, she found candy; guided Qi Puzhi to finish the whole cup, never forgetting timely encouragement and praise.
The live audience sighed in admiration:
[Jiang Tian is so patient, coaxing her nonstop the whole way.]
[Now I get why their pre-show interview said they’ve never had a fight in over two years. With this kind of attitude, how could they even argue?]
[But honestly, who could harden their heart against Qi Puzhi like this? She’s so sweet and clingy when drunk, I’m dying from the sweetness.]
[Jiang Tian’s eyes are full of “my wife is adorable.” Drunk Qi Puzhi is so sweet and affectionate, I’m obsessed.]
Seeing Qi Puzhi drink the medicine and seemingly settle down, Jiang Tian felt a slight weight lift from her chest.
So far, everything Qi Puzhi had done on the livestream was probably within the bounds of what she could accept after sobering up.
Not a complete disaster.
But she relaxed too soon.
After finishing the medicine at the dining table, Qi Puzhi slumped over as if sleepy.
Jiang Tian thought this position was uncomfortable and was about to carry her to the couch when the woman suddenly sat up.
“Hmm?” Jiang Tian paused.
Qi Puzhi pressed her lips together and complained, “The chair is too hard.”
Before Jiang Tian could react, Qi Puzhi had already adeptly straddled her, her eyes brightening slightly. “This is so soft.”
“…”
Jiang Tian’s lips parted as she looked up at the woman above her, wondering if this position was too bold for the live broadcast.
It seeme, acceptable.
But they had shared too many intimate moments in this pose before. With practiced ease, Qi Puzhi hooked her arms around Jiang Tian’s neck, leaning in close enough for their lips to almost touch, breath mingling.
Jiang Tian caught the intoxicating scent of alcohol mixed with Qi Puzhi’s usual crisp fragrance.
Her gaze dropped to those tempting red lips, yet she resisted the urge to kiss them.
Earlier in the kitchen, she had dared because she knew a sober Qi Puzhi would restrain herself.
But past experiences had taught her that “Qi Bu Le” wouldn’t.
If any sounds escaped, If Qi Bu Le’s hands wandered. If she said something shocking…
Even Jiang Tian wasn’t sure she could console the sober Qi-laoshi afterward.
So she held back, despite craving to pin this woman down and kiss her senseless for the past hour.
Yet, in Qi Puzhi’s haze, she remembered countless times they had tangled like this.
Jiang Tian would always kiss her with longing and burning affection.
Now, despite being so provocatively close, the other woman remained unmoved. A pang of disappointment struck Qi Puzhi, and the tears she had just managed to stop welled up again.
Her lips trembled as she whispered, aggrieved, “Why won’t you kiss me?”
Surrounded by cameras and high-end audio equipment, Jiang Tian was at a loss.
She wiped Qi Puzhi’s tears, pressing soothing kisses from her cheeks to her lips, barely holding back. “I want to.”
Even drunk, Qi Puzhi sensed her reluctance.
The disappointment deepened. She couldn’t understand why this woman gazed at her with such adoration yet refused to kiss her properly.
So she decided to try one last time.
Her already flushed cheeks burned hotter.
Suppressing her shyness, she traced Jiang Tian’s ear with her fingers, her lips brushing Jiang Tian’s as she spoke, breath warm and voice low, seductive: “Then kiss me again, Don’t you want to taste my tongue?”
Jiang Tian’s lashes fluttered.
For a moment, she felt split in two, half entranced by Qi Puzhi’s bold words, half crushed by the weight of the cameras around them.
[Holy shit, what did Qi-laoshi just say? Did I hear that right?]
[Help, is this something I’m allowed to hear?!]
[So lewd. Who knew sweet, soft Qi-laoshi could seduce her wife like this?]
“Ahem.” A stunned crew member barely managed to speak up, reminding her, “Jiang-laoshi, the live stream just got a warning”
Jiang Tian’s pulse raced.
She took a deep breath, tightening her grip around Qi Puzhi’s waist, her mind now fogged with intoxication too.
She silenced the woman above her with a kiss.
Better to stop any more shocking remarks. Some words were best saved for when they were alone at home.
(And maybe, just maybe, she was also a little jealous that Qi Puzhi’s current state was being broadcast to the world.)
The kiss was fierce but ended abruptly before Qi Puzhi could make a sound.
“Why won’t you keep going?” Qi Puzhi pouted, unsatisfied.
After being brushed off again and again, the already displeased Qi Bule couldn’t take it anymore.
For the third time, she burst into tears, intermittently accusing, “You weren’t like this before.”
“Before, you were already trying to take off my clothes.”
Jiang Tian reached out and covered Qi Puzhi’s mouth. Even as Qi Puzhi gave her a look of disbelief and pitifulness, she didn’t let go.
Panting heavily, she spoke with difficulty near her ear:
“Be good, Qi Bule. leave Qi Puzhi at least her underwear.”
