After a Contractual Romance with the Scumbag Movie Queen - Chapter 17
Qi Puzhi took another shower and turned on the exhaust fan to air out the room.
Wrapped hastily in a bathrobe, she stepped out of the bathroom and crouched beside her suitcase, rummaging for clothes to wear.
Just then, there was a knock at the door, and her phone, placed nearby, lit up with an incoming message.
She hadn’t expected Jiang Tian to arrive so soon. Qi Puzhi rubbed her temples as she stared at the clothes, agonizing over which outfit to choose.
After all, Jiang Tian was now a public figure, lingering at the hotel entrance for too long while waiting for her wasn’t ideal. If someone spotted her, it could cause trouble.
With that in mind, Qi Puzhi decided to throw caution to the wind. She slipped into the nightgown she had prepared earlier, threw on a long overcoat, and went to open the door.
Jiang Tian stood outside, fully masked with a cap and a face mask, waiting patiently.
The moment the door opened, a pale, delicate hand reached out and pulled her inside.
Jiang Tian stumbled slightly from the sudden tug, blinking in confusion at Qi Puzhi, who had just shut the door behind them.
“Jiejie?”
Her gaze lingered on Qi Puzhi’s face. The woman had clearly just showered, her long hair was still damp, her cheeks slightly flushed, and there was an almost imperceptible hint of something languid in her eyes.
Perhaps feeling a little guilty about what she had just been indulging in while thinking of Jiang Tian, Qi Puzhi turned away naturally, avoiding her gaze. “Did anyone pass by while you were waiting outside?”
Jiang Tian’s call had thrown her off, nearly making her forget about the ever-present paparazzi.
Though this hotel was owned by a friend and was somewhat more secure than others, and she had never been caught here before, she still couldn’t afford to let her guard down.
“No,” Jiang Tian replied.
She took a seat on a nearby chair, quietly watching as Qi Puzhi made a call to have the surveillance footage handled.
Only after giving thorough instructions did Qi Puzhi finally relax. She turned back to Jiang Tian.
The younger woman had already removed her mask and cap, revealing her strikingly beautiful face.
She sat with perfect posture, her gaze fixed on Qi Puzhi calm, focused, and unreadable. When she wasn’t smiling, she exuded an air of cool detachment.
If Qi Puzhi had once thought Jiang Tian only showed hints of assertiveness while street dancing, she now realized that perhaps this was simply who Jiang Tian was.
Qi Puzhi had watched every episode of Starlight Journey that featured Jiang Tian.
Offstage, she was just as composed aloof, reserved, yet undeniably commanding.
Even in front of Qi Puzhi, though she was usually gentle and obedient, there were moments when she revealed a more possessive, dominant side.
Like when she was jealous.
Or now.
“Jiejie doesn’t want to be involved in a scandal with me?”
Jiang Tian’s voice was soft, as if she were merely making casual conversation, but her gaze was deep and unyielding.
She stood and took a few steps toward Qi Puzhi.
Meeting her eyes, Qi Puzhi replied with deliberate ease, “Do you want to be involved in one with me?”
Jiang Tian pressed her lips together, then said meaningfully, “I saw the trending topics today…”
The moment she mentioned it, Qi Puzhi knew exactly what she was referring to.
That rising starlet had been pursuing her for a while. Their previous entanglement had already been caught on camera, sparking rumors. Then, not long ago, at a social gathering, the woman had deliberately thrown herself into Qi Puzhi’s arms while pretending to be drunk, though Qi Puzhi had shoved her away immediately.
“I saw the photos,” Jiang Tian murmured, continuing to advance.
Qi Puzhi instinctively took a few steps back until her legs hit the edge of the bed, causing her to sit down abruptly.
Bracing one hand against the mattress, she lifted her eyes to meet Jiang Tian’s gaze.
Her long hair was still damp, exuding a slightly disheveled beauty. The coat draped casually over her shoulders, revealing delicate and exquisite collarbones. When she was backed against the edge of the bed, her eyes held an innocent purity, and the way she looked up was utterly captivating.
Jiang Tian stared at her unblinkingly, then leaned down immediately after she stumbled and sat, reaching out to pull her into an embrace, their soft bodies pressed tightly together.
Qi Puzhi, who had been relying on their agreement to act without restraint, hadn’t expected her to suddenly embrace her like this. She froze slightly but, for a moment, didn’t feel the urge to push her away.
Her breath hitched as she reached out to steady herself on Jiang Tian’s shoulders. “You.” broke the agreement.
Then, the young woman’s cool voice sounded muffled by her ear, “Sister, did she also fall into your arms like this?”
“…” Qi Puzhi found it somewhat amusing and wasn’t in a hurry to hold her accountable for the agreement anymore.
She had always been adept at handling topics related to flirtation and mischief. So she pushed Jiang Tian back slightly and looked at her challengingly. “What if she did?”
This wasn’t the first time Qi Puzhi had teased Jiang Tian with her reputation as a heartbreaker.
But Jiang Tian gazed at her for a long time, unlike before when she would either put on a pitiful, helpless expression or straightforwardly admit she was jealous.
This time, she merely fell silent for a moment before saying softly, “Sister, let’s dry your hair first. Where’s the hairdryer?”
Qi Puzhi was taken aback, left unsettled by her reaction.
Was she angry? Or did she think Qi Puzhi was too much of a heartbreaker and wanted to end their contractual relationship?
Her emotions were complicated as she absentmindedly pointed to the cabinet beside the sofa, silently watching Jiang Tian fetch the hairdryer, plug it in, and begin drying her hair.
The hotel hairdryer was rather noisy. Jiang Tian’s fingers combed through Qi Puzhi’s silky hair, occasionally massaging her scalp with just the right pressure.
Yet Qi Puzhi couldn’t relax to enjoy it, too busy reflecting on whether she had teased the younger woman too far this time.
Lost in thought, her brows furrowed slightly, and she unconsciously bit her lower lip.
Once her hair was dry, Jiang Tian turned off the hairdryer but didn’t put it away immediately.
Instead, she gently turned the woman, who had been facing away toward her, then braced her hands on either side of Qi Puzhi, leaning in to study her expression. “Sister, are you upset?”
Qi Puzhi was momentarily stunned.
Jiang Tian had avoided responding to her provocation earlier, suddenly insisting on drying her hair, making Qi Puzhi think she had angered her.
So why did Jiang Tian now look like she was the one who had done something wrong?
But Jiang Tian gazed down at her, her thick lashes casting shadows over eyes filled with earnest sincerity. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that earlier. I knew it wasn’t true.”
“But even so, I still cared so much.”
The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Under the warm glow of the bedside lamp, the young woman’s voice was cool as jade as she laid bare her longing, exposing all her greedy thoughts before the woman she loved.
After a silent moment, Jiang Tian’s hands, braced beside Qi Puzhi, closed in again, pulling the woman tightly into her embrace.
Before Qi Puzhi could react, enveloped in the crisp fragrance and soft warmth, she felt a damp, ticklish sensation at her right ear.
Jiang Tian was gently nibbling on it, her teeth slowly grazing the tender flesh.
Qi Puzhi had never known her ears were so sensitive. A soft moan escaped her lips before she could stop it, and she flushed with embarrassment, biting her lip hard to suppress any further sounds as heat spread through her body.
Yet that soft hum seemed to trigger something in Jiang Tian. She held on tighter, her lips and teeth becoming increasingly teasing.
The earlobe was bitten until it ached slightly, then soothed with the gentlest of licks.
Qi Puzhi’s breathing grew rapid, her body weak. She wanted to push the other away but couldn’t muster the strength.
“Jiang Tian.”
She called out instinctively, her voice hoarse, unbearably pitiful and alluring.
“Hmm.”
Jiang Tian responded in a low voice, finally releasing her ear.
But before Qi Puzhi could catch her breath, Jiang Tian cupped the back of her head and kissed her again, this time with undeniable dominance.
Caught off guard, Qi Puzhi’s breath grew erratic, her eyes misty. When Jiang Tian’s tongue lightly probed at her lips, she regained some clarity and pressed them tightly together, refusing to let her in.
Jiang Tian, however, didn’t seem to mind. After being rejected, she obediently retreated.
Yet, somehow, wherever this little wolf had learned such tricks, even the mere brushing and light biting of lips left Qi Puzhi weak in both body and mind, unable to resist.
Struggling to cling to a shred of composure, she spoke between kisses, flustered and annoyed, “You, where’s the agreement?”
Jiang Tian’s voice was also slightly hoarse, laced with a teasing smile as she murmured, “Sister, weren’t you provoking me earlier because you wanted this?”
Whenever Jiang Tian took the lead in intimacy, Qi Puzhi never hid the pleasure it brought her.
Clearly enjoying it, yet too proud to admit it.
Her secret thoughts had been seen through and laid bare, but Qi Puzhi would never truly concede.
Stubborn to the core, she immediately scoffed, “You’re just making assumptions again.”
Jiang Tian chuckled softly but didn’t argue, instead pressing light kisses to Qi Puzhi’s lips, still spouting such contradictory words.
Claiming she didn’t like it, yet not resisting in the slightest.
The rustling of fabric and the sound of their kisses filled the boundless night, thick with unspoken desire.
“Sister… I missed you so much.”
The affection in Jiang Tian’s whisper burned like wildfire, scorching away Qi Puzhi’s pride and reservations, pulling her deeper into their tangled intimacy.
But Jiang Tian’s kisses seemed to lose their way.
As they trailed downward, Qi Puzhi felt an unfamiliar tingling between her collarbones, biting her lip to suppress the sounds threatening to escape.
Yet the kisses continued their mischief.
“Ah… stop!”
Qi Puzhi’s voice was nearly broken, the corners of her eyes flushed red. Her coat had been pushed aside, revealing the smoky blue nightgown beneath.
Between heavy breaths, she watched as the younger woman before her lifted her head, her expression a contradiction of innocence and mischief.
That contradiction was its own kind of provocation.
Jiang Tian obeyed instantly, withdrawing the moment she was told to stop.
Her dark eyes fixed on Qi Puzhi, she murmured with deliberate calm, “Sister, you’re not wearing a bra.”
Qi Puzhi was still dazed, the stimulation leaving her eyes misty, a hint of wetness escaping the corners.
She looked as if she had been pitifully bullied to tears, an intoxicating mix of innocence and temptation.
Unable to bear Jiang Tian’s burning gaze, Qi Puzhi covered her eyes with a hand, her voice tinged with irritation, “You, who gave you the nerve?”
That not-too-gentle bite through the fabric seemed to have imprinted itself on her body, still sending faint tremors through her.
When Jiang Tian occasionally forgot the agreement in moments of jealousy, Qi Puzhi had turned a blind eye, silently allowing it.
But this little wolf truly knew how to push her luck.
At half past one in the morning, Jiang Tian found herself standing outside the hotel room door, having been unceremoniously kicked out.
She glanced down the empty hallway, her eyes reflecting a mix of helplessness and indulgent amusement.
She would never do anything that Qi Puzhi was unwilling or uncomfortable with. Before her earlier actions, she had repeatedly confirmed Qi Puzhi’s emotional response.
It was shyness, not rejection.
So she had proceeded with confidence, though the woman’s flustered anger was entirely expected.
But so were her soft-heartedness and kindness. That’s why Jiang Tian wasn’t panicking, she simply stood quietly in place, waiting.
Sure enough, after a moment, the door opened again.
Qi Puzhi looked at her with an expressionless face. “Don’t misunderstand. I’m only letting you stay because I’m worried about Star Journey’s reputation if a popular contestant goes missing in the middle of the night.”
Jiang Tian blinked. “Thank you, jiejie.”
