After a Contract Marriage with a Cold and Older Person - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Can’t Sleep
Seeing Ji Wenxu’s expression that clearly hadn’t considered sleeping together at all, Song Tingyun said, “You can sleep wherever you like.”
Ji Wenxu’s face felt hot. He really hadn’t thought about sleeping in the same bed as Song Tingyun. After Song Tingyun mentioned it, his thoughts ran wild, and his face uncontrollably flushed.
“So, we’re sleeping on the bed?”
Song Tingyun pulled back the covers and lay down, “I’m sleeping on the bed. You do as you please.”
Ji Wenxu quickly leaped onto the bed after him. He lifted the covers and slipped inside, saying, “Then I want to sleep on the bed too.”
Song Tingyun glanced at him, then turned his back to him, slowly closing his eyes.
Ji Wenxu felt inexplicably nervous. He quietly shifted a little toward the middle of the bed, then said, “Song Tingyun, you can move further in. We’re both men, aren’t we? What’s there to be afraid of?”
Song Tingyun ignored him.
“Song Tingyun, you’re not asleep yet, are you? I can’t sleep! I’ve never slept next to anyone before.” If there was someone next to him, Ji Wenxu simply couldn’t fall asleep. It had been this way with a few friends before; he had been up all night.
“If you can’t sleep, count sheep,” Song Tingyun didn’t want to chat with Ji Wenxu.
Ji Wenxu propped up his upper body and pushed Song Tingyun’s shoulder with his hand, “Song Tingyun, talk to me for a while. We don’t get many opportunities to sleep in the same bed peacefully like this.”
“…” Song Tingyun didn’t want to talk, but hearing the total lack of fatigue in Ji Wenxu’s voice, he opened his lips, “What do you want to talk about?”
Ji Wenxu happily lay back down on the bed, “Just the past? Did anything interesting happen when you were in school?”
Song Tingyun, “No.”
“I don’t believe it,” Ji Wenxu said. “You can’t have been a complete bookworm, right?”
“I was,” Song Tingyun replied.
Ji Wenxu, “Even bookworms have interesting things happen. Just say whatever comes to mind. Say something that made you happy.”
“Since I can remember, I’ve been receiving awards, consistently… then receiving awards.” Song Tingyun felt that he was only truly happy at the moment he successfully achieved an answer, so receiving awards really was his happiest memory.
Ji Wenxu: “Stop, stop, stop! Your happy memories are just receiving awards?”
Song Tingyun, “Yes.”
Ji Wenxu, “Well, your past sounds really boring.”
Song Tingyun didn’t reply to him.
Ji Wenxu became curious again: “Then tell me about your first love?”
“I haven’t had one,” Song Tingyun said.
Ji Wenxu’s eyes widened, and he sat up again, “You’ve never been in a relationship?! You, you look like this, and you’ve never dated?”
Song Tingyun didn’t understand why his lack of dating experience was so shocking. He frowned, “Do I have to have been in many relationships?”
“Not necessarily,” Ji Wenxu said. “It’s just that I find it strange that someone as good-looking as you has never been in a relationship.”
Song Tingyun huffed, “I know.”
Ji Wenxu, “You know what?”
“That I’m good-looking.”
“…” Ji Wenxu laughed, “You really are not modest.”
“What about you?” Song Tingyun asked.
Ji Wenxu, “I haven’t dated, and it’s definitely not because I’m not handsome. It’s because I didn’t like them. Also, the people who initially said they liked me ended up saying they wanted to be friends with me shortly after. Why do you think that is?”
Song Tingyun, “I don’t know.”
Ji Wenxu thought, I don’t know either. “Then, do you have someone you like?”
Song Tingyun thought for a moment and said, “Yes.”
The person who had just laid back down immediately sat bolt upright. He grabbed Song Tingyun’s shoulder and excitedly asked, “Right now? You? You have someone you like?”
“Is that strange?” Song Tingyun found his excited reaction inexplicable.
Ji Wenxu nodded heavily. He couldn’t explain why he was so agitated, but he urgently wanted to know who it was and who was more handsome compared to himself. “What kind of person is he?”
Song Tingyun gently removed the hands clutching his shoulder and said, “I don’t want to tell you.”
I-don’t-want-to-tell-you.
Ji Wenxu felt like the sky was falling. “Why? Do I know him? Come on, what if I did? It’s not like I’d go cause trouble for them, right?”
“Hmm,” Song Tingyun closed his eyes, giving him a cold back.
Ji Wenxu, “Then tell me how you met them?”
Song Tingyun’s face was cold, “No.”
Ji Wenxu, “Are you perhaps in a one-sided love?”
Song Tingyun seemed provoked by his question and sat up too, “Is that any of your business?”
“It really is…” Ji Wenxu caught the look of annoyance on his face and cautiously asked.
