[ABO] The Despised One Becomes an Internet Sensation After Marriage - Chapter 58
Chapter 58
The atmosphere was a picture of peaceful, quiet years.
Xu Zhimian suddenly asked, “Do you think this counts as our honeymoon?”
Fu Shiyan put his phone away. “No.”
“Hmm?” The Omega’s eyes widened slightly.
“This is called a date.”
A date?
The idea felt novel; they had never truly gone on a proper date before. However, the thought of going on one with Fu Shiyan made his mood soar. He asked expectantly, “What are we doing next?”
“Back to the island.”
“Huh? But isn’t it a half-day luxury yacht tour? We’re going back so soon?”
This was barely anything—how could a date be this short!
Fu Shiyan pinched his chin, looking into the Omega’s slightly disappointed eyes and instantly guessing his thoughts. “The ‘one-day tour’ only requires us to complete the designated tasks. We can arrange the remaining time ourselves. Don’t you want to try some other maritime entertainment?”
Upon hearing this, Zhimian’s eyes immediately lit up. “I do!”
The yacht circled the island once before heading back.
“Mianmian—!”
Ye Ming’s shout drifted over from a distance. Two jet skis were cutting through the waves, one following the other. Ye Ming’s white hair was soaked; he had swept it all back, revealing a smooth, full forehead. He rode up close to the yacht.
Xu Zhimian waved happily at him. “Brother Ming! Are you doing a self-drive check-in?”
“Yeah!” Ye Ming arched an eyebrow at him. “Want to join us in a bit?!”
“Sure!” Xu Zhimian leaned forward, responding excitedly.
Fu Shiyan grabbed him by the collar and hauled him back, asking a very practical question: “Do you even know how to drive one?”
“…” Xu Zhimian’s excitement deflated instantly. He answered dejectedly, “Ah… no.”
Fu Shiyan ruffled his hair. “Do you know how to ride an electric scooter?”
Xu Zhimian nodded. “Yes.”
“The principle is basically the same.”
Fu Shiyan wasn’t lying. Xu Zhimian picked it up quickly and couldn’t wait to head out for a few laps. Once again, Fu Shiyan grabbed him by the collar.
“Don’t go too far from me, do you hear me?” No doubt, the previous drowning incident had left a lasting impression on the Alpha.
“I know, I know,” Xu Zhimian said, waving him off. Fu Shiyan checked his safety gear several times over before finally letting him hit the water.
Because he was a novice, Xu Zhimian started off very slowly. Fu Shiyan followed leisurely behind him.
With a “Whoosh,” Ye Ming left a trail of spray behind as he rocketed past Xu Zhimian. He shouted, “Mianmian, are you two in a retirement home? Hahaha!”
After one lap, Xu Zhimian had grown much more proficient. Rarely stirred into a competitive spirit, he increased the throttle and sped past Ye Ming. “Hey, I’m going first!”
Ye Ming happened to have a check-in task at a scenic spot ahead. He sped in front of Xu Zhimian and pulled a sudden, sharp brake to turn around. Xu Zhimian stopped abruptly, startled by Ye Ming’s sudden interception. His heart began to thud wildly.
What the heck? That scared me to death.
Ye Ming blew a whistle at him. “Hey, baby, how about we see who gets there first?”
Lu Ze, catching up from behind, was amused. “Baby, why are you bullying a patient?”
Only then did Ye Ming suddenly remember that Xu Zhimian had a heart condition. Usually, there were no symptoms to see, so Ye Ming instinctively tended to overlook it. He curled his lip with regret. “That’s a pity, baby—”
Xu Zhimian interrupted him. “It’s okay. It’s not far, only about 200 meters. Let’s give it a try.”
He was eager to go, but Fu Shiyan’s face behind him was grim.
Ye Ming immediately decided to flee. “Oops, I just remembered I have two more spots to check in. Forget it, maybe next time! Baby, we’re leaving first!”
“Oh… alright then.”
The disappointment came and went quickly. He nudged Fu Shiyan’s leg. “I heard there’s a Lovers’ Island nearby. I’ll take you there to play!”
He said he’d take him, but Fu Shiyan was still the one leading the way. Seeing how familiar he was with the route, Xu Zhimian asked in surprise, “Have you been here before?”
“I did some research.”
Xu Zhimian didn’t think much of it. In the age of information, a quick search would pull up all the surrounding attractions.
Standing on the island, he gazed at the distant skyscrapers. The sea breeze filled his sleeves as he looked at the boundless ocean. He suddenly turned to Fu Shiyan. “Did you know? I’ve longed for the sea since I was a child. And you were the first person to ever take me to see it.”
He was referring to three years ago. That was the first time Fu Shiyan had opened his heart to him, telling him that his mother was buried at sea.
His gaze met Fu Shiyan’s.
“We will see the sea many, many more times in the future.”
It was a solemn promise. The sea, vast enough to accept a hundred rivers. It felt as though all restlessness would be drowned by the ocean; it carried freedom and imagination toward an endless distance.
Xu Zhimian spread his arms wide. At this moment, he felt he had let go of countless things. This time, even the wind was free. He thought that after he died, he would also want his ashes scattered into the sea.
Hearing a click, Xu Zhimian immediately opened his eyes. Fu Shiyan was standing not far away, his brows slightly arched, his sharp eyes filled with a faint smile.
An indescribable tremor surged through Xu Zhimian’s heart. He changed his mind. Seeing Xu Zhimian turn his head, Fu Shiyan pressed the shutter again.
“…”
The Alpha was suddenly tackled into a full embrace. Unprepared, he stumbled back two steps, his phone dropping to the ground. But he didn’t care about that.
Xu Zhimian was hanging off him, his eyes sparkling like they held a crescent moon—he was stunningly beautiful. He gave Fu Shiyan a loud kiss and shouted, “Fu Shiyan, let’s be buried together after we die!”
Fu Shiyan blinked in confusion, but he didn’t ask questions. “Mm. Definitely.”
…
Throughout the day, no cameraman followed them. Fu Shiyan accompanied him through every entertainment activity, though he stubbornly refused to let Xu Zhimian touch anything with a high-risk factor.
It wasn’t until dusk began to settle that the two slowly made their way back to the hotel. On the road, Xu Zhimian suddenly stopped. He put on a pained expression, frowning as he tugged on Fu Shiyan’s sleeve. “Fu Shiyan, my feet hurt so much. I can’t walk anymore,” he whispered.
Fu Shiyan immediately supported him. “Did you sprain your ankle?”
“No…”
“Do you have blisters?”
“Not that either…”
His voice was as soft as a kitten’s, and his large, watery eyes looked at him expectantly. In truth, his feet didn’t hurt that much, but with Fu Shiyan by his side, he just wanted to be a little… dramatic. Just this once.
Since it wasn’t this or that, Fu Shiyan instantly realized the possibility. He turned his back to Xu Zhimian and crouched down. “Get on. I’ll carry you back.”
“How could I be so bold…” The Omega said it with his mouth, but his movements were lightning-fast.
He inhaled the scent of the gland at the back of the Alpha’s neck, his cool nose touching that spot where the Brandy pheromones mingled with his Jasmine. He loved this scent. He nuzzled into Fu Shiyan’s shoulder. “Fu Shiyan, how much longer until your rut?”
No Omega would ask an Alpha about their rut so directly. It was essentially like asking an Alpha, “Are we doing it?” But… they were legal.
Fu Shiyan feigned displeasure and gave him a little bounce. “What, I just spent one with you, and you’ve already forgotten how long the interval is?”
“No way!” Xu Zhimian hugged his neck tighter, negotiating, “For this next rut, let’s not go anywhere. Let’s just stay home together, okay?”
He wanted to be with him, every moment.
Fu Shiyan laughed silently. “Mianmian, why are you so clingy?”
Xu Zhimian’s face flushed slightly at the remark, but he persisted, whispering into Fu Shiyan’s ear repeatedly, “Is it a yes? Is it a yes?” Even though he knew Fu Shiyan wouldn’t refuse, he wanted to hear him say it.
Fu Shiyan turned his head, and Xu Zhimian’s lips brushed against his cheek. He leaned in closer, feeling the Omega’s breath on his face, and said in a low voice, “I’ll listen to my wife.”
Xu Zhimian joyfully kissed his cheek. “Okay! Fu Shiyan, you can’t go back on your word!”
…
Fu Shiyan carried him into the lobby. The other four had already returned and were sitting at the dining table. Dinner hadn’t started yet, and the personal livestreams were running. Ye Ming was occasionally chatting with the fans.
Fu Shiyan, carrying Xu Zhimian, walked right into the frame. The chat went wild.
[Chat]: AHHHHHHHHHH! We haven’t seen them for two hours! Mianmian and President Fu are finally back!! [Chat]: Waaaa, Mianmian looks so tiny on President Fu’s back. I want to carry him too!!
Ye Ming, seeing the netizens going crazy, instinctively looked back. As he turned, he revealed the livestream camera’s view. In the frame, Fu Shiyan was carefully setting Xu Zhimian down on the sofa. He turned around, and with one sitting and one crouching, they were eye-to-level.
Fu Shiyan was down on one knee. Xu Zhimian grabbed his neck, and the two shared a light, fleeting kiss. The atmosphere was thick with ambiguity.
The comment section went feral.
[Chat]: That’s it? Just a little peck? That’s not enough!! Kiss more, ahhh! [Chat]: Why does it feel like they came back from their trip even more lovey-dovey!!! [Chat]: Mommy needs to know! What did you play this afternoon!! President Fu, kiss him back! You’re just letting him go like that??
Ye Ming turned back to block the camera, causing a chorus of wails in the chat.
[Chat]: Ahhh, I want to see more!!! Ming-bao, move a little, just a little more footage!! [Chat]: Waaaa, I really want to know if President Fu kissed him back afterward!
Seeing his livestream become a “shipping” ground for the other couple, Ye Ming arched a brow. “You guys are going too far. Have you forgotten whose livestream this is!”
Despite saying that, Ye Ming shifted slightly, revealing Xu Zhimian and Fu Shiyan behind him. On the sofa next to them sat Zhou Yan and Ji Yan. They hadn’t turned off their stream either; they had been broadcasting all afternoon.
Zhou Yan was leaning into Ji Yan’s embrace, his eyes half-closed as he gave perfunctory answers to the chat. In contrast, Ji Yan was answering every word seriously while his hand rhythmically patted Zhou Yan. Their relationship had visibly improved.
Xu Zhimian gave Fu Shiyan a look. “Look over there.”
Fu Shiyan followed his gaze.
Xu Zhimian: “Zhou Yan really has some skills.” In just one afternoon, Dr. Ji had let him get close again.
“They’ve chased each other all the way to the third stop; the relationship was bound to be mostly repaired by now.”
Sharp-eyed netizens on Ye Ming’s side could read lips.
[Chat]: Hahaha, turns out celebrities like to gossip just as much as we do! [Chat]: Seriously, how is Zhou Yan’s pair doing? [Chat]: Zhou Yan definitely has skills. You should have seen him this afternoon—he was like a peacock with its feathers spread the whole time. Hahaha, I’m dying.
