- Chapter 8 - The Green Tea Transmigrates on the Eighth Day
Accompanied by a burst of mist dispersing from the doorway, Qin Yue emerged from the bathroom, clad in a nightgown and covered in steam.
The woman’s tall, mixed-race figure was sensual. Her exquisite, beautiful bare feet left a trail of light moisture as she walked. Above them were her smooth, straight jade legs, their constantly exercised muscles faintly visible with each step.
Qin Yue was wiping her hair as she walked towards the bedroom.
With her movements, the shoulder blades on her back, like wings about to take flight, were fair and smooth. Occasionally, damp strands of hair ambiguously clung to them, dripping small beads of water that traced her spine before disappearing beneath the whiteness of her nightgown.
Qin Yue’s usual cold aura was now dampened, and even her delicate yet aloof face had softened considerably.
As she looked down to dry her hair, a strand or two playfully kissed the corner of her rosy lips. The beauty’s raven-black hair hung long like silk. Her skin was as fair as snow, her pink lips were tender like rose petals, and her sapphire eyes, usually as calm as the sea, were now captivating.
The moist steam enveloped Qin Yue with an intoxicating allure.
Unfortunately, the sole audience who should have been privileged to witness this scene…
She was asleep.
When Qin Yue entered the room, it was pitch black and unusually quiet.
The window was open, however, and the thin, silver moonlight scattered down, picking out a subtle glow on the corners of the furniture, allowing one to barely make out the general layout of the room.
Qin Yue’s beautiful eyes narrowed slightly. She subconsciously scanned the bed and unexpectedly saw the small lump on the bed rising and falling rhythmically. She smiled wryly and shook her head.
On the massive double bed beneath the window, in the brightest spot illuminated by the moonlight, Meng Ziqing was soundly asleep.
After a day of constant nervous tension, she was simply too exhausted.
Meng Ziqing had intended to wait for Qin Yue to finish her shower, then take one herself before sleeping. But the trickling water sounded like a lullaby to her.
She didn’t experience the feeling described in the novel where the protagonist sits outside listening to the sound of the beauty showering nearby, their face flushing and emotions growing increasingly intense.
Not at all.
She just got sleepier the more she listened.
She needed to sleep.
Qin Yue quietly walked to the window near Meng Ziqing and gazed at her sleeping face.
Meng Ziqing looked vastly different when asleep compared to when she was awake.
The little one’s bright, smiling eyes were now obediently closed, her eyelashes casting a shadow like small fans. Her cherry lips were slightly parted, allowing a faint glimpse of her clear, pearly teeth. Her cheeks were rosy and softly squeezed together. She was hugging a Pompompurin with two green hats.
She looked as docile as a pampered, carefree little princess from a fairy tale.
Qin Yue leaned closer, her cool eyes languidly scanning the soft flesh squeezed onto Meng Ziqing’s cheek.
Hesitating for a moment, she couldn’t control herself and reached out a finger to poke it.
It felt soft, warm, and a gentle touch created a small dimple.
She found it slightly addictive and poked it again.
Perhaps it was the coolness of Qin Yue’s hand, but Meng Ziqing groaned halfway between sleep and wakefulness, slowly opened her eyes, and met Qin Yue’s gaze.
“What are you doing?”
Meng Ziqing’s voice was hoarse with sleep inertia, and her tone was sharp, but a closer look would reveal that her eyes were full of confusion. She was clearly in a semi-waking, sleepwalking state.
She hadn’t even clearly seen who the person in front of her was or recognized them. She was simply asking if this person had a reason to disturb her sleep.
Unfortunately, in the dim light, even though the two were staring at each other under the moonlight by the window, Qin Yue didn’t notice the confusion in her eyes.
“Nothing…” Qin Yue pursed her lips, her tone as flat as usual, without a hint of guilt in her eyes.
Meng Ziqing blinked, tilted her head to look at her, and was slow to react, “Oh, if it’s nothing, then go.”
She spoke without any affection, as naturally as a child casually discarding something they didn’t like.
She really was a naughty child. One moment crying and saying, ‘Sister, I fell in love with you at first sight, I like you so much,’ and the next moment changing her expression and saying, ‘Go away.’
“Go?” Qin Yue rolled the word between her lips and tongue, asking Meng Ziqing in return, “Go where?”
Qin Yue tilted her head slightly. The silver moonlight gently spilled over half of her cool face and eyes. Her blue pupils darkened, becoming deep and dangerous.
“Where should I go?” she asked again, lowering her voice.
“Anywhere is fine, that’s your business, you go.” Meng Ziqing was direct.
“This is also my room.”
Qin Yue bent one knee, kneeling by the bed, and leaned in closer to Meng Ziqing.
“I have half the right to use this room. You have no right to kick me out.”
She reached out her hand, her fingertips tracing an imaginary line over Meng Ziqing’s heart, then slowly moving up, past her collarbone, neck, chin, and lips, finally stopping at the center of her eyebrows.
“Do you understand, little one?”
Meng Ziqing just felt this person was strange. A large shadow enveloped her, and the person’s actions made her whole body itch and tingle.
She couldn’t help but want to dodge.
Meng Ziqing’s half-awake brain wasn’t rational. She directly grabbed Qin Yue’s mischievous hand, pulled the person forward, and threatened, “What right or no right? If I tell you to leave, you…”
Meng Ziqing finally got a clear look at Qin Yue’s face. She narrowed her eyes, examining Qin Yue closely for a moment.
“Hmm?”
Meng Ziqing bit her finger and murmured, “She looks alright, meets my aesthetic.”
During this ultra-close-up stare, Qin Yue finally realized that Meng Ziqing seemed to be… sleepwalking? She hadn’t woken up at all.
“Meets your aesthetic, and then what?”
Qin Yue’s eyes subtly darkened, encouraging her to continue.
“Hah—” Meng Ziqing yawned. She gently held Qin Yue with one hand and the duvet with the other, preparing to lie down.
“Then don’t go. Let’s sleep together.”
Qin Yue remained still, even pulling slightly in the opposite direction. “No, you just told me to go away.”
“Tsk, you’re so annoying,” Meng Ziqing complained testily. She pulled Qin Yue onto the bed with force, pushed her directly onto the mattress, covered her with the duvet, and then happily lay down and hugged Qin Yue. Qin Yue’s cool body temperature made her sigh contentedly.
“You…”
Qin Yue’s eyes slightly widened at Meng Ziqing’s smooth series of actions. Her cool pupils were filled with astonishment at Meng Ziqing’s decisiveness.
“I’ve changed my mind now. Don’t go, sleep with me.”
Meng Ziqing rubbed her fluffy head against Qin Yue’s neck, a slight, playful endearment.
A tingling sensation spread from her waist. Qin Yue’s face flushed slightly as she tried to push Meng Ziqing away, “Wake up. I’m going to sleep in my own bed.”
Meng Ziqing acted spoiled, “Don’t, sleep with me, pretty sister.”
“I want to sleep with you.”
