- Chapter 22 - The Green Tea Transmigrator's Twenty-Second Day
“Meng Ziqing, be a good girl and stop making trouble.”
Qin Yue called out in a low voice, her tone gentle and somewhat coaxing.
“Lie down and sleep, okay?”
“Ngh…” Meng Ziqing whined, lifting her head and pulling free from Qin Yue’s hand that was trying to hold her head down. Her delicate face was crumpled like a soft bun, clearly resistant.
“No…”
“Meng Ziqing, it’s time for you to sleep.”
Qin Yue’s forehead was beaded with fine sweat as she tried to make Meng Ziqing settle down and sleep obediently.
Sleepwalking is a sleep disorder, and it’s very difficult to wake someone up from it. Furthermore, waking Meng Ziqing up would likely cause her mental confusion and turn her into a dummy.
If it were severe, she might even become a violent dummy, indiscriminately attacking Qin Yue, who was closest to her.
The consequences would be dire.
Pretty JieJie
Meng Ziqing blinked her tear-filled eyes at her, her voice slightly trembling, her nasal tone heavy, sounding wronged and choked up.
“Why didn’t you come to sleep with me? I waited for you for so long.” Meng Ziqing asked, tightening the arms wrapped around Qin Yue’s waist. Her dark, long, curly hair brushed against Qin Yue’s arm with the movement; it felt a little chilly, raising goosebumps and sending a shiver down her spine.
“Meng… Ziqing, you…”
Qin Yue felt a little weak in the knees, her hands resting awkwardly on Meng Ziqing’s shoulders. The warm, soft feel of the jade-like skin was very comfortable, possessing a magic that made her not want to push her away.
Qin Yue couldn’t help it. Her slender, pale fingers twitched, and the movement that should have been a push turned into an affectionate caress.
“But you just wouldn’t come.” The little one cried out of grievance, tears silently dropping onto Qin Yue’s shoulder. “Bad person, you don’t keep your promise.”
“You just wouldn’t come, you never came to find me.”
She was like a small, insecure animal, crying very softly, yet it was all the more heart-wrenching.
“Be good. I will come to sleep with you every night from now on. Now, be a good girl and lie down with me, okay?” Qin Yue reluctantly agreed, attempting once more to guide Meng Ziqing to lie down and sleep.
“Liar…” Meng Ziqing choked out. “You don’t keep your word, and you’re still lying to me now.”
“I don’t want to believe you.”
Qin Yue was helpless, feeling a bit mentally exhausted. “I’m not lying…”
“Even now, you’re still lying to me. You keep telling me to stop making trouble, but I clearly wasn’t making trouble, hic.”
She let out a hiccup between sobs, her eyes blinking in confusion.
The sleepwalking dummy’s brain had forgotten what to say next.
Unable to recall her next line, Meng Ziqing raised her head blankly. Clear tears still clung to her eyelashes, hanging precariously. She just looked at Qin Yue, meeting her gaze, and softly called out, “Jie Jie…”
Under the soft moonlight, the young girl was in a thin nightgown in her arms. The dress wasn’t particularly short, but as she moved, it had ridden up above her thighs, exposing pale skin. Her dark, long, curly hair was draped over her shoulders, making her look younger than her actual age.
The girl was already fair-skinned, and because she had cried, a light pink flush showed on her delicate face, her eye corners were crimson. She was staring at Qin Yue blankly, her clear, black eyes like glass, fully reflecting Qin Yue’s image.
She was so obedient, what did she resemble?
—She resembled the doll Qin Yue loved so much as a child that she often held it in her arms.
And now, the doll had come to life in her embrace.
Qin Yue’s breath caught, her heart rate accelerated, and a surge of fresh blood rushed to her brain.
Her expression became obscure, her eyes, lightly lowered by her lashes, were deep like a midnight sea, hinting at danger.
In the dim, quiet room, a barely audible sigh escaped. Qin Yue slowly raised her hands. One hand rested in front of Meng Ziqing’s eyes, while the other desperately pressed against her own forehead.
She tilted her head back, looking at the spots of light refracted by the moonlight on the ceiling, and slowly closed her eyes.
A cold yet low and husky female voice echoed in the room, forcefully suppressing the turbulent, burning desire in her heart. “Little one, don’t look at me with those eyes.”
Meng Ziqing blinked innocently. What was the pretty JieJie saying? She didn’t understand.
Qin Yue sat up, gently wrapped her arm around Meng Ziqing’s waist, and coaxed her in a low voice, “Be a good little one. I’ll come to sleep with you every day from now on. We’ll sleep together. I won’t lie to you this time.”
“Shall we sleep together? Pretty JieJie is tired.”
Qin Yue rested her chin on Meng Ziqing’s shoulder, her voice carrying a feigned tiredness, though the look in her eyes was anything but sleepy. “Little one, will you lie down and sleep with pretty JieJie? Pretty JieJie wants to sleep with the little one.”
“JieJie…” Meng Ziqing’s emotions were a bit more stable than before.
Qin Yue inwardly sighed in relief, but the next second, Meng Ziqing rubbed her neck, her warm breath scattering over Qin Yue’s skin.
Meng Ziqing then bit Qin Yue’s neck with very light force, like a playful cat, but it made Qin Yue’s mind explode. Meng Ziqing whispered, “You’re still lying to me.”
She looked up, and the sleepwalking dummy’s mind held only one obsession: “When you lie to me, why don’t you ever call me ‘Baby’?”
Tears welled up in her eyes again as she asked Qin Yue with a wronged expression, “JieJie, am I not your baby?”
