- Chapter 2 - The Green Tea Transmigrates on Day Two
Meng Ziqing felt her cheek flush again. The cool fragrance on the woman lingered in her nose, and her heart rate involuntarily sped up.
Qin Yue stepped back slightly, watching Meng Ziqing without speaking, waiting for her response.
The people around them widened their eyes in shock, even starting to wonder if the show had given the guests a script.
“Sister, tell me next time you kiss me,” Meng Ziqing said helplessly. “At least let me be prepared.”
Meng Ziqing smiled at her, surprise flashing across her eyes.
This White Moonlight sister… she actually played along.
Meng Ziqing didn’t dislike Qin Yue kissing her; it was just a kiss on the cheek between girls.
Qin Yue had lived abroad since she was very young, and a kiss on the cheek was common for her—she probably mistook the ‘peck’ for a cheek kiss greeting.
“I can…” Qin Yue agreed, her gaze sweeping past Meng Ziqing’s lips before lifting her eyes to meet hers.
She should kiss me back now.
She was waiting for her return kiss.
“Ahem…” Meng Ziqing couldn’t help but reveal a smile in her bright, starry eyes.
Qin Yue was slightly taller than her, so Meng Ziqing had to stand on tiptoe, turning her head to lightly kiss Qin Yue’s cheek.
“A return kiss for the cheek greeting, Sister,” Meng Ziqing said, turning her head to meet Qin Yue’s eyes.
Under the warm lighting, they smiled at each other, a special aura surrounding them, isolating everyone else.
The cameraman, having seen many grand scenes, held the camera steady, his eyes fixed on the moment, afraid of capturing the beautiful scene out of focus.
Although this was a dating show, in essence, it catered to what the audience wanted to see.
The early-age female competition dramas were no longer popular; what sold now was affectionate sisterhood.
The immediate bond between Meng Ziqing and Qin Yue was clearly a highlight, and the cameraman understood this well.
Meng Ziqing and Qin Yue distanced themselves slightly.
The CP system took the opportunity to fly onto her shoulder, the little light ball sparkling.
It was very excited. “Host, I found the setting to turn off the mind-reading cheat. For daily life, if you find it bothersome, the mind-reading function will be closed from 9 PM to 6 AM.”
The CP system continued, “If you find it noisy, just let me know, and I can manually turn it off for you. Tell me when you want to turn it back on.”
Meng Ziqing breathed a sigh of relief. “Turn off mind-reading starting five minutes from now.”
Being forced to read minds could cause people to age prematurely.
“Qin Yue, you guys…”
Gu Yang, who had witnessed the entire cheek kiss, was heartbroken, his eyes filled with sorrow.
He wished he were the one half-embraced by Qin Yue, the one kissing Qin Yue.
The White Moonlight and the fiancée were having a moment; what was he doing standing here? He felt like a complete fool.
“Gu Yang…” Meng Ziqing looked over, her face showing confusion. “Did you know this Sister Qin before?”
Gu Yang stayed silent.
Seeing her look at him as if he were a complete stranger, a series of complex emotions—distress, struggle, and nostalgia—flashed across his face.
After a long pause, he managed to say, “No, we didn’t know each other before.”
“But we know each other now, and we’ll get more familiar as we interact later.”
After saying this, he smiled at Qin Yue, his eyes full of reminiscence.
Does she not remember me? It doesn’t matter, the dating show lasts for three months. I will make her remember me during these three months.
He’s really like silly dog. Meng Ziqing judged expressionlessly in her heart.
Facing his White Moonlight, Gu Yang, the male lead, completely lacked the swagger and dominance he showed in front of the female protagonist. Instead, he resembled the emotionally devoted male supporting character in a dating show.
The Howling Celestial Dog of the Simp-dome, who licks until the very end and still ends up with nothing.
Unfortunately, the one who was going to form a CP with Qin Yue was her, and there was no one in the world she couldn’t conquer.
No matter how much he simped, he wouldn’t be able to win against her.
Meng Ziqing and the main group toured the supermarket for a while longer, purchasing enough items to fill ten large bags.
The group made a grand return to the house.
Meng Ziqing carried a large bag in her left hand, while her right hand deliberately helped Qin Yue carry another large bag.
As they reached the door, she noticed the light peeking through the crack and said excitedly to the others, “There’s someone inside.”
The married film emperor, Wen Siliang, said without hesitation, “It must be the new guest.”
He freed a hand to open the door. “Let’s go in and meet the new guest.”
As the door was pushed open, soft light spilled out, and the scene inside the house came into everyone’s view.
One of the girls gasped with a “ya,” and even the well-experienced Wen Siliang, who was used to the entertainment industry, raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Meng Ziqing curiously peered in.
In the living room, the female protagonist, Su An’an, was sitting on the sofa, while the male supporting character, Jian Weilin, was kneeling on one knee, bandaging the wound on her leg.
They were very close; both their faces were a little red, and pink bubbles seemed to float in the air between them.
“Ahem ahem…”
The arrival of the guests broke the atmosphere.
Su An’an blushed for a moment and quickly tried to stand up, but Jian Weilin gently pressed her back down.
Jian Weilin was quick to observe and came over to help them carry the bags. As he carried them, he introduced himself, “Hello everyone, I’m Jian Weilin, and I’m a lawyer.”
“The one on the sofa is Su An’an. We had a small accident on the way here, so she can’t walk well right now. I won’t let her help carry things.”
He spoke very naturally, indicating they had known each other for a long time.
The guests exchanged glances, smiling, thinking it was quite interesting.
In this day and age, people were coming onto dating shows with friends, even friends of the opposite sex.
Meng Ziqing glanced at the wound on Su An’an’s leg in the crowd, a sense of “as expected” passing through her mind.
No wonder she hadn’t met up with Qin Yue and the main group at the supermarket.
So she was limping.
Su An’an’s gaze met Meng Ziqing’s teasing eyes, and she opened her mouth in surprise.
It was actually Meng Ziqing, that little green tea.
After a flurry of activity to put away the purchases, the finally assembled guests sat on the sofa to introduce themselves one by one.
Meng Ziqing sat on the sofa, looking at the face that was three or four parts similar to Qin Yue’s. “I really didn’t expect to run into you here.”
“I didn’t expect it either. I thought we wouldn’t see each other after college graduation. I didn’t expect to run into you again.”
Su An’an’s words carried an inexplicable difficulty to express.
“The world is truly small,” Meng Ziqing sighed.
Perhaps the world was completing its own cycle of cause and effect.
In the original host’s memory, she and the female protagonist, Su An’an, were university classmates and roommates for four years, but their relationship was lukewarm.
They were both excellent, competing for class monitor, competing for national scholarships, and were rivals for four years.
After graduation, Su An’an entered the workforce because her family lacked money.
Meng Ziqing chose to pursue further studies because her family was wealthy.
As the two spoke, the female lead sitting at the edge of the sofa stood up to introduce herself.
Everyone who could be on the show was good-looking. She was the type with a very cute, lively, and lowly-like appearance.
“Hello everyone, my name is Zhang Ke, you can call me Ke Ke. I’m currently a postgraduate student at Kyoto University and I really love cute small animals.”
The female lead held up a finger and proudly said, “I have seventeen cats at home; I picked them all up from the street.”
The guests applauded in admiration, and Film Emperor Wen Siliang showed respect. “That’s amazing. It must be very hard to juggle cat care and your studies.”
Zhang Ke was shy. “It’s not too bad. My mom also likes animals, and she helps me take care of them when I’m busy.”
She quickly glanced at Wen Siliang shyly, then lowered her head like a cat.
“That’s still very impressive,” Wen Siliang said.
The cameraman recorded this scene, not letting a single moment of potential chemistry slip by.
After Zhang Ke sat down, Wen Siliang stood up, speaking very humbly. “Hello everyone, I’m Wen Siliang. I’m an actor, and I’ve been in a few things.”
Everyone complimented him, calling him modest.
“Brother Siliang, you’re too humble. You just won the Film Emperor award a while ago.”
The sunny, robust Male Supporting Character next to him said, “I really like you. I watch every one of your movies.”
Meng Ziqing folded her arms, snorting inwardly.
So stingy that he calculates every cent of grocery money, yet he can afford movie tickets? I bet he watches them on some shady website.
The sunny Male Supporting Character scanned the room. “My name is Zhou Feng, 27 years old, and I currently run a gym. Everyone is welcome to visit.”
“I’ll give you a twenty percent discount!”
The guests were very generous with their exclamations and cheers.
Zhou Feng sighed, “I’ve been busy with my career all these years, and now I finally have time to consider the future, so I came on the show to make some friends.”
“Young men should focus on their careers when they’re young. Once you have a career, you can think about the future,” Gu Yang said to Zhou Feng.
“Gu Yang, I run an entertainment company,” Gu Yang introduced himself to them.
He patted Wen Siliang’s shoulder. “Siliang and I are old friends. It’s thanks to Siliang that I was able to come on this show.”
Wen Siliang waved his hand. “Nonsense. It’s mainly because Xingguang really needs a hostess, President Gu.”
Their mutual flattery sounded extremely fake.
Meng Ziqing wanted to laugh, but she held it back, though her expression management failed, drawing the attention of the crowd.
“Meng Ziqing, a wedding dress designer.”
Meng Ziqing flashed a standard green tea smile, impeccably graceful and genuinely sweet. “Feel free to look for me if you have any needs in the future.”
Everyone complimented her, saying she was romantic.
“Miss Meng, have you considered designing your own wedding dress?”
Qin Yue said very seriously, “If you ever need anything work-related, you can come to me.”
She then introduced herself again. “Qin Yue, current CEO of RY.”
“I definitely won’t be shy about asking for help, Sister,” Meng Ziqing said, her eyes curving in a smile.
As the two spoke, the eyes of the other guests present grew warm.
RY was a world-renowned luxury brand. Its annual Paris Fashion Week was every model’s dream, and the designers who managed to enter this company were all industry elites.
They couldn’t believe the caliber of guests on this dating show was so high!
“I didn’t expect Sister Qin to be so accomplished at such a young age,” Su An’an complimented. “Like Miss Meng, I’m also a designer, a ready-to-wear designer.”
She smiled very kindly at Qin Yue as she spoke.
The intention to show goodwill was obvious.
Tsk, Meng Ziqing wiggled her fingers. She didn’t say anything; she just moved closer to Qin Yue.
They were so close that the warmth of their skin could be felt through the fabric.
This made the two look extremely intimate.
At the same time, Meng Ziqing smiled and met Su An’an’s eyes.
It was a blatant act of provocation.
