A Scummy Alpha and An Award-Winning Omega Actress Fell in Love After an Arranged Marriage - Chapter 11.2
Lu Xueyin really wanted to say she could pair up with Ji Xinlan.
But then, that would be like using someone Sheng Lan utterly despised to provoke her.
After all, Sheng Lan had just given her an emergency mark yesterday and was clearly in a bad mood afterward. There was no need to stir up trouble.
This silence felt like tacit agreement.
Knowing there was no other choice, Sheng Lan chuckled lightly.
“Then Teacher Lu can start thinking about how to teach me horseback riding.”
Staying in an open area, they weren’t worried about eavesdropping, but they couldn’t stop people from watching.
Once Sheng Lan confirmed their partnership, she didn’t linger outside with Lu Xueyin.
As she left, she hinted, “I’ve already paid the tuition.”
Lu Xueyin’s face flushed slightly again.
After Sheng Lan left, she wandered alone outside for a while.
Due to the nature of the show, the producers gave the participants buffer time to avoid awkward encounters, and this part wouldn’t be aired.
Sheng Lan and Lu Xueyin had restrained themselves, so their conversation was the shortest.
When she returned, Sheng Lan was roped into cooking.
She had a strong vengeful streak.
She didn’t mind being called petty, narrow-minded, or holding grudges.
Out of six guests, she prepared meals for five.
By the time Lu Xueyin returned, Sheng Lan had already prepped all the side dishes.
Lu Xueyin looked around and came over to help.
Sheng Lan shooed her away, “It’s almost 2 PM. The next segment will be a mukbang. If you don’t leave now, they’ll film you cooking with me in the kitchen.”
Lu Xueyin said, “Since we’re going to be partners, cooking together isn’t a big deal.”
She also knew that variety shows, like movies and TV dramas, had disparities in screen time.
Used to being the female lead and making her variety show debut, she couldn’t accept being a side character.
After relaxing, it was time to get into character.
Sheng Lan smiled suggestively, “Oh, so Teacher Lu wants to share hardships with me.”
Lu Xueyin had fair, delicate skin and couldn’t handle teasing. As warmth threatened to rise to her cheeks again, she couldn’t help but pat her face lightly.
It was strange, she’d never reacted like this during past acting scenes with co-stars.
“What hardships?”
Sheng Lan pointed at the dishes on the table.
At first, Lu Xueyin didn’t notice anything wrong.
But seeing the mischief in Sheng Lan’s eyes, she took another look.
There were only five plates and bowls.
Lu Xueyin hesitated before saying tactfully, “Sheng Lan, don’t you think this behavior is a bit childish?”
Sheng Lan: “Teacher Lu, let me correct you, I just refuse to cook for people I dislike. If the show arranged it this way, it’s already generous of me not to cook only for myself.”
Lu Xueyin wasn’t trying to nitpick. She just found Sheng Lan too prickly and unpolished, and wanted to smooth out a few of her edges.
“You can just make one portion.”
Sheng Lan refused.
She even quipped, “How could that be? At least two portions.”
Lu Xueyin nodded faintly, showing no particular reaction.
Sheng Lan raised an eyebrow, “The other one’s for you to eat.”
And just like that, Lu Xueyin was about to blush again.
Sheng Lan realized exactly what she could do during this month-long shoot.
Teasing the beautiful woman was quite amusing.
Especially since Lu Xueyin wanted to maintain her aloof and proud image, making the teasing all the more entertaining.
She pointed at the door, “Last reminder, you can still leave now if you want.”
Lu Xueyin rolled up her sleeves, “What do you need help with?”
Tsk.
Quite the loyal friend.
A dating show, after all, was all about creating ambiguity.
Even before filming began, Sheng Lan was already acting.
“Tie the apron for me.”
There were many ways to tie an apron.
Given Lu Xueyin’s personality clumsy yet eager to flirt today promised some fun.
Sheng Lan was looking forward to it.
Like Lu Xueyin, even in casual wear, she retained some personal flair.
She wore a short puff-sleeved top with an A-line denim skirt. The cropped top revealed a glimpse of her slender waist with every movement, its jet-black fabric dotted with tiny roses.
She didn’t wear the top properly, pulling it down to expose one shoulder, a mix of retro, sweet, and spicy.
Earlier, while prepping ingredients, she hadn’t worn an apron.
Now, about to stir-fry, though her hands were free, she deliberately ran them under the faucet to emphasize that she really couldn’t put on the apron herself.
“Teacher Lu?”
Lu Xueyin turned to grab the apron.
For the sake of romance, the design was tacky.
Peach-pink with hearts of all sizes, the front pocket shaped like an oversized heart, its edges even trimmed with white lace.
Lu Xueyin instinctively touched her collar.
Sheng Lan chuckled softly, “Clothes depend on the wearer. You’d look good even in a burlap sack.”
Lu Xueyin: “Is this how you talk to Omegas outside?”
Sheng Lan: “Jealous?”
Lu Xueyin’s response was to glance outside, forcibly ending the conversation.
Sheng Lan understood, she was afraid of being seen.
A shy little rose.
The other two pairs were more privacy-conscious, choosing to talk in their rooms.
Locked inside, who knew if they were kissing, hugging, or rationally discussing things.
Not as innocent as her and Lu Xueyin.
So, she took the chance to criticize Meng Qing, “Acting like you’ve never seen an Omega before.”
Lu Xueyin tentatively reached out, as if to close the door.
Sheng Lan was about to defend her innocence.
Lu Xueyin told her to lower her head.
Sheng Lan obediently complied.
Lu Xueyin noticed some black roots showing and pointed it out.
Sheng Lan replied casually, “Oh, then Teacher Lu can pick a hair color for me.”
Lu Xueyin teased, “How about green?”
