A Happy Ending with my Fiancée's Arch-enemy - Chapter 8
After cleaning the school plaza, Yu Ning and Sun Yiyi returned to the classroom to prepare for class.
During the walk upstairs, Sun Yiyi suddenly remarked, “Why don’t you just treat Jiang Shuangshuang the same way you treated those others before? Make her stay away from Lin Yanqing. Look at all the trouble we’ve gotten into it’s all because of her, isn’t it?”
In Sun Yiyi’s view, if Lin Yanqing hadn’t inexplicably helped Jiang Shuangshuang and sparked those absurd rumors, they wouldn’t have argued with the two Alphas outside the restroom, nor would they have been punished.
“It’s different,” Yu Ning replied. “Do you know why I used to argue with those Omegas? It’s because they were annoying and always competing with me for Lin Yanqing’s attention. But Jiang Shuangshuang seems delicate and gentle, and she hasn’t said anything harsh to me. How can I treat her the same way I treated those Omegas?”
Sun Yiyi knew Yu Ning well she was soft-hearted and easily swayed by kindness, not confrontation. Looking back, none of the arguments or fights with those Omegas had been started by Yu Ning herself. Unfortunately, others always saw it as Yu Ning picking fights.
Others might not understand Yu Ning, but Sun Yiyi did. She was like a paper tiger ferce on the outside but fragile inside. Lin Yanqing was her sore spot; everything revolved around Lin Yanqing and nothing else.
Sun Yiyi sighed. “To be honest, the biggest problem lies with Lin Yanqing. She never explains anything and just lets people spread rumors. And you were only trying to help her, yet she treated you like that. It makes me so angry!”
As they approached the classroom door, Yu Ning noticed Sun Yiyi was still fuming and tried to console her. “That’s just how Yanqing is. Maybe I went too far. Thinking back, arguing with them really wasn’t wise. It’s understandable that she got angry.”
“I’m so mad, so mad, so mad! And you’re still defending her? I don’t want to talk to you anymore!”
Sun Yiyi was genuinely upset this time and refused to speak further, heading straight to her seat in the classroom.
Just as Yu Ning was about to follow, she heard someone calling her name from nearby.
It was break time, and the hallway was bustling with noise. Yu Ning turned toward the voice and saw Jiang Shuangshuang approaching from a short distance away.
Her white skirt fluttered gently, and her dark hair swayed in the breeze. Her fair face was slightly flushed from the wind.
“She’s so pretty,” someone murmured.
The hallway was crowded, and everyone was quietly watching Jiang Shuangshuang, subtly comparing the two girls.
“Yu Ning.”
Before Yu Ning realized it, Jiang Shuangshuang had already reached her and called her name.
Yu Ning looked at her and responded with a soft “Hmm?”
Yu Ning herself was quite striking, but others often overlooked her qualities because of her perceived arrogance and willfulness.
Standing side by side, the two were equally captivating, though Yu Ning’s undifferentiated status gave her a touch of youthful innocence.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know things would turn out like this,” Jiang Shuangshuang said, biting her lip. “I just transferred here and don’t know many people, so when I saw those others, I went to Lin Yanqing. But I never expected those strange rumors to start. It’s all my fault. I should have spoken up sooner.”
Jiang Shuangshuang hung her head, looking deeply remorseful.
“You went to her? Do you have her contact?” That was the first thing Yu Ning caught. As far as she knew, very few people in their class had Lin Yanqing’s contact information even the class group chat had been created by Yu Ning, who had added Lin Yanqing to it.
“Well, that morning, I added her as a friend to transfer the money for the bread.”
After saying this, Jiang Shuangshuang realized that Yu Ning might be angry and cautiously looked at her.
Yu Ning stared at Jiang Shuangshuang, but aside from regret and fear, no other emotions were visible on her face.
After a long pause, Yu Ning suddenly smiled. “Yanqing has always been eager to help others, so it’s no big deal. Now that those baseless rumors have been debunked, everything’s fine.”
Jiang Shuangshuang let out a long sigh of relief and nodded. “Thank you. I thought…”
Someone had previously warned Jiang Shuangshuang that Yu Ning had a difficult and unpredictable temper and advised her to stay away. She had expected Yu Ning to get angry when she mentioned this.
“All of you heard that, right? Stop spreading those rumors from now on! If I hear them again, don’t blame me for bullying classmates.”
Hearing this, the students in the hallway quickly averted their eyes. Although Yu Ning hadn’t yet differentiated and appeared petite, she had been practicing dance and martial arts since childhood. If anyone truly provoked her, it wouldn’t end with simple scuffles like before.
“Class is about to start. Let’s head into the classroom.”
During class, the math teacher was enthusiastically lecturing at the podium, but Yu Ning was secretly scrolling through her phone underneath the desk.
She had sent dozens of messages to Sun Yiyi. Two classes had passed, and every message had been marked as read, but none had been replied to.
[Yiyi~ Dear Yiyi~]
Read instantly, but still no reply.
Yu Ning sighed. She had already said everything she could think of to apologize, but Sun Yiyi showed no signs of calming down.
Yu Ning exited the chat and opened the class group chat, where she found Jiang Shuangshuang’s name and sent a friend request.
To her surprise, Jiang Shuangshuang was also on her phone and accepted the request quickly. After thinking for a moment, Yu Ning composed a message and sent it.
[If you need anything in the future, just ask me. I’m more helpful than Lin Yanqing~]
Yu Ning meant every word. She genuinely believed she was more approachable and willing to help than Lin Yanqing.
She also understood that Jiang Shuangshuang was new here, unfamiliar with the place and the people. Her offer was meant to lend a hand.
[Okay. Thank you.]
After replying to Yu Ning, Jiang Shuangshuang put her phone back into her desk. Her deskmate, Lin Yanqing, was attentively listening to the lecture, her notes neat and tidy.
“Can I borrow your notes?”
Jiang Shuangshuang asked cautiously.
Lin Yanqing frowned, not because Jiang Shuangshuang had asked to borrow something, but because she felt Jiang Shuangshuang’s demeanor was overly timid. It had been several days since she transferred, and Lin Yanqing hadn’t been particularly harsh with her. So why did she always seem so hesitant and fearful? What was she afraid of?
Though these thoughts crossed her mind, Lin Yanqing kept her doubts to herself and simply slid her notebook over.
“Thank you.”
After this brief exchange, Lin Yanqing refocused on the lecture.
“Um, this part here…”
A few seconds later, Jiang Shuangshuang turned around, biting her lip as if hesitating to speak.
Lin Yanqing frowned and looked at her. But seeing her fearful yet determined expression, she swallowed her initial response and instead glanced at the spot Jiang Shuangshuang was pointing to. The handwriting was a bit messy, so it was understandable that she couldn’t make it out. Patiently, Lin Yanqing explained, “It’s a formula. You’ll understand it better if you review it a few more times.”
After Lin Yanqing’s explanation, Jiang Shuangshuang connected it with the context in the notes and finally grasped the meaning.
But Lin Yanqing hadn’t expected that just a few seconds later, she would hear Jiang Shuangshuang’s voice again.
It was still that hesitant expression, still that messy, barely legible handwriting.
Lin Yanqing suddenly realized what she was in for after lending out that notebook.
After answering her question, Lin Yanqing had barely focused for two minutes when she heard Jiang Shuangshuang’s voice again.
Even though her questions were spoken softly, Lin Yanqing could still hear them clearly. Only now did she consider that perhaps having exceptionally good hearing was also a mistake.
By the time class was nearly over, after hearing her name called for the tenth time that period, Lin Yanqing’s expression could only be described as icy.
“I… am I bothering you too much? I’m sorry.” Jiang Shuangshuang hung her head low, looking utterly ashamed.
Seeing her like this, Lin Yanqing couldn’t bring herself to say anything more.
“Thank you… I’ve finished copying. Could I borrow the one you’re holding?” Jiang Shuangshuang bit her lip as she looked at her.
Jiang Shuangshuang’s eyes appeared large and dark. Perhaps frightened by Lin Yanqing’s earlier expression, they now glistened with unshed tears.
Lin Yanqing suddenly remembered that Yu Ning’s eyes were like this too like black grapes. But unlike Jiang Shuangshuang’s gentle timidity, Yu Ning’s eyes always sparkled with clever, courageous light.
Lin Yanqing glanced toward Yu Ning’s seat and saw her resting her chin in her hand, head tilted, staring unblinkingly at the blackboard as if something had caught her attention.
“Lin Yanqing.”
Turning her head, she met Jiang Shuangshuang’s confused gaze. In that moment, Lin Yanqing’s demeanor softened.
“Wait a moment, let me finish writing this down.”
Jiang Shuangshuang clearly sensed that Lin Yanqing’s mood had suddenly softened just then.
While Lin Yanqing was looking down, Jiang Shuangshuang glanced in the direction Lin Yanqing had been looking earlier and realized she had been watching Yu Ning.
As Lin Yanqing wrote in her notebook, she paused her pen midway. Thinking of the earlier scene, her writing slowed. After finishing, she even flipped back to the first page to review her notes, and where the handwriting was messy, she crossed it out and rewrote it.
In her view, this was a necessary measure to ensure she could listen to the class undisturbed.
Another class period passed, and Sun Yiyi still hadn’t acknowledged Yu Ning.
Yu Ning felt she had already engaged in deep self-reflection and had even listed her offenses item by item in a message to Sun Yiyi.
Thirty-nine items in total ranging from not eating the piece of meat Sun Yiyi had given her at lunch to making Sun Yiyi sweep a few extra leaves when cleaning the square.
Sun Yiyi remained unappeased.
Yu Ning thought about it. Could it be because of Jiang Shuangshuang?
Yu Ning tentatively sent a message:
[Maybe I should treat Jiang Shuangshuang the same way I deal with those Omegas?]
[Just keep playing dumb.]
Sun Yiyi finally replied, though this response was almost the same as no reply. The biggest difference might be that, judging by the tone, Sun Yiyi was even angrier.
Only then did Yu Ning understand that unless she addressed the issue directly, Sun Yiyi’s anger wouldn’t subside.
In the past, playing dumb had worked—Sun Yiyi would eventually cool down and play along. But this time, she was genuinely upset.
Alright, I know I was wrong. I’ll be more careful next time and won’t get into conflicts with others because of Yanqing.
[Three days.]
Sun Yiyi’s sudden message made Yu Ning freeze. What did “three days” mean? Was she cutting ties with her for three days?
[“Nooo!! I can’t go three days without you!! My dear Yiyi!!”]
Sun Yiyi stared at her screen, where her message was spinning with a red exclamation mark. She tapped to resend it just as Yu Ning’s message came through. The corner of her mouth twitched.
[?]
Along with the question mark, Yu Ning received Sun Yiyi’s instruction to ignore Lin Yanqing for three days.
Yu Ning:
[“Yiyi, you’re so cruel, wu wu wu wu.”]
Telling Yu Ning to ignore Lin Yanqing for three days wasn’t really about Yu Ning ignoring Lin Yanqing it was more about stopping Yu Ning from bothering Lin Yanqing.
The connection between her and Lin Yanqing existed only because Yu Ning kept creating opportunities to interact.
[“Not okay? Then let’s cut ties for three days.”]
Today was Wednesday. Three days would mean until Saturday afternoon.
No, no she couldn’t lose contact with Yiyi.
[“Okay, okay, I promise.”]
It was just three days without contact.
Although, come to think of it, she had never gone more than three days without reaching out to Lin Yanqing.
[“What I mean is, you shouldn’t initiate contact with Lin Yanqing. If she contacts you, you can still reply.”]
[“Wu wu wu, but that’s no different! You know how aloof Lin Yanqing is there’s no way she’d reach out to me first.”]
Apart from crying, Yu Ning had no other emotions inside.
Alright, let’s go get ice cream this afternoon! Weren’t you saying you’ve been craving it for days?
[“Okay!”]
Mentioning ice cream made Yu Ning temporarily forget the pain of not being able to contact Lin Yanqing.
But what Yu Ning didn’t expect was that their afternoon outing wouldn’t just be the two of them.
Today, Yu Ning was packing her bag very slowly. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Sun Yiyi was watching her, making sure she didn’t try to find Lin Yanqing.
“I’m going to the office,” Sun Yiyi suddenly said, walking over to her.
Normally, Yu Ning would have quickly packed her bag and rushed off to find Lin Yanqing.
Every day after class, she’d speed over to Lin Yanqing and wait patiently as Lin Yanqing slowly packed up.
Because Yu Ning knew if she didn’t get there first, Lin Yanqing definitely wouldn’t wait for her.
Thinking of this, Yu Ning’s hands moved even slower. For a moment, she wondered if Sun Yiyi was actually Lin Yanqing’s spy, sent to keep Yu Ning from bothering her.
This is so hard, so hard! She really wanted to walk home with Lin Yanqing!
No today, she wanted ice cream more.
Two conflicting voices wrestled inside her. In the end, by the time most of the class had left, Yu Ning had packed and unpacked her desk contents into her bag multiple times.
While shuffling her books, Yu Ning faintly heard a voice nearby: “Class monitor, aren’t you leaving yet?”
Hearing “class monitor,” Yu Ning’s heart skipped a beat. Was Lin Yanqing waiting for her? Could it be? Or not?
Just as Yu Ning was gritting her teeth, debating whether to rush over and “beg” Sun Yiyi to take back the order, a clear tapping sound came from the window.
“Tch ”
Startled out of her thoughts, Yu Ning glared irritably at the window to her right.
There was Su Yien, grinning mischievously, her face pressed against the glass as she waved. Faintly, Yu Ning could hear her saying, “Yu Ning, let’s go play ”
Seeing Su Yien’s carefree, teasing expression, Yu Ning gritted her teeth in frustration, itching to rush out and give her a piece of her mind.
Were they that close? And who told Su Yien her name? Who gave her permission to use it?
Yu Ning’s indifference only spurred Su Yien to greater lengths, tapping on the window while calling her name.
Without bothering to pack her things, Yu Ning rushed out of the classroom.
“Who said you could call me by my name?! Are we that close?”
Su Yien smiled. “No, but you came out, didn’t you?”
“…”
Yu Ning shot her a glance and decided to ignore her.
“Hey, hey…” Su Yien took two steps toward her, trying to block her way. Hearing the sound, Yu Ning reacted swiftly, grabbing her arm and attempting to spin her around, pinning her against the wall.
But Su Yien moved even faster, reversing the hold and pulling Yu Ning into her embrace.
In an instant, Yu Ning kicked her, and Su Yien let go.
“Although I don’t want to say those four words, you should know which ones I’m thinking of.”
“I don’t.”
Yu Ning’s face flushed with anger. How could she have known that Su Yien had also trained in self-defense? Besides, Su Yien was naturally stronger than her in a direct fight, she’d definitely lose.
“You know.”
“I. Don’t. Know.”
Each word was enunciated sharply. At that moment, Yu Ning was in an extremely foul mood.
Just then, something happened that made her feel even worse.
“Goodbye, Class Monitor.”
A voice snapped Yu Ning out of her thoughts.
Only then did she notice Lin Yanqing standing not far down the hallway. It seemed they hadn’t been out of the classroom for long.
Yu Ning: “…”
“You!”
Yu Ning was furious. How could she have known Lin Yanqing would come out at that moment? Did she… misunderstand what just happened?
Forgetting her promise to Sun Yiyi, Yu Ning dashed over to Lin Yanqing without a second thought, tugging at her sleeve. “Why didn’t you wait for me?”
Lin Yanqing stopped and glanced at Yu Ning’s hand on her sleeve, subtly shifting her body. Yu Ning watched as the sleeve slipped from her grasp.
“Why should I wait for you?”
Her voice was cold and detached, as if she’d heard something absurd.
“But I’ve always waited for you before?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Yu Ning knew exactly what response she’d receive. Sure enough, Lin Yanqing retorted coldly, “So?”
It wasn’t that Yu Ning wasn’t hurt, but these were things she had chosen to do. Lin Yanqing had no obligation to reciprocate.
“Just now…”
“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”
Lin Yanqing’s icy tone felt like a blade cutting through Yu Ning’s heart.
“Can’t you just wait for me?”
Lin Yanqing heard Yu Ning’s murmur but didn’t turn back, continuing down the stairs without a glance.
Su Yien leaned against the hallway railing, a piece of candy in her mouth. Her playful expression gradually turned serious.
For three minutes after Lin Yanqing left, Yu Ning stood there, motionless and silent.
Su Yien slowly walked over to her, about to speak, but Yu Ning turned and walked away.
Her face was calm, her lips sealed.
Su Yien stood outside the window, watching as Yu Ning packed her bag and left the classroom again.
Originally, she had planned to go to the ice cream shop with Sun Yiyi, but Yu Ning was no longer in the mood. After sending Sun Yiyi a message saying she’d leave first, she walked out of the classroom.
“Hey, Yu Ning.”
Hearing her voice, Yu Ning didn’t pause for even a second.
Su Yien thought about it this situation was partly her fault. Yu Ning seemed emotionally unstable, so she decided to follow and check on her, falling into step beside her openly, without any attempt to hide.
“Yu Ning.”
“Yu Ning.”
“Yu Ning.”
Seeing that Yu Ning remained silent, Su Yien kept chirping her name beside her.
Yu Ning didn’t head to the bus stop or hail a taxi. Instead, she walked slowly, meandering along the sidewalk, occasionally looking up at the sky or glancing around at the road.
Su Yien followed alongside, chattering away with questions. Unsurprisingly, none of her inquiries received a response.
Yu Ning didn’t cry or make a scene. Apart from the initial grievance when speaking with Lin Yanqing, she showed no other emotions afterward.
Even toward Su Yien, who could be considered the instigator of the situation, Yu Ning didn’t lose her temper or say anything.
Su Yien felt that this version of Yu Ning was abnormal. Logically, after being treated this way by Lin Yanqing, she should have been furious inside. But considering Yu Ning’s attitude toward Lin Yanqing, Su Yien guessed she must have felt wronged. Yet, she hadn’t expected Yu Ning to be frighteningly calm.
After a while longer, Su Yien walked alongside Yu Ning for a long stretch. Yu Ning acted as if Su Yien didn’t even exist beside her.
It seemed she was still angry, after all.
“Yu Ning? Yu Ning?”
While waiting for the traffic light, Su Yien and Yu Ning stood at the edge of the sidewalk. Su Yien tilted her head, looking at Yu Ning, and called her name once more: “If you want to cry, just cry. Don’t hold it in.”
Su Yien didn’t know how to comfort others, and in her mind, this was the most reassuring thing she could say.
“Why should I cry?”
Yu Ning finally responded.
Su Yien breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed her emotions were relatively stable, and she probably wouldn’t do anything reckless.
“Are you heading home now?” Su Yien asked.
“Yes.”
Though brief, it was still a reply.
Su Yien glanced back at the path they had taken and realized she was now heading in the opposite direction from her own home.
Might as well do a good deed, Su Yien thought.
She had originally only intended to ask Yu Ning if she had washed her school uniform, never expecting things to turn out this way.
Although she disliked Lin Yanqing, she hadn’t wanted to retaliate in this manner. Moreover, it was clear that this approach wouldn’t cause Lin Yanqing any real harm the only one truly hurt would be Yu Ning.
“Why are you following me?” Yu Ning suddenly asked.
Su Yien looked at her, rummaged in her bag, pulled out a green apple-flavored lollipop, and handed it to her.
“Giving you some candy.”
Yu Ning didn’t take it and instead asked, “How old are you to still like eating candy?”
“Just turned adult not long ago,” Su Yien replied, unwrapping the candy and popping it into her own mouth.
Yu Ning watched as the candy meant for her ended up in Su Yien’s mouth.
“Can’t adults eat candy?”
This version of Su Yien was different from the one Yu Ning usually knew. Today, Su Yien seemed more easygoing and even a little cute.
Actually, Yu Ning’s home wasn’t too far from here, but it would still take over half an hour to walk.
They were now about ten minutes away from home.
“Do you have grape flavor?” Yu Ning suddenly asked.
“Here.” Su Yien pulled out a handful of candies from her bag, selected one, and handed it to her.
Su Yien carrying candy with her was surprising enough, but the fact that she had a whole handful of it in her bag left her even more astonished.
“You actually like eating candy.”
Even if you gave Yu Ning ten extra brains, she’d never have guessed that the usually domineering and aloof Su Yien had a sweet tooth.
Now that was what you called a contrast.
“Is that not allowed?” Su Yien retorted.
Yu Ning stared at her expression, which seemed to say: If you dare deny it, I can’t guarantee what might happen next.
Yu Ning found it baffling, but she didn’t deliberately say anything to provoke her either.
Her emotions were complicated. Logically speaking, because of Su Yien, she’d had a minor conflict with Lin Yanqing. But she didn’t feel angry, annoyed, or resentful toward Su Yien because of it.
On the contrary, thanks to Su Yien’s constant chattering along the way, her mood had inexplicably lifted quite a bit.
Deep down, Yu Ning knew it really wasn’t Su Yien’s fault. After all, she had promised Yiyi not to contact Lin Yanqing for three days, and she shouldn’t have rushed over to talk to him earlier. If she hadn’t been so impulsive, the argument wouldn’t have happened so the main issue lay with herself.
Maybe it was because similar situations had occurred too often, or maybe she truly understood it was her own problem, but on the way home, she didn’t feel particularly sad or upset. Her mind was a blank slate, and she didn’t even know what she was thinking about.
“What’s your favorite food?”
Just as Yu Ning unwrapped a candy, she heard Su Yien’s question.
She popped the candy into her mouth and suddenly remembered she was originally supposed to go get ice cream with Sun Yiyi. Without thinking, she answered, “Ice cream.”
“That’s perfect.”
“Perfect how?” Yu Ning was confused.
“Oh, I forgot you haven’t presented yet, so you can’t smell pheromones.”
“Huh?” Yu Ning still didn’t get it.
“My pheromones smell like ice cream,” Su Yien said, winking at her.
“Oh, what’s that got to do with me?” Yu Ning found the topic pointless.
“How is it not related? My pheromones are your favorite scent isn’t that a connection?”
“…”
“Then I don’t like ice cream anymore. I hate ice cream the most now.”
“Tsk tsk, love turning into hatred.”
Yu Ning: “…”
She took back what she’d thought earlier about Su Yien’s chattering improving her mood.
Su Yien was nothing but a rogue!
“Do you think your pheromones might smell like candy?”
Yu Ning: “No! Impossible!”
Don’t even think about it. If they were candy-scented, she’d…
Yu Ning couldn’t come up with anything she’d actually do.
“Anyway, it’s impossible. Everyone in my family has floral pheromones. How could mine be candy?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Yu Ning covered it, wondering why she’d revealed that.
“I was just making a casual remark. Why are you getting so worked up?”
If Su Yien had just kept quiet, it might have been fine, but her comment only made Yu Ning angrier.
Yu Ning didn’t understand why she had let Su Yien walk with her for so long. She should have chased her away earlier then she wouldn’t be stuck discussing these absurd topics and getting so irritated.
Maybe it was because they’d talked about presentation, but Yu Ning’s face began to feel warm.
“Stop following me. Don’t you have your own home to go to?” Yu Ning snapped.
“My home is right over there. Don’t tell me you live in that complex too? Are we neighbors? Does that mean we can go to and from school together from now on?”
Hearing this, Yu Ning’s face nearly turned green, who would want to go to and from school with Su Yien?
“No! My home isn’t that way!” Yu Ning stopped walking and looked at Su Yien. “I took the wrong path. Goodbye.”
As she spoke, Yu Ning started heading back the way she came.
Seeing this, Su Yien immediately understood why Yu Ning had suddenly turned around and called out to stop her, “Just go home. My house isn’t in that direction I was teasing you.”
“Really?” Yu Ning asked, as if seeking confirmation.
“Really,” Su Yien replied helplessly. She couldn’t quite figure out why she had acted so out of character perhaps she had felt sorry for Yu Ning after witnessing her miserable state upon being rejected by Lin Yanqing and decided to walk her home. Still, teasing her was rather amusing, and Yu Ning seemed quite cute when she wasn’t following Lin Yanqing around.
“Have you ever seen me around here before?”
Yu Ning thought for a moment and realized she hadn’t, so she felt reassured.
“Then I’ll be going. Goodbye!”
Su Yien stood still, watching as Yu Ning stepped onto the crosswalk.
After a few steps, Yu Ning suddenly turned back and looked at her, saying, “I’m not close with you!”
Seeing her earnest expression, Su Yien couldn’t help but laugh.
“Who said we were close?”
Only then did Yu Ning feel at ease and continue walking toward home.
Su Yien hadn’t expected to run into Lin Yanqing on her way back.
And not just her there was someone else by her side.
If she remembered correctly, that person was probably the transfer student who had caused quite a stir not long ago.
At the moment, the transfer student was holding an ice cream, and Lin Yanqing was walking beside her.
Su Yien was in a good mood today and had no intention of speaking to anyone who might ruin it.
But apparently, Lin Yanqing thought differently.
“Su Yien.”
Su Yien didn’t turn her head or pause her steps, acting as though she hadn’t heard Lin Yanqing.
Under normal circumstances, Su Yien might have acknowledged her, but right now, she wasn’t the one in a hurry.
Watching Su Yien walk away without the slightest hesitation, Lin Yanqing’s gaze grew increasingly cold. After a long moment, she suppressed her emotions and spoke calmly, “Let’s go.”
