- Chapter 26 - The Stupid but Truly Beautiful Flowerpot (Part 5)
The “Night” Bar is situated on a corner of a busy commercial street. Its storefront decoration is quite ordinary and unassuming, but those who frequent the place know that there is a whole different world inside.
During the day, the bar is quiet and lonely, with at most a few guests ordering a glass of sake to chat with the bartender. But once night falls, this place becomes a world of wild, demonic dancing.
The first floor features a spacious dance floor. Overhead, perfectly cut crystal chandeliers shine brilliantly, casting colorful beams of light. The crowd thrashes on the dance floor, capable of heating the atmosphere to its peak. The bar counter sells a dazzling array of drinks, and waiters in tight uniforms dressed as bunny girls or little succubi weave through the crowd, looking exceptionally eye-catching.
The second floor and above are set up with private booths. They have significant soundproofing and high privacy, and the interiors are quiet and luxuriously decorated. These are often the choice for men and women who have caught each other’s eyes, but they are also holy sites for group revelry.
The booth spaces here are exceptionally wide, equipped with pool tables, televisions, and large beds; one can fully treat them as a hotel.
By the same token, the price for a booth is not cheap. Ordinary people can only drink and dance on the first floor; only wealthy individuals whose spending reaches a million have the qualifications to make a reservation.
Li Rangnian, who was currently “eating soft rice” from the protagonist Omega and had only 105.3 yuan in change after searching his entire body, stood before the club entrance and sank into deep thought.
The cheapest drink here cost nearly a thousand yuan. What could he do if he went in? Sit and watch others drink?
051 peeked at his expression guiltily and said weakly: [Sorry, Host-dada, I forgot…]
“Ah, it’s fine, it’s fine. It just so happens my alcohol tolerance is poor; I can’t drink anyway.”
Li Rangnian could only be thankful there were no entry restrictions. He lifted his chin slightly and walked inside without looking left or right.
Correct his persona was a sweetie who acted spoiled in front of his husband, but an arrogant, overbearing gold-digger in front of outsiders.
To reflect his status, Li Rangnian specifically wore a “Chanel-style” tweed suit today, which complemented his red lips and white teeth, making him look like a little young master who was ignorant of the world.
He had cleverly sprayed a bit of perfume on the back of his neck: top notes of citrus, middle notes of cedar, and base notes of frankincense. The faint fragrance didn’t appear sharp or overbearing; instead, it had a mature, warm feeling.
His long hair was intentionally blown to be fluffy and draped lazily over his chest, radiating charm with every gesture. Just looking at his face was stunning enough, but his smooth, slender physique was even more soul-stirring.
The moment he entered, noisy music exploded in his ears, nearly shattering his eardrums.
Lights roamed everywhere, illuminating the surroundings in a kaleidoscope of colors. Within the bizarre and garish dance floor, countless men and women were twisting their bodies to their hearts’ content, dancing to the rhythm.
As soon as Li Rangnian entered, he received the attention of many people. Those gazes were either stunned or wicked, lingering on his beautiful face.
By a stroke of luck, a beam of white light happened to shine directly on him. He was bathed in the glow, and even the fine peach fuzz on his face could be seen clearly. From his exquisite, nearly flawless face to his slender legs, every part was perfect he looked as holy as an angel.
In the blink of an eye, the white light moved elsewhere, and the chosen beauty vanished into the dancing crowd.
Li Rangnian squeezed through the throng and sat near a sparsely populated bar counter. His rounded buttocks were pressed into a curve by the high stool, and his long legs were slightly hooked over the crossbar. His trouser legs slid up with the movement, revealing a section of calf as white as lotus root. His socks were slightly tight, cinching his thin ankles and creating a faint red mark where the edge pressed into the flesh.
The bartender was a handsome man with flamboyant dyed blonde hair. His ears were covered in shiny silver rings, and he wore a black sleeveless vest. His pectoral muscles were full, and his exposed arm muscles were firm and powerful. His movements while mixing drinks were highly ornamental.
Seeing Li Rangnian take a seat, the man couldn’t help but let out a whistle, his tone flirtatious: “Yo, beauty. Want a drink?”
“I want a glass of juice.” Li Rangnian didn’t even look up, keeping his head down to play on his phone, sending a message to the protagonist Omega:
Little Money Grubber: Hubby, what are you doing? [Little cat peeking.jpg]
A reply came back quickly:
An: Working. What’s wrong?
Little Money Grubber: Hubby, I want to go shopping, but I don’t have any money on me, sob sob sob. [Rubbing hands.jpg]
An: Money has been transferred to your card. Buy whatever you like, don’t worry.
Li Rangnian’s eyes lit up instantly. He happily clutched his phone, which had just received an inflow of 500,000 yuan, and immediately changed his tune: “I don’t want juice anymore. I want a Long Island Iced Tea.”
“Are you sure, beauty? This drink gets very strong later on.” The bartender leaned in closer, his nose nearly touching the top of the beauty’s head, his eyes full of laughter. “How about an Earl Grey Hot Toddy? My treat~”
A faint, clean fragrance wafted around his nose. The man took a deep, somewhat intoxicated breath, his gaze falling on the other’s chest. Because of the angle, he could even clearly see the snowy-white skin hidden beneath the collar and the slight rise and fall.
Despite not having drunk anything, the man felt himself becoming a bit tipsy. His throat felt dry as he watched the beauty, waiting for his reaction.
Li Rangnian’s willow-leaf brows furrowed. He lifted his pointed chin, finally deigning to give the man a look. He spoke in an unsatisfied tone: “Do I look so poor that I need you to treat me?”
His character in the plot was exactly this arrogant and unreasonable. Because he had used low-level methods to marry the protagonist Omega, he was actually still a pauper at heart, so his mind was very unbalanced he was both gold-digging and vain. To prove he was wealthy, he had spent the large sum of money he initially obtained down to the last cent.
Gu Yin hadn’t expected such a gentle-looking beauty to be so arrogant the moment he spoke. He smiled, finding it even more interesting. “Not at all. It’s just that you’re too beautiful. I want to buy you a drink; would you do me the honor?”
“Fine.” Li Rangnian didn’t show any happy reaction to the compliment, as he felt it was only natural. He nodded reservedly, signaling the man to begin.
How cute, as prideful as a cat, the man thought with a secret laugh.
Gu Yin’s technique was very skillful. His flamboyant movements were a dizzying blur, and soon his body was drenched in sweat. His muscles glistened, looking very sexy.
Immediately following, a glass of Earl Grey Hot Toddy was pushed over. Under the multicolored lights, the liquid was a clear, pale yellow. Steam rose slowly, and one could faintly smell the scent of cinnamon.
Gu Yin said with a smile, “Drinking this in winter warms the body.”
He had intentionally reduced the amount of whiskey, added honey and fruit juice, and replaced the hot water with floral tea, giving it a unique flavor.
It was clear the beauty liked it. He took a tiny sip, and his peach-blossom eyes squinted in comfort. He simply held the glass with both hands, taking small, dainty sips.
After drinking the hot liquid, his face showed a hint of a drunken flush, and his breath was filled with that unique fragrance. A shimmer of moisture appeared in his eyes. With his pure face lifted and his lips stained with wine, every part was perfect.
In front of the floor-to-ceiling window of a second-floor booth, a pale man stood to one side. His lip color was so faint it was almost transparent, making his pitch-black pupils stand out. When he stared directly at someone, the coldness in his eyes was enough to scare away anyone trying to strike up a conversation.
The window was fitted with one-way glass; the people inside could look down at the wild dancing below, but those below couldn’t see a thing inside. It could only be said that the bar owner understood atmosphere very well.
The man’s gaze drifted, suddenly stopping in a corner and remaining fixed there for a long time.
His companion, seeing him motionless, stepped forward and patted his shoulder: “Xianzhi, what are you looking at?”
“Nothing.” Yin Xianzhi snapped back to his senses, his expression devoid of joy or sorrow. He said flatly, “Continue.”
Li Rangnian didn’t notice the silent, observing gaze in the slightest. His alcohol tolerance was truly poor; even though the alcohol content was very low, he was experiencing the effects of a strong spirit. His head was spinning, and his gaze had become dazed.
Gu Yin, seeing him sitting there slowly without moving and looking so well-behaved, couldn’t resist teasing him: “Is it delicious? Call me ‘Gege,’ and I’ll buy you another glass.”
Who would have thought the beauty would actually call out sweetly: “Gege.”
Crap… Gu Yin’s throat moved instinctively. It’s one thing to be good-looking, but why is even his voice so delicate?
“Gege, Gege, Gege!”
Li Rangnian’s eyes were nearly crossing. The blonde man before him was gradually doubling and tripling in his vision.
“So dizzy…” Li Rangnian shook his head, pressing his fingertips to his forehead and closing his eyes tightly. A surge of nausea rose in his throat.
Gu Yin, seeing his complexion change, hurried to his side to support him. “Unwell?”
Gu Yin was filled with regret. Had he known the other’s tolerance was this poor, he wouldn’t have let him drink even a low-alcohol beverage.
“You’re covered in sweat, so dirty.” Li Rangnian buried his head in the man’s pectoral muscles, nuzzling them with a look of distaste, then pleaded in a soft, weak voice: “I want to throw up, sob sob sob.”
Gu Yin was so speechless he laughed out loud. He supported the person and led him toward the washroom, no longer caring about his job. His words sounded like a complaint but he was actually enjoying it: “What a little troublemaker.”
In the washroom, Li Rangnian dry-heaved for a while without producing anything, then began to fuss about needing the toilet.
“Can you manage on your own?” Inside the small stall, Gu Yin looked down at the beauty, who was dizzily tugging at his own zipper but couldn’t get it down. Tears of frustration began to swirl in the beauty’s eyes.
The little thing is quite pitiful. The man, without a second thought, lifted the person in an infant-carry. He supported the beauty’s weight with one hand while the other slid down the waistline, intentionally or unintentionally tracing circles.
“Stop touching… I can’t hold it…” Li Rangnian was trembling from the teasing, nearly crying. Finally, at the last moment, he got it open.
The sound of trickling water echoed. As his brain gradually cleared, Li Rangnian remembered the scene just now, and his face exploded in red: “Are you insane?!” He struggled to get down, wanting to escape this embarrassing posture.
“You’re truly heartless. I clearly helped you,” Gu Yin defended himself with a pained expression, spreading his hands.
“You!” Li Rangnian pointed at him, unable to speak. He simply gave him a fierce glare, turned around, and left.
Gu Yin blinked, then lowered his head and began to chuckle. This is bad. The other party can give me a ‘feeling’ with just a single look. Could I be a pervert?
[Sigh, the protagonist Omega’s friend is in a booth upstairs; we can’t get up there.] 051 was very dejected. Its tone then shifted. [However, getting the persona points is enough; the target doesn’t need to be restricted too strictly.]
“System, did you secretly upgrade behind my back? You’ve become smarter.” Li Rangnian lowered his eyes and chuckled softly. Not paying attention for a moment, he bumped into someone.
Just as he was about to fall, the other party grabbed his hand and gave a forceful pull. Li Rangnian was pulled into the other’s embrace before he could react.
A faint scent of medicinal herbs, slightly bitter this was a scent only found on people who were chronically ill. This thought flashed through Li Rangnian’s mind. The tip of his nose was red from the impact, and moisture shimmered in his eyes. Looking up, he only saw the man’s sharp jawline.
“Sorry. Are you okay?” The man looked down, happening to meet his tear-filled eyes. His fingers involuntarily tightened their grip.
The man’s face was also handsome and upright, but his lips were pale, and his skin was an abnormal, sickly white. His brows and eyes were wreathed in a sickly aura. He also wore a string of Buddhist prayer beads around his neck.
051: [It’s him, it’s him! Host-dada, go get him!]
Li Rangnian’s head ached from the noise. He feigned anger as he spoke: “It hurts so much! You have to compensate me!”
Likely meeting someone like this for the first time, the man was stunned. “What do you want?”
Li Rangnian looked him up and down, noticing the man was wearing an unbranded label though the fabric appeared smooth. He instantly put on a cold face. “Don’t touch me with your dirty hands. Get lost!”
He smacked the man’s hand away, pushing him with an expression of disgust, portraying “snobbery” to the extreme. “Hmph, you can’t afford to compensate me.”
The corners of Yin Xianzhi’s mouth turned up slightly. His voice was gentle, carrying a hint of hoarseness: “Why don’t you tell me… what exactly is it that you want?”
