Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 67.2
Qin Qing opened the door and walked in. Seeing Shen Jueshu’s frosty expression, she spoke softly, “President Shen, President Qi is here.”
Shen Jueshu’s eyes turned even colder. She looked up at Qin Qing and asked, “What does she want this time?”
“She said she wants to talk to you about the SJ project.”
“The SJ project?” Shen Jueshu’s eyes narrowed. Why was Qi Siyu involved in that? They had done all the background research before the project even started—how did nothing come up linking her to it?
“Have her wait in the reception room.”
“Yes, President Shen.”
After Qin Qing left, Shen Jueshu turned to Sui Yu and asked, “Do you want to come along?”
“Of course!” Sui Yu’s eyes widened. There was no way she was letting Shen Jueshu deal with Qi Siyu alone.
“Then make sure to act the part—and don’t speak,” Shen Jueshu said calmly.
Sui Yu pouted. “You don’t trust me.”
Shen Jueshu: “No.”
Sui Yu: Heartbroken.
The two of them headed to the reception room. Sui Yu carried a notebook, looking like she was there to take meeting notes. Qi Siyu barely gave her a glance before shifting her focus back to Shen Jueshu.
Watching her, Sui Yu thought: If Qi Siyu really was the head of the Traversers Association, then Uncle Li’s device worked incredibly well. Even sitting this close, Qi Siyu hadn’t noticed anything off about her.
“President Shen, how have you been lately?” Qi Siyu asked with a smile of concern, as if she were genuinely worried about Shen Jueshu.
Shen Jueshu’s face remained cold and emotionless. She didn’t bother with small talk. “President Qi, what exactly brings you here today?”
Her blunt tone only made Qi Siyu more convinced that Shen Jueshu was running out of strength. Qi Siyu’s expression softened even more. “I just want to help you. You really don’t need to work so hard.”
Shen Jueshu’s face grew colder. She stared at the woman in front of her, lips curling into a frosty smile. “And how, exactly, does President Qi plan to help me?”
Qi Siyu, sensing a shift, looked a bit excited. “I can help you win the SJ project. And I can take over the follow-up work too. You wouldn’t need to worry about a thing.”
Shen Jueshu locked eyes with her, her voice laced with sarcasm. “President Qi, you don’t actually think you can take Sui Yu’s place, do you?”
At the mention of Sui Yu’s name, Qi Siyu’s face twisted for a split second—but she quickly returned to her sweet, innocent expression. “President Shen, I really just want to help. That’s all I mean.”
Shen Jueshu let out a cold laugh. Clearly, she didn’t believe a word of it.
Qi Siyu’s expression darkened for a moment, but she quickly recovered, the corners of her lips curving into a soft smile. “You remind me so much of an older sister I used to have. Would it be okay if I called you ‘sister’ from now on?”
“Sister?” Shen Jueshu’s lips froze mid-smile. In her mind, countless images flashed by—someone calling her “sister,” over and over. The voice belonged to a little girl…?
Seeing Shen Jueshu’s reaction, Qi Siyu’s eyes flickered with a strange mix of excitement and fear. The contrast made her seem even more unhinged, almost disturbingly unstable.
Sitting nearby, Sui Yu frowned subtly at Qi Siyu’s behavior, fingers tightening around her pen as she tried to maintain a composed facade.
“Ugh—” Shen Jueshu suddenly turned pale, her face visibly strained as she let out a few dry heaves. She couldn’t throw up, but her eyes had already reddened from the force.
Seeing this, Sui Yu immediately jumped up and poured her a glass of water, gently patting her back. Mindful of Qi Siyu’s presence, she had to suppress her worry and asked calmly, “President Shen, are you okay?”
Shen Jueshu took the glass and drank the water slowly, trying to suppress the sudden wave of nausea. But just as she started to feel a bit better, Sui Yu—who had been supporting her—was abruptly shoved aside.
The next thing she felt was someone gripping her shoulders and shaking her violently. The motion only made her nausea worse.
“How could you! How could you! Are you really planning to give birth to that monster’s child?!” screamed the woman shaking her. Her voice was full of disbelief and fury.
“What are you doing?!” Sui Yu roared, rushing forward to pry Qi Siyu’s hands off and shielding Shen Jueshu behind her, eyes sharp with alarm.
But Qi Siyu didn’t even glance at her. Her bloodshot eyes stayed fixed on Shen Jueshu as she growled through clenched teeth, “Liking her wasn’t enough—you want to have her child too? Do you even know what you’re doing?!”
The word child made both women freeze. Their eyes met briefly—until Shen Jueshu was the first to look away.
She turned to face Qi Siyu’s frenzied gaze and replied coldly, “President Qi, you’ve crossed the line. Sui Yu is my wife. What’s so hard to understand about me having a child with my own spouse?”
Especially now—it had been nearly a year since she and Sui Yu got married. In most A/O couples, pregnancy would’ve happened months ago.
Qi Siyu was so furious her vision went dark. Her chest heaved as she stared daggers at Shen Jueshu, teeth clenched so tightly she couldn’t form a single word.
Shen Jueshu had no intention of wasting more time in her condition. She let Sui Yu support her and quietly left the room.
Surprisingly, this time, Qi Siyu didn’t try to stop them.
Back in the office, as soon as Sui Yu helped Shen Jueshu to sit down, the calm mask cracked. Panic rushed in.
She looked at Shen Jueshu’s face, then at her stomach, her voice shaking, “Qi Siyu… just now—she said you’re pregnant?”
Shen Jueshu frowned, still feeling a bit queasy. She placed her hand gently over her stomach. Was there really a tiny life growing there?
Her thoughts drifted to that first time with Sui Yu, when she’d allowed herself to be marked. Was that when it happened?
Seeing the dazed look in her eyes, Sui Yu’s anxiety surged. She immediately grabbed their phones and IDs and said, “We’re going to the hospital!”
She wouldn’t feel at ease until they got a proper checkup.
Shen Jueshu looked up at her, flustered and frantic, and somehow—her own fear and confusion eased. A quiet warmth bloomed in her chest.
If there really was a baby inside her… one with features resembling both herself and Sui Yu… the thought alone made her heart ache in the sweetest way.
In truth, Shen Jueshu didn’t feel much resistance to the idea of being pregnant. After all, the first time she let Sui Yu mark her, she had already mentally prepared herself for the possibility.
When they arrived at the hospital, Shen Jueshu quickly went in for the examination while Sui Yu anxiously waited outside. By the time Shen Jueshu came out, Sui Yu was practically trembling—like a leaf in the wind. It was obvious how nervous she was.
Seeing her like that, Shen Jueshu asked softly, “If I really am pregnant, would you be scared?”
Sui Yu looked at her and both shook and nodded her head.
“Hm?” Shen Jueshu gave a soft hum through her nose.
That sound nearly made Sui Yu melt. Her eyes reddened as she said, “If you really are… I’d be so happy. It means I’d finally have a family member connected to me by blood. But I’m also really worried… worried that you’ll suffer.” Especially now, of all times—Sui Yu was terrified that the baby would make things harder for Shen Jueshu.
Shen Jueshu’s gaze softened even more, but since they were still in public, she couldn’t wrap Sui Yu in her arms like she wanted. All she could do was gently comfort her. “Then there’s nothing to be afraid of. If there really is a baby, we should welcome her with joy.”
Sui Yu sniffled and nodded.
They waited patiently for the results. When the doctor finally called them in, both of them grew visibly tense. The doctor looked at the scan and said to Shen Jueshu, “Based on the results, you’re six weeks pregnant. The baby looks healthy, but you still need to be careful—make sure to eat well and get plenty of rest.”
The doctor went on to list many precautions. Shen Jueshu remained calm throughout, but Sui Yu stood by her side, nervously jotting down every word with a notepad in hand—like she was the Alpha instead.
Well, technically she was Shen Jueshu’s Alpha. But to outsiders, she was just an assistant.
By the time Sui Yu had finished writing, her hand was shaking.
They really were going to have a child of their own.
Once they left the hospital and got back into the car, Sui Yu finally dropped her act and pulled Shen Jueshu into her arms. Her eyes were red as she choked out, “W-We have a baby…”
It was something she had never dared to imagine before. In the past, she hadn’t even thought she’d find a partner—let alone have a child.
Feeling the joy pouring from Sui Yu, Shen Jueshu hugged her back, gently rubbing her hand along her back. “Yes,” she said softly. “We really have a baby.”
Her expression was gentle and warm. Even Shen Jueshu herself had never imagined that one day, she’d share a child with someone she loved.
The softness in her voice made Sui Yu cry even harder, until she soaked Shen Jueshu’s shoulder with tears. Finally, Shen Jueshu had to gently push her away and pull out a tissue to help dry her tears.
“My Alpha really is made of water,” she muttered with a sigh.
After wiping her face clean, Shen Jueshu pinched her cheek and teased, “The baby’s not even born yet, and you’re already crying in front of her. What if she ends up not being afraid of you?”
Sui Yu sniffled, “As long as she’s afraid of you, it’s fine.”
In a household, one strict parent was enough.
Hearing that, Shen Jueshu ground her teeth and gave her cheek a light pinch. “So you’re saying I have to play the bad guy?”
Sui Yu mumbled through a sniffle, “I just don’t think she’ll ever be afraid of me.”
She honestly didn’t think she could ever put on a stern face in front of their child.
Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but laugh softly. It was true—Sui Yu didn’t look like someone capable of scaring anyone.
The two didn’t return to the company. Instead, they drove straight home. Later, someone disguised as Sui Yu took the car and left, pretending to be her assistant.
Back at home, Sui Yu carefully helped Shen Jueshu into the house. Watching her move so cautiously, Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but sigh, “I’m only a little over a month pregnant, not eight or nine.”
If she was this nervous already, what would she be like for the rest of the pregnancy?
“Better safe than sorry,” Sui Yu said, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Shen Jueshu gave a soft laugh. There was really nothing she could do about this overly anxious Alpha of hers.
Sui Yu went to prepare a bath for Shen Jueshu again. After they both finished bathing, she sat down with her to discuss what they should do next. She was anxious, afraid that something unexpected might happen.
“It’s fine. Just stick to the plan,” Shen Jueshu said softly, gently brushing her fingers over Sui Yu’s brows. In her heart, she was already imagining what their baby might look like and who the child would take after.
Sui Yu pressed her lips together, still clearly worried.
Seeing her like that, Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but feel a little helpless. “We’re already at a disadvantage. What more do you want to do?”
Although they had set the trap, they still didn’t have much of a chance against the Traversers.
Sui Yu held Shen Jueshu tightly in her arms without saying a word. Deep inside, her desire to deal with the Traversers as soon as possible was growing stronger by the day.
Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, but Shen Jueshu had been unusually sleepy lately. Even when Sui Yu had already woken up, Shen Jueshu was still sleeping soundly. Sui Yu quietly got out of bed, careful not to wake her, wanting her to rest a little longer.
Once she had everything in order, Shen Jueshu finally woke up groggily. When she saw Sui Yu, she beckoned her to come closer. Sui Yu obediently knelt by the bedside, kissed Shen Jueshu’s lips, and released her pheromones to calm her.
“Morning,” Shen Jueshu said, her voice husky.
“Morning, darling,” Sui Yu replied gently.
By the time Shen Jueshu finished getting ready and came downstairs, the housekeeper had already left. The fake Sui Yu was waiting downstairs and greeted them politely when he saw them.
“Make sure to eat more nutritious food,” Sui Yu mumbled to herself, as if reminding herself over and over again — terrified she might accidentally feed Shen Jueshu something unhealthy.
Shen Jueshu looked at her with amused helplessness. “Relax a bit, or you’re going to stress yourself out later.”
Sui Yu pouted and said nothing, still visibly tense and protective.
Maybe Shen Jueshu’s pregnancy had hit Qi Siyu too hard, because she hadn’t shown up in over a week. The other Traversers had also seemingly vanished without a trace.
If it weren’t for the message Sui Yu received from Fu Xin, she would’ve thought the Traversers had already left this world.
Over the past month, the one suffering the most was Jiang Siyue. She’d been constantly on edge, terrified something terrible had actually happened to Sui Yu. The lack of any news only made her more anxious — she was practically burning up with worry.
Li Jiang handed her a cup of herbal tea to help with the heat. Seeing that even her gums were swollen, she felt a pang of sympathy but didn’t know how else to help.
“Maybe she really is recovering. Once she’s better, you’ll see her again,” Li Jiang said softly.
Jiang Siyue looked at her with tightly furrowed brows. “She’s recovering so badly that I can’t even see her?”
Li Jiang hesitated, then changed the subject. “Your brother’s trial starts tomorrow. Are you going to attend?”
Jiang Siyue was momentarily stunned. If Li Jiang hadn’t mentioned him, she would’ve almost forgotten about Jiang Bosheng. When his scandal first broke, everyone had come to watch her fall apart — but when they saw she remained unaffected, they gradually lost interest.
“What’s going to happen to him?” she asked quietly.
“He’ll probably be sentenced. He won’t be getting out any time soon,” Li Jiang replied. She had followed the case closely and knew just how serious Jiang Bosheng’s crimes were.
As Jiang Siyue thought about the man who had been a dark cloud over her life finally being brought down, she felt a sense of release — like a long-awaited vengeance had finally been fulfilled.
“Can we make sure he never gets out?” she muttered.
Li Jiang, who now knew everything, looked at her with deep concern. She reached out to gently stroke Jiang Siyue’s brow and said, “If that’s what you want, then we’ll make sure he never walks free again.”
No matter how that had to happen — as long as he never came out, it was enough.
Jiang Siyue stared at her, then suddenly pulled her into a hug and whispered, “Li Jiang, you can’t leave me again.”
Sui Yu’s fate was still uncertain, but she couldn’t lose Li Jiang too. If she did, she didn’t know how she would keep going.
“I won’t. I promise I won’t,” Li Jiang whispered, holding her even tighter. No matter what, she wasn’t going to leave Jiang Siyue again.
Back on Sui Yu’s side, things weren’t easy either. Just because of everything going on didn’t mean she got to slack off. As soon as they got home, Shen Jueshu immediately sent her off to train, telling her to stop hovering around. She was getting dizzy just watching her walk in circles.
Since she couldn’t go out for runs, Shen Jueshu had turned part of the house into a gym. She brought in a bunch of workout equipment, and now Sui Yu was panting as she ran on the treadmill.
As for Shen Jueshu…
She sat nearby with a fruit platter in her lap, watching Sui Yu run.
Of course, it was Sui Yu who had washed the fruit.
Sui Yu was gasping for air, but compared to before, she was doing much better. Her body, once so frail, was finally building back strength. At least now Shen Jueshu didn’t have to worry about her constantly coming down with a fever or collapsing from exhaustion.
“Not bad,” Shen Jueshu remarked.
Sui Yu perked up at the praise and began running even harder.
Shen Jueshu smiled, pleased. She’d realized something — when you praised a puppy, it always worked harder.
No matter the situation.
When Sui Yu stepped off the treadmill, her legs nearly gave out. She almost collapsed, but managed to steady herself just in time. Shen Jueshu had already half-risen, ready to catch her.
“I—I’m okay,” Sui Yu said, wiping the sweat from her face. “I did great today!”
She looked like her tail could wag straight into the sky.
Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but laugh. “My Alpha is amazing.”
Sui Yu grinned like a happy fool.
The next day, the two of them arrived at the company. To live up to her role as an assistant, Sui Yu had been learning a lot from Shen Jueshu. Just as they were about to enter a meeting room, Shen Jueshu received a phone call — and what she heard made her face turn cold.
“Jiang Bosheng has escaped.”
