Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 63.1
Sui Yu poured a glass of water for Shen Jueshu. As she watched her drink, her gaze lingered on Shen’s lips—moist and glistening from the water. Unconsciously, Sui licked her own lips. She had drunk water earlier too, yet now her mouth felt dry again.
Face slightly flushed, she quickly averted her gaze and cursed herself inwardly. You’re such a pervert.
Shen Jueshu caught her little reaction out of the corner of her eye, and the smile in her eyes deepened.
Perhaps it was because she’d slept well, but Shen Jueshu looked much more refreshed and energetic now. Despite the heavy workload that had piled up, she managed to finish it all efficiently in the short afternoon hours.
As for Sui Yu—though she said she was keeping her company—she was really just sitting nearby, scrolling through her phone, tapping here and there, and occasionally sneaking glances at Shen Jueshu with a sweet little smile on her face.
Even while immersed in work, Shen Jueshu noticed Sui Yu’s movements. Her gaze grew increasingly gentle. The usual frostiness that lingered in her expression had melted away, revealing a softness that even she herself rarely showed.
Later, when Sui Yu started craving snacks, she ordered bubble tea and fruit bowls to be delivered. She poked the straw into the drink and cheerfully trotted over to Shen Jueshu, holding the straw up to her lips with a beaming smile.
“You take the first sip!” she chirped.
Shen Jueshu looked up from her report and gave Sui Yu a long glance. After a moment of silence, she replied, “Too much sugar.”
“But I don’t drink it often!” Sui Yu blinked innocently.
Shen Jueshu: “……”
“Come on, have a sip~ Wifey~” Sui Yu sang out, dragging the words playfully.
Helplessly, Shen Jueshu gave her a look before lowering her gaze and taking a sip. To her surprise, it wasn’t overly sweet—just right.
“How is it? Not too sweet, right?” Sui Yu asked proudly. She knew Shen Jueshu’s preferences well.
“Mhm. Not too sweet,” Shen replied calmly.
Sui Yu smiled brightly, took back the bubble tea, and without hesitation took a sip from the same straw Shen Jueshu had just used. Nodding in approval, she said, “Looks like their ‘less sugar’ actually means it.”
Watching Sui Yu casually drink from her straw without a second thought, Shen Jueshu’s gaze softened even more. So when Sui Yu offered it to her again, she didn’t refuse this time and simply took another sip, still holding onto Sui’s hand.
After that, Sui Yu moved all her things over and leaned against Shen Jueshu’s side. While Shen continued working, Sui Yu alternated between feeding her snacks and watching a movie with her headphones in.
Though they were on completely different wavelengths, somehow, together, they just clicked.
Fortunately, no one came to disturb Shen Jueshu the rest of the day, so no one witnessed how clingy the two of them were being. After work, Shen didn’t continue working late but instead packed everything up, shut down her computer, and turned to Sui Yu.
“Still got room to eat more?” she asked.
“Eh? Are you taking me out for something yummy?” Sui Yu’s eyes lit up instantly.
Just from that look, it was clear—she definitely still wanted to eat.
Shen Jueshu sighed inwardly and gave her a once-over. Despite how much she ate and how little she moved, aside from not having visible abs, she wasn’t even the slightest bit chubby. Some people were just blessed with that kind of metabolism.
Sui Yu followed Shen Jueshu after work. Shen drove them out to a quiet, scenic restaurant on the outskirts of the city. The place had a serene atmosphere, full of charm and elegance.
“Is this a date?” Sui Yu asked gleefully.
Shen Jueshu chuckled softly, indulging the excited little puppy by her side.
Since the weather had warmed up, the two of them didn’t choose to eat indoors. Instead, they had dinner outside on the lawn. With no mosquitoes around in early spring and a soft evening breeze blowing, it had to be said—this was a perfect place for a date.
As Sui Yu ate the steak Shen Jueshu had cut for her, she mumbled while chewing, “If anyone saw this, I’d probably get scolded like crazy.”
After all, she was the Alpha—yet here she was being taken care of by an Omega. That kind of dynamic just didn’t line up with most people’s expectations.
Shen Jueshu looked at her with a helpless expression. “Do you really care that much about what others think?”
Sui Yu shook her head immediately. If she actually cared that much, she would’ve become a full-on Alpha supremacist by now!
Seeing her reaction, a small smile appeared on Shen Jueshu’s lips. “The restaurant’s doing a light show here tonight. You can watch it later.”
It was exactly because she knew about the light show that she’d brought Sui Yu here in the first place.
The moment she heard there was a show, Sui Yu felt even more sure that Shen Jueshu genuinely wanted to take her on a date. After all, isn’t that what dating is about—doing something sweet together, enjoying something beautiful?
“Mm-hmm!” Sui Yu nodded eagerly as she ate, sneaking glances at Shen Jueshu. In her heart, she thought: No matter how dazzling the light show is, it still won’t be as beautiful as Shen Jueshu.
And when the light show began, she still felt the same way. Nothing else could compare—Shen Jueshu had become the most beautiful thing in her eyes.
After dinner and the light show, they drove home together—just like any ordinary couple, returning to their cozy little home after a simple, lovely date.
Later that night, while taking turns in the shower, Sui Yu watched Shen Jueshu step into the bathroom. She still felt a little too shy to follow right after her. It was silly, really—especially considering the two of them had already done everything.
By the time Sui Yu finished her shower and came out, Shen Jueshu was already lying in bed, holding something in her hand—something that looked awfully familiar. Sui Yu immediately realized what it was.
It was something Auntie had quietly prepared for them.
Her face turned bright red in an instant. She opened her mouth but stumbled over her words, completely flustered.
Shen Jueshu looked up at her with a soft smile and said, “I want to try this. Is that okay?”
Sui Yu swallowed hard. Okay?
Of course it was!
She didn’t care about being shy anymore. She dashed over in a few quick steps and jumped onto the bed, hugging Shen Jueshu tightly. Rolling around with her on the bed, she buried her face in Shen’s neck and said excitedly, “Yes, yes, yes!”
Her wife had taken the initiative—what was there to hesitate about?
Pinned beneath her, Shen Jueshu felt Sui Yu’s head nuzzling against her neck. It was as if she could almost see a wagging tail behind her—wagging so hard, it might actually sprout flowers.
This girl… really had no sense of timing.
And yet, that chaos, that enthusiasm—was exactly what made Shen Jueshu fall for her. Hopelessly. Over and over again.
⋯⋯
The next morning, Sui Yu was so sore she could barely hold her chopsticks at breakfast. In the end, it was Shen Jueshu—calm and composed as always—who picked up the chopsticks and fed her without the slightest hint of embarrassment.
Just like Sui Yu’s current situation—it was all because of her.
When Auntie came out of the kitchen, she immediately saw the two of them like that. Her gaze lingered on Sui Yu’s arm for a few extra seconds, her expression thoughtful.
Neither of them noticed Auntie’s look, so they had no idea what they might be walking into later.
Sui Yu blushed as Shen Jueshu fed her, and after she was full, Shen drove the two of them to work.
While changing in the lab, Sui Yu received a message from Fu Xin, asking if she had thought it through.
Sui Yu’s eyes dimmed as she stared blankly at the screen. For a moment, she didn’t know how to reply. But Fu Xin seemed to take her silence as a sign she was being ignored, and sent another message.
Fu Xin:
You and Shen Jueshu have only been together for a few short months. How can that compare to the years we’ve shared? Better to rip off the bandage than drag this out. Maybe your feelings for her aren’t as deep as you think. Once you’re apart, give it some time, and you’ll forget her.
Sui Yu gripped her phone tighter, her face darkening. After a long pause, she finally typed a reply:
Sui Yu:
Is love really something you can just forget, just like that?
Fu Xin:
Of course. No feeling can stand the test of time forever.
Sui Yu lowered her gaze and typed:
Let’s meet.
A reply came instantly: Okay.
Fu Xin then sent an address—an out-of-the-way restaurant in the suburbs, even farther than the one Shen Jueshu had taken her to the night before.
Sui Yu frowned.
Why so far?
Fu Xin:
Didn’t you say you didn’t want any more rumors between us? That place is remote. No paparazzi will follow us there.
Sui Yu thought about it for a moment, then agreed.
She changed back into the clothes she had taken off earlier and went downstairs to look for Shen Jueshu, but she was nowhere to be found. So, she left a message for her and headed out to meet Fu Xin.
As she drove, her face was tense, her eyes sharp with focus.
The farther she followed the GPS, the more isolated the roads became. Any car driving in such a remote area would naturally stand out. Sui Yu glanced into the rearview mirror and saw the bodyguard’s car following behind. Her expression grew darker.
Eventually, she arrived safely at the restaurant Fu Xin had mentioned. Given how secluded it was, it wasn’t surprising that there weren’t many customers. The place felt cold and quiet, not even a greeter at the door.
Sui Yu walked in with a calm expression. She wandered through the restaurant for a while before a staff member finally appeared and led her to the private room Fu Xin had reserved.
When Sui Yu entered, Fu Xin was already inside. The moment she saw her, Sui Yu frowned.
“What happened to your face?”
Looking at her now, Sui Yu couldn’t help but recall how swollen her own face had once been after Shen Jueshu hit her—Fu Xin looked just like that, maybe even worse.
Fu Xin avoided her gaze for a moment, then muttered, “I had a close relationship with a director, and his Omega thought I was a homewrecker and beat me up.”
Sui Yu: “???”
She was stunned. Seriously? You beat the alleged third party but not the actual cheater?
Her expression turned hard to describe, but in the end, she didn’t say much. She just sat down across from Fu Xin and kept quiet.
Seeing Sui Yu like that, Fu Xin’s voice turned pleading.
“Sui Yu, please come with me. Like you said—staying here is too dangerous for you!”
Sui Yu took a deep breath, her voice low.
“But even if we leave, where would we go? And can you really walk away from your career? You’ve worked so hard to get to where you are now.”
Fu Xin forced a bitter smile. “Why not walk away? Look at me now. This industry is full of messes—big and small. I’m tired of it all.”
“You’re tired of it?” Sui Yu murmured. “But I’m not like you. I’m not tired yet.”
“You!” Fu Xin’s expression changed slightly, but she quickly forced herself to look hurt instead. Under the table, her hand clenched tightly into a fist. “So what you’re saying is… you’re choosing to leave me behind and stay with Shen Jueshu?”
Sui Yu lowered her eyes, as if too ashamed to answer.
Fu Xin took a deep breath, then slowly moved to sit beside Sui Yu, her voice pleading.
“Sui Yu, are you really going to throw away all the years we’ve spent together? If something happens to you, what am I supposed to do?”
Sui Yu’s expression tightened, her voice strained.
“You did just fine before me, didn’t you?”
“That’s only because I hadn’t remembered you yet!”
“Then you can pretend I never existed.”
“Sui Yu… So you’re saying you won’t leave with me?”
“I already said—uh… you… you…” Sui Yu’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Fu Xin.
Fu Xin’s expression had completely changed. Her face turned dark as she suddenly pulled out a syringe and injected something into Sui Yu’s arm. A cold smile tugged at her lips.
“Curious what this injection does?”
As her demeanor shifted completely, Sui Yu slumped weakly into the chair, cold sweat forming on her forehead. Her eyes darted anxiously toward the door.
Fu Xin let out a cold laugh.
“Don’t bother looking. No one’s coming to save you.”
Sui Yu’s face turned ashen. She looked back at Fu Xin, gritting her teeth.
“Why… why are you doing this?!”
“Why?” Fu Xin burst out laughing, her eyes filled with malice. “You’re still asking why at this point?” Her face darkened. She tapped her knuckles against Sui Yu’s forehead and said, with a twisted look in her eyes,
“I honestly can’t figure it out—what exactly does she see in you? What could she possibly like about you?”
“With a brain like yours, what do you even have that could win her over?”
Sui Yu’s face was pale, unable to speak.
“So?” Fu Xin sneered, clearly in a good mood now. “Figured out why I’m doing this with that dull little brain of yours?”
Sui Yu trembled, clenching her jaw.
“You… You’re with the Traversers’ Association!”
At that, Fu Xin gave a satisfied smile.
“Not completely hopeless after all, huh?”
Hearing her confirm it, Sui Yu’s eyes flickered with panic.
“Y-you… How do you know about Xiaowen? How do you know I’m not the real Sui Yu?!”
“Heh,” Fu Xin sneered. “You think it’s hard for us to find that out? Do you really think entering someone’s dream is such a difficult thing for us?”
Sui Yu’s eyes widened in shock.
“You—you invaded my dreams?!”
Her lips trembled. She looked as though she’d been pushed past her limit.
“Since things are only going to get worse for you from here,” Fu Xin said with a cruel smile, “I’ll let you in on a little more. We didn’t just see your dreams—we saw Shen Jueshu’s too. Do you know what we found in hers?”
Sui Yu’s gaze froze. She stared at Fu Xin’s swollen face, her expression growing colder.
“We saw,” Fu Xin said slowly, with a sickening smile, “that Shen Jueshu once truly cared for someone. But you? You were just a replacement.”
