Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 62.1
Sui Yu was upstairs, alone in the bathroom, running the bath. As the water rose steadily in the tub, the steam began to mist her cheeks pink. Her face was flushed—soft and dewy—like she might burst with sweetness if someone took a bite.
She stared at the growing waterline for a long moment, dazed, until she finally snapped out of it. With sudden urgency, she bolted upright, rushed to her laptop, and began furiously typing.
Her hands trembled a little as she searched:
“How to reduce pain as much as possible during…”
Her eyes scanned the screen rapidly, fingers tapping anxiously across the keyboard—like a last-minute student cramming before an exam, desperately hoping to absorb whatever knowledge she could.
That’s when Shen Jueshu came in.
She walked up behind Sui Yu and wrapped her arms around her from behind, resting her chin lightly on Sui Yu’s shoulder as she looked at the screen.
And then… she chuckled.
“You—don’t laugh!” Sui Yu’s ears turned red with embarrassment. She threw a hand over the screen as if that would erase the evidence. Her face burned.
Nothing in this world was more mortifying than getting caught by your wife while reading those kinds of guides.
“Study well, my Alpha,” Shen Jueshu teased, her voice soft and sultry. The faint scent of her snow-like pheromones began to drift out and curl around Sui Yu, subtle and teasing.
Sui Yu felt it.
And her face got even redder.
With an almost comical level of stubborn pride, she slammed the laptop shut and turned to hug Shen Jueshu around the waist, looking up with wide eyes.
“I think I’ve already learned enough!”
She couldn’t lose face—not now!
“Oh?” Shen Jueshu arched a brow and let her gaze trail slowly over Sui Yu’s face, her lips tugging into an amused smile. She leaned down and whispered beside her ear, voice low and sweet:
“Then… does that mean I can test your progress?”
Sui Yu straightened up, dead serious.
“If it’s not good, you don’t have to pay.”
Shen Jueshu nearly dropped a vein on her forehead.
She pinched Sui Yu’s cheek with exasperated affection, glaring at her puppy eyes that were practically dripping innocence.
“What are you even selling, hmm?”
Sui Yu blinked innocently but her hands slid under Jueshu’s robe, resting warmly on her bare waist.
Shen Jueshu: “…”
Her palms were just like the rest of her—warm, comforting, and a little mischievous. That warmth seeped through Shen Jueshu’s skin and curled into her chest, bringing an odd tingle.
Resigned, Shen Jueshu sighed, “So are you going to run the bath, or are you waiting for divine intervention?”
The heat of her touch vanished as Sui Yu stood with an obedient little “Oh” and immediately reached for her hand, tugging her into the bathroom together.
She walked slightly ahead, putting on an air of calm, but she didn’t know her pheromones were practically broadcasting her nervous excitement.
Shen Jueshu followed behind, watching her back and laughing quietly to herself.
So this puppy is still nervous, huh?
But truthfully… wasn’t she nervous too?
Still, she knew one thing for certain—if she didn’t take the initiative, this easily flustered puppy might never make the first move. This might drag on forever.
The two of them entered the bathroom, and the shower spray quickly soaked them both.
Mist clouded the air.
In that haze, they smiled at each other.
Fingers intertwined.
The window from earlier was still open.
Night wind drifted in, thinning the room’s rich, heady scent of pheromones. It brushed lightly across Sui Yu’s flushed cheeks, cooling her slightly.
Sweat clung to her forehead, matting her bangs down. It gave her a fragile look she didn’t normally have.
She clutched Shen Jueshu in her arms, both of them soaked, gasping for air. Her nose was a little stuffy, and she mumbled, sounding genuinely aggrieved:
“This… this isn’t how it was supposed to go…”
How did this happen?!
She was the Alpha!
Shen Jueshu heard the small, pitiful tone in her voice and looked up. Her gaze fell on Sui Yu’s downcast expression—like a big dog about to cry from sheer frustration.
It made Jueshu want to pull her close and stroke her head.
In contrast to Sui Yu’s defeated posture, Shen Jueshu’s face was filled with serene satisfaction. Resting lazily against Sui Yu, she reached up and slowly traced her fingers along Sui Yu’s brow line.
She laughed softly.
“I told you to train more, didn’t I?” she teased, voice like silk. “But no… someone just had to slack off. So whose fault is that, hmm?”
Her fingertip traced down to the corner of Sui Yu’s eye. There, she felt something faintly damp. It lingered—a tiny trace of moisture.
She had almost cried, hadn’t she?
So, she’d been holding it in the whole time, trying not to let the tears fall.
Sui Yu felt like she’d just taken a critical hit when she heard Shen Jueshu say she needed to train more. Her mouth flattened into a pout, completely speechless.
She hadn’t realized her stamina was that bad. After just one round, her arms were sore to the point she could barely lift them. And after that… well, she’d spent the rest of the time lying flat, watching Shen Jueshu…
Sure, that version of Jueshu was enough to drive her completely insane, but still—
There was nothing Alpha-like about how it all went down!
Ughhhhh! Jiang Siyue was right after all!
She really was a weak Alpha!
Seeing the frustration written all over Sui Yu’s face, Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but laugh a little. She raised an eyebrow and asked playfully,
“So, still planning to slack off next time?”
Sui Yu: “…”
How was she even supposed to answer that?!
Thinking back on what just happened… she couldn’t let Jueshu take the lead forever. Someday, she wanted to be the one to turn the tables too!
“No more slacking!” she declared, full of resolve.
She would train. She would get stronger. One day, she’d shake off that weak A label for good!
Shen Jueshu looked satisfied with her answer. She got up and turned on the air purifier in the room, letting the thick swirl of pheromones slowly fade into a gentler scent. Then she sat upright, glanced at Sui Yu, and asked with a sly smile:
“Do I need to carry you to the bathroom?”
Sui Yu: “…Are you underestimating me right now?!”
She had been lying down at the end, sure, but her legs were still working fine, okay?!
“Oh?” Shen Jueshu’s voice was laced with meaning as she stepped off the bed, towering slightly over Sui Yu with a teasing gaze.
“In that case, why don’t you change the sheets while you’re at it?”
She pointed at the crumpled bedding under Sui Yu.
Sui Yu: “…Got it.”
Then she watched Shen Jueshu’s retreating figure.
When she finally stood up… her face twisted ever so slightly.
Okay fine, apparently legs could get wobbly too.
Later, the two of them lay together under freshly made, warm sheets. Even though they’d gotten a good amount of sleep earlier, their energy had been thoroughly drained.
Facing each other under the covers, Shen Jueshu leaned in and pressed a light kiss to Sui Yu’s eyelids, whispering softly:
“Goodnight.”
“Mm,” Sui Yu mumbled, half-asleep already.
Shen Jueshu smiled gently and closed her eyes. The strange, lingering dissonance she’d been feeling in her mind for days had finally disappeared.
Looks like Sui Yu was right—this truly had been the key event that broke the script.
Her lips curled ever so slightly.
Now, Sui Yu was completely, utterly hers.
No one else could take her away.
She reached up and touched the back of her own neck where her gland was located. A faint sting confirmed it.
She finally felt at peace.
The next morning, the sound of faint thumping and clattering from downstairs filtered up to their room.
Still half-asleep, Sui Yu wrinkled her brow. Instinctively, she pulled the person in her arms even closer, inhaling the faint scent on Shen Jueshu’s skin that was now tinged with her own pheromones. Her eyes weren’t even fully open yet, but her lips were already curled in a soft, sleepy smile.
Wrapped in her arms, Shen Jueshu mumbled lazily,
“What’s going on downstairs?”
“No idea. You go back to sleep. I’ll check it out,” Sui Yu murmured, gently holding her in place.
This woman had just returned and was still jet-lagged. She needed the rest more.
“Okay…” Shen Jueshu’s response was soft, almost a sigh. Her eyelids fluttered shut again, exhaustion overtaking her easily—between the time difference and… everything else last night, her body just wanted to sleep.
Sui Yu got out of bed, grabbed a robe, and wandered out without even washing her face yet. When she reached the staircase, she saw the housekeeper directing a group of workers carrying some large object.
She rubbed her eyes and yawned, asking sleepily:
“Auntie… what’s going on this early in the morning?”
“Oh no, did we wake you two?” The housekeeper looked a bit apologetic.
“This is the new fridge. The old one was acting up a little, so I thought I’d replace it while the timing was good.”
“Oh… got it.” Sui Yu nodded, confirming there was nothing urgent. She yawned again, still sleepy.
“Just leave the receipt on the dining table later. I’ll transfer you the amount.”
Stretching her arms above her head, she turned and trudged back toward the bedroom.
“Ai!”
The housekeeper watched Sui Yu’s retreating figure with a pleased glint in her eyes. These two were getting closer by the day, and she was more than happy to see it. Especially now that Shen Jueshu had just come back from her business trip, and Sui Yu had stayed home to be with her—that girl’s finally getting a clue.
She thought for a moment, then suddenly wondered:
Had they run out of the supplies she prepared last time?
Should she restock… just in case?
Meanwhile, Sui Yu had no idea what her housekeeper was plotting.
She climbed back into bed after kicking off her slippers and pulled Shen Jueshu into her arms. The two of them soon drifted off again.
By the time they woke up, it was already noon.
Their stomachs rumbled… at the exact same time.
Sui Yu heard it and immediately turned to Shen Jueshu, grinning from ear to ear.
“Your stomach growled!”
It just felt so wrong for someone as poised and composed as Shen Jueshu to make that kind of noise!
Jueshu’s face flushed faintly. She glanced at Sui Yu with a light glare.
“And yours didn’t?”
“It did. That’s why we should get up and eat!”
Sui Yu sat up and tugged on her arm, trying to pull her out of bed.
But Shen Jueshu simply melted forward into her arms like she had no bones, resting her head lazily against Sui Yu’s chest.
“I really don’t want to get up…”
Even the thought of working felt unbearable right now.
“Then how about this—let’s eat first, and then go right back to bed. Deal?”
Sui Yu gently coaxed her, whispering softly near her ear.
Shen Jueshu nuzzled her cheek against Sui Yu’s face for a moment, then finally forced herself upright and shuffled toward the bathroom.
Sui Yu followed behind, still a little worried.
But after watching her walk straight and wash her face without collapsing, she finally relaxed.
At least she wasn’t going to faint or anything.
Watching her fuss like this made Shen Jueshu want to laugh. She turned, cupped Sui Yu’s cheeks in both hands, gave them a playful rub, and then leaned in to plant a fresh, citrus-scented kiss on her lips.
“Morning,” she murmured.
It was a very late morning greeting, but Sui Yu didn’t care at all.
She beamed so brightly it practically glowed.
After they washed up and went downstairs, they found no food prepared—clearly the housekeeper hadn’t expected them to be awake by noon.
So Sui Yu rolled up her sleeves and turned to Jueshu with a grin.
“Looks like you’re stuck eating my cooking today.”
Hearing that, Shen Jueshu’s eyes curved into a soft smile.
“I’m looking forward to it.”
Ever since they met, she’d never tasted anything Sui Yu had cooked herself.
“But just so we’re clear,” Sui Yu warned as she began preparing, “I’m not very good at this. It’ll be very… average. You’re not allowed to say it’s awful, okay?”
“Anything you make will taste good,” Shen Jueshu replied sweetly.
Sui Yu couldn’t help but press her lips together in a shy smile.
Since they’d just woken up and were both starving, they didn’t bother with anything fancy. Sui Yu made two bowls of plain noodles—simple, nothing special, but definitely edible.
And yet Shen Jueshu ate everything, even praising her afterwards:
“I thought it was really good.”
Sui Yu knew she was just trying to make her feel better, but the compliment still made her genuinely happy.
She smiled and teased,
“Has your love filter started affecting your taste buds too?”
Love really could turn anyone into a fool, couldn’t it? Even these ordinary noodles were worthy of praise now.
Shen Jueshu chuckled softly.
“Don’t you think you’re the kind of person who’d inspire that level of love filter?”
With that, Sui Yu puffed up a little with pride.
To be loved like that—that was something special.
“I think I am,” she said, slightly bashful. “But… if you keep this up in public, people are going to talk, you know.”
“Oh?” Shen Jueshu raised a brow, intrigued.
“Talk about what?”
“They’ll say you’re love-brained,” Sui Yu said, barely containing her laughter.
“You know what the internet says—people who are too in love are destined to go out and forage for wild herbs later in life.”
Shen Jueshu showed no sign of being fazed. In fact, she leaned in and countered:
“And what about you? Don’t tell me you’re not love-brained?”
Who was the one calling every day while she was away, clingy beyond reason?
Sui Yu blinked innocently.
“Well, the internet also says: being love-brained alone might get you flamed—but when two love-brained people meet, that’s a match made in heaven.”
