Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 61.1
Fu Xin looked confused. “What kind of world is this?”
Sui Yu slowly withdrew her hand, picked up the glass of water on the table, and took a sip.
“This world… has already completely collapsed.”
She explained the entire story to Fu Xin—from the beginning to the unraveling end. Afterward, she looked at her with a faint smile.
“So, given how things are going… we might still end up separated by fate.”
Her voice was calm when she said this, like she had already resigned herself to whatever destiny had in store.
Fu Xin was stunned, sitting there frozen in place. She looked at Sui Yu in disbelief, her eyes growing red.
“I just found you again… and now we only have this little bit of time?”
Sui Yu didn’t answer. She simply kept smiling.
“Please, Sui Yu, don’t get involved anymore, okay?” Fu Xin clutched her arm, her voice pleading. “Let’s go back to our old life. Don’t stay tangled up with Shen Jueshu anymore, please…”
Sui Yu’s expression stiffened for a moment, then she gave a faint smile.
“But we’ve already marked each other. We belong to one another now.”
“No! You can wash the mark off. Once it’s removed, everything will go back to how it was!”
Fu Xin’s voice suddenly rose with desperation. Then, looking into Sui Yu’s eyes, she begged again,
“Are you going to leave me alone… again?”
“Leave you alone… again?”
Sui Yu repeated the words quietly, so softly that Fu Xin could barely hear them. Then she slowly shook her head.
“I don’t want to leave you… but this isn’t something I can control.”
“There’s still a chance!” Fu Xin insisted, gripping her arm tightly. “Just leave Shen Jueshu. That’s all it takes. We’ll go somewhere far away, where no one knows us. Just like the orphanage—just the two of us, depending on each other.”
Sui Yu looked into her eyes and asked,
“Leaving her… that’s all it would take?”
“Yes! Just leave her, Sui Yu. I can’t go through losing you again.”
Fu Xin’s tears fell in heavy drops onto Sui Yu’s hand—still warm, still full of pain.
Sui Yu looked down, her voice barely audible.
“Let me think about it.”
“Sui Yu!” Fu Xin’s voice rose sharply.
“…Xiaowen.” Sui Yu called softly.
Fu Xin froze. Then she answered, her voice trembling. “Yes?”
“I need time. Because… I truly do love her.”
Hearing that, Fu Xin lowered her gaze. Her arms slowly fell from Sui Yu’s as if all her strength had drained away.
“You really fell in love with her…” she whispered.
Sui Yu didn’t speak again. Her eyes were blank, as though she could no longer take in anything around her.
“Alright then,” Fu Xin said quietly. “I’ll wait for your answer.”
She stood, casting one final glance at Sui Yu.
“I shouldn’t stay here long… not with who I am now. I’ll go for now.”
She stood there for a few seconds, as if waiting—hoping for a word, a movement, anything.
But Sui Yu remained still, her expression shadowed, her body unmoving.
Fu Xin turned and walked away. The sound of her heels tapping against the floor echoed through the room. Then came the soft click of the door opening, and closing.
Sui Yu didn’t move at all.
She lowered her gaze slightly, hiding all the light in her eyes.
No one knew how long she sat there. Eventually, Sui Yu got up and went upstairs. Seeing that it was still early, she took a long shower. Afterward, she put on her reindeer onesie—a full-body pajama set—and by then, her emotions were back under control.
Feeling calmer, she came out of the bathroom, grabbed her phone, and dialed a video call to Shen Jueshu.
The call connected quickly.
On the screen, Shen Jueshu looked like she had just showered as well. She was wrapped in a bathrobe, with her damp hair cascading down messily, a few strands playfully curling near her collarbone—elegant and alluring in a quietly seductive way.
“Wifey~” Sui Yu drawled sweetly, her voice soft and sugary.
The moment she heard that tone, Shen Jueshu knew her little puppy was about to start being clingy again. She glanced sideways at the screen and said, “Calling me that sweetly… did you do something you need to confess?”
Sui Yu stared directly at the screen, her brows drooping a little like a wronged puppy.
“I always call you that sweetly, don’t I? And how could I ever do anything to betray you?”
“Wifey, you have to believe me—your Alpha is the most morally upright A out there.”
She even sounded smug saying it.
“Oh really?” Shen Jueshu raised an eyebrow skeptically, though her eyes were already smiling.
She thought to herself: maybe it’s true. After all, aren’t dogs famously loyal to their owners?
“Anything fun going on over there?” Sui Yu asked, setting her phone down and flopping onto the bed. She propped her face up with both hands, legs bent at the knees, playfully kicking them in the air.
Shen Jueshu noticed her childish posture and couldn’t help softening. Her gaze grew warmer, and she began chatting casually about some amusing things that had happened on her end.
They talked for a long time, reluctant to hang up, until eventually they ended the call.
The moment the screen went black, both their expressions changed.
Sui Yu’s face was half hidden in shadow, unreadable.
On the other end, Shen Jueshu’s expression had turned completely grim. She set the phone down slowly, her face serious.
She hadn’t told Sui Yu the full truth.
With them separated by distance, she didn’t want Sui Yu to worry.
In fact, someone had come overseas with her—Qi Siyu.
They had run into each other at the company earlier that afternoon. After being introduced, Shen Jueshu learned that Qi Siyu also had a working partnership with this firm.
That coincidence alone was enough to raise alarms—was this really just business, or had Qi Siyu planned this?
“President Shen, what a coincidence,” Qi Siyu said with a bright smile. “I only came back to take care of some business, but I didn’t expect to run into you.”
Her gaze burned with thinly veiled intensity. She wasn’t even trying to hide it anymore.
Shen Jueshu had no interest in playing along.
She couldn’t get a clear read on Qi Siyu, and her instincts told her not to let her guard down. Yet even after a thorough investigation, Qi Siyu’s background appeared entirely normal—just another regular person in this world.
“President Shen, you’re smart enough to know what I mean, aren’t you?”
Qi Siyu folded her hands behind her back and turned slightly toward her, smiling like a flirtatious young woman.
Shen Jueshu’s face darkened.
She looked at the Alpha standing before her, her lips curling into a cold, empty smile.
“I’m surprised you’ve forgotten—I’m married. I already have an Alpha.”
Qi Siyu tilted her head. “Oh, I remember. But between the two of us, I think I’m the better match. I can help you more, especially in your career.”
“And if you’re talking about the mark… well, that can always be removed.”
That was enough to make Shen Jueshu laugh—though it was humorless.
She didn’t lose her temper, but her eyes went icy cold as she stared at Qi Siyu.
“Maybe you should go back and re-learn basic etiquette. You might finally understand just how disgraceful your behavior is.”
Trying to insert yourself between a bonded pair?
Clearly not the product of a well-raised home.
But instead of being offended, Qi Siyu only laughed harder, her eyes shining with delight.
“I think I’m quite well-educated,” she said softly. “I just happen to lose control… when it comes to you.”
Her eyes lowered slightly, hiding all the light within them.
No one knew how long she sat there in silence. Eventually, Sui Yu rose and went upstairs. Seeing it was still early, she took a shower. Afterward, she put on her reindeer onesie pajama set. By the time she walked out of the bathroom, her emotions were back under control.
She picked up her phone and called Shen Jueshu via video.
The call connected quickly.
On the screen, Shen Jueshu looked like she had just finished showering as well, her long damp hair cascading loosely over her shoulders, slightly messy. A few strands curled playfully near the edge of her robe, exuding a soft, quiet allure.
“Wifey~” Sui Yu called sweetly, her voice dragging just the right amount.
The moment Shen Jueshu heard that tone, she knew her little puppy was about to start being clingy again. She narrowed her eyes slightly and asked, “Calling me that sweetly… did you do something you shouldn’t have?”
Sui Yu stared at her through the screen, brows drawn slightly, eyes pitiful like a scolded pup. “I always call you this sweetly, don’t I? And how could I ever do anything to betray you?”
“Wife, you have to believe me. Your Alpha is the most disciplined, loyal A there is,” she added proudly, as if declaring a badge of honor.
“Oh, really?” Shen Jueshu raised an eyebrow, but her eyes were already full of amusement.
It might actually be true, she thought. Dogs really are the most loyal to their owners, aren’t they?
“Any funny stories from your side lately?” Sui Yu propped her phone up, flopped on the bed, rested her chin in her hands, and swung her legs in the air.
Shen Jueshu noticed her playful pose, her gaze softening as she began sharing some small, amusing happenings from her day. The two chatted for a long time, reluctant to part, until finally they hung up.
The moment the screen went dark, both of their expressions changed.
Sui Yu’s face was half-shrouded in shadow, unreadable.
On the other end, Shen Jueshu’s smile vanished completely. Her face turned cold as she set the phone down.
She hadn’t told Sui Yu the truth—didn’t want to, not while they were far apart.
What she didn’t say was: Qi Siyu was here. Overseas. With her.
They had run into each other at the company earlier that day. Only after being introduced did Shen Jueshu learn that Qi Siyu had a business partnership with the firm. The timing, the “coincidence”—it all felt too calculated.
“President Shen, what a surprise,” Qi Siyu had said cheerfully. “I only came back for a bit of business and ended up running into you.”
Her gaze was unmistakably heated—blatant in its intensity. She wasn’t even pretending to hide it anymore.
Shen Jueshu had no interest in engaging. Something about Qi Siyu felt off. She couldn’t quite figure her out, and that made her wary. Her background checks came back clean—too clean. Like she was just an ordinary person in this world.
“Someone like you must know what I mean, don’t you?” Qi Siyu said coyly, her hands clasped behind her back, head tilted as she smiled like an innocent schoolgirl.
Shen Jueshu’s face darkened. She looked at the Alpha standing in front of her, lips curling into a cold smirk.
“Perhaps President Qi forgot—I’m already married. I already have an Alpha.”
Qi Siyu tilted her head with a smile. “Oh, I remember. But between the two of us, I think I’m the better match. I could help you far more—professionally and personally.”
“And if it’s about your mark,” she added casually, “well, that can be washed off.”
Shen Jueshu let out a breath, almost laughing at how absurd it sounded.
But her voice remained cold as ice. Her gaze was piercing, devoid of warmth.
“Maybe President Qi needs a refresher course in basic manners. You clearly don’t understand how disgraceful your behavior is.”
To knowingly pursue someone who’s bonded—was that how people from her background behaved?
Qi Siyu, unfazed, simply laughed louder. Her eyes sparkled.
“But I have been well taught,” she replied sweetly. “I just seem to lose control when it comes to you.”
Meanwhile, back at home, Sui Yu let out a soft sigh after putting down her phone. Her mind wandered to everything that had happened earlier with Fu Xin.
She raised an arm and draped it over her eyes. As the world faded into darkness behind her arm, her breathing steadied and her thoughts began to settle.
Fu Xin.
Xiaowen.
Shen Jueshu.
The three names repeated in her mind like a rolling tide, overlapping, colliding—until her head began to ache.
“Ugh…”
She clutched her temples. The sharp, stabbing pain hit her again, cold sweat beading on her forehead. It was like there was something she must not think too deeply about. The moment her thoughts even brushed against it, the pain intensified.
Sui Yu forced herself to clear her mind, to stop thinking entirely. Only after a long while did the pain start to ease. She lay there like a fish washed ashore, her reindeer pajamas soaked through with sweat.
Eventually, she dragged herself into the bathroom for another shower, then changed all the sheets and bedding before finally curling up under the covers again. Only then did she feel a little more at peace.
These episodes had happened before—back when she was in the hospital. But back then, maybe because Shen Jueshu had been by her side, the pain always faded more quickly.
She missed her. So much.
Curled into herself on the bed, Sui Yu suddenly regretted changing the sheets. If she hadn’t, maybe there would still be a lingering trace of Shen Jueshu’s scent. Now, the room felt achingly empty.
The next morning, Sui Yu climbed out of bed with heavy dark circles under her eyes. After washing up, she didn’t even bother with breakfast and drove straight to the Suí family’s old residence.
Uncle Li was surprised to see her back again. After her last dramatic exit, he had assumed she wouldn’t return.
“You’re staring like you’ve seen a ghost,” Sui Yu muttered, exasperated.
She couldn’t help it. Last time she left, it was mostly because Uncle Li’s camp had left her completely speechless.
Their way of doing things really made her question how people like him ever got assigned to management positions.
Then again, she’d seen plenty of “managers” who operated that way—she knew at least one writing site run by people exactly like that. Everyone complained about them.
“What brings you back this time?” Uncle Li asked, eyeing the young woman before him. He already knew—this one never came unless she needed something.
Sui Yu sat down across from him and asked seriously, “Why have you always stayed here? Is there something special about the Suí family?”
The estate had long been without an owner, and yet Uncle Li had never left. He stood guard like a sentry, as though protecting some secret.
Uncle Li chuckled. “I need an identity. And this is the perfect one.”
“Look around—no one runs this place anymore, and as the old caretaker, I get to call the shots. Isn’t this the best retirement gig anyone could ask for?”
Sui Yu: “…That’s it?”
Uncle Li smiled even more kindly. “What, that’s not enough? You’ll understand one day. When you’re my age, you’ll realize how rare and precious peace and stability really are.”
Sui Yu: “…”
She honestly hadn’t expected Uncle Li’s reason to be so simple.
She thought maybe there was something important left in the Suí family that needed guarding—that he was protecting something vital.
But no. Apparently, it really was just that simple.
Still, setting aside her speechlessness, Sui Yu hadn’t come here just for idle chat. There was something important she needed to ask. Her expression grew serious, her voice sinking.
“Uncle Li, I want to know—how did the original host bring me here? How did she have that kind of ability?”
It was something that had been puzzling her for a long time. Back in another world, what method did the original owner use to not only find her—but to drag her into this one, and inhabit her body?
Uncle Li looked at her quietly. His gaze felt like it was cutting through her features, trying to see someone else beyond the face she now wore. But he didn’t speak.
“Uncle Li, the original said you were trustworthy.” Sui Yu’s tone was resolute now. “I want to know—did she gain that power because of help from you or someone else?”
Her logic was sound: even if the original awakened to some kind of ability, interdimensional travel shouldn’t have been possible on her own. The only reasonable explanation was that someone at the Suí household had provided assistance.
Someone like him.
Still, Uncle Li said nothing.
But Sui Yu’s gaze didn’t waver. She stared him down, unyielding, silently demanding an answer.
At last, Uncle Li sighed. “There are things I can’t tell you right now. You’ll have to discover them for yourself.”
Sui Yu gave a half-laugh, more out of frustration than amusement.
“Discover it myself? Are you serious?” Her voice rose slightly. “You know most of the Suí family’s traces have already been wiped clean, right? What do you expect me to find—ashes?”
“And what exactly is it that’s so important, so secret, that you people go out of your way to keep it buried?”
Uncle Li didn’t meet her gaze this time. He simply replied, “One day, you’ll understand.”
Sui Yu fell silent.
Looking at his face, she could tell he wasn’t being evasive out of malice. She was pressing him too hard. So she changed the question.
“Then, aside from your role as the ‘administrator’ in this world… is there anyone else like you?”
Uncle Li shook his head.
Sui Yu: “…”
Great. So there really wasn’t anyone with higher authority than him she could ask.
She sat there for a long time without speaking. Then, in a softer voice, she asked:
“Uncle Li, I want to know—if both I and Shen Jueshu died, what would happen to this world?”
Uncle Li hesitated, then replied with a quiet voice.
“Then this world would finally become a fully independent, parallel universe. It would no longer be bound by any story-driven framework.”
Sui Yu let out a short, hollow laugh.
“Of course. The world moves on, no matter who disappears—even the supposed ‘main characters.’”
Uncle Li didn’t respond. He couldn’t, and he didn’t want to. Because it was true.
“If there’s nothing else I can learn from you, I’ll be going then. Goodbye, Uncle Li.”
Sui Yu came and left like a whirlwind—didn’t even take a sip of water.
Uncle Li watched her back as she left, then let out another long sigh before resuming his role as nothing more than an ordinary old caretaker.
