Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 60.1
After sleeping soundly through the night with Sui Yu and the others, they woke up feeling fully rested. Their bodies felt relaxed, yet a lazy heaviness kept them from wanting to move. Slowly, they sat up. With a silent glance that showed their mutual understanding, they pushed themselves to get out of bed and wash up.
Sui Yu watched Shen Jueshu brushing her teeth in the mirror, a smile quietly blooming in her eyes. This private, unguarded side of Jueshu—she could now enjoy it without restraint.
Shen Jueshu caught her gaze in the mirror and shot her a quick glance, wondering what had made Sui Yu so cheerful this early in the morning.
Her lowered eyes held a rare softness. Maybe it was this carefree, sunny attitude that had drawn her in so completely.
After freshening up, they went to change clothes. Maybe because they had showered together the night before, there was no longer any need for either of them to step out of the room to change. They were growing used to these moments of quiet intimacy—there would probably be many more like this in the future.
Once dressed, they went downstairs for breakfast and then got in the car. Not long after, a bodyguard came over and knocked on the window, handing them a tablet.
Shen Jueshu looked at the screen. It was a video of the truck driver being questioned by the police. Her expression remained calm as she watched from beginning to end. The driver insisted that he had simply been drunk, and with no other evidence, the police had no choice but to hold him temporarily.
Sui Yu watched with her. Although the man looked honest and simple on the surface, something about him felt sneaky and deceptive. She didn’t like him.
“Have you looked into his contacts and financial history?” Shen Jueshu asked.
The bodyguard leaned in and spoke quietly, “Yes. The day before the incident, a large sum of money was suddenly transferred into his wife’s account from overseas. We traced it and discovered the money originally came from Jiang Bosheng’s assistant.”
At the mention of Jiang Bosheng’s name, Sui Yu froze for a moment. Shen Jueshu, however, showed little reaction. She simply nodded and asked, “Did you find anything useful about the people around Jiang Bosheng?”
The bodyguard replied honestly, “So far, we hadn’t noticed anything unusual. But today, he suddenly didn’t go to work. He said he’ll be taking the next few days off and staying at home.”
Shen Jueshu nodded slightly, then rolled up the window and turned to Sui Yu. “Let’s head to the office first.”
Sui Yu nodded. As she drove, she asked, “So, what are you planning to do about Jiang Bosheng?”
Taking out her phone, Shen Jueshu quickly issued a few instructions. Her voice was cold. “If he’s in such a hurry to die, then I’ll help him along.”
Her eyes turned frosty. She had originally planned to wait for the right moment to strike. But now, she realized it was time to speed things up.
“Tell Siyue and the others to be extra cautious. He’s probably desperate now.”
People like him were the hardest to deal with. You never knew what tricks they still had up their sleeves.
When they arrived at the company, the morning passed without incident. But just before lunch, Shen Jueshu received an urgent phone call. A major problem had surfaced in one of their overseas projects. She had to go there in person to resolve it.
Her first thought was: Is someone trying to lure me away on purpose? The timing was just too suspicious. Still, even if it was a setup, she couldn’t ignore it. If the project wasn’t handled properly, the company would face huge penalty fees, and the overseas branch could suffer serious losses.
Shen Jueshu closed her eyes for a moment, then told Sui Yu about the situation. Hearing this, Sui Yu immediately frowned. “How did something this serious happen? Could someone be sabotaging it?”
Shen Jueshu’s face darkened slightly. If this really was sabotage, then the other side had done a very good job. The overseas branch was doing exceptionally well at the moment—giving it up wasn’t an option.
Looking at Jueshu’s expression, Sui Yu asked, “Do you have to go yourself? Can’t you send someone else?”
Shen Jueshu shook her head. “Only I can handle it quickly.”
If she sent someone else, they’d still have to consult her on every major decision. That kind of delay would cost too much time.
Sui Yu sighed, then looked at her firmly. “Then go. Just be careful. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be waiting at the airport the day you come back.”
Hearing those words, a small smile finally appeared on Shen Jueshu’s face. Her expression softened. “Alright. Then wait for me at the gate when I return.”
Time was tight, and she didn’t waste a second. Shen Jueshu grabbed her documents and headed straight for the airport. The rest—clothes, supplies—could be prepared once she got there. She traveled light.
After Shen Jueshu left, Sui Yu began making her own arrangements. She called Li Jiang, telling her to be prepared in case Jiang Bosheng made any sudden moves. At the same time, she informed the staff at Jiang Siyue’s company to be extra cautious when accepting jobs on her behalf—every detail had to be thoroughly vetted.
But even that didn’t feel like enough.
Sui Yu ordered someone to secretly protect Shen’s parents. No matter what happened, they couldn’t be harmed. A little extra caution never hurt anyone.
Once everything was in place, Sui Yu received a message from Fu Xin. She thanked Sui Yu for her help and told her she had officially left her former agency and signed with Shen Jueshu’s talent company.
Seeing the message, Sui Yu finally let out a sigh of relief. She simply replied, “It’s nothing,” and exited the chat. Looking at a face like that, she felt that being able to help—even just a little—was worthwhile.
But not long after, her phone buzzed again. It was another message from Fu Xin, once again thanking her and asking if she could treat her to a meal as a gesture of appreciation.
Sui Yu wasn’t in the mood to eat, nor did she have the time for it.
Sui Yu: There’s no need. I only mentioned your name. In the end, it was your own talent that convinced the company to sign you.
Fu Xin: Still, it was your recommendation that gave me the opportunity. I insist on treating you to a proper thank-you meal. I hope you’ll give me the honor, President Sui.
Sui Yu frowned. This was exactly the kind of social obligation she disliked the most. If she refused outright, it might come off as rude. But if she didn’t, she’d be dragged into something she didn’t want.
Sui Yu: Maybe another time. I’m really busy lately.
She figured she’d put it off for now.
Fu Xin took a few minutes to reply. After two or three minutes, Sui Yu saw her message pop up: Alright. I’ll wait until you’re free.
Was it just her imagination, or did the tone of that message feel… a little off?
Still, she quickly pushed the thought aside—she had plenty of work to deal with herself.
As for Shen Jueshu, she was swamped with work as soon as she landed. With the time difference between them, she and Sui Yu barely had a chance to talk while she was away. Every time that happened, Sui Yu would feel a wave of quiet frustration.
One evening, Sui Yu was lying on her bed when she received a message from Jiang Siyue. She excitedly told her that she had just landed a new script—and the female lead was none other than Fu Xin! The two of them would be working together again.
Reading the message, Sui Yu genuinely felt happy for her. If Siyue was working alongside someone like Fu Xin, she would probably learn a lot from the experience.
Jiang Siyue: Ayu, I’ll be back in Linhai tomorrow. Let’s have dinner together, okay? Fu-jie is also in Linhai right now. Once we start filming, who knows when we’ll get another chance to meet up.
That message made Sui Yu frown slightly. If Fu Xin had invited her directly, she would’ve declined without hesitation. But this was Jiang Siyue’s invitation. And since Siyue would soon be joining the cast, who knew what the filming schedule would be like? A celebratory dinner didn’t seem unreasonable.
In the end, she agreed and told Siyue to send her the reservation details.
The next evening, at 7 PM, Sui Yu arrived at a private restaurant in Linhai known for its discretion—a favorite spot for celebrities, where paparazzi couldn’t easily get in.
She was the first to arrive and waited in the private room. Before long, there was a knock at the door, and a head peeked in. Sui Yu froze for a moment when she saw the familiar face. She hadn’t expected Fu Xin to arrive so early.
Fu Xin smiled when she saw her. “President Sui, I didn’t expect you to be the first one here.”
There was something about her face that made Sui Yu feel both familiar and slightly uneasy. She nodded and said, “The office isn’t far, so I got here a little early.”
Fu Xin smiled again and took the seat across from her. In a soft voice, she asked, “So… when will you finally have time, President Sui? I’ve been waiting quite a while for that meal I owe you.”
Caught off guard, Sui Yu blinked, only then remembering that Fu Xin had mentioned wanting to treat her. She offered a faint smile. “Isn’t this dinner enough? It worked out, didn’t it?”
Fu Xin shook her head. “It’s not the same. This one is to celebrate Siyue. I can’t just ride on someone else’s celebration to thank you properly. A thank-you should come with sincerity.”
Sui Yu: “…”
She hadn’t expected Fu Xin to be this persistent.
Thankfully, it wasn’t long before Jiang Siyue and Li Jiang arrived, giving Sui Yu the perfect excuse to shift the focus.
“Sorry! We got stuck in traffic and ended up running late.”
Jiang Siyue immediately apologized as soon as she stepped in, pressing her palms together as she looked toward Fu Xin with an apologetic smile. “Fu-jie, have you been waiting long? I’m really sorry!”
Fu Xin smiled gently. “It’s fine, I didn’t wait long. President Sui got here first.”
After hearing that, Siyue apologized again, then turned to Sui Yu with a grin. “As punishment, Ayu, you better eat extra tonight!”
Sui Yu: “…”
She couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Li Jiang didn’t seem very comfortable in this setting. She gave Fu Xin a polite nod in greeting, then after a brief pause, gave Sui Yu a quiet hello.
“Now that everyone’s here, let’s bring out the food,” Sui Yu said. She was still hoping to finish the dinner early and maybe find time to chat with Shen Jueshu if she was free.
Siyue signaled for the dishes to be served, her eyes sparkling as she turned to Fu Xin. “Fu-jie, I never got a proper chance to introduce you—this is my girlfriend, Li Jiang.”
She proudly placed her arm around Li Jiang’s shoulder as she spoke.
Li Jiang, clearly a little helpless under the attention, managed a somewhat stiff smile as she looked at Fu Xin.
Fu Xin couldn’t help but laugh at the display. “You two already made it to the trending list—how could I not know?”
Then, turning serious for a moment, she looked at Li Jiang and greeted her sincerely, “President Li, it’s a pleasure.”
Li Jiang nodded politely. “Nice to meet you, Miss Fu. Thank you for taking care of Siyue.”
Fu Xin smiled back, skipping the formalities. Seeing the strong connection between Siyue and Li Jiang, she lowered her voice slightly and said, “I really envy you two—you’re with the person you love.”
Looking at the people in front of her, it was hard not to feel a bit of jealousy. They had what most people spent a lifetime chasing: love, stability, and connection. It really did feel like life had favored them.
“Fu-jie, about that Alpha you mentioned before…”
Jiang Siyue looked a bit hesitant, unsure whether to bring it up.
Fu Xin smiled faintly, as if it didn’t really matter. “Still waiting. That’s all.”
Siyue didn’t know what to say after that. In the end, it was Sui Yu who stepped in to steer the conversation away. “Let’s focus on the food, alright? No need to bring up heavy topics tonight.”
Even though Fu Xin spoke like it was nothing, her glass never seemed to stay empty. When Siyue tried to gently stop her, Fu Xin softly pressed her hand down in response.
Her eyes, under the light, shimmered like amber—beautiful but fragile, as if they could crack at any moment.
“Yuèyuè, let me drink. I’m still perfectly clear-headed.”
Hearing that, Siyue didn’t stop her again. As close as they were, Fu Xin was still her senior in the industry—there were lines not easily crossed.
Once no one tried to stop her, Fu Xin drank more freely—and soon pulled Siyue into it as well. The two of them sat close, whispering and giggling. On the other side of the table, the two Alphas could only watch helplessly as the night got rowdier.
Li Jiang sighed and rubbed her forehead. She couldn’t understand how Siyue had gone from trying to stop the drinking to joining in so quickly.
She tried to talk Siyue out of drinking more, but Siyue wouldn’t budge. She gently tapped Li Jiang’s collarbone with her fingertip, said nothing, and simply looked at her with those misty, slightly glazed eyes.
That look alone was enough to make Li Jiang surrender.
Sui Yu, who had silently watched everything unfold, took a sip of orange juice and thought to herself:
Li Jiang is really done for. That’s some serious soft control. Not a word said, and she caved instantly?
At the time, Sui Yu kept her distance, pretending not to be involved. But when the meal ended, she was caught off guard.
Both Jiang Siyue and Fu Xin were completely drunk. Li Jiang was already struggling to support Siyue—handling Fu Xin on top of that was too much to ask.
Sui Yu: “…”
She stared at Fu Xin, who was now slumped over the table, murmuring half-coherently.
Wasn’t she just insisting she was “still sober” earlier?
Now Sui Yu had a dilemma. She couldn’t just take Fu Xin home herself. A drunk Omega being escorted by an Alpha? If someone got a picture of that, she could already imagine tomorrow’s headlines. It would be a media nightmare.
“What’s your manager’s number? I’ll call her to come pick you up,” Sui Yu asked.
Fu Xin, eyes half-closed and voice slurred, murmured, “Don’t… don’t have a manager yet…”
Sui Yu: “…”
She looked up and exchanged glances with Li Jiang. Both of them looked equally stuck.
“Alright then, I’ll ride in the same car with you to take her home. Even if someone takes pictures, with all of us around, it shouldn’t turn into a scandal.”
She had been burned too many times by the paparazzi taking photos out of context—she didn’t want to see another rumor-filled headline online ever again.
Li Jiang thought about it and agreed—this was probably the best solution. In the end, Li Jiang drove, Sui Yu sat in the passenger seat, and the two drunks were buckled into the back with seatbelts. Sui Yu’s car followed behind, driven by a bodyguard.
But once they got into the car, the two of them exchanged another glance—and realized a new problem.
Where did Fu Xin live?!
Sui Yu frowned and turned around to look at Fu Xin. “Where do you live?”
“Hmm? Wha… what?”
“I’m asking where your home is!” Sui Yu raised her voice a little.
“No… no home. I don’t have a home…” Fu Xin mumbled, too drunk to speak clearly.
Sui Yu: “…”
Li Jiang suddenly remembered that Jiang Siyue had once stayed over at Fu Xin’s place, so she tried asking her. But Siyue was even more out of it than Fu Xin. At least Fu Xin could still somewhat answer questions—Siyue, on the other hand, was completely incoherent.
“What now?!”
Sui Yu rubbed her temples, feeling overwhelmed. If she had known it would turn out like this, she never would’ve let Fu Xin drink in the first place. And she couldn’t just leave a drunk Omega at a hotel either. If anything happened… there would be no undoing it.
Li Jiang thought for a moment, then pulled out her phone. Not long after, she managed to get the number of the paparazzo who had once exposed the dating rumors between Jiang Siyue and Fu Xin. She called and asked where Fu Xin’s home was.
Sui Yu: “…”
Li Jiang really was bold—she actually called the person who had leaked gossip about her own girlfriend. Sui Yu could only imagine the chaos in that paparazzo’s mind when he saw her name flash across the screen.
But surprisingly, it worked. Li Jiang quickly got the address and began driving.
Soon, they arrived outside Fu Xin’s apartment complex. To avoid rumors, Li Jiang stayed in the car with Jiang Siyue, while Sui Yu called in a few female bodyguards to help her. Together, they brought Fu Xin upstairs. Once inside, Sui Yu placed her on the bed in the master bedroom, pulled a blanket over her—didn’t even bother taking off her coat—and made sure she was safe before turning and leaving with the bodyguards. She didn’t dare waste a second longer.
