Lady Seraphina of House Altvier had her engagement publicly annulled by Roderick, heir to the Duke of Vandering, during a high-society party.
The reason given for breaking off their betrothal was a completely fabricated accusation: “She stole party management ideas from her own sister Isabella. The one truly deserving recognition is Isabella, not Seraphina.”
Though Seraphina understood this was her sister’s scheme, the overwhelming influence of House Vandering forced her to surrender all her accomplishments to Isabella even her engagement.
But was this truly misfortune?
