You Should’ve Said Earlier that you’re Such a Little Flirt! - Chapter 7
After a dripping, soul-stirring bout of passion, Xu Qingqiong’s eyelids were a faint, thin red. She kept her eyes half-closed, her physical strength completely spent, burying her head in the pillow and refusing to move an inch.
Lin Konglu helped wipe away her tears and cleaned up the “trash” that had been carelessly tossed onto the floor. She asked softly, “Do you want to take a shower?”
Xu Qingqiong forced her eyes open a crack before quickly snapping them shut again. Her voice was slightly hoarse. “No… tired…”
However, having just broken a sweat, sleeping while feeling sticky was both uncomfortable and unhygienic. She tugged at Lin Konglu’s sleeve and blurted out without thinking, “You help me with it.”
Lin Konglu stiffened, not reacting to the request for a moment.
Under normal circumstances, Xu Qingqiong would never have made such a demand. But she was far too exhausted; her brain had turned to mush.
The moment the words left her mouth, Xu Qingqiong snapped awake.
If she and Lin Konglu were a couple who had married for love, she might truly have made such a request—but she and Lin Konglu weren’t like that.
Still, resting her chin on the pillow, she felt a flicker of curiosity: would Lin Konglu refuse her?
Xu Qingqiong waited for a while, but when no answer came, she looked up at her. Using an incredulous tone, she said provocatively, “You’re unwilling?”
Her expression seemed to say: If it weren’t for you, would I be in this state?
Lin Konglu let out a long breath. “…Alright.”
Xu Qingqiong propped herself up on her arms and leaned against her, burying her head in Lin Konglu’s shoulder, mumbling softly, “Then make it quick, okay?”
She had said those exact words just moments ago, though under very different circumstances.
Xu Qingqiong didn’t realize the implication, but Lin Konglu instantly recalled some rather “wicked” imagery.
Frowning slightly, Lin Konglu steeled herself and reached out to pick her up.
Xu Qingqiong, however, broke into a grin. For some reason, she found Lin Konglu’s serious expression quite cute. She straightened up and laughed, “Haha, just kidding!”
Without giving the other woman a chance to react, she hopped off the bed and headed for the guest bathroom.
Lin Konglu watched her retreating figure and let out a helpless, faint smile.
Xu Qingqiong showered quickly. When she returned to the bedroom, she found that Lin Konglu hadn’t come out yet.
She sprawled out on the bed, waiting for a bit until she was too sleepy to stay awake, and drifted off.
Inside the bathroom, Lin Konglu leaned against the door, locking it as if out of a sense of guilt to ensure Xu Qingqiong couldn’t enter. Only then did she exhale, reaching out to grip the cold edge of the sink as the strength drained from her body.
The woman in the mirror had long hair cascading over her shoulders. With a tilted nose and red lips, her usual coldness was gone, replaced by a misty haze in her eyes.
She bit her lip with restraint. The corners of her eyes were stained a damp red; she looked like a flower drenched by rain. The disciplined mask she usually wore had faded, revealing an alluring, decadent beauty.
Her mind was still replaying the sights and sounds of the darkness from moments ago.
Xu Qingqiong had been so compliant, clinging to her. Perhaps because it was dark and there were fewer inhibitions, the stifled gasps that were usually held back in her throat were released with varying intensity… though, her usual soft moans were lovely too.
And… she did whatever she was told. A person who was usually scattered and prickly had suddenly become incredibly docile in that moment. Her voice and body were soft beyond belief; when told to lift a leg, she lifted it; when told to arch higher, she arched higher…
It was as if she had turned into a pool of water, allowing herself to be kneaded in the palm of Lin Konglu’s hand.
…So obedient. Truly so obedient.
Lin Konglu’s emotions surged, and she began to lose control of herself again. A few teardrops trickled down, merging into a single water line at her snowy-white chin.
She had a “tear-incontinence” physique—she had been this way since she was a child.
As she took over company affairs through high-intensity study, her physical fatigue and the erosion of her emotions had allowed her to control it well. However, whenever it involved Xu Qingqiong, she still found it difficult to hold back.
Xu Qingqiong’s sobbing, her whimpers…
Every single sound became a catalyst for her emotions, evolving into an uncontrollable urge to weep.
Lin Konglu was glad she hadn’t turned on the lights earlier; otherwise, her undignified state would have been exposed.
She tidied her appearance, watching the person in the mirror return to “normal.” She set her face into a cold, disciplined expression, and only after confirming there were no traces of her lapse did she walk out of the bathroom.
She cautioned herself inwardly: she had to restrain herself during every touch. She must never show a weakness, because Xu Qingqiong wouldn’t like her this way.
She had gone to great lengths to “trick” this person into her hands; she would never let go.
Xu Qingqiong was so tired she was on the verge of deep sleep when she caught a blurry glimpse of Lin Konglu lying down beside her.
Under the flickering shadows of the lamp, she suddenly had an illusion—the corners of Lin Konglu’s eyes looked flushed, like smeared rouge.
What’s going on? Did Lin Konglu cry?!
The thought sent a jolt of excitement through her. Her heart skipped a beat, and her sleepiness vanished instantly. She flipped over, propping herself up on her elbows to stare intently at the other woman.
“…” Sensing the gaze, Lin Konglu’s long lashes fluttered. She turned her head and opened her eyes. “What is it?”
Xu Qingqiong leaned over her shoulder, scrutinizing her by the light of the bedside lamp.
This time, she saw clearly. Everything was visible.
Lin Konglu gazed back at her. The wall lamp cast a warm, soft glow over her snowy cheeks, but it couldn’t melt that layer of coldness.
It really was an illusion.
Xu Qingqiong let out a tiny sigh and shook her head. “Nothing.” Inwardly, however, she couldn’t help but despise herself. Was she overthinking? What was wrong with her brain!
Besides, in this bed, she was the only one who ever did any crying. Why would Lin Konglu cry? Maybe in the next life.
Seeing that Lin Konglu was still watching her, she reined in her thoughts and quickly closed her eyes. She nudged around to find a comfortable position, wrapped herself in the quilt, and—out of a petty impulse—reached out and gave Lin Konglu’s waist a squeeze.
Ha. It’s actually quite soft.
