You Should’ve Said Earlier that you’re Such a Little Flirt! - Chapter 6
Actually, Lin Konglu was very skilled in the kitchen; she could turn even the most unpalatable dishes into something flavorful. However, Xu Qingqiong truly loathed eating vegetables.
The meal was spent without any enjoyment.
She leaned listlessly against the sofa, watching out of the corner of her eye as Lin Konglu cleared the table and put the dishes into the dishwasher.
Once Lin Konglu retreated to the bedroom to rest, Xu Qingqiong remained curled up on the sofa. She patted her stomach, contemplating surreptitiously ordering fried chicken. She was debating between honey mustard or sweet and spicy when a notification popped up on her phone.
[Ye Jianguo: Bring Konglu home this weekend. Your Aunt Qin bought all your favorite foods. We should also discuss the wedding arrangements.]
Her finger froze above the screen, and her mood instantly soured.
Staring at the message for a long moment, Xu Qingqiong let out a cold sneer and replied with a single word: Roll. (Get lost).
Later, she stood by the edge of the bed, hesitating before finally speaking up. “Are you free this weekend?”
Lin Konglu looked up from her book, signaling for her to continue.
“That old man wants us to go back to discuss the wedding,” Xu Qingqiong said with blatant reluctance. “Do you have time?”
He was acting all dignified, but it was really just a probe—testing Lin Konglu’s attitude and seeing how much profit he could squeeze out of her. After all, Lin Konglu was not someone easily manipulated, not to mention the Ses Group she represented.
Leaning against the headboard, Lin Konglu’s finger rested on the page. She glanced at Xu Qingqiong’s expression and asked calmly, “Do you not want to go?”
Obviously. Who would want to see that old geezer?
But she had a reason why she had to go. In the will, the house had been left to Ye Jianguo, but there were many of her grandmother’s belongings inside that she needed to sort through and take away. She didn’t want to go alone.
She shook her head. “No, it’s fine.”
Lin Konglu gave a soft “Mm” and didn’t pry further. “I have time.”
“Oh,” Xu Qingqiong replied.
In a foul mood, she ignored Lin Konglu and curled herself up under the covers.
The lights were turned off. Lin Konglu set her book aside and suddenly called out, “Qingqiong.”
She was rarely addressed by her name like that. It sounded as if it were being caught between teeth, light and airy. Xu Qingqiong wasn’t used to it; a shiver ran through her body as if she’d been hit by an electric current.
“What is it?” Xu Qingqiong took a deep breath and turned to look at her.
Lin Konglu leaned over, felt the temperature of her palm, and said, “Nothing.”
“Oh.” Xu Qingqiong turned back around, completely bewildered.
In the darkness, with their backs to each other, silence fell.
Xu Qingqiong couldn’t sleep; the irritability in her chest refused to dissipate. Every time she received a message from that old man Ye Jianguo, it felt like a bone stuck in her throat. It was truly disgusting.
After tossing and turning restlessly, she accidentally brushed against Lin Konglu’s arm. She paused.
Lin Konglu’s eyes were closed; she seemed to be asleep. Her breathing was steady, soft, and peaceful.
A sudden flare of “unfair” resentment rose in Xu Qingqiong’s heart. How can this woman sleep so soundly?
She rolled over to face Lin Konglu. She had intended to commit a small act of mischief—like pinching her nose. She had been curious for a while: was such a high, perfect bridge of a nose natural?
But just as she reached out stealthily, Lin Konglu seemed to sense it. She grabbed Xu Qingqiong’s forearm, her hand sliding down the line of her arm to firmly envelop her hand.
Their palms met, temperatures merging, fingers interlocking. Lin Konglu pulled her into a half-embrace, using her arm across Xu Qingqiong’s chest to pin her tightly against her.
In this restrictive pose, having lost the use of her arms, Xu Qingqiong felt like a fish out of water. Only her head could move.
Wait, no—she still had her legs.
But before she could even move them, Lin Konglu anticipated her, pressing her own leg down to pin Xu Qingqiong’s.
With her limbs locked down, she was truly immobilized.
Xu Qingqiong struggled left and right, her chest heaving with indignation. She completely forgot that she was the one who tried to start trouble in the first place.
After staring at her for a few seconds, she suddenly leaned in and lunged for a kiss.
“Qingqiong…” Caught off guard, Lin Konglu’s voice was thick with sleep. She let out a muffled groan and instinctively loosened her grip on Xu Qingqiong’s wrist.
Xu Qingqiong took the chance to break free. Still fuming, she decided to go all the way and kissed her again.
It was the first time she had been this proactive. Driven by a streak of malicious desire—and emboldened by the darkness—she wrapped her arms around Lin Konglu’s shoulders and kissed her fervently.
However, a few minutes later, Lin Konglu regained the upper hand. She pinned Xu Qingqiong’s wrists above her head.
With her arms raised and restrained, Xu Qingqiong felt incredibly vulnerable, her softest areas exposed. Her quickened breathing made her even more flustered.
Though she couldn’t see a thing in the dark, she could feel Lin Konglu’s intense gaze upon her.
Lin Konglu’s voice was soft and husky, tinged with inquiry. “Qingqiong?”
The atmosphere stalled for a few seconds. Xu Qingqiong silently struggled, then irritably grabbed Lin Konglu’s hand.
Ambiguous desire was like water overflowing from a basin, splashing out and soaking the bedsheets.
They kissed, their body temperatures intertwining. In the pitch black, they relied entirely on touch. Their hearing became more acute.
She heard the slight sounds of their kissing, the sound of Lin Konglu opening the bedside drawer, and the quiet crackle of a package being torn open.
…And then Lin Konglu’s cold, detached voice, commanding her to tilt up higher.
Xu Qingqiong: ?
Xu Qingqiong couldn’t help herself; in a fit of pique, she bit down hard on Lin Konglu’s neck.
It was a heavy bite. Lin Konglu was clearly in pain; her movements halted, and she let out a sharp, short breath.
Seeing the reaction, Xu Qingqiong immediately felt awkward. It had been a heat-of-the-moment impulse.
Yet, even so, Lin Konglu didn’t push her away. She rubbed Xu Qingqiong’s lip with her thumb and laughed helplessly. “Are you a dog? That bite actually hurt.”
Laughing? What are you laughing at?
In another rush of adrenaline, Xu Qingqiong leaned down and licked the tooth mark she had just made.
She didn’t mean anything by it; the gesture was more like a kitten nipping at a finger in annoyance—not intended as a sexual invitation.
Lin Konglu’s body, however, instantly stiffened.
Xu Qingqiong froze a second later, her face flushing a deep crimson in the dark. What am I doing?!
The atmosphere shifted instantly; danger began to crawl through the air.
The finger that had been resting on her lip applied slight pressure. Like a small animal sensing a predator, Xu Qingqiong became alert. With her face burning, she tried to pull away and get off Lin Konglu’s lap.
But Lin Konglu moved suddenly. She pressed a hand firmly against the small of Xu Qingqiong’s back, her movements forceful and dominant.
Before she could react, Lin Konglu had cupped the back of her head and began kissing her with a dense, relentless intensity.
In the darkness, their breaths tangled. Ambiguous desire turned into tangible bubbles of liquid crashing everywhere, making it hard to breathe, creating a suffocating sensation akin to drowning.
Xu Qingqiong tilted her head back to avoid it, instinctively trying to break free and escape.
Lin Konglu kissed the corner of her mouth, gently catching one of her hands and pressing it against her own chest. She whispered hoarsely, “Don’t go…”
“…” After a moment, Xu Qingqiong’s stiff body silently softened and yielded.
