What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 2
The explosive music of the bar still roared in her ears, but the words “I just think you’re not quite up to it” detonated even louder in Yan Qingran’s mind.
Not quite up to it?
Pretty infuriating.
For a moment, Yan Qingran’s world went silent.
Ever since she had differentiated into an S-class alpha, this was the first person who dared to question her capabilities.
She stared at the girl in front of her dressed provocatively, with an oval face, a high ponytail, and delicate, harmonious features.
And kind of attractive.
People always tend to be more forgiving toward beautiful things, so her anger subsided.
As the two stood in a standoff, the only one truly suffering was the little Omega in heat.
Zhuang Wei felt unbearably hot, a deep-seated weakness and itchiness spreading through his bones. He hung limply on Cha Yuxuan as if completely drained, the unique scent of an Omega permeating the air around them.
Strange.
Even with such a strong Omega pheromone in the air, why is she completely unaffected despite being so close to Zhuang Wei?
Yan Qingran, wearing two layers of masks, could still catch the scent, her glands warming slightly. The people around had already cleared a space, yet Cha Yuxuan remained perfectly calm at the center of the commotion.
Of course, Cha Yuxuan wouldn’t tell her that she hadn’t yet differentiated and couldn’t smell pheromones, which was why she remained entirely unaffected.
She hooked an arm around Zhuang Wei’s shoulder, pulling the feverish, sweat-drenched Omega tightly against her, as if staking a claim. With a challenging lift of her eyes, she met Yan Qingran’s gaze.
She had drunk quite a bit not completely drunk, but close enough.
An obvious provocation.
Yan Qingran’s gaze swept over the inhibitor patch on Cha Yuxuan’s nape. Beneath her mask, her lips curved into a faint, elegant smile.
She chuckled softly. “I don’t want to take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state.”
The implication was clear: it wasn’t that she couldn’t carry Zhuang Wei out herself, but that she didn’t want to exploit his condition.
“Heh!” Cha Yuxuan couldn’t help but roll her eyes. This person is so uptight. “What’s your relationship with him, anyway?”
They didn’t seem like a couple, couples wouldn’t keep such a distance.
Before Yan Qingran could answer, Zhuang Wei interrupted.
“Hot, so hot!”
He nuzzled against Cha Yuxuan’s neck, his hair brushing her skin as if searching for something at the nape of her neck.
Cha Yuxuan shuddered, goosebumps rising all over. The alcohol-induced haze instantly cleared. “Hey, stop moving. I’ll carry you out right now.”
An Omega in heat was terrifying soft, feverish, and sticky, like a freshly made glutinous rice cake, warm and sweet.
She bent down, slid her hands under Zhuang Wei’s knees, and with a slight crouch, lifted him effortlessly into a perfect princess carry.
Yan Qingran’s gaze inadvertently drifted to Cha Yuxuan’s waist.
It was slender and pale, with faint muscle lines visible under the fragmented lighting, giving off a uniquely wild vibe.
When she exerted force, she moved like a young leopard powerful and explosive.
Her legs aren’t bad either well-shaped.
All the way, Yan Qingran’s eyes hardly left Cha Yuxuan.
With a figure like that, she’d make a great model, Yan Qingran concluded.
She might have forgotten that many people had said the same about her.
Though Cha Yuxuan exercised regularly, carrying a hundred-pound person for a distance still left her slightly breathless, beads of sweat forming at her temples.
“Hey, where’s your car?”
She glanced back at Yan Qingran.
And directly met Yan Qingran’s completely undisguised gaze.
Her pupils were pure black, clear and clean like glass beads, reflecting distinct images.
They sparkled with a dark brilliance, as if competing with the night sky for beauty.
Cha Yuxuan was momentarily stunned.
If her eyes were this beautiful, what about the rest of her?
Yan Qingran quickly snapped back to reality, raising her hand to point to the left. “Over there, not far, just a few steps away.”
Noticing the sweat at her temples, she added, “Thank you for your hard work.”
Cha Yuxuan composed her expression and turned to walk toward the car. “Actions speak louder than words.”
Yan Qingran hurried ahead of her, unlocked the car, and opened the door. “What reward would you like? I’ll do my best.”
Cha Yuxuan bent down to help Zhuang Wei into the back seat, then straightened up and glanced back at her, meeting a white face mask.
Yan Qingran instinctively reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, revealing two distinct white mask straps nestled in her hair.
That mask was really in the way.
Cha Yuxuan steadied her breathing. “How about this? Take off your mask and let me see you, and we’ll call it even.”
Yan Qingran looked at her once, then again, hesitating.
Although AA relationships were rare, it wasn’t impossible that she had just encountered one.
Right now, she couldn’t quite put her finger on what she was feeling.
The two stood in a stalemate for a moment.
“Tch, fine, keep it on if you want. So stingy.” Cha Yuxuan clapped her hands and walked to the side, wiping sweat off with the back of her hand. “Forget it, I don’t want any reward. You can go.”
With that, she turned and walked away, so carefree it seemed she had no attachments.
Xue Jiu was still waiting not far away, standing on tiptoe and craning his neck to look in their direction. Seeing her return, he immediately waved her over.
AA relationships deserved respect too. Yan Qingran felt ashamed of her own narrow-mindedness.
“Wait.”
She slammed the car door shut, quickly catching up while removing her mask.
A faint smile tugged at Cha Yuxuan’s lips, but she quickly suppressed it and turned back to look.
Yan Qingran stopped about two steps away from her, having taken off her mask. She was stunning, especially those black gem-like eyes, radiant and brilliant, lighting up the entire night sky.
“Thank you.”
Cha Yuxuan heard Yan Qingran thank her politely, with a 90-degree bow.
Almost instinctively, she replied, “You’re welcome.”
She immediately regretted it, wishing she could have said more.
Yan Qingran’s appearance was completely different from her plain attire overall, she was striking, like a blazing flame, blooming unrestrained.
Every feature on her face was unadorned, a beauty that seemed natural and innate, both cool and captivating.
Cha Yuxuan found it hard to imagine how one person’s looks could blend two such contrasting elements, like that drink “Deep Sea Magma” breathtaking at first glance, yet with an underlying coolness upon closer inspection.
It left a deeper impression on her than those black diamond-like eyes.
Yan Qingran didn’t say much more and soon drove away with Zhuang Wei.
Cha Yuxuan stood in place, gazing in the direction she had left, lost in thought for a long while.
Seeing that Yan Qingran had left, Xue Jiu sauntered over, step by step, tiptoeing cautiously.
Cha Yuxuan seemed frozen in place, unmoving. A mischievous glint flashed in Xue Jiu’s eyes as he raised his hand to tap her shoulder.
Just as he was about to make contact, a small smirk curled at the corner of his lips.
“Holy crap!”
Cha Yuxuan suddenly stomped her foot, pounding her right fist into her left palm with a deeply regretful expression. “I forgot to ask for her contact info!”
Xue Jiu was startled by the sudden movement and quickly pulled his hand back.
After adjusting his expression, he cleared his throat. “What contacts info?”
“The masked woman from earlier! Let me tell you, she’s super beautiful!”
“Oh!”
Xue Jiu had been standing farther away and hadn’t seen clearly, but from her silhouette, he could tell she was probably attractive. However, he wasn’t particularly interested in alpha beauties since he was just an ordinary beta himself he figured he’d eventually settle down with a beta woman.
Cha Yuxuan licked her lips wistfully. “Ah, you didn’t see her up close. You wouldn’t understand.”
Xue Jiu glanced at her expression. “Well, you’re quite pretty too. Have some confidence.”
He was telling the truth. Cha Yuxuan had excellent bone structure and facial contours. Though none of her features stood out individually, they harmonized beautifully together, creating a pleasing and enduring appeal. Plus, she had great skin, long legs, and a tall stature overall, she was a striking beauty.
“I’m not lacking confidence! I just regret not asking for her contact info.” Cha Yuxuan turned to him, furrowing her delicate brows into a perfect ‘八’ shape.” “I just wanted to be friends with that beautiful woman.”
“I know!” Xue Jiu blinked. He hadn’t intended to ask, but Cha Yuxuan had spilled everything unprompted.
Cha Yuxuan squeezed her knuckles. “Think about it wouldn’t it be impressive to have a gorgeous friend to go shopping, eat meals, or stroll the streets with?”
Xue Jiu nodded reflexively. “Yeah, that would be pretty impressive.”
“And when posting on social media, you’d feel so much more confident.” The more Cha Yuxuan thought about it, the more she regretted it. Such a stunning woman would be hard to come by again.
Xue Jiu tilted his head, glancing at her neck. “Hey, where’s your patch?”
“What?” Cha Yuxuan had been deep in thought and didn’t catch his words.
Xue Jiu pointed toward the back of her neck. “Your suppressant patch, it seems to have fallen off.”
“Huh?” Cha Yuxuan reached up to feel, it was indeed gone. “It’s fine, that’s not important. Let me continue.”
Xue Jiu: Honestly, I’m more curious about that fake suppressant patch of yours.
Yan Qingran put on her mask as soon as she got in the car, turned on the air vent, and navigated to the nearest hospital. She immediately took Zhuang Wei to the emergency room.
Omegas shouldn’t be outside on the first day of their heat cycle because they become weak after receiving suppressant injections and only recover by the second day.
Moreover, each Omega’s suppressants are customized, so most prepare their doses a few days before their heat and stay safely at home.
Since the ratio of alphas and Omegas in the population is extremely low, both have dedicated medical channels.
Zhuang Wei received specialized treatment quickly, was given suppressants, and the flush on his face subsided. Dressed in zebra-striped hospital gown, he lay on the large bed in the Omega ward. Because he had also been drinking, he soon fell into a deep sleep.
Yan Qingran sat on a bench outside the ward, holding a suppressant patch in her hand.
She had found it unintentionally under the back seat while helping Zhuang Wei out of the car.
Judging by its appearance, it should be an alpha suppressant patch. It couldn’t belong to Zhuang Wei, nor could it be her own. That only left the girl in the spaghetti strap from the bar earlier.
Yan Qingran recalled the calm and composed expression the girl had while dealing with an Omega in heat.
Her control over pheromones must be quite good. Losing a suppressant patch probably wouldn’t affect her much.
Might as well throw it away.
It’s useless now anyway.
The hospital was exceptionally quiet late at night. Yan Qingran quietly walked to the nearest trash can, holding the suppressant patch.
As if guided by some inexplicable impulse, she hesitated for a moment. Glancing around and confirming no one was paying attention, she lifted her mask and brought the patch to her nose.
She gently flared her nostrils to take a sniff.
It seemed like she caught a scent, but then again, maybe not.
She didn’t dare to inhale too deeply.
The scent of pheromones is something deeply private for every Alpha and Omega.
How embarrassing. She immediately lowered the patch, glanced around again still no one had noticed her and tossed it into the trash can.
Throw it away.
She wrestled with the thought but didn’t dare to sniff it again. With her ears burning red, she threw the patch into the trash can and quickly put her mask back on.
What did it smell like?
Yan Qingran closed her eyes, trying hard to recall.
It should have been a very faint scent. She bit her lower lip, straining to remember.
She couldn’t quite grasp it. Fidgeting with her fingers, she stole a glance toward the trash can. At the corner of the hallway, a little girl holding a Barbie doll was staring at her with an innocent, guileless gaze. Who knew how long she had been watching?
In an instant.
The thoughts Yan Qingran had been piecing together in her mind shattered and scattered into disarray.
She swallowed hard, pretending everything was normal, but the tips of her toes began to scrape against the floor involuntarily.
It’s over. Now she couldn’t recall the scent at all.
