What Bad Intentions Could the Heroine Have? [GL] - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Mu Xingyu quickly walked to Feng Chichun’s side and asked, “Chichun, how did you get in here?”
Feng Chichun replied, “I heard some noise over by the changing rooms, so I came to take a look.”
Zhuo Zi, of course, recognized Feng Chichun. The arrogance on her face vanished instantly, replaced by a fawning tone. “Hello, President Feng.”
Feng Chichun gave a slight nod in response, then looked at Mu Xingyu and asked, “Xingyu, are these people you know?”
Mu Xingyu nodded. “Former colleagues, though we aren’t very close. Chichun, what do you think of this piece I’m wearing? I really like this dress, but it’s a bit tight in the chest. If I go up a size, the waist is too loose.”
Feng Chichun cooperated perfectly with Mu Xingyu, saying, “Your figure is too good; that’s a problem with the clothes.”
The back-and-forth between Feng Chichun and Mu Xingyu was enough to make someone die of frustration.
Zhuang Yangyang, holding a garment in the same color scheme, no longer had the heart to try on clothes. Zhuo Zi, sensing that Feng Chichun had no intention of paying them any mind, gave Zhuang Yangyang a look.
“Xiao Zhuang, let’s go look somewhere else. President Feng, please excuse us.”
Zhuang Yangyang was still indignant, but she didn’t dare defy Zhuo Zi’s words and could only follow her out of the changing area.
Only after they stepped out the main door did Zhuo Zi reveal her true emotions.
“I didn’t expect this Mu Xingyu to be smarter than I imagined, actually managing to cling directly to Feng Chichun’s thigh.”
Zhuang Yangyang said disdainfully, “Feng Chichun is definitely just playing around with her. Two women can’t produce a child. Feng Chichun will definitely marry a man in the future, and who knows how miserable Mu Xingyu will be then.”
Zhuo Zi looked at Zhuang Yangyang as if looking at an idiot. “Were you sleeping through your middle school biology classes? Dual-egg fusion technology has been a required question on the biology exams for a long time now.”
Zhuang Yangyang had relied on her beauty since she was a child, and her relatives always joked that with her face, she would never have to worry about food or clothing. Consequently, she never studied seriously; how would she know about such things?
Seeing Zhuang Yangyang speechless, Zhuo Zi said, “Forget it. I didn’t expect you to be very smart anyway. Just remember: follow my arrangements from now on, and you’ll have everything you want.”
Zhuang Yangyang said with a somewhat coy expression, “Sister Zhuo, what do you think about me trying to seduce Feng Chichun? I don’t think I’m any worse than Mu Xingyu.”
Zhuo Zi actually would have liked Zhuang Yangyang to hook up with Feng Chichun, but was that even possible? Who would throw away jade to pick up a pebble?
“I advise you to put that thought away. Don’t let your eyes be bigger than your stomach.”
Inside the changing room, after Zhuo Zi and Zhuang Yangyang left, only Mu Xingyu and Feng Chichun remained.
Mu Xingyu immediately let go of Feng Chichun’s arm. She said, “Thank you, President Feng, for cooperating with me just now. Also, about that President Wang, he’s actually—”
Feng Chichun said, “I know about what happened that day. After all, someone causing a scene at the Yuefeng Hotel is something I can’t ignore. Besides, whether he remains ‘President Wang’ in the future is not a certainty.”
Mu Xingyu’s face was full of shock. “Did something else happen that night?”
“It was just someone who drank too much and damaged a table.”
Feng Chichun spoke nonchalantly, but Mu Xingyu could roughly guess what had happened. Judging by that so-called President Wang’s behavior—thinking he could do whatever he wanted just because he had a bit of money—he probably drank too much, realized she hadn’t come back, and smashed a table.
Just as Mu Xingyu opened her mouth to say thank you, Feng Chichun made a “stop” gesture.
“There’s no need for words of thanks. Handling matters within my subsidiary properties is part of my job. Most importantly, you are now my girlfriend. Lovers don’t go around constantly thanking each other. Your performance just now was quite good; keep it up.”
To be honest, Feng Chichun was truly charming. Not just because of her status as the female lead and her appearance, but also because of her personality.
Mu Xingyu said, “I understand.”
“Hmm? Then what should you be calling me right now?” A faint smile played at the corners of Feng Chichun’s lips.
For some reason, Mu Xingyu didn’t dare look Feng Chichun directly in the eyes. She lowered her head and said, “Chi… Chichun. This outfit doesn’t fit quite right; I’ll go change into another one.”
Feng Chichun said, “Okay, go ahead. I’ll wait for you.”
Mu Xingyu went back into the private changing stall. She changed into an indigo-blue dress, which fit perfectly this time. She went out in the dress, wanting to show it to Feng Chichun.
Feng Chichun was sitting on the sofa holding a cup of coffee. Secretary Fang was standing to the side, holding a document and saying something to her.
Mu Xingyu was a little surprised; in just a short while, Feng Chichun had actually started working. It really was a case of “the people richer than you are also more hardworking than you.”
Seeing Mu Xingyu come out, Feng Chichun made a gesture for Fang Yuandong to stop. She said, “It looks very good.”
Mu Xingyu loved nothing more than hearing people praise her beauty. She happily did a twirl in front of Feng Chichun and asked if she could try on a few more.
Feng Chichun nodded. “As you wish. I still have an hour of free time.”
Mu Xingyu had zero resistance to beautiful new clothes and immediately took several more sets to change into.
Feng Chichun had always been generous; as long as it suited Mu Xingyu, she bought them all. When Feng Chichun paid, Mu Xingyu felt as if she could hear the sound of money splashing away.
Because she had a meeting later, Feng Chichun didn’t personally drive Mu Xingyu home but instead sent a driver to take her back.
Mu Xingyu could understand; after all, she was just a fake girlfriend. To Feng Chichun, work was certainly more important.
Upon returning home, Mu Xingyu couldn’t suppress her desire to show off. She took a photo wearing one of the pieces and posted it to her WeChat Moments.
Before long, dozens of people had liked it. Among them, her best friend Qin Yiru sent a private message.
Ruru: Xingyu, you bought new clothes again?
Mu Xingyu: I can’t really say I bought them; my girlfriend bought them for me.
Ruru: ???? Did I hear that right? When did you start dating? We only haven’t seen each other for half a week, your progress is way too fast.
Mu Xingyu replied: Love at first sight, you know? When love comes, you can’t stop it.
In reality, Mu Xingyu had signed a non-disclosure agreement, so she couldn’t tell even her best friend about the fake relationship.
Ruru: I didn’t expect love at first sight to actually happen in real life. How is she to you? Does she have a good temper?
Mu Xingyu: Pretty good. Even when she’s busy with work, she makes time to accompany me.
If working while accompanying her to buy clothes counted, then what she said wasn’t wrong.
Ruru: Then it seems alright.
Mu Xingyu: By the way, Ruru, have you felt like anything strange has happened around you lately?
Ruru: Strange? No. Xingyu, did something happen to you? If so, you have to tell me.
Mu Xingyu: It’s nothing. I just feel like I’ve been very lucky lately and wanted to know if you felt the same way.
Ruru: By “lucky,” do you mean having a girlfriend? Caught off guard by a mouthful of dog food [barking dog emoji].
After finishing her chat with Qin Yiru, Mu Xingyu opened “Lüjiangjiang” and found the book The Fatal Pampering of the Cruel CEO sitting in her “recent reads.”
Mu Xingyu felt a little afraid as she clicked on the comment section.
What exactly was the truth?
But no matter what the truth was, it seemed she had no other path to choose.
Mu Xingyu scrolled down and saw the author’s reply.
Author’s comment: Ahhh! Thank you, Little Angel, for the Deep-Water Torpedo! I am so happy! Honestly, even I don’t understand how I came up with the plot. My intuition tells me I should write it this way! I feel like the characters under my pen have come to life; they have their own thoughts. Although I am the author, I can’t manipulate their destinies. Does that sound a bit strange? But I truly feel this way!
The most absurd thing was that the author’s intuition was right. Mu Xingyu was indeed a living person with her own will, even able to go online and chat with the author.
Mu Xingyu didn’t intend to say she was “Mu Xingyu.” Even if the author believed her characters had come to life, if someone suddenly popped up in the comments claiming to be the female lead, anyone would think that person was out of their mind.
Mu Xingyu posted another comment, this time saying: [Deep-Water Torpedo] I want to ask the author, what’s with the names in the character list? Is this a HE (Happy Ending)? Will it be angsty for the protagonists? I can’t handle tragic stories.
