Trapped in a Tempting Love - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: The Contract
Su Qianyi’s smile froze. “Ye Feiran, you don’t mean what I think you mean, do you?”
Ignoring Su Qianyi’s dazed expression, Ye Feiran handed her a tablet. A pre-drafted agreement was already on the screen. “Take a look. See if anything needs changing.”
Su Qianyi took it and read every word meticulously. The agreement was simple: it was essentially the two of them helping each other to dig a pit for the Su family.
However, when she reached the end, Su Qianyi fell silent.
What exactly did “Contract Partners” mean?
Based on Su Qianyi’s years of experience acting and reading smutty—no, serious—novels, these kinds of contracts usually ended up developing in an indescribable direction.
Ye Feiran spoke calmly, “I need a suitable public partner. Coincidentally, Miss Su is being pushed into a political marriage with Ye Jingchen. Why not marry me instead?”
She spoke with such solemnity that it felt as if she weren’t discussing a major life event like marriage, but rather a mundane business proposal at a negotiation table.
Su Qianyi’s eyes narrowed slightly, a flash of cunning passing through them. “But Ye Feiran, you dare to marry someone you’ve known for less than twenty-four hours? Aren’t you afraid of losing big?”
“That depends on Miss Su’s own ability to see how much benefit she can extract from me.” Ye Feiran crossed her legs and sat up straighter. “I am quite looking forward to Miss Su’s performance.”
Su Qianyi sighed. She knew there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world—especially not a “super-sized lunch” encrusted with gold and diamonds like Ye Feiran.
Seeing Su Qianyi’s curiosity, Ye Feiran remarked casually, “Perhaps it’s because your performance last night was too good, or perhaps you happen to be just my taste, or perhaps I simply need a partner who can act.”
Su Qianyi nodded, only to hear Ye Feiran’s tone shift as her lips curled upward: “But I hope Miss Su doesn’t remain this curious. Or perhaps you’d like to find out what happens to people who try to guess my thoughts?”
Su Qianyi snapped her mouth shut instantly, suppressed the urge to pin Ye Feiran to the ground and beat her up. But she couldn’t. She didn’t dare. After all, she was weak, pitiful, and helpless.
After a moment of thought, Su Qianyi still felt uneasy and couldn’t help but ask, “Then… do you have any… special kinks?”
Ye Feiran was stunned for a moment but quickly regained her composure. She set down her coffee cup and walked a couple of steps toward Su Qianyi’s sofa.
“Don’t be nervous, Miss Su.” Ye Feiran gave a gentle smile, reaching out to smooth a stray lock of Su Qianyi’s hair. “What kind of person I am, whether I am gentle or not—I thought you, having experienced last night, would be the most qualified to speak on that.”
When Su Qianyi woke up, aside from a groggy head due to the drug, her body didn’t feel any of the expected soreness or weakness.
She answered almost without hesitation, “Gentle.”
Ye Feiran arched an eyebrow, the smile on her face deepening.
Only then did Su Qianyi realize what she had said. She squeezed her eyes shut, refusing to engage in such a shameful exchange.
“Miss Su hasn’t told me yet—was it comfortable?” Ye Feiran bent down, waiting curiously for Su Qianyi’s answer.
“Com… comfortable.” After saying it, Su Qianyi’s face flushed red, then quickly turned pale.
Weren’t these the exact words she had used to tease Ye Feiran earlier? Just moments ago, she had asked if Ye Feiran was injured; now Ye Feiran was throwing the question back to ask about her “experience.”
—This was definitely intentional retaliation.
“In that case, to avoid long nights and many dreams, I ask Miss Su to make a decision as soon as possible.” Ye Feiran sat back down and sighed, bringing up the old topic: “Does Miss Su not want to take responsibility?”
Su Qianyi stared down at the tablet. She recognized every character, but when they were put together, she really wanted to pretend she was illiterate.
Her and Ye Feiran… contract partners?
Su Qianyi muttered to herself, “What ‘responsibility’? This is just the typical ‘sugar baby’ contract that overbearing CEOs love to play with.”
“It’s not,” Ye Feiran said.
“Huh?”
Ye Feiran repeated solemnly, “It is not a sugar baby contract.”
Su Qianyi breathed a sigh of relief. That meant she probably wouldn’t have to fulfill certain physical obligations. It seemed Ye Feiran wasn’t beyond saving after all.
Then, Ye Feiran added: “Besides our mutual cooperation, I will not be giving you an allowance during this period. Therefore, it is not a ‘sugar baby’ relationship.”
Su Qianyi: … That actually sounds quite logical?
But now she regretted it. Could she have the kind of contract that did include an allowance?
She looked up at Ye Feiran again. The high-fashion dress outlined her perfect curves, making her temperament appear even colder and more alluring. Ye Feiran had always been exceptionally beautiful; Su Qianyi had witnessed back then how people flocked to her even before she held power.
As a superior, Ye Feiran possessed an intense aura; when she didn’t speak, she had a sense of detachment that kept people thousands of miles away. Yet it was precisely such a person who was currently offering a marriage contract. It was hard not to feel a flutter in one’s heart.
However, until she decided to reveal her past identity, this contract was a great choice if she wanted a legitimate reason to stay by Ye Feiran’s side.
Fine, she’d sign it. Ye Feiran was the one providing the money and effort, and she was the one taking on a marriage commitment. Besides, Su Qianyi had worked hard for too long before transmigrating, and she had exhausted herself worrying over Ye Feiran during her first trip here. This time, why not just be a “salted fish”?
Leaning on her own “cub’s” leg and letting her carry the team—no matter how she calculated it, she wasn’t the one losing out. Isn’t it just acting? She was an expert at that.
Su Qianyi said with feigned hesitation, “But isn’t this a bit too fast?”
Ye Feiran frowned. “Is it? Then maybe we should just forget—”
Before Ye Feiran could finish, Su Qianyi snatched the electronic pen from her hand and quickly signed her name in the “Party B” slot next to the already-signed “Party A.”
One smooth motion. No hesitation whatsoever.
Ye Feiran was stunned for a moment. She took the electronic contract back, a hint of a smile appearing at the corner of her mouth. “So Miss Su is this impatient. Next time you seduce me, remember you can be even more proactive.”
Su Qianyi dodged away quickly. Fearing Ye Feiran might misunderstand, she obediently shuffled back an inch. “You’re joking.”
Next time? There won’t be a next time. Not in this lifetime. If there is, she’ll curse herself to never live the happy life of a “sea queen” (player) ever again.
However, after signing, Su Qianyi felt something was off. After checking a few more times, she finally remembered what was missing from the contract.
“What is it? A problem?” Ye Feiran noticed her confusion and added, “If you need any help during the contract period, you can ask. I will help with whatever I can.”
“There are no breach-of-contract clauses written here. If you break the contract, won’t I… lose big?” Su Qianyi scratched her head, her voice trailing off.
“There aren’t.”
“Then can we add some?”
Ye Feiran glanced at the contract. “I don’t think it’s necessary.”
Su Qianyi looked up in confusion.
“Miss Su, do you know under what circumstances breach-of-contract clauses are needed?”
“When obligations in the contract aren’t met—for example, failure to deliver goods or money on time. You specify clauses to pay liquidated damages.”
Ye Feiran nodded. “Since Ye Jingchen is involved in this project, according to you, I would have had to step in eventually anyway. Therefore, I might as well act early to reduce losses. As for our agreement, it states that I must treat you as a ‘contract partner.’ The relationship between partners is much closer than that of ordinary people. If I fail to treat you as a partner, then according to the logic of setting breach clauses, I would have to double my efforts in ‘crossing the line’ to compensate you. Does Miss Su wish for me to add a clause stating—that we must go to bed every night?”
The electronic pen in Su Qianyi’s hand fell with a thwack.
She had already been feeling incredibly guilty upon waking up and discovering they had slept together, her conscience stinging enough that she felt she deserved eighteen levels of hell. Ye Feiran was the “little cabbage” she had painstakingly raised, and she wasn’t even thirty yet—the prime of her life. But if that clause were added and Ye Feiran decided to stop being a decent human being, wouldn’t it mean every night…
Even if Su Qianyi had a heart as vast as the ocean, there was no reason to do it every night. Don’t think she doesn’t know that girls can get physically drained if they do it too much! TvT
“Miss Su, do you still want to add the clauses?” Ye Feiran asked with great patience and politeness.
“No need,” Su Qianyi said gloomily. “I think this contract is very complete. There’s absolutely no need to add anything.”
Seeing Su Qianyi being so obedient, Ye Feiran’s heart softened slightly. She offered a friendly tip: “Although I said I won’t proactively give you money, I will fulfill all requests that are beneficial to the project during the contract period.”
“Really?” At the mention of money, Su Qianyi’s eyes lit up. “You mean I can trick you out of your money?”
“It’s true. Every year I attend several charity auctions. The money has to be spent anyway. Whether I spend a bit more on you and a bit less at the auction makes no difference to me.”
Su Qianyi gritted her teeth. “Then I really must thank you.”
Ye Feiran leaned lazily against the sofa, rubbing her neck. She turned her head toward Su Qianyi and said coaxingly: “I don’t have a good relationship with my family. I’ve been lonely, empty, and lacking love since I was a child. So, if Miss Su has the ability, you might as well try to trick me out of my feelings. If you succeed, the entire Ye family will be yours.”
When Su Qianyi heard “lonely, empty, and lacking love,” she really wanted to grab Ye Feiran’s head and ask if she had forgotten all those years of companionship.
But before she could do anything, a knock sounded at the bedroom door.
Ye Feiran walked over. Su Qianyi looked at her wrinkled clothes and instinctively moved to the side to stay out of the visitor’s line of sight.
“President Ye, these are the test results sent by Dr. Gu.” Ye Feiran took the papers and flipped through them. When she saw the specific scientific name, her eyes darkened.
“Mm. Has the other side been sent?”
“We’ve already reported it to the relevant authorities. Also, we’ve bribed a few waiters from Paris Sunshine. According to them, this drug wasn’t an isolated incident.”
“Keep investigating. When the authorities look into it, give them another push. Make sure it’s handled cleanly.”
“Yes.”
The door closed again. Ye Feiran walked back to the sofa. Su Qianyi asked curiously, “So early in the morning, and you’re already doing ‘bad’ things?”
Ye Feiran didn’t deny it. She held up the papers. “Su Qianyi, a gift for you.”
“What?”
“This is the evidence that you were drugged last night. Fortunately, the dosage wasn’t large. After the doctor drew your blood and gave you an IV, the drug was suppressed.”
Su Qianyi was a bit dazed until she followed Ye Feiran’s gaze and saw two tiny needle marks on her hand that were almost disappearing.
Then, she snapped her head up. “So… we didn’t do it last night?”
Ye Feiran scoffed. “What, is Miss Su disappointed?”
Su Qianyi shook her head vigorously, then suddenly stopped. Using a sugary-sweet voice, she pulled her collar down, exposing a shoulder. “That’s right. Not being able to sleep with such a big beauty like you—I’ve lost out big time.”
“Then do you want to try now?”
Su Qianyi snapped her mouth shut instantly. She coughed twice before realizing: “Since we didn’t do anything, why did you trick me into signing that contract?”
“You were drugged last night; did I not save you?”
Su Qianyi nodded. “You did.”
“In our cooperation regarding the Su family, will you not gain benefits?”
Su Qianyi frowned. “I will.”
“Then what are you obsessing over, Miss Su?”
Su Qianyi was stunned into silence. She felt something was wrong, but for a moment, she couldn’t think of an argument to refute Ye Feiran. Come to think of it, it seemed she really wasn’t losing out. No matter how it started, she could now just comfortably cling to Ye Feiran’s leg and enjoy a free ride.
Ye Feiran didn’t press her further and changed the subject. “Paris Sunshine will be shut down soon.”
Su Qianyi adjusted her clothes, frowning. “But isn’t that club owned by the Ye family?”
“It belongs to the Ye family, but it’s not mine.” Ye Feiran took a sip of her coffee.
Su Qianyi quickly realized the key—it belonged to Ye Jingchen. She took a few quick steps forward, crouched down, and leaned against Ye Feiran’s sofa, her eyes curving into a smile. “Thank you, darling~”
Ye Feiran’s hand slipped, her coffee cup making a sharp clink against the saucer.
Seeing Ye Feiran’s reaction, Su Qianyi felt a sense of vengeful satisfaction. She continued to flirt: “I was drugged and threw myself at you, but you didn’t even eat me. You don’t look like you’re frigid; you look more like…”
“Like what?”
Su Qianyi straightened her upper body slightly, leaning close to Ye Feiran’s ear and exhaling softly: “Ye Feiran… is it because you don’t know how?”
She let out a few laughs, looking quite arrogant.
Ye Feiran grabbed Su Qianyi’s arm and agreed: “We’ve already signed the contract. It really is a pity that nothing happened.”
The way Ye Feiran studied her up and down without any disguise made Su Qianyi instinctively want to lean back. But as soon as she moved, Ye Feiran’s other hand wrapped firmly around her back. Only then did Su Qianyi feel a sense of crisis from overplaying her hand.
“Wha—what do you want to do?”
“I suddenly feel that a contract is much less reliable than actually establishing a physical relationship. What does Miss Su think?”
