- Transmigrated into the Zerg Race: Didn't We Agree to Call Off the Engagement?
- Chapter 2 - Dear Fiancé
“I should pleasure you first.”
When it came to his own fiancé, Sirius believed he had at least some understanding of him. If Julian was a lively and passionate sub-male, then Lex was the complete opposite. As a typical military male, his most prominent trait was being a man of very few words.
In theory, high-males should be more accustomed to sub-males like Julian. However, surprisingly, among high-ranking high-males, marrying a military male as a First Male (Cejun) was a widespread phenomenon. The reason, perhaps, was that high-males still retained the most primitive and base predatory desires for conquest and control, constantly driving them to approach powerful military males. And the military department was likely the place with the highest concentration of powerful military males.
Sighing inwardly, Sirius switched off the auto-pilot and reined in his wandering thoughts. He looked down at the massive military base below. After passing through layers of security checkpoints, his hover-vehicle finally touched down. He was not particularly late; after his intimacy with Julian, it was only 7:00 PM. Although they followed a 24-hour cycle similar to humans, night fell slowly for the Zerg race. At seven o’clock, the sky had only just begun to dim.
Sirius stepped out of the vehicle. Lex, having received the message, was already waiting outside the base. Beside him stood quite a few other military males waiting to join the excitement.
“Oh! Commander Lex’s High-lord is here!”
These were ordinary military males. They seemed to welcome Sirius warmly, appearing exceptionally excited as they made friendly jests at the pair. Sirius felt they might naively believe that he and Lex shared a legendary romance, given his willingness to undergo an engagement ceremony with him.
In Zerg legends, after an engagement is set, the high-male and military male encounter more hardships during the process of becoming wed. However, young couples who overcome these obstacles to love each other receive the blessing of the Hive Mother and go on to sire more high-sons. Reproduction and plunder—these things etched into Zerg DNA—were always regarded as sacred.
“Good evening, Your Excellency. Have you eaten? Would you like to go to the canteen?”
Another military male pushed him aside. “Your Excellency, would you like to tour our starship? It sets sail tomorrow, so today is the last chance for a visit.”
Looking at these incredibly enthusiastic males who were constantly trying to entice him with various methods, Sirius overturned his previous thought. Rather than blessing another’s relationship, perhaps they wanted to leave a deep impression on him so they could become his concubines (Censhi) in the future. This was not vanity on Sirius’s part; it was simply how things worked in Zerg society. The higher the rank of the high-male, the higher the probability of high-rank offspring and the higher the chance of siring more high-males. It was not strange that they wanted to keep “fertile water within their own fields.”
Sirius passed no judgment on any of this, but Lex, who had been waiting nearby, suddenly turned dark-faced. Lex harshly scolded them, accusing them of being flippant and deeply disrespectful toward Sirius, and hurried them away. As for what he truly thought, only he knew.
“Lex,” Sirius called out to the stern military male, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly. “I do not feel offended. Do not be too harsh on them.”
He meant it. Compared to the various probes from the Wing Commander before his arrival, these little schemes seemed quite endearing. That was right; the high-ranking officials were not quite as welcoming to Sirius. The Wing Commander had communicated with him repeatedly for a long time, constantly testing whether he had any intentions of entering the military. This was despite the fact that Sirius studied geology and paleontology, stayed out of politics, and had no prior history of meddling with the military. It was simply because he was a high-ranking high-male.
The Zerg race was truly fractured. They were clearly united against outsiders—both military and high-males would not hesitate to sacrifice themselves for the prosperity of the collective—yet in reality, they were so guarded. Even at gatherings of high-ranking high-males, one could see their wariness toward military males.
Before the crowd was sent off for punishment, Sirius grabbed the military male’s wrist. “Alright, I came to see you for a reason. Let us talk in private.”
Almost the instant the high-male spoke, Lex adjusted his expression. After Sirius took his hand, the military male’s eyes lit up completely. He avoided Sirius’s gaze, but the high-male could clearly feel his hand being actively gripped back. He was “Mensa” (bottled up); he fit the stereotype perfectly.
The military males, who always had excellent eyesight, gossiped amongst themselves, looking disdainfully at their beloved Deputy Commander. Lex’s expression instantly became fierce again. “His Excellency Sirius is kind-hearted and specifically pleaded for you. It seems you do not need it, so go to the training room!”
“No, no, no, we need it! We really need it!”
The military males reacted instantly, interrupting Lex. “Thank you, Your Excellency Sirius! We wish Your Excellency and Commander Lex a happy union and early arrival of high-children!”
Unfortunately, Lex did not seem particularly happy about being deliberately flattered; instead, he appeared even angrier. He made a move to kick them from a distance, scaring the other military males into scattering. They grumbled that Lex did not know good words from bad, and even if they were loyal enough not to compete with Lex, other bugs would eventually come to snatch Sirius away.
Hearing this murmur, Sirius glanced sideways, raising an eyebrow slightly. He was actually right. As the other males left in a clutter, Lex stood obediently by Sirius’s side. Sirius could feel that the hand he was holding carried almost no weight. He did not know if Lex was afraid he would notice what he was doing and let go, or if he was afraid Sirius would find him heavy.
“Lex, you are leaving tomorrow, right? If you have time now, can we talk in private?”
An engagement is a state where the “Compatibility Period” cannot be completed, and an application for marriage has only been submitted to the Mainframe. Sirius needed to break the engagement with Lex first before he could re-apply for marriage. The marriage application was obviously submitted by the high-male, but the “cancel” button could only be clicked by the military male. Perhaps the Central Mainframe feared high-males would regret their decisions on a whim, leading to a decrease in the Zerg population. Who knew? It was so desperate for the Zerg to reproduce; one would think the race was on the brink of extinction if they did not know the Zerg were a massive species dominating several galaxies.
“Of course, Your Excellency. Please follow me.”
His voice trembled slightly. Sirius glanced sideways only to see Lex’s ears turning slightly red. He did not know what the male was thinking, but he did not dare look at Sirius once while speaking. It was strange. Sirius only looked at him twice more before his own unreleased hand was gripped back firmly. That hand was not exactly behaving; it swayed back and forth as they walked, as if its owner was very joyful.
Ultimately unable to harden his heart, the high-male allowed Lex to lead him by the hand, taking the opportunity to look at the nearby starships. They were not particularly special—just ordinary military ships. Since they were not launching until tomorrow, they were still grounded and did not show their true scale. Sirius gave them a casual glance before looking toward where they were going.
“Where are we going? Your office or your apartment?”
“The apartment!” Lex’s head dropped a bit lower as he added, “If you want to be in the office, that is fine too, but it might not be very comfortable there.”
“It is fine. As long as there are no other bugs, anywhere is okay.”
It was just a break-up of an engagement; why would it not be okay anywhere? Finding a place without other bugs was also out of consideration for the military male’s pride. Saying it directly in front of his subordinates seemed rather impolite. Sirius’s peripheral vision caught some “little bugs” peeking. When their eyes met his, the atmosphere shifted. Some bugs looked away while others smiled at him. Sirius acted as if he saw nothing, but Lex appropriately quickened his pace. They soon arrived at the military male’s room.
This was a bachelor apartment in the military department, no different from an ordinary one. Sirius looked around; the life of a military male was clearly quite boring. Even his living quarters looked like a model home with sky-blue walls and a light green sofa. Zerg architecture was full of these colors, as they were the closest to nature.
Sirius sat on the sofa, leaning back slightly. Lex stood opposite him, head bowed, not saying a word. Looking up from below, the military male’s eyes were already closed, his eyelids trembling uncontrollably. Upon closer inspection, his entire body seemed to be shaking.
“Do not be nervous,” Sirius advised in a low voice. “No matter what, whatever you choose, I will respect you.”
He felt this military male had already sensed his intention. Perhaps it was difficult to accept for a moment, but he should be able to come to terms with it soon. After all, being a First Male was a completely different existence; they possessed a significant portion of security. Furthermore, a high-level military male like Lex was proud; it was unlikely he would choose to wrong himself for Sirius’s sake. Given his status and rank, he could easily be the First Male for other high-males. Therefore, Lex would likely choose to part ways with him.
This was normal. They had met in the Matching Room originally; it was just a genetic match generated by the Central Mainframe, devoid of any real emotional depth.
Lex froze for a moment. His tense body suddenly relaxed. He seemed to smile slightly as he spoke softly, “Your Excellency, may I draw the curtains?”
“As you wish.”
As soon as Sirius’s words fell, the sensor system automatically closed the curtains and the lights turned on. The warm yellow tone of the light made the atmosphere seem somewhat ambiguous. The high-male instinctively felt something was wrong.
“Do you know what I am going to do?”
Before he could finish his sentence, the military male, who had been holding back for a long time, made his move. That neat, form-fitting training uniform was tossed casually onto the floor. The sturdy muscles of his chest made the clothes look like a compression suit. His white shirt was tucked tightly into his trousers, and his rolled-up sleeves fully exposed the powerful muscles of his forearms. After all these years, the bugs around Sirius all took the form of human males. Regardless of his previous sexual orientation, he likely only had this one preference now.
Moreover, the predatory Zerg genes were always present. Sirius’s gaze unavoidably fell upon the protruding veins of Lex’s forearms, then moved with Lex’s hands to the buttons on his chest, and finally to his trousers. As the belt was unbuckled, Sirius stood up abruptly. The military male’s clothes and trousers fell to the floor, and his bronze-colored body came fully into view.
“What are you doing?”
The high-male’s voice was a bit hoarse, his mouth dry. He clearly meant to question him, but for some reason, even he could not hear a hint of rejection in his tone. His eyes were completely glued to the other’s body. Feeling a bit embarrassed, the military male pressed his legs together, stepped forward, and half-knelt. Their positions were reversed; Lex looked up, his hands clutching Sirius’s sweatpants.
“I should pleasure you first.”
He said, “I took an elective course on Male-Submale Interactions, and my grades were quite good. Would you like to try?”
