Transmigrated into the Early-Deceased Alpha Fiancée of the Female Lead - Chapter 35
At the border of the Demon Realm, the sky was a clear blue, and the sunlight was gently warm. A vibrant field of flowers stretched out across the land, like a colorful fairyland come to life.
In the middle of the flower field, the delicate voice of Yu Meiren rang out dramatically. “Oh no, is it raining?”
Sui Sheng replied, “Don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you from the wind and rain.”
The chicken-like spirit beast spread one wing over Yu Meiren, shielding the dark puffball under it like a noble guardian.
Yu Meiren looked moved. “Ah Sheng, you’re so kind!”
Sui Sheng beamed. “Meiren, I’m only good to you.”
“Hey! Don’t block the water. I’m trying to water the flowers here, not watch a romantic drama.”
A crisp voice interrupted their moment of peace.
An eighteen-year-old girl stood nearby, visibly unimpressed as she stared at the two drama-obsessed spirit pets who were making no effort to get out of the way despite being soaked.
The girl had summoned a continuous stream of water droplets to gently nourish her flowers. She wasn’t trying to set the scene for some melodramatic romance between two spirit beasts.
Though her expression showed clear annoyance, it did nothing to diminish her beauty. Even surrounded by a breathtaking field of blossoms, the vibrant colors of the flowers paled in comparison to her.
Yu Meiren clicked its tongue.
Sui Sheng comforted it, pulling Yu Meiren closer under its wing. “Let’s go. Don’t pay attention to this unromantic alpha.”
Zhu Huabing didn’t respond. She just stared at the two of them in silence.
If these weren’t the spirit beasts left in her care by her mother and her mom, she would’ve already strung them up for a beating.
But before they could take more than a few steps, another “crisis” emerged.
Sui Sheng cried out in panic, “Meiren, hold onto my wing!”
Yu Meiren squealed, “But… I’m scared of getting wet!”
Sui Sheng shouted, “Don’t worry. I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to you. Just hold on to me tightly!”
Yu Meiren sobbed, “Ah Sheng!”
Sui Sheng echoed, “Meiren!”
Zhu Huabing stared blankly at them again. Right in front of them was a tiny puddle.
Did they really need to act like they were parting in life and death? They could have just walked around it.
Suddenly, a flirtatious and melodious voice called from above, “Dianla, I missed you so much!”
Zhu Huabing sighed in exasperation.
Descending like a goddess from the sky came an alluring omega, her presence seductive and enchanting. It was Ye Xili, whose charming fox-like eyes sparkled mischievously as she gazed at Zhu Huabing.
Zhu Huabing’s face darkened. “How many times do I have to tell you? Stop calling me Dianla. I’m trying to water flowers. Go away.”
Every time she heard that name, Zhu Huabing wanted to scream.
Before she was born, her mother and mom gave her two names. One was Zhu Huabing (which means fire melting ice). The other was Han Dianla (cold lighting candles). Unfortunately, she had no say in the matter.
Her mothers had no plans to have more children. They declared proudly that they would pour all their love into her alone.
But later, she began to suspect that her mom, Han Xuejin, just didn’t want to give birth again. She feared a second child would steal her wife Zhu Changxuan’s affection. Her mother always went along with what her mom said. For a brief moment, Zhu Huabing wondered if her moms were the real love story, and she was just an accident.
They let her use the name “Han Dianla” until she turned ten. On her birthday, they finally told her she could choose which name she wanted to keep. Of course, she chose the more normal-sounding one, Zhu Huabing.
Ye Xili, unaware of Zhu Huabing’s inner turmoil, daintily held a handkerchief and pretended to wipe tears.
“Bing’er, how could you say such things? You once begged my hand in marriage right in front of a crowd—and your parents. And now you deny me? My heart is shattered.”
Zhu Huabing was speechless.
That happened when she was five.
“Childish nonsense. Also, stop saying ‘this humble one’ and ‘your servant’ all the time. There are snacks in the pavilion. Go eat them. Just don’t bother me.”
Though Ye Xili adored sweets, she shamelessly persisted.
“Sigh, how could you grow into such a cold and heartless alpha? You were so cute when you were little. You loved your big sister so much. So… when will you marry me?”
Zhu Huabing was used to it. She continued watering her flowers. Ye Xili showed up all the time, clung to her endlessly, and refused to leave. Even if she tried to fight back, Ye Xili would just stand there with a “hit me all you want” look. Zhu Huabing couldn’t bring herself to do it.
It was a doomed entanglement.
Ye Xili was the youngest daughter of the Succubus King. Her mother was from the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan.
When Ye Xili turned eighteen, the Succubus King held a grand birthday banquet. In truth, it was a matchmaking event. Powerful figures from across the cultivation world were invited to assess her as a potential partner.
Although many elite cultivators secretly looked down on succubi, they had heard Ye Xili was the most beautiful among the Succubus King’s children and that she carried the rare bloodline of the Fox Clan. As such, many influential guests attended.
As a formality, the Succubus King had sent an invitation to the Demon Realm’s Supreme, even though he doubted she’d come. The Succubus Clan fell under the Demon Realm’s jurisdiction, but formal relations were minimal.
To everyone’s surprise, the Supreme actually attended.
By that time, the Demon Realm was ruled by Han Xuejin, who had taken over from Han Ying. Zhu Changxuan learned about the banquet and thought of their five-year-old daughter, who spent all her time growing flowers in the courtyard. She had no friends, and her biggest dream was to cover the cultivation world in blooming flowers.
Zhu Changxuan decided to bring her daughter to the party so she could at least see the world. Han Xuejin readily agreed. Thus, five-year-old “Han Dianla” was reluctantly dragged to the Succubus City by her doting parents.
When Ye Xili was forced into the hall, adorned with a garland of colorful flowers and wrapped in embroidered robes covered in blossoms, she felt absolutely humiliated.
She hated the greedy, lustful stares cast upon her by the guests. Filthy pigs, the lot of them. How she wished she could just walk out.
Meanwhile, little Han Dianla sat idly in the guest section, half-asleep, until her eyes lit up.
She saw the gorgeous flowers on Ye Xili’s robes and the dazzling garland on her head. Some of those flowers, she had never seen before!
Her eyes sparkled. She jumped up, sprinted over to Ye Xili on her tiny legs, and exclaimed sweetly, “So pretty! Sister, do you love flowers too? Do you like planting them?”
Zhu Changxuan and Han Xuejin, who had been watching from afar, froze when they heard their daughter speak.
The Succubus King blinked in confusion.
The other guests also fell silent.
Ye Xili looked down at the child’s bright eyes. She was genuinely praising her. So honest. So adorable. She smiled.
“Sure, I like them.”
Truthfully, she didn’t care about flowers. But this little alpha was quite fun, so she just went along with it.
“Great! Let’s go plant flowers together. This place is no fun at all.”
Han Dianla had never met anyone who shared her passion for flowers. No one in the Demon Realm liked them. Overjoyed, she grabbed Ye Xili’s hand and started to pull her away.
Ye Xili blinked in surprise.
Still, she followed along. Honestly, if this kid could drag her away, she’d be glad to skip the matchmaking event. At least she wouldn’t have to get betrothed to one of these disgusting pigs.
The Succubus King panicked. He rushed forward to block the two of them. He didn’t dare scold the child, knowing she was the Demon Supreme’s only daughter.
He tried to coax her kindly. “Young lady, Xili still needs to meet guests… uh…”
He had accidentally said the real reason and quickly tried to cover it up. “She can’t leave just yet. Please don’t take her away.”
Zhu Changxuan quickly approached as well. “Dianla, let go. Don’t interrupt this young lady’s matchmaking.”
The Succubus King’s smile instantly vanished.
He couldn’t even yell at them. So frustrating.
Ye Xili stood in awkward silence.
Han Dianla furrowed her small brows in confusion, tilting her head slightly as she asked,
“Matchmaking? What does that mean?”
Zhu Changxuan thought for a moment before explaining gently,
“It’s kind of like when two people like each other and feel the same way. Then they get married and stay together forever.”
The Succubus King and Ye Xili both silently disagreed. That explanation was quite far off from the truth.
Han Dianla nodded as if she understood. Then, she looked at Ye Xili with sincerity, held her hand tightly, and said,
“Then let’s do matchmaking. Let’s get married.”
To her, they both liked flowers and liked planting them. That meant they liked each other. So if they got married, they could plant flowers together all the time.
Ye Xili stared blankly. “What?”
Zhu Changxuan and Han Xuejin were both speechless.
The guests looked around in confusion, unsure if they had heard correctly.
The Succubus King looked at the Demon Supreme and then at the little girl. His mind instantly filled with a dramatic fantasy.
He imagined himself as the powerful father-in-law of the Demon Supreme’s daughter, respected throughout the Demon Realm. All the little demon lords would think twice before acting up in front of him. Even cultivators outside the Demon Realm would be cautious and respectful.
He quickly snapped out of his imagination, turned to Han Dianla with a smile, and said,
“I think the little princess makes a great point. You and Xili getting married sounds wonderful. Xili, quickly agree to her proposal.”
Ye Xili widened her fox-like eyes and stammered,
“What? I… she…”
Then she looked down and met the little alpha’s bright and hopeful eyes. Without thinking, she replied,
“Okay.”
The moment the word left her mouth, she realized what she had just said.
She had actually agreed?
Ye Xili was stunned. How did that happen?
But then she thought, if this meant she no longer had to meet anyone else for marriage, maybe it wasn’t so bad. If she really had to be paired off with one of those annoying brats, she would rather bang her head against a wall.
Zhu Changxuan quickly tried to stop things, her voice gentle but firm.
“Dianla is still young. She doesn’t understand what she’s saying.”
Han Dianla immediately spoke up in protest.
“Mother, I’m not a baby. I know what I’m saying. I want to marry this sister. How can you stop two people who like each other from being together?”
Tears began to form in her eyes. She had already been dragged here against her will, and now her mother would not even let her stay with the sister who liked planting flowers. How could she be so unfair?
The Succubus King looked at the tearful five-year-old who claimed not to be a child. He quickly nodded and said with false kindness,
“Yes, yes, you are absolutely right, little princess. Please don’t cry.”
Ye Xili blinked in silence.
Liked each other? When did that happen? How did she miss it?
Zhu Changxuan looked toward Han Xuejin for help, but Han Xuejin stayed quiet. Her face remained calm and cool, not reacting at all.
Zhu Changxuan could only sigh inwardly.
Baby, I hope you will not regret this later. Don’t blame your mama for not stopping you.
In the end, Zhu Changxuan and Han Xuejin brought their tearful daughter back to the Demon Realm. The Succubus King watched them leave with great sadness, acting as if he had just been forced to separate two soulmates.
After the commotion, he no longer entertained any marriage offers from other guests. His thoughts stayed on the little princess, and the birthday banquet quietly came to an end.
Ye Xili was more than happy with this outcome.
Later, the Succubus King told Ye Xili that she should visit the little princess at least once a month to build their relationship. He wanted her to marry the girl after she came of age and stop wasting time in the Succubus City.
Ye Xili couldn’t help but complain in her heart.
Was she being treated like a monthly cycle or something?
In the beginning, Ye Xili had been eager to run away from home and have some fun. Teasing the little princess was just an excuse.
But when the little alpha found out she did not actually like flowers or understand anything about them, she quickly lost interest and stopped talking to her.
Ye Xili, proud of her beauty and charm, could not accept being ignored like that.
So she began visiting more often, trying to win the girl’s attention again.
As time passed, she watched the little alpha grow up. She became taller, stronger, and more graceful. Eventually, Ye Xili realized she was falling in love.
Ye Xili now stared in frustration at Zhu Huabing, who showed no reaction at all to her charm techniques.
She was born with the bloodline of a succubus and a nine-tailed fox. Both clans were known for their seductive powers.
She had trained hard to master her charm spells, all so she could finally seduce Zhu Huabing. By now, her power should be strong enough to affect anyone with lower cultivation.
But Zhu Huabing didn’t flinch. She wasn’t even mildly distracted.
“Why doesn’t my charm spell work on you?”
Zhu Huabing gave her a calm smile and replied,
“With your current level, you really think you can seduce me? You still have a long way to go.”
Ye Xili gritted her teeth and stomped off to the pavilion, where she found the sweets Zhu Huabing had left.
When she saw her favorite dessert, osmanthus cake, her mood lifted a little.
Zhu Huabing gently touched the petals of a nearby flower.
She remembered something her mother once said.
“Ye Xili has the charm powers of both the succubus and fox clans. That’s a rare and powerful combination. Her cultivation is already higher than yours. Charm spells usually work easily on people with weaker power. Are you really unaffected?”
Zhu Huabing had answered without hesitation.
“I’m fine.”
She did wonder briefly what her mother meant by “double buff.”
Her mother added,
“And you spend all your time planting flowers instead of training. Your cultivation moves at the pace of a snail. You should make time to train properly.”
Zhu Huabing gave a soft response.
“Okay…”
Honestly, she didn’t think her progress was that bad. Compared to others, she was still considered a gifted cultivator.
But even when Ye Xili used powerful charm spells on her, she truly felt nothing.
Because of that, her mothers both turned a blind eye to Ye Xili’s frequent visits.
One day, while researching flower types in the Demon Realm’s library, Zhu Huabing stumbled upon a forbidden book about charm magic.
Out of curiosity, she flipped through the pages. Toward the end of the book, she found a message written as a final note.
It said:
“If your charm spell fails to affect someone whose cultivation is lower than yours, congratulations. You have found your true love. For someone who truly loves you, no amount of charm magic will work, because their heart already belongs to you.”
Zhu Huabing read the line again and again.
So that was the reason…
