Transmigrated Into a Scummy Alpha Who Stole the Male Lead's Mermaid Fiancée - Chapter 6
The breakfast ended on an unpleasant note. To avoid suspicion, Yu Ke deliberately took the opposite direction from Lan Xing when leaving, which forced her to make a detour through the rose garden.
As soon as the two left, Queen Jiao immediately vented her anger on those around her. She knocked over the tableware, splashed wine on a male servant, and continued her outburst until Jenny entered. Only then did Queen Jiao calm down, asking indignantly, “Do you know what that wretch said today?”
Wretch…? Was this how one referred to their own daughter?
Jenny’s sharp eyebrows were tightly furrowed. Standing tall and straight, she faced Queen Jiao’s rage head-on, her dark eyes unwavering and her lips pressed into a thin line. After a long silence, Jenny spoke, “She likes that princess.”
“I don’t care whether she likes her or not! She must find a way to win her over!” Queen Jiao stamped her feet repeatedly, making frantic gestures as she said impatiently, “You should have seen the expression on that mermaid slut’s face. I’ve already got her cornered!”
“Indeed,” Jenny replied, “this situation should not have occurred.”
“I really don’t know what the Princess is thinking!” Queen Jiao, having calmed down slightly, gritted her teeth and said, “The path was laid out for her. If her initial plan had succeeded, the Crown Prince would already be in prison by now.”
“She is destroying her own future,” Jenny said with an expressionless face.
“How can we allow her to do that?!” Queen Jiao fumed.
“Of course not. It must be you, Your Majesty the Queen, who stops her. The Princess no longer listens to me,” Jenny stated solemnly.
Queen Jiao pursed her lips, raised her head, and looked at Jenny, asking, “Are you certain the two of them were intimate last night?”
“Yes,” Jenny lowered her eyelids, thought for a moment, and said, “It should be…”
“Don’t say ‘should.’ I need a definite, certain, and affirmative answer!”
“But haven’t you already tricked it out of them?” Jenny looked at her and explained logically, “If they weren’t intimate and the Princess merely harassed Princess Lan Xing, then Princess Lan Xing would have no reason to panic. The fact that she was so flustered strongly suggests that, in a sober state, she willingly accepted… the Princess.”
At this point, Jenny unconsciously clenched her fist. Her eyes flickered slightly as she continued, “Last night, outside their room, I detected a strong scent of pheromones. It’s impossible that nothing happened between them.”
“Exactly. A’Ke’s pheromones are so potent. That mermaid in heat couldn’t possibly remain indifferent,” Queen Jiao pondered for a long time, a confident smile gradually curling at the corners of her lips. “So, it seems our A’Ke still has a chance…”
Jenny said, “As long as Your Majesty is willing to give her another opportunity.”
…
In the rose garden, Yu Ke encountered a male Omega.
The man was gleefully picking flowers, holding a bouquet of orange Juliet cut roses in his hand, humming a tune and unconsciously releasing the scent of his pheromones.
Not wanting to disturb his mood, Yu Ke turned to leave.
“Are you the Princess?” the male Omega asked in a sweet, high-pitched voice.
“Sorry, wrong way,” Yu Ke replied coldly without looking back, continuing on her way.
“Ah,” the male Omega, holding a bouquet, caught up like a puppy wagging its tail, looking at Yu Ke with sparkling eyes as he introduced himself eagerly. “You probably haven’t met me before. I’m Prince Ram from the Kingdom of Yado. I’ve heard about you, they say you’re a film director… Hehe, you’re not quite what I imagined!”
As he spoke, the scent of Ram’s pheromones grew even stronger, as if he were doing it on purpose.
Just how confident was he in his pheromones? After all, intentionally releasing pheromones in public could be considered sexual harassment, especially here in the palace.
Yu Ke wrinkled her nose in disgust.
After marking Lan Xing, any Omega’s pheromones felt pungent and unbearable to her.
Seeing her discomfort, Ram covered his face with his fingertips and chuckled, offering a self-satisfied explanation. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there’s anything bad about being a film director. It’s just that you and Yu Jie are completely different, you don’t look like siblings at all. You’re way cooler than him…”
Yu Ke stared at him for a moment before replying expressionlessly, “Could you please rein in your pheromones?”
“Oh, sorry,” Ram said, feigning shock with an exaggerated gesture. “I forgot the rules here. In our Kingdom of Yado, Omegas releasing pheromones is perfectly legal.”
As the Omega pheromones dissipated, Yu Ke felt somewhat relieved. Ram continued to pester her with conversation until they were spotted by a maid. The maid stared at Yu Ke with a strange, intense gaze for a long time, making Yu Ke feel extremely uncomfortable. She walked over and asked, “Is there something I can help you with?”
The maid threw the freshly picked flowers on the ground and stomped away angrily.
Yu Ke was baffled, while Ram grumbled, “That’s one of Lan Xing’s maids. She always has that sour look on her face. Who does she think she’s mad at?”
Yu Ke was taken aback. “That’s Lan Xing’s attendant?”
“Yes! Look at her haughty attitude. I really don’t get it, what makes aquatic creatures so much nobler than us?” Ram snorted. “Only Lan Xing seems elegant and dignified. Everyone around her acts the same way!”
Yu Ke wasn’t listening to him, her mind preoccupied with thoughts,
Why was that maid angry with her?
Did she know about her and Lan Xing?
She glanced back at Ram and thought,
Ram’s flamboyant attire was indeed eye-catching. Lan Xing’s maid might have misunderstood something.
At this realization, Yu Ke’s heart began to race. She no longer had the patience to deal with Ram, her mind filled only with thoughts of Lan Xing. Just to catch a glimpse of her, to exchange a single word with her…
With a quick “Excuse me,” Yu Ke quickened her pace, leaving Ram behind.
Emerging from the rose garden, Yu Ke followed the direction the maid had taken, arriving near the queen’s palace. She never found the maid but instead ran into Yu Jie.
Just as Ram had said, Yu Jie and Yu Ke bore no resemblance as siblings. Yu Jie was tall and broad-shouldered, dressed in gold and red court attire, his handsome face radiating a sunny smile. He seemed like the easygoing type.
Yu Ke gave off an overly cool and detached aura. Standing at 175cm tall, she wore light-heeled leather shoes and lilac-colored wide-leg pants. A golden phosphorescent long blazer accentuated her slender waist and long legs, paired with a silk-textured shirt that perfectly suited her cup size. Her entire demeanor exuded an air of chic asceticism, starkly contrasting with the palace’s opulence and extravagance.
“Hey, little sister,” Yu Jie greeted her with a smile. “What are you doing here?”
“Just taking a casual stroll,” Yu Ke replied, the corner of her lips curling slightly. Noticing that Yu Jie’s shirt buttons were misaligned, she reminded him, “If you’re heading to see the Queen, you’d better straighten your clothes.”
“No rush,” Yu Jie said. “I overslept this morning and am on my way to apologize to the Queen. If she sees my buttons askew, she might be a bit more understanding.”
Yu Ke fell silent. Yu Jie stepped closer, placing a hand on her shoulder with an affectionate smile. “By the way, little sister, how’s your movie idea coming along? When do you plan to start filming? Need your big brother’s help?”
“No need,” Yu Ke replied with a frown.
After their brief exchange, she turned to leave. Yu Jie murmured thoughtfully, “You’re not looking for Sang Jiu, are you?”
Yu Ke paused. “Who?”
“Sang Jiu, the maid by Lan Xing’s side,” Yu Jie said with a smile. “She passes by here every day to pick flowers in the rose garden.”
“…”
How did he even know that?
Yu Ke met Yu Jie’s gaze and, for some reason, sensed it was filled with jealousy and hostility.
Was he showing off how familiar he was with the people around Lan Xing?
It seemed Yu Jie wasn’t entirely without ulterior motives. He probably wished Yu Ke would leave the planet to avoid posing a threat to his claim to the throne.
Within royal families, genuine warmth was truly hard to come by.
Yu Ke blinked lightly, her expression calm and unreadable. “Oh, it must be her, then.”
“You don’t know her?” Yu Jie asked curiously.
“You’re the one handling the reception for Panda Planet’s people.” I know very few of them,” Yu Ke said casually. “I just saw her drop something, but she vanished in the blink of an eye.”
“I see,” Yu Jie studied her, pondering for a moment as if he completely believed her. He then turned and said, “Let’s go to Swan Lake this afternoon. It’s a place Lan Xing and the others often visit. You might run into them there.”
Yu Ke stood tall, her chest rising and falling slightly, struggling to conceal the wild excitement surging within her.
