Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha, Marked Intentionally by a Gentle Omega - Chapter 3
After completing her check-up, Hua Zhi came out sniffling with tears in her eyes.
Xie Shimian patted her head gently. “Let’s go home.”
Hua Zhi reached for the coat in Xie Shimian’s hands and draped it over herself.
The petite girl was wrapped in a long coat that nearly dragged on the floor, looking as if she had stolen an adult’s clothes.
“The physical examination report shows everything is normal,” the nurse said, handing a document to Xie Shimian with both hands. “There’s slight malnutrition, but the prescribed medication and supplements will be delivered to your residence this afternoon.”
Xie Shimian carefully reviewed the report, confirming that Hua Zhi was in good health.
The future formidable boss, who would one day dominate the scene and crush all obstacles, was now just a tiny girl who barely reached her shoulders.
Xie Shimian held Hua Zhi’s hand as they walked out of the hospital, where Ke Rong stood disapprovingly by the car door.
“Miss, Hua Zhi shouldn’t sleep in your room.”
Xie Shimian gave a slight nod, leaning leisurely against the soft seat. The posture would have seemed improper for anyone else, but she carried it with effortless grace.
Ke Rong pressed her lips into a tight line. “I can arrange a room for her in the annex.”
Someone of unknown origins shouldn’t be placed so close to the young miss.
Hua Zhi clutched the coat wrapped around her, infused with Xie Shimian’s pheromones.
Her cat-like eyes gazed pleadingly at Xie Shimian.
The kitten knew nothing, she just wanted to stick close to her owner.
Xie Shimian melted under that look.
She understood Ke Rong’s concerns were reasonable, but… her head ached. It felt like her love-struck brain was about to take over.
Pressing her middle finger against her throbbing temple, Xie Shimian said, “Ke Rong, I wasn’t asking for your opinion.”
Unable to defy Xie Shimian’s orders, Ke Rong sat in the driver’s seat with a fierce expression.
Xie Shimian sighed. “I have a headache.”
Ke Rong’s face instantly turned panicked. “Your headache is caused by pheromone imbalance. You need an injection,”
Or a temporary mark from a highly compatible Omega. Though Hua Zhi hadn’t presented yet, who knew?
Wait… Ke Rong seemed to realize something.
Xie Shimian knew that with smart people, she only needed to hint, they’d fill in the blanks themselves.
Ke Rong’s gaze at Hua Zhi flickered twice. “I understand. I’ll prepare the room across from yours immediately.”
Xie Shimian: ?
What exactly did you imagine?
Inside the luxurious floating island manor.
It took over ten minutes just to drive from the gate to the main estate.
Blood seeped from the wound on Xie Shimian’s arm as the private doctor cleaned it.
Hua Zhi whimpered like a kitten, murmuring, “Does it hurt, Miss?”
Hua Zhi’s eyes were mesmerizing a deep, starry blue like a Ragdoll cat’s, her skin porcelain-white, resembling the most delicate antique doll from the Middle Ages.
Her jet-black hair, untamed, cascaded messily over her slender shoulders and down her back.
“Miss, saliva can help with the pain.”
With that, the kitten extended a pink tongue, about to touch the wound.
The doctor recoiled in horror. “No!”
The kitten was promptly lifted by the scruff of her neck and set aside.
Hua Zhi let out a pitiful whimper.
But in the car, her savior had let her lick it…
The blood carried pheromones that smelled like her favorite spiced rum. Though she hadn’t presented yet, she was already helplessly drawn to Xie Shimian’s scent.
Gritting her teeth through the pain, Xie Shimian waited for the doctor to finish bandaging her. “I’m not in pain.”
Hua Zhi clearly didn’t believe her. “But there’s cold sweat on your forehead.”
Xie Shimian: “I’m just hot.”
As an Alpha, she couldn’t cry out in pain, damn that competitive pride.
The doctor glanced at the snowflakes swirling outside, “…”
The kitten shifted closer to Xie Shimian, carefully blowing on the edges of her wounds.
Back when her mother was still alive, whenever she was beaten and injured by the family, her mother would also blow on her wounds like this.
“Zhizhi.”
Xie Shimian called out softly, reminded of the Ragdoll cat at home that would even follow her to the bathroom.
Hearing Xie Shimian’s call, Hua Zhi immediately lifted her head.
Her sapphire-blue eyes mirrored the way a Ragdoll would respond to its owner’s voice.
Xie Shimian reached out to stroke her fluffy hair, slightly disappointed that it wasn’t as soft and fine as a Ragdoll’s.
Well, how could a person be the same as a cat?
“Go take a bath. I’ll find you some decent clothes.”
Xie Shimian changed into a water-red silk loungewear, slipped on her slippers, and nudged her into the bathroom.
“I don’t like dirty cats.”
Hua Zhi abruptly raised her head, she would definitely wash herself clean!
“If you don’t wash properly, don’t even think about getting close to me today.”
With a mischievous glint, Xie Shimian stood by the door. “Take off all your clothes.”
The slender girl trembled like an autumn leaf, her hands clutching tightly at Xie Shimian’s coat draped over her.
If she didn’t bathe, she couldn’t get close to her savior…
But she didn’t want to take off her clothes.
Hua Zhi wrestled with herself for half a minute before hesitantly undoing the first button…
Her snow-white skin had already flushed with embarrassment.
The steamy heat blurred her vision as the girl’s shell-like, pristine toes curled nervously against the white tiles.
A droplet of water trailed from the nape of her neck, over her delicate shoulder blades, past the dip of her waist, tracing a glistening line down her body.
A girl’s form was God’s finest creation.
Xie Shimian coughed dryly into her hand and slammed the bathroom door shut.
The rounded shoulders, the long, straight legs, the body too slender from malnutrition.
She knew she shouldn’t be shamelessly eyeing the future big boss, but…
Ke Rong brought out some of the young miss’s old clothes. “Are you running a fever?”
Xie Shimian murmured dreamily, “Human preferences are free, but mine might require a doctor.”
Ke Rong didn’t catch it. “What doctor?”
Xie Shimian muttered, “Never mind. Just pick me a pretty little box later.”
Inside the bathroom,
Hua Zhi silently submerged herself in the foam-filled bathtub.
Her savior liked her body, but had only looked for a few seconds.
Was she not pretty enough?
Back in the family, as an illegitimate child, she had suffered endless humiliation from her legitimate siblings. They called her a born seductress, fit only for luring others.
They had insulted her in every way possible, but not one had ever called her ugly.
Did she not suit her savior’s taste?
Then why had she been brought home…?
The way her savior looked at her was like she was a pet cat.
Hua Zhi dunked her entire body underwater, holding her breath until her face turned red, then suddenly emerged, covering her face with her hands and letting out a tiny sound.
Meow.
The girl meticulously scrubbed herself clean, inside and out.
Wrapped in a white towel, she stepped out to find a set of clothes laid out on the table.
The fabric carried a faint scent of fruity rum, Xie Shimian’s pheromones.
They were clothes Xie Shimian had worn before.
The girl clumsily draped the qipao, a garment strikingly similar to those from a thousand years ago over herself. In this interstellar era, people’s attire had increasingly prioritized efficiency, leaving little room for impractical, ornate clothing. Only families with millennia-old legacies still wore these cumbersome skirts and form-fitting dresses that restricted movement.
Xie Shimian: “Does it fit?”
The girl took small steps toward Xie Shimian, her cheeks flushed pink from the steam.
Zhizhi was a Western antique doll dressed in a qipao.
Xie Shimian’s preferences were immensely satisfied. Before Ke Rong brought the outfit over, she hadn’t realized the Xie family had a tradition of wearing qipaos.
The tailored structure of the qipao accentuated the girl’s delicate curves.
Zhizhi stood shyly before her like a sheltered young lady who had never stepped outside the inner chambers.
Xie Shimian’s fingers traced the curve of her waist, and the little kitten let out a soft whimper.
Was her savior finally going to touch her?
So her savior liked this type.
“Miss, we’ve obtained the confession of the assailant who attacked you today,” a sternly dressed beta said from the doorway. “Tests show traces of biological toxins in your wounds. An antidote has already been developed.”
The beta held a thick stack of documents. “Please review them.”
Xie Shimian withdrew her hand from petting the kitten. “I know.”
She cradled the kitten in her arms, whispering soothingly into Hua Zhi’s ear, “Be good, Zhizhi. If you’re tired, go wait for me in the room.”
Warm breath brushed against Hua Zhi’s earlobe.
In Xie Shimian’s eyes, she saw a smoldering fire.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you, Miss.”
Hua Zhi’s throat tightened as she nearly let out a mewl. But before she could mentally prepare herself, Xie Shimian had already left.
A stray kitten, newly brought into an unfamiliar environment, would naturally experience stress and needed its owner’s comfort.
The lingering warmth of Xie Shimian’s touch still burned at her waist.
Hua Zhi traced the spot where Xie Shimian had touched her. If they were in bed, Xie Shimian would surely be a gentle lover.
Or not gentle, that was fine too.
Her body was resilient, able to endure much.
“Who’s that? Standing there like a wooden post at the staircase.”
“Seems like someone the young miss brought in from outside.”
“The young miss is too soft-hearted, bringing home every stray cat and dog. Doesn’t she worry about diseases?”
A maid whispered a reminder, “It was the madam and master’s idea.”
Another rolled her eyes. “The madam and master said to finalize the adoption by the end of the month. Who told her to bring the girl home the same day? She must have seduced our young miss on purpose.”
Hua Zhi overheard the maids’ scornful remarks nearby and shot them a cold glare.
One of them held the coat Xie Shimian had draped over her, preparing to take it for cleaning.
“What are you looking at? No manners at all. Just because you’ve stepped into the Xie household, you think you’re the mistress now?”
In the Empire, the higher the social class, the stricter the hierarchy.
The maid cursed under her breath, calling Hua Zhi a bumpkin from a backwater planet. “You’re not here to live in luxury. Go sweep the snow outside.”
Sweeping the snow was originally the maid’s job, but she figured Xie Shimian wouldn’t care much for some country girl.
Being adopted into the Xie family was already an immense stroke of luck for Hua Zhi.
Caught off guard, Hua Zhi was shoved outside, clad in a dazzling red qipao but holding a rough broom in her hands.
In a galaxy where technology had advanced to its zenith, what she held in her hand was the most primitive broom made from dried tree branches.
Her small hands soon turned red and purple from the cold.
Not far away stood a greenhouse filled with roses, the wind and snow outside stinging her face.
Hua Zhi gripped the broom tightly. This kind of humiliation was nothing compared to her past life, but humans are greedy by nature.
Having once tasted Xie Shimian’s tenderness, she could no longer bear to live any kind of humble existence.
Inside the greenhouse, Xie Shimian was murmuring to her beta subordinate, idly crushing rose petals between her fingers.
Suddenly, the glass wall of the greenhouse was tapped.
The moment the door opened, her stray kitten threw herself into her arms.
Caught off guard, Xie Shimian found herself holding a small, soft, and ice-cold girl. “Come in quickly, you’re so clingy.”
Even the beta was startled by the girl’s audacious move, silently marveling at Xie Shimian’s indulgence toward her.
Hua Zhi sniffled, her voice trembling. “The maid called me a shameless seductress and chased me out. Did I do something to upset you, Miss?”
Tears welled up in the girl’s sapphire-blue eyes as she clutched the dirty broom, her face etched with sorrow and disbelief.
Xie Shimian tucked the crushed rose into Hua Zhi’s hair, as if catching a faint whiff of tea amidst the rose’s fragrance.
“Drive out those gossips. Make sure they never appear in Zhizhi’s sight again,” Xie Shimian ordered the beta.
A triumphant smile curled at the corners of Hua Zhi’s lips.
Her savior truly cared for her.
