Transmigrated Into A Scumbag Alpha Who Only Wants To Cuddle With Cat Omega - Chapter 15
An Yuanruan?
The smile in Song Ran’s eyes faded, her expression turning serious.
She remembered that in the original book, the Female Lead studied dance in university and joined Jincheng’s best dance troupe as their principal dancer right after graduation. Though she had danced her way to the end, she was certain the original Female Lead never entered the entertainment industry.
But now… Had something gone wrong somewhere?
Or was the original plot changing because of her arrival?
If it really was changing… then… then what about Sang Wu?
“Song Ran, are you still there?” The agent’s voice on the phone brought Song Ran back to reality. She lowered her gaze and replied softly, “Yes, I’m here.”
“Oh, good,” the agent sighed in relief. “This is your first role since entering the industry, and it could have a big impact on your future. And since Ms. An is a newcomer, do you need more time to think about it?”
The soft, mewing cries of a kitten drifted from the living room. Song Ran’s mind flashed back to Sang Wu’s drunken appearance earlier.
Tucking stray strands of hair behind her ear, she said warmly, “Mm, I’ll give you an answer tonight.”
“No rush. Any time is fine,” the agent chuckled. “Just let me know by the end of the week.”
“Alright, thanks for your hard work.”
After exchanging goodbyes, she hung up the phone and headed toward the living room. Little Flower leaped from the edge of the sofa and nestled comfortably in Sang Wu’s arms, gently nuzzling and even licking the back of her hand.
Noticing Song Ran’s approach, the kitten buried its head deeper into Sang Wu’s embrace, turning its back to her in a clear sign of displeasure.
Song Ran smiled faintly and sat down on the sofa. “Little Flower doesn’t seem to like me very much.”
Sang Wu’s expression remained neutral. “It might just be shy around strangers.”
“That’s alright,” Song Ran said, her words carrying an unspoken meaning. “It’ll grow more familiar with time.”
Sang Wu fell silent, simply gazing at the kitten in her arms. Their eyes met, and Little Flower first cooed affectionately at Sang Wu before placing its paw on her wrist and tilting its head to lick her cheek.
Just as it was about to reach its goal, a surprisingly strong hand grasped the back of its neck, lifting it into the air. The kitten yowled fiercely at its captor.
Song Ran cradled the kitten in her arms. While Sang Wu was still dazed, she murmured almost inaudibly, “You can’t.”
Meow! Little Flower swiped at her with its claws, but before it could reach her, she had completely enveloped its paw. Song Ran looked up at Sang Wu, complaining, “You saw that? It scratched me without me even touching it!”
“It…” Sang Wu frowned, unsure how to respond.
“Sang Wu,” Song Ran suddenly called out.
Sang Wu looked up, puzzled.
“Can you help me with something?”
“What is it?”
Song Ran stood up, put the kitten back in its bed, then sat down beside Sang Wu and said earnestly, “I have a few really good scripts I like, but they all have overlapping production schedules, so I can only choose one. I’ve been agonizing over it all day and can’t decide. Can you help this indecisive mess?”
Ever since she’d heard that the other lead in Xu Ning had been cast as An Yuanruan, she’d been genuinely hesitant.
Her hesitation wasn’t because An Yuanruan was a newcomer, but because the original plot of the book had changed. Choosing this drama meant she would have more interactions with the Female Lead. Moreover, this romantic movie contained numerous intimate scenes. The entertainment industry has always been quick to gossip, and the original character had once bitterly admitted to Sang Wu how much she loved the Female Lead and how determined she was to win her over. She worried this would lead to misunderstandings for Sang Wu.
Good scripts are indeed hard to come by, but as a married person, ensuring her partner feels secure is equally important.
If these two priorities clashed, she would without hesitation choose Sang Wu—and only Sang Wu.
Yet she was undeniably selfish, unwilling to let these opportunities be a one-person show.
The warmth in her arms vanished, and Sang Wu glanced anxiously at the cat’s nest.
Little Flower lay sulking on the cotton bedding, her orange tail tip occasionally twitching.
She said calmly, “I’m an outsider to the industry.”
“Hmm?”
“Someone from outside the industry might not be able to give you much advice.”
Song Ran smiled faintly, leaning back into the cushions, relaxed and comfortable. She deliberately slowed her words, each one lingering like the notes of an elegant viola filling the living room. “But you are my wife.”
The music in her voice made Sang Wu’s ears burn for some reason. Her curled eyelashes trembled like the wings of a butterfly, and a misty haze clouded her bright eyes. Her usually loose black hair was now tied back in a ponytail, leaving her expression completely exposed to Song Ran’s gaze.
Sang Wu didn’t protest, her porcelain cheeks flushing pink. After a long pause, as the lingering melody faded, she feigned coolness. “Which ones are they?”
A smile danced in the corners of Song Ran’s eyes as she picked up the tablet from the table, handed it over, and said, “There are five in total. I think they’re all good.”
Sang Wu took the tablet and began reading intently, so absorbed that she almost bit her lip several times due to the plot developments, only stopping because she felt Song Ran’s gaze on her.
Time passed slowly. The tabby cat in its corner bed had already fallen asleep.
After an certain amount of time, Sang Wu finally looked up from the tablet. “I think The Other Woman and Xu Ning are both excellent.”
“What do you mean?” Song Ran asked with a smile.
Sang Wu, rarely so serious, analyzed the situation carefully. “The two scripts are different. The Other Woman, as a suspense film, has solid plot logic and well-developed characters. Xu Ning, while not as gripping in its romance plot, presents more fully realized characters. Moreover, its ending aligns perfectly with its title and theme.”
Hearing this, the amusement in Song Ran’s eyes nearly overflowed.
She hadn’t expected her little kitten to agree with her so completely.
“So, which one do you think I should choose?”
“It’s up to you,” Sang Wu replied.
“Sang Wu.”
“Hmm?”
Her palm itched, wanting to stroke her little kitten’s head again. “Do you think it’s appropriate for a married woman like me to take on a script this… daring?”
Sang Wu paused, then quickly regained her composure. “That’s your decision to make.”
“Then…” Song Ran grabbed the tablet, turning off the notifications that kept popping up. She turned to Sang Wu with a mischievous grin. “What if the other lead in Xu Ning was An Yuanruan? Would that be appropriate?”
