Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 89
When the baby was just over eight months old, she developed a love for crawling all over the place. Worried she wouldn’t get enough space to enjoy herself, Shen Xian and the others would place her on the big bed to let her explore freely.
The little one was bursting with energy, kicking her short little legs as she scurried around. Every time she got too close to the edge, Shen Xian would pick her up and move her back to the center. Each time, the baby would pout and blow bubbles at Shen Xian in protest, and Lin Qinghan would be right there to wipe her mouth.
Shen Xian poked the baby’s chubby cheek and chuckled, “You only bully your mommy. Why don’t I ever see you throwing a tantrum at Mama or your sister?”
The baby didn’t understand a word of what Shen Xian was saying. She simply blinked her big round eyes and tilted her little head curiously at Shen Xian. When she realized Shen Xian had stopped talking, she spun around on the bed, stuck her little butt up in the air, and pointed it straight at her.
Shen Xian laughed and gave her a gentle pat, which only made the baby more annoyed—she promptly turned her head and blew more bubbles at her.
“Alright, alright. You win,” Shen Xian said, amused. “You’re the boss. I can’t handle you.”
Tiantian leaned against Shen Xian, pointing at the baby and giggling. “Mommy, my little sister is so much fun!”
“She is,” Shen Xian agreed with a smile.
By now, the baby could recognize people, though she still couldn’t talk. She babbled endlessly, her tiny mouth never quite stopping.
After tiring herself out from sticking her butt in the air, she resumed crawling across the bed. Her favorite person was still Lin Qinghan, and she happily made her way over to her. Once she reached her, she tilted her head and beamed a wide smile.
Lin Qinghan picked her up with a laugh. The baby flailed her tiny arms in glee while nestled in her mama’s arms, still blowing bubbles at Shen Xian from afar.
Shen Xian wiped her mouth with a chuckle. “Fine, fine. I admit defeat. You’re clearly the queen of this house.”
The baby didn’t understand her words but giggled nonstop anyway.
That morning, after Shen Xian dropped Tiantian off at kindergarten, Fang Jinglan stayed at home to help Lin Qinghan take care of the baby.
During class, the kindergarten teacher asked the kids to draw pictures. Tiantian had a row of colorful markers laid out on her desk and decided she wanted to draw her little sister. But no matter how she tried, she couldn’t draw a round head. She kept erasing and redrawing, sighing with each attempt.
Lu Ningwan, sitting nearby, had noticed her frustration and asked, “What’s wrong, Tiantian?”
Tiantian looked at her with wide eyes. “Sister Lu, I want to draw my little sister, but I can’t draw her head properly.”
“I’ll help you,” Lu Ningwan offered. After spending some time together at school, the two had grown quite close.
Tiantian beamed and giggled in her soft, sweet voice. “Thank you, Sister Lu~”
Lu Ningwan took Tiantian’s drawing and carefully sketched a nice, round head for her.
“Wow, you’re amazing!” Tiantian exclaimed.
She continued drawing the baby’s eyes and nose while talking excitedly. “Sister Lu, my little sister is so cute! She blows bubbles at Mommy and crawls around on the bed to play with me. Do you want to come to my house and see her?”
Lu Ningwan was caught off guard by her hopeful gaze. She couldn’t bring herself to say no. After a moment’s thought, she said, “Sure. But you have to ask your mommies first. Then my mom can drive me over.”
Tiantian nodded enthusiastically, her little pigtails bouncing. “Okay! Mommy and Mama will be so happy to have you over. I’ll tell them when I get home.”
“Alright.” Lu Ningwan smiled. She was genuinely curious to meet the little sister Tiantian always talked about.
That evening, after dinner, Tiantian ran over and started massaging Lin Qinghan’s legs.
While massaging, she looked up and asked sweetly, “Mama, is this comfortable?”
Lin Qinghan ruffled her hair with a smile. “Very. What are you up to now? Want something yummy again?”
Tiantian shook her head quickly, her little pigtails swinging. “No, Mama. Sister Lu wants to come meet my little sister. Can she come play at our house?”
Lin Qinghan smiled knowingly and poked Tiantian’s cheek. “No wonder you’re being extra sweet today—it’s for your Sister Lu.”
Seeing that her mommy hadn’t agreed yet, Tiantian hugged Lin Qinghan’s leg and begged. “Please, Mama? I’ll give you a massage!”
Lin Qinghan picked her up and placed her on her lap. “Alright, alright. Since you’re asking so nicely, yes. After school tomorrow, your Mommy can pick up both of you and bring her home. Sound good?”
“Thank you, Mama! You’re the best!” Tiantian said with a grin.
Shen Xian, watching from the side, teased, “Wow, Tiantian, you’re already inviting girls home? I never had your moves when I was little.”
Tiantian didn’t catch the hidden meaning. She just nodded happily. “Sister Lu is coming to see the baby!”
Lin Qinghan shot Shen Xian a glare. “Watch your mouth. Regretting your single days now?”
Shen Xian quickly backtracked, “No regrets. Being single was fine… until I met you.”
“Better,” Lin Qinghan muttered, giving her a few pointed looks.
Tiantian had no idea what they were talking about. She was just thrilled her little plan worked.
The next day at kindergarten, Tiantian couldn’t wait to find Lu Ningwan. “Sister Lu! Mommy’s picking us up today to go see the baby. She said you just have to tell your family.”
Lu Ningwan nodded like a little grown-up. She had already told her parents the night before. They were happy she was making friends and readily agreed.
After school, Tiantian stood beside Lu Ningwan, eagerly waiting for Shen Xian.
She glanced at Lu Ningwan’s hand, then reached out and asked, “Can we hold hands?”
Lu Ningwan wasn’t fond of physical contact and didn’t have many close friends. But looking at Tiantian’s hopeful little eyes, she nodded.
Tiantian’s face lit up. She grabbed Lu Ningwan’s hand tightly, overjoyed.
When Shen Xian arrived, she saw the two girls holding hands, chatting happily. She couldn’t help but smile. Tiantian really had a way with girls—much better than she herself had been at that age.
As soon as she saw her, Tiantian ran over with Lu Ningwan in tow. “Mommy! We’re here!”
“I see you,” Shen Xian replied with a smile.
Lu Ningwan greeted her politely. “Hello, Auntie. I’m Lu Ningwan, Tiantian’s friend. Thank you for taking me to see her baby sister.”
Though only five years old, her manners and way of speaking were impeccable.
Shen Xian crouched down to her level and smiled. “It’s no trouble at all. Let’s head home.”
She took each girl by the hand and settled them into the back seat.
At home, as soon as the door opened, Lin Qinghan welcomed them. “Welcome, Little Lu! Come in.”
Fang Jinglan smiled and asked, “Tiantian, who’s this?”
“She’s Sister Lu! My best friend~” Tiantian said in her sweet voice.
“How lovely. Grandma made something delicious—make sure you eat lots later,” Fang Jinglan said warmly.
“Thank you, Auntie. Thank you, Grandma. We’re here to visit the baby,” Lu Ningwan said politely.
“Alright, let’s take off our coats and wash our hands first. Then we’ll go see the baby,” Shen Xian said, leading them to the bathroom.
She pulled over little stools for them to stand on. The two girls obediently squirted hand soap and began scrubbing.
Tiantian told her, “Sister Lu, you have to scrub well to get really clean!”
Lu Ningwan nodded seriously.
Shen Xian chuckled at their exchange. After they were done, she brought them into the room and carried the baby from the crib to the big bed. The baby was instantly delighted by the extra space.
She rolled around a few times before crawling straight toward Lu Ningwan. Once face to face, she tilted her head and babbled in baby language, “Awoo, yaya, yaya!”
Lin Qinghan smiled. “That’s Sister Lu—your sister’s good friend. She came to visit you. Are you happy?”
The baby stared at Lu Ningwan, then started blowing a string of bubbles at her.
Shen Xian wiped her mouth with a laugh. “Hey, don’t blow bubbles at your new friend!”
The baby didn’t understand but giggled nonstop and rolled around the bed again.
Shen Xian picked her up and held her in front of Lu Ningwan. “Let Sister Lu hold your little hand, okay?”
The baby smiled back at her mommy and waved her tiny hands. Lu Ningwan curiously reached out and touched them—they were soft and squishy.
“Her hands are so soft!” she said.
Tiantian chimed in, “Yep, they’re super fun to play with!”
The baby climbed onto Lu Ningwan’s lap, tilted her head to observe her, then made herself comfortable and sat down.
Shen Xian laughed, “Well, she certainly knows how to pick a good seat.”
Everyone was amused by the baby’s antics. Even Lu Ningwan couldn’t help laughing—until she suddenly felt something wet on her leg.
She looked up at Shen Xian, eyes slightly panicked. “Auntie… I think the baby peed.”
“Oh no, let me see.” Shen Xian quickly picked the baby up and saw that Lu Ningwan’s pants were soaked.
Though mature for her age, Lu Ningwan was still a five-year-old. Her eyes began to water.
Tiantian rushed over to comfort her. “It’s okay, Sister Lu. You can wear my clothes!”
Shen Xian handed the baby to Lin Qinghan, who, along with Fang Jinglan, cleaned her up and changed her diaper.
Meanwhile, Shen Xian gently picked up Lu Ningwan and soothed her. “Auntie apologizes on the baby’s behalf. She doesn’t know how to use the toilet yet. Come on, let’s clean you up. Don’t be upset, okay?”
Lu Ningwan nodded tearfully.
Shen Xian helped her out of her pants, wiped her legs with a warm towel, and brought out a new pair of pants Tiantian had never worn. Fortunately, Tiantian had grown tall, and the pants fit Lu Ningwan perfectly.
She ruffled her hair. “Such a good girl. I’ll wash your pants and return them at school, alright?”
“Okay. Thank you, Auntie,” Lu Ningwan replied politely.
Afterward, Shen Xian brought her to Tiantian’s room, where she served them a big plate of fruit yogurt salad and reminded her daughter, “Tiantian, be a good host and play nicely with Sister Lu.”
“I will!” Tiantian nodded enthusiastically, then grabbed Lu Ningwan’s hand and eagerly showed her all her toys.
Shen Xian left the kids to their fun and went to help Lin Qinghan prepare dinner.
The baby had played to exhaustion and was now napping soundly.
Dinner was full of delicious dishes for the kids—shrimp stir-fried with nuts, fish ball winter melon soup, and more. The girls ate heartily. Afterward, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan cleaned up and checked in on them.
They found the two girls sitting on the floor, working together on a puzzle. They had already completed a good portion and were chatting away.
Seeing how well they were getting along, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan quietly left them to play.
Around 8 PM, Lu Ningwan’s father, Lu Cheng, arrived to pick her up. Tiantian was reluctant to say goodbye.
Lu Cheng stood at the door, holding his daughter’s hand. “Thank you so much for taking care of Ningwan tonight.”
Shen Xian smiled. “Not at all. She’s a sweet girl. Sorry about the pants, though—the baby had a little accident. I’ll send them back once they’re dry.”
“Thank you, Auntie,” Lu Ningwan said sweetly.
“Say goodbye now,” Lu Cheng reminded her.
Lu Ningwan waved her little hand. “Goodbye, Grandma, Aunties, and Tiantian!”
Tiantian waved back obediently. “Bye, Sister Lu. Bye, Uncle!”
After a few parting words, Lu Cheng and his daughter left.
As soon as the door closed, Tiantian ran off to the baby’s room. The baby had just woken up from her nap and was full of energy again, playing with Fang Jinglan in her crib.
Tiantian hugged Shen Xian’s leg. “I want to see the baby!”
Shen Xian picked her up and placed the baby on the big bed again. The baby’s eyes lit up at the sight of the big open space and began crawling happily.
Tiantian crawled over to block her path. The baby looked up, displeased, and started flailing her arms and blowing bubbles again.
Tiantian said solemnly, “Nannan, you’re not allowed to bully Sister Lu again, okay? Or I’ll get mad! I won’t play with you anymore!”
The baby didn’t understand a word but snuggled against Tiantian’s arm and kept blowing bubbles like a little dragon, nonstop.
Shen Xian and the others burst into laughter at Tiantian’s serious expression, while Lin Qinghan wiped the baby’s mouth with a towel.
Shen Xian chuckled, “Don’t worry, Tiantian. I’m sure Nannan remembers. She won’t do it again.”
Tiantian nodded seriously. “Babies are really hard work…”
