Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 85
When Shen Xian was preparing for the wedding, she didn’t invite too many unrelated people. She only sent invitations to close relatives and friends.
Among them, Jiang Xi was the most excited. That evening, as soon as Mu Siyu came home, Jiang Xi couldn’t wait to tell her the news. “Mu-jiejie, Shen-jiejie is getting married!”
Mu Siyu chuckled and wrapped an arm around Jiang Xi’s waist. “Why are you so envious of someone else’s wedding?”
Jiang Xi snuggled against Mu Siyu’s shoulder. “I’m just happy for them. They finally found their way back to each other.”
Mu Siyu kissed her forehead. “Well, you don’t have to be envious. We can do that too. Once we have some downtime, it’s time we seriously talk about our future.”
Jiang Xi grinned. “What future?”
“Don’t play dumb, Xiao Xi. I mean marriage. I won’t feel at ease until I officially make you Mrs. Mu,” Mu Siyu teased.
The day before the wedding, the relatives came over to help Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan decorate the newlywed room. Tiantian, excited by the crowd, bounced over and jumped into Shen Xian’s arms. “Mommy, what’s happening?”
Shen Xian pinched her little face and smiled. “Mommy and Mama are getting married! Tomorrow you get to be our flower girl, okay?”
Tiantian nodded eagerly. “Okay~”
The grownups were busy with balloons and streamers, laughing and chatting as they worked. Fang Jinglan and Shen Wenkang beamed with joy the entire time.
Shen Xian’s third aunt, Fang Jingping, pulled Fang Jinglan aside with a smile. “Second Sister, your good fortune is just beginning. Second Brother’s health is better, Shen Xian is doing well, and now she’s marrying Qinghan. You’ve got many good days ahead.”
“Yes, may our whole family continue to be blessed and smooth sailing,” someone chimed in.
After a busy morning, everyone stayed to have lunch together. Shen Xian and Third Uncle Zhao Jianye cooked together. Since his hip replacement surgery, he’d recovered enough to walk steadily, and he had even quit drinking for good.
There were too many people to fit at one table, so they split into two—one in the dining room and one in the living room.
Tiantian was led away by Fang Jinglan to sit with the elders, while Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan sat with the younger generation. Lin Qinghan hadn’t been feeling much better lately—still suffering from nausea.
Shen Xian, sitting beside her, immediately noticed she wasn’t eating much.
Zhao Xiaoyan, noticing as well, asked, “Qinghan-jie, why are you eating so little?”
Shen Xian smiled. “She hasn’t had much appetite these days. You all eat up.”
Then she leaned toward Lin Qinghan and whispered, “Do you want to rest a bit in the room?”
Lin Qinghan shook her head. “I’m fine. It’s nothing serious. I’d rather stay and be with everyone. You eat too.”
“Alright, but let me know if you feel unwell,” Shen Xian said gently.
Zhao Xiaoyan giggled. “Sis, are you two feeding us dog food on purpose? The rest of us are all single, you know.”
Shen Xian laughed. “It’s not like that. Qinghan is pregnant. She’s just been feeling unwell lately.”
“Wait, Qinghan-jie is pregnant? You never said anything! Congratulations!” said Li Mingyu, Shen Xian’s cousin who had returned from working on a project.
“It’s not too late to find out now.” Shen Xian smiled and pulled Lin Qinghan close.
Fang Yan, another cousin, called out to the other table. “Second Aunt, Sis and Qinghan-jie are having a baby! Why didn’t you tell us?”
Fang Jinglan froze in surprise. It was true they’d been so busy lately that they’d forgotten to mention the pregnancy. She quickly walked into the living room. “Shen Xian, is it true?”
Shen Xian nodded with a smile.
Fang Jinglan clapped her thighs anxiously. “Why didn’t you tell me something so important? I would’ve made some nourishing soups for Qinghan.”
Lin Qinghan smiled. “Mom, it’s really not necessary. Everything’s going fine. Come, let’s eat.”
Fang Jingping laughed. “Double happiness, Second Sister! A wedding and a baby—couldn’t be more perfect.”
The whole family was overjoyed. Shen Xian felt a deep warmth in her heart—something she had never experienced in her previous life, no matter how wealthy she had become. If she hadn’t overworked herself last lifetime, she wouldn’t have ended up with this family she now cherished.
The house was lively all day, and by evening the decorations were complete. Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan decided to sleep in Tiantian’s room that night. Tiantian had been playing all day and fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.
Shen Xian amusedly brushed Tiantian’s long lashes. Tiantian scrunched her little nose, displeased. Shen Xian quickly stopped and whispered, “Tiantian looks so cute when she’s asleep.” She took a photo of Tiantian’s pouty sleep face.
Lin Qinghan, catching her in the act, gave her a gentle pat. “Don’t bully Tiantian. What are you up to now?”
Shen Xian lay in the middle, with Lin Qinghan on the outer side. Leaning close to Shen Xian’s shoulder, she watched as Shen Xian edited the photo, adding the caption: “Let’s sleep sweetly tonight~”
Lin Qinghan chuckled and kissed the corner of Shen Xian’s lips. “Send it to me. It’s adorable.”
Shen Xian pulled Lin Qinghan into her arms. “Didn’t you say not to bully Tiantian? Then why don’t you bully me instead?”
Lin Qinghan poked her cheek with a grin. “You’re so shameless.”
Even as she teased, her lips brushed against Shen Xian’s for a gentle kiss. Because their daughter was right beside them, Lin Qinghan blushed deeply, though she didn’t stop. Shen Xian held her tightly, kissing her for a long while until both of them were breathless.
“Qinghan,” Shen Xian asked softly, nibbling her ear, “How much longer until we can… you know?”
Lin Qinghan trailed her finger down Shen Xian’s neck. “What are you thinking? At least three or four months. We have to wait until the baby is stable.”
“Okay,” Shen Xian replied, stealing two more kisses before letting go.
Since they had to wake early the next morning, both soon drifted off to sleep.
Around 4 a.m., they got up to prepare. After freshening up and having some light breakfast, it was just past 5 a.m. when their relatives began arriving.
The photographers and makeup artists also arrived on time. Fang Jinglan and the others went to wake Tiantian, while the makeup artists started on Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan.
After makeup, they changed into their custom-made wedding gowns—Shen Xian in red, and Lin Qinghan in matching white. Standing side by side, they looked perfect together.
Tiantian, freshly awakened and groggy, was stunned when she saw them. “Mommy! Mama! You look so pretty!”
Shen Xian stroked her cheek. “You’ll look beautiful too, Tiantian. Go wash up with Grandma, okay?”
“Okay~” Tiantian rubbed her eyes and obediently followed.
Soon, she returned dressed in a red princess dress. She was so happy she ran around the room.
Since Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan already lived together, there was no need for a traditional bridal pickup. They simply followed local customs and finished the formalities.
By noon, the whole wedding party moved to the hotel. Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan stood at the entrance, greeting guests. Shen Xian worried about Lin Qinghan getting tired and gently massaged her waist.
“Qinghan, are you okay?”
Lin Qinghan smiled. “A little tired, but since it’s our wedding, it doesn’t feel tiring at all.”
“Okay. I’ll give you a good leg massage tonight. Pregnant women are prone to swelling—must be exhausting.”
“Then thank you in advance, Mrs. Lin,” she replied playfully.
The emcee, hired by Jiang Xi, was lively and engaging. “Alright, now let’s welcome the happy couple as they walk down the flower path!”
Tiantian, holding a bouquet, led the way with a beaming smile. Lin Qinghan followed, arm in arm with Shen Xian. Tiantian wasn’t shy at all and trotted along happily.
When the couple reached the stage, the emcee grinned, “Congratulations to our newlyweds! Don’t they make a perfect match?”
The audience cheered, “Perfect match!”
“Now, let’s exchange rings.”
Shen Xian carefully slipped the diamond ring onto Lin Qinghan’s finger. “Mrs. Shen, your turn.”
Lin Qinghan smiled and returned the gesture.
Shen Xian pulled her into a warm embrace as the crowd began chanting, “Kiss! Kiss!”
Fang Jinglan quickly took Tiantian away and covered her eyes.
Tiantian, confused, thought, Why can’t I watch again?
Shen Xian leaned in and kissed Lin Qinghan deeply. For a long moment, their world was only each other.
When it came time to toss the bouquet, Mu Siyu caught it.
Shen Xian laughed. “President Mu, looks like your wedding is just around the corner too, huh?”
Mu Siyu glanced at Jiang Xi with a smile. “Definitely. After all, we’ve caught some of your good fortune today.”
