Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 82
Jiang Xi had been thoroughly teased by Mu Siyu all night, and when she woke up the next morning, the blush at the corners of her eyes still hadn’t faded. She sent a Feixin message to Shen Xian to complain—a sweet sticker with a grumble that her Mu-jiejie had bullied her all night and her legs were still wobbly.
Shen Xian was amused the moment she saw Jiang Xi’s message and couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile. Jiang Xi was clearly completely wrapped around her Mu-jiejie’s little finger.
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan had scheduled their wedding at the end of the month. It conveniently fell on a weekend, making it easier for everyone to gather. Their custom wedding dresses had already arrived, and they planned to get their marriage certificate first.
On the afternoon they went to the Civil Affairs Bureau, Lin Qinghan took half a day off. As they arrived, a wave of déjà vu washed over her. She recalled the day, years ago, when she and Shen Xian came here to finalize their divorce. Back then, she had long since given up on love—perhaps even on life itself. All she had in mind was raising her daughter well.
For years, she juggled work and childcare while fending off her mother, brother, and ex-wife, who would pop in now and then asking for money. It had felt like being stuck in a swamp, and she had sworn never to marry again. She never imagined she’d one day be moved by someone who always put her and her daughter first.
Shen Xian held her hand, smiling. “Qinghan, it’s our turn. What are you daydreaming about?”
Lin Qinghan gently squeezed Shen Xian’s hand. “Nothing. It just feels a little surreal. I never thought I’d get married again.”
Shen Xian chuckled softly. “I never thought I’d fall in love with anyone else either. Took me two lifetimes just to find you, Qinghan.”
Lin Qinghan playfully pinched Shen Xian’s fingertips. “No being sappy.”
“Can’t I be sappy with my own wife? You’re so fierce, Qinghan.”
“Got a problem with that?” Lin Qinghan raised an eyebrow at her.
Shen Xian quickly shook her head. “Nope. Whatever Qinghan says goes.”
When they walked in hand in hand to register, the staff checked their information, looked up, and remarked, “Ah, remarriage? That’s rare. After all the ups and downs, you still chose each other. Congratulations.”
Shen Xian smiled at the clerk. “Thank you.”
But really—where was the “ups and downs”? Her Mrs. Shen was someone she spent two lifetimes looking for.
To make their marriage certificate photo look nice, both Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan wore crisp white shirts. With their fair skin, the two of them standing together were a scene in and of themselves.
There were many couples waiting for photos that day. Shen Xian sat with Lin Qinghan on a bench, still holding her hand.
Lin Qinghan chuckled at her clinginess. “You’re glued to me? I’m right next to you, and you still won’t let go?”
Shen Xian played with her fingers. “You of all people should know exactly how clingy I can be.”
Catching the innuendo in her tone, Lin Qinghan gave her a light smack. “Stop being cheeky.”
Shen Xian finally behaved. After about forty minutes, it was their turn. Both of them were smiling in their photo, and once the photos were printed and sealed on the documents, everything was finalized.
They stepped out of the Civil Affairs Bureau with their little red booklets in hand, both beaming. Shen Xian gave Lin Qinghan’s palm a squeeze. “Now I’m officially Mrs. Lin. There’s no backing out, Qinghan.”
“Who said I was backing out? Mrs. Lin, stop talking nonsense. Let’s go pick up Tiantian. She’s getting out of school in about half an hour.”
Meanwhile, their daughter was obediently sitting beside Lu Ningwan. She’d found a new way to get close to her “Xiao Lu-jiejie”—by asking her to explain characters from fairy tales she didn’t know. Sure enough, Tiantian was at it again, waving her pigtails and asking sweetly, “Xiao Lu-jiejie, what do these words mean?”
Lu Ningwan leaned over and studied the words like a little grown-up. “These three characters say ‘in the forest’. A forest is a place filled with trees, and there are many animals living inside too.” She patiently explained both the reading and the meaning.
But Tiantian wasn’t really there to learn. After the explanation, she looked up at Lu Ningwan with wide, admiring eyes and clapped her little hands. “Xiao Lu-jiejie, you’re amazing! You know everything! Thank you for helping me~”
Lu Ningwan smiled at her and went back to her book.
Tiantian, now thoroughly pleased with the interaction, lingered for a bit, then packed up her book and went to play with Li Mengmeng and the others. They’d been slightly annoyed that Tiantian always wanted to be around Lu Ningwan instead of them.
Tiantian bounced over happily. “Mengmeng, what are you guys playing?”
Li Mengmeng pouted. “Aren’t you supposed to be with your Xiao Lu-jiejie?”
Tiantian opened her bear-shaped candy tin. “She likes quiet. I read with her for a bit, and now I’m here. Want candy? My mommy got me bear gummies—lots of flavors. Let’s share!”
The moment Mengmeng and Huang Shuai saw the candy, they forgot all about being mad. Mengmeng shyly rubbed her hands together and asked, “Tiantian, can I have one of each flavor?”
Tiantian smiled. “Of course! You and Huang Shuai can each have one of every kind.”
She handed out candies, then carefully laid a clean napkin in front of Lu Ningwan and placed three of each flavor on it. “Thank you for helping me, Xiao Lu-jiejie. These are for you.”
Lu Ningwan looked at the colorful pile, then at the little girl beaming at her. She popped one in her mouth and said, “Thank you, Tiantian. It’s very sweet.”
Tiantian lit up instantly. Her dimples popped as she chirped, “Thank you for saying I’m sweet, Xiao Lu-jiejie~”
When Lu Ningwan returned to her book, Tiantian wandered off to play. The other kids, their mouths full of candy, no longer cared that Tiantian had been hanging out with Lu Ningwan.
At pickup time, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan arrived to see Tiantian happily saying goodbye to Lu Ningwan before running over to them.
Shen Xian couldn’t help but pout. Why did she feel jealous of a little girl?
That night, as they tucked Tiantian into bed and read her a story, she proudly flipped to the same page from earlier. “Mama, Mommy, these three words say ‘in the forest’. It means a place with lots of trees and animals. Xiao Lu-jiejie taught me~”
Shen Xian replied in mock jealousy, “Oh, so if Xiao Lu-jiejie teaches you something, you remember. But when Mama or Mommy teaches you, you forget?”
Tiantian, unaware her mommy was sulking, nodded. “Yup, Xiao Lu-jiejie teaches really well~”
Lin Qinghan chuckled, pinching her cheek. “Since she teaches so well, why don’t you ask her to tell you bedtime stories too?”
Tiantian paused, stumped. But they don’t live together—how would that work?
Lin Qinghan poked her gently. “You really want her to tuck you in too? Hah.”
Shen Xian burst into laughter. Tiantian was especially energetic that night, and it took three or four stories before she finally drifted off. By then, Shen Xian had also dozed off next to her.
Lin Qinghan smiled wryly. She’d managed to lull both her wife and daughter to sleep. Knowing how hard Shen Xian had been working on wedding preparations, she didn’t have the heart to wake her. She kissed both their foreheads and ended up sleeping in Tiantian’s room too.
In the middle of the night, Tiantian woke up needing the bathroom. Seeing both her mommy and mama by her side, she was a little dazed—but very happy. It had been a while since they’d all slept together.
Quietly, she slipped out of bed, put on her little slippers, and went to the bathroom.
When she climbed back into bed, neither of the adults had stirred. She snuggled up to each of them, nuzzled a bit, and thought to herself how much she loved her mommy and mama—how happy she was with their life now.
She was a bit restless in her sleep and woke up in Lin Qinghan’s arms. Rubbing her eyes, she mumbled sleepily, “Mama~”
“Yes, time to wake up,” Lin Qinghan said, helping her get dressed along with Shen Xian.
Shen Xian, half-awake, muttered, “I don’t even remember when I fell asleep. Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“You looked so peaceful. I figured I’d let you rest. You’ve been working hard on the wedding,” Lin Qinghan said gently.
Tiantian sensed something odd in the air between her moms, though she couldn’t say what it was. “Mama, what’s a wedding?” she asked curiously.
Lin Qinghan thought for a moment. “A wedding is a big, important event that people have when they want to be with someone they love.”
Tiantian nodded thoughtfully. After a long pause, she declared, “Then I want to have a wedding with Xiao Lu-jiejie someday.”
Shen Xian nearly choked laughing. “Tiantian, only grown-ups can get married—it’s not like playing house.”
Pouting, Tiantian insisted, “Then I’ll have one with her when I grow up!”
Lin Qinghan and Shen Xian were both in stitches. Children say the silliest things—but no one takes it seriously. Soon, they were all off to brush their teeth, and Tiantian’s declaration became just another sweet, funny moment in their everyday life.
