Transmigrated as the Vampire Alpha of the Omega Heroine - Chapter 53
“Though it’s somewhat cute, I might feel uncomfortable if you treated me that way,” Jiang Nian’s soft voice came through the phone. “I don’t want our feelings to affect each other’s normal social relationships. I might get a little jealous, but I won’t go overboard like Attorney Ji.”
Ever since they spent that rut period together, her little omega had matured significantly, now openly sharing many thoughts with her.
Gu Li unconsciously nodded, smiling as she responded, “Mmm, we won’t do that. I agree with and support all your non-romantic relationships.”
Time always flew when talking with someone you loved. Having spent most of her lunch break on the call, Gu Li rested her head on her desk for a quick nap.
When she woke up, she saw Attorney Ji sitting beside her, watching her eagerly.
She rubbed her eyes, making sure she wasn’t dreaming.
“Attorney Ji?”
Ji Bai seemed to have returned to her normal self, with a hint of shame on her face. “I’m sorry about earlier. I lost control of my emotions. My apologies, Miss Gu.”
Gu Li blinked, surprised.
“It’s fine, but is there something you need?”
It was nearly time to return to work.
Ji Bai pursed her lips thoughtfully before speaking carefully, “Miss Gu, could you tell me how to manage an alpha’s inexplicable possessiveness?”
She kept being led by this instinct, losing all rationality when it came to matters involving Gu Wei. She used to think this was an expression of love, but when she sent Gu Wei off earlier, her expression had clearly been unhappy.
She’d realized she’d gone too far.
“Through mutual respect. I treat others how I’d want to be treated it has little to do with an alpha’s possessive instincts.” Gu Li set her phone aside and handed Ji Bai a bottle of water.
“Before saying or doing anything, ask yourself: is this truly good for her, or is it just my own selfish desire? If you’re still unsure, you could ask for her opinion first.”
“Miss Gu, sometimes you really don’t seem like a freshly graduated high school student,” Ji Bai said, accepting the unopened water bottle. “Thank you for the advice, and again, I’m truly sorry. I’ll think carefully about this.”
Gu Li nodded kindly, wondering why she, a recent high school graduate, had to endure both workplace hardships and play love counselor.
But she quickly pushed these thoughts aside, focusing on her afternoon work.
When leaving work, Jiang Nian was waiting outside the company. The now-jacketless employee had undone her white shirt’s top button, her tall figure and long legs moving swiftly through the crowd as she rushed toward Jiang Nian.
“Let’s go to the theme park and ride the Ferris wheel,” Gu Li said, pulling her into an embrace with a bright smile.
The student discount halved the price, and dinner vouchers came with the tickets.
The alpha followed behind Jiang Nian, watching as she generously paid their entrance fees.
“Niannian is so rich now. Don’t abandon me when you become a wealthy lady,” Gu Li joked, tugging playfully at her sleeve.
Earlier, several of Jiang Nian’s paintings from her mentor’s studio had been selected as reference samples for the next cohort of students, earning her a fee for her work. She was even invited to assist as a teaching assistant during the summer program.
The heroine’s talent was already beginning to shine, and from this point onward, Jiang Nian would only grow more renowned her paintings and designs gaining widespread recognition.
“Stop teasing me,” Jiang Nian blushed, grabbing Gu Li’s hand as they walked further in.
The Ferris wheel stood at the heart of the theme park. Though the sky hadn’t fully darkened yet, its lights had already flickered on, dazzling against the twilight.
All around them, people cosplayed as various anime characters, each distinct in their own way as they strolled along.
The two of them, however, stood out, an alpha in a sharp suit and an omega in a flowing dress, completely mismatched against the vibrant anime aesthetic.
“Oh, there’s a cosplay event here today. No wonder there are so many cosplayers,” Gu Li remarked as they walked forward, spotting the barely noticeable sign partially obscured by a brightly dressed cosplayer.
A young woman dressed as Sailor Moon hurried over, holding out two items for them to see.
They were black chokers, simple yet elegant, adorned with small decorative accents.
Clearly designed as a matching pair.
Jiang Nian would look stunning in it.
Gu Li would look stunning in it.
The same thought crossed both their minds before the cosplayer could even begin her sales pitch. Each reached for one.
“I want this,” they said in unison, then laughed at their shared impulse.
In the end, they bought each other’s chokers.
Handmade by the cosplayer, the accessories were clean and well-packaged, prompting them to put them on right away. As the chokers brushed against the soft skin of their napes, a subtle, unspoken tension flickered between them.
The silver pendant dangled delicately against the black band, adding a touch of allure to the omega’s fair neck, while the alpha’s choker, half-hidden beneath her collar, lent her an air of restrained elegance.
The sight made them lean in for a quick, teasing kiss before pressing close together to wait for the Ferris wheel.
“Later, when we reach the top…” Jiang Nian’s voice was a whisper against Gu Li’s ear.
“Can I kiss you there?” The omega’s warm breath ghosted over her skin, equal parts request and temptation.
Her fingers toyed with Gu Li’s choker, tracing the material before lightly brushing the spot on her nape.
“Can I kiss you back then?” Gu Li countered, catching the mischievous hand.
The response was a faint, almost imperceptible nod.
This was the largest Ferris wheel in City B, taking about twenty-five minutes per rotation. The attendant guided them into their cabin, carefully shutting the door behind them.
“Have a wonderful evening,” the attendant said with a smile.
And that wish, of course, would come true.
The gears turned slowly, setting the massive structure in motion, lifting the little metal cabins with their occupants toward the sky.
The night had fully darkened, with only a few bright stars scattered around the moon, paling in comparison to the radiant glow of the Ferris wheel.
As the two in their seat neared the very top, Jiang Nian reached out to the alpha before her, settling onto her lap.
Her small rabbit-like teeth nipped at Gu Li’s lips, savoring the alpha’s taste.
“They say if you kiss the person you love at the top of the Ferris wheel, you’ll stay together for a lifetime,” Jiang Nian murmured, pulling back just enough to gaze at Gu Li with sparkling eyes. “But I’m greedy. I want to be with you in the next life, and the one after that too.”
Her fingers tugged lightly at the black choker around Gu Li’s neck, revealing the scent patch beneath the soft skin there already reacting to her lover’s kisses.
Jiang Nian carefully peeled back a corner of the patch and pressed her lips against it.
Not to be outdone, the alpha responded more fiercely, her sharp teeth catching on the omega’s choker before biting at the scent patch on the back of her neck, releasing the trapped milky tea fragrance that enveloped them both. Only then did she finally claim that tender spot with a satisfied kiss.
Just kissing, nothing more.
She repeated it in her mind, though she knew it was a flimsy lie.
The big, puppy-like alpha lifted her head, pulling the omega, who was still kissing her nape-up to face her. “Can I bite? Just for a little. No marking.”
The Ferris wheel had just passed its peak, with over ten minutes left before they reached the ground.
Seeing the hunger in her eyes, Jiang Nian huffed in amusement. “Fine.”
Then, without waiting, she bit down first on the alpha’s scent gland. Unlike the gentleness of their kisses, the sharp sensation of teeth breaking skin was amplified in the confined space like a ritual, a brand, lasting only as long as the descent from the highest point to the lowest.
Gu Li was the first to pull away from the milky tea-scented omega, sealing the moment with a kiss.
“I love you.”
The omega, still draped over her neck, lifted her head and pressed close, pecking Gu Li’s lips. “I love you too.”
