Transmigrated as the Disabled Alpha Wife of the Black Moonlight and She Said She Loves Me - Chapter 46.3
Later that evening, Meng Xien and Min Jiru walked hand in hand through the shopping mall, their fingers interlocked.
“Minmin, what did you think of the restaurant we just went to? Was the food decent?”
Min Jiru nodded. “It was pretty good. We should go back again.”
As they walked, people passed by, many casting envious glances at the strikingly compatible couple.
Min Jiru chuckled softly, as if lost in thought. “Xien, did you know? President Huo asked me to do her a favor today.”
“What kind of favor?”
“President Huo knows I live in the Xingguang Road area, so she asked me to keep an eye out when I’m out eating or walking. She wants me to pay special attention to the person accompanying CEO Meng.”
Meng Xien choked back a laugh. “So she wants you to be her spy?”
“Mm-hmm. I bet President Huo knows you’ve moved to Hefeng Court now.”
Meng Xien sighed. “I bet they found out about me having Xiao Tao deliver my clothes yesterday.”
“You haven’t been home for two nights in a row. Your family must be wondering what’s going on.”
Meng Xien gently swung their joined hands. “Just think about Jianan. You’d say she’s clever, right? But look how innocent she was at lunch, worried I hadn’t eaten enough and insisted on giving me half of her beef. Yet if you said she wasn’t clever, she specifically asked you—the person directly involved—to be her spy.”
Min Jiru lowered her head and chuckled, recalling how Huo Jianan had assumed Meng Xien liked the side dishes—peanuts mixed with cilantro—when in reality, Meng Xien had been picking them out because she was allergic to peanuts and hated cilantro. It was just like how they used to do in the high school cafeteria.
Once again, Min Jiru felt that her boss, Huo Jianan, was indeed quite naive and endearing in certain ways.
Meng Xien stopped walking and tugged on Min Jiru’s hand.
Min Jiru paused and turned around. “What is it?”
“Minmin, I want to take you home and formally introduce you to Aunt Xu, Jianan, and the others. You already know Aunt Xu and Jianan, right?”
Min Jiru paused, seeing the eager hope in Meng Xien’s eyes. She almost blurted out a yes, but then something occurred to her, and a sudden pang of pain struck her heart. She turned away. “I’m not ready yet. Let’s… let’s not tell them for now, okay?”
“You don’t need to prepare anything. Aunt Xu said she just wants me to find a kind and good-hearted girl. Jianan would be even more supportive.”
“I… I…” Min Jiru gritted her teeth, a sudden sourness flooding her heart. “Let’s just… let’s not tell them yet. I… I’m afraid I’ll… disappoint you.” As she spoke, her voice grew softer and softer, nearly choking on the lump in her throat.
“It’s okay. How could you ever disappoint me?” Meng Xien smiled gently, wrapping her arms around the girl she loved. “Alright, I won’t push you. When you’re ready, we’ll go meet the parents together, okay?”
“Mm…” Min Jiru’s heart ached fiercely. She rested her chin on Meng Xien’s shoulder, burying her nose in the crook of his neck, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over.
Her Xien was truly wonderful, always indulging her every whim.
This gentle Xien… she couldn’t bear to let him go. She simply couldn’t bring herself to let him go.
Meng Xien patted her back. “Alright, this is a public place, and people are watching. We’ll hug at home.” Meng Xien whispered in her ear, her warm, moist lips brushing against her earlobe. We can hug however we want when we get home.
Min Jiru’s face flushed crimson like a startled bunny. She straightened up and pulled away from Meng Xien’s embrace.
Meng Xien chuckled softly, took her hand, and intertwined their fingers. “What’s the rush? Quit being my spy for your boss. I really am seeing someone, you know. This would be perfect for a photo to catch me in the act.”
Min Jiru held her hand, biting her lip with a secret smile. “I’m not about to rat myself out.”
Min Jiru turned back, and Meng Xien followed suit. Their eyes met, and they both smiled.
After browsing two stores without finding anything suitable, they were about to head to another when they overheard a conversation:
“That person is definitely an Alpha.”
“Cold and aloof, just my type.”
“Didn’t you see she has a girlfriend? Her girlfriend is pretty too!”
“What a shame! Why do all the guys I like already have girlfriends?”
“Could it be because you keep staring at the ones with girlfriends?”
“Aah, I’m gonna hit you! Hmph! I’m not shopping with you anymore.”
The two laughed and teased each other as they ran off. Min Jiru turned to look at the tall, slender figure beside her. From this angle, the elegant curve of her pale, refined profile was almost flawless.
“Are all Alphas this handsome?”
“How could an unattractive Alpha attract a beautiful girl like you?”
Min Jiru bit her lip, her tongue gently flicking the pink surface. “Xien, I really want to kiss you right now. What should I do?”
In the bustling shopping mall, Meng Xien scanned the area and spotted the emergency isolation room sign. Every large shopping mall has multiple isolation rooms to accommodate Alphas or Omegas who may be inadvertently stimulated by external pheromones and don’t have a suppressant patch. These rooms are equipped with suppressant patches, high-strength suppressants, blocker patches, wet wipes, and a small bed.
Meng Xien gripped Min Jiru’s wrist and led her through a winding path, taking a small detour before pulling her into the isolation room.
Click—she locked the door.
The moment the lock clicked, Min Jiru pressed Meng Xien against the door and kissed her, easily parting her lips as if they were reliving their most intimate moments of the past two nights. Their tongues entwined, savoring the sweet, soft depths of each other’s mouths, hungrily claiming what they craved.
This was a public isolation room, a space that offered only a semblance of privacy. Kissing here made Min Jiru feel embarrassed, but she couldn’t care about that right now. She simply wanted to kiss Meng Xien.
Whenever she was near her, Min Jiru couldn’t resist the urge to get closer, to draw even nearer.
Between gasping breaths, Meng Xien’s arms tightened around her waist. The hem of her shirt, tucked into her waistband, was pulled free and slid up her slender waist.
The fabric rose higher…
Min Jiru pressed herself even closer, a soft moan rising from the depths of her throat. Before the sound could escape, Meng Xien captured her lips, swallowing the sound.
In the cramped isolation room, the chaotic rhythm of their breathing, the passionate sounds of their kisses, and the stifled gasps intertwined in a tangled symphony.
Anyone could walk past outside at any moment, and Min Jiru worried they might be heard. But Meng Xien’s mischievous hands refused to behave, and Min Jiru found herself helplessly wanting her to be even bolder.
Meng Xien panted, her breath carrying the scent of white lilies. Her cool eyes were tinged with a faint blush. “Minmin,” she said, “let’s just go straight home.”
The isolation room contained only a small bed, but Meng Xien was deeply repulsed by the idea. How could she let her pristine Minmin lie on a bed that had been used by countless others?
“You’re not buying clothes?”
“I’m not buying anything!” Her breath, growing increasingly heated, puffed against Min Jiru’s neck as she pressed her face against the crook of her neck, lips suckling her tender skin.
Min Jiru swayed unsteadily, leaning against the wall, biting her red lips as her fingers gripped Meng Xien’s hair tightly. “Then let’s go back—right now.”
After her shower, Huo Jianan called her wife. It was later than usual; Wang Baobao had just called her.
Hearing that she had returned from Ruan Nianning’s place after Christmas, Wang Baobao chuckled mischievously. “Dada, you and your wife have been apart for so long. Now that you’re reunited, it must be like dry firewood catching flame—heh heh heh.”
Huo Jianan: “……”
We’ve never even done that, so how come everyone assumes I’m some seasoned veteran?
“You and Doctor Jiang… did you go out drinking on Christmas Eve?”
Wang Baobao sighed. “It didn’t happen. Her mother suddenly fell ill and had to be rushed to Changbin Hospital for emergency surgery on Christmas Eve. She’s now hospitalized at the same hospital where her daughter works.”
“Didn’t you offer to show some concern for your future mother-in-law?”
“I’ve already visited her. It’s not good to go too often. She’s taking care of her mother, and we haven’t been running at night these past few days.”
“How is Doctor Jiang’s mother doing? Was the surgery successful?”
“It went fairly well. I heard she should be able to be discharged after staying another half month or so.”
“I’m starting rehabilitation at the hospital again tomorrow. Can you still pick me up? If not, I’ll just drive myself.”
“No way! I promised I’d keep picking you up until you finish your rehabilitation and can stand on your own. I want to be the first person to see you stand up.”
Huo Jianan felt a little moved. Wang Baobao, this rich second-generation heir, tirelessly drove her back and forth every day, rain or shine, without any compensation. Just for that, he was a good friend.
“Baobao, you’re incredibly persevering.”
Wang Baobao blushed a little. “My father always said I’d never accomplish anything. I refuse to believe that. This time, I’m going to succeed in losing weight and show them all.”
“Hmm, I believe you can definitely do it. You’ll definitely succeed in losing weight.”
“Haha, thanks! To be honest, Dada, it’s you who gave me the confidence. If Dada can endure daily rehabilitation, I can definitely lose weight.”
Huo Jianan smiled faintly. “It’s certainly difficult. But when I think about being able to stand up again, no matter how hard it is, I have to keep going.”
“Me too,” Wang Baobao replied.
After exchanging some good-natured flattery, they agreed to meet at the hospital tomorrow and hung up.
The phone rang for a long time before connecting. When Ruan Nianning saw her wife’s radiant beauty on the video call, she felt a surge of happiness.
“Darling, how was your filming today?”
“Smooth. About the acquisition, you had to make a decision today, right? Did you decide?”
“I did. I decided to cancel the acquisition. I announced it at the conference today, and Sister Meng was very supportive…”
Ruan Nianning didn’t ask why. She seemed unsurprised, or perhaps she simply wasn’t as concerned about the acquisition anymore. Her focus was on something else.
Watching Huo Jianan’s bright smile and confident demeanor on the screen, the questions that had been lingering in Ruan Nianning’s mind resurfaced: Who exactly is this person? Where did the real Huo Jianan go? And how can I avenge myself?
“Wife? Wife? You seem distracted. Is your cold still bothering you?”
Last night during their video call, Huo Jianan had already noticed her wife seemed absent-minded. Though Ruan Nianning appeared to be looking right at her, she hadn’t processed a single word Huo Jianan said, as if her mind was wandering.
Last night, Huo Jianan had urged her wife to rest and get plenty of sleep, but today she was still in the same state.
You could say she wasn’t paying attention, yet she was clearly watching him and even smiling. But if you said she was paying attention, during conversations she wouldn’t respond to the same question unless he asked it several times.
“My cold is almost gone,” Ruan Nianning said slowly.
Huo Jianan thought for a moment, then asked, “Wife, how far has the plot of the drama you’re filming progressed? Has your character reached the point where she’s been battered by so many blows that she’s about to collapse? Wife, this is just acting, not your real life. You need to snap out of it. Should I ask Sister Song for help to get you out of character?”
Huo Jianan was deeply worried, afraid that Ruan Nianning had become obsessed with her role.
Wasn’t there a saying that “without madness, there is no art”? To achieve breakthroughs, it’s necessary to fully immerse yourself in your passion. But Huo Jianan believed maintaining a healthy mental state was equally important.
Ruan Nianning paused, then chuckled at Huo Jianan’s concern. “Are you afraid I’ll become Cheng Dieyi?”
“Then if you become the real Yu Ji, I’d have to become the real Hegemon King. But the Hegemon King of Western Chu met a tragic end—committing suicide at Wujiang. Maybe we should just stop playing Hegemon King and Yu Ji.”
Ruan Nianning laughed, finally snapping out of her daze. “Don’t worry. I’ve been acting for years—I know my limits.”
Huo Jianan felt slightly relieved. “Wife, make sure you get some rest. I know you love acting, so I won’t bother you.”
Huo Jianan lowered her gaze, avoiding the camera. “When I’m not by your side, take care of yourself. If you need anything, just let me know. I’m your wife, and I want to be your closest support in this world.”
Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke, her heart pounding with nervousness. She had never felt this anxious, not even during the morning’s board meeting when they approved a multibillion-dollar acquisition.
This was probably the most heartfelt confession she had ever made to Wolfie.
Yes, she wanted to be Ruan Nianning’s pillar of support, always there for her no matter where she was, ready to catch her gaze whenever she turned back.
She wanted Ruan Nianning, freed from her obsession with revenge, to live the happy life she deserved.
On the screen, the young woman lowered her eyelids, revealing long, curled lashes and delicate earlobes flushed with a charming pink.
Ruan Nianning stared at that adorable blush, her lips curving involuntarily. But then, as if remembering something, the smile faded, leaving her looking restless.
“Darling, it’s getting late, and you have work tomorrow. We should wrap up here.”
“Mm-hmm. Get some rest. You must have been busy all day.” Ruan Nianning smiled and prepared to end the video call.
“Wait, darling.”
Ruan Nianning paused.
“Goodnight, darling. Don’t forget—we agreed to say goodnight every day.”
Ruan Nianning froze again. This time, the corners of her lips curved slightly. “Goodnight.”
Huo Jianan was visibly distracted at work, her mind constantly drifting to Ruan Nianning. What’s wrong with her?
Whether she admitted it or not, Ruan Nianning hadn’t been her usual cheerful self in the past few video calls. She rarely smiled—neither her flirtatious grin nor her genuine, carefree laughter.
Huo Jianan could sense something was troubling Ruan Nianning, something deep. She longed to ask, What’s on your mind? Can’t you just tell me?
She picked up her phone several times, then put it down. She felt unworthy. After all, wasn’t she hiding a shocking secret from Ruan Nianning herself?
Like the fact that she wasn’t actually Huo Jianan at all.
