“Fox Carp, just die already!”

“Ah!” The world spun violently as Hu Li cried out in pain. She propped herself up on her arms and sat up, staring blankly at the unfamiliar surroundings.

Just as Hu Li was struggling to make sense of her situation, rustling sounds came from the nearby bushes.

“Who’s there?” Hu Li prayed inwardly, please don’t let it be a bad person.

The rustling continued until a golden-furred tiger emerged, its forehead shimmering with multicolored light.

Holy shit! Hu Li wanted to run, but her legs were too weak. She could only watch as the majestic beast approached, its overwhelming aura making her tremble in fear.

The tiger carried her in its mouth to a cave, where it transformed into a strikingly handsome man. His face was flushed with an unnatural redness, and without a word, he began tearing at his robes.

“Hey, big guy, isn’t this a bit too forward for a first meeting?” Hu Li’s mouth nearly watered at the sight of his flawless physique.

“Female, have you mated before?”

Damn, is this guy serious?! The next second, Hu Li was pinned beneath him.

Torn fabric flew through the air as Hu Li barely had time to cover herself before being pressed against the cave wall.

“You, big jerk!”

No matter how much she screamed, it had no effect.

The man was injured and had been dosed with powdered herbs by someone else. Though dazed, he retained enough awareness to confirm that the female beside him had never taken a mate—and his actions grew even bolder.

“Female, you belong to this prince. If you dare take another beastman as your mate, the pain you suffer will be a hundred times worse than today.”

Hu Li didn’t understand his words. Exhausted and powerless, she endured his relentless “torment” until her vision blurred completely.

Time passed indeterminately before she faintly heard someone calling her name.

A red fox shifted into human form, fists clenched at the sight before him. Just which damned male dared to lay hands on his Fox Carp?

“Chief, I told you we should’ve driven Fox Carp out of the tribe long ago! Not only did she seduce my mate, but now she sneaks out to fool around with other beastmen. She should be exiled look at her now, half-dead after being ravaged by some male, probably more than one!”

“Fox Rong, enough! Fox Carp is still a female. Compared to other tribes, ours still has an advantage.”

“Chief, I’m a female too, and I’ve contributed over twenty fox cubs to the tribe! Fox Carp has done nothing for us, yet she dares to meet wild males in secret. So many males in the tribe are still unmated, why should this ungrateful fox stay?”

Fox Rong’s mates chimed in, shouting, “Drive Fox Carp out!”

[System No. 250 at your service. You are currently in a beastman world, and I will assist you in completing your mission.]

Hu Li’s soul drifted in the system space, utterly bewildered.

“What the hell? I really transmigrated?!”

[Yes, and you are currently carrying offspring.]

“Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!!! System, don’t mess with me, am I really pregnant?!”

[Yes, Host.]

“But I just, how did I get pregnant so fast?!”

Hearing the shouts, the Fox Clan elder hurried into the cave, followed closely by Hu Rong, who was eager to watch the spectacle.

After examining her briefly, the elder shook his head.

“Hahaha, Hu Li is finally going to die! Elder, you still have many matters to attend to. Leave the rest to my beast-husbands! I’ll make sure this wretch’s body is dumped far away.”

At this point, the elder could only sigh and stand up. After all, Hu Rong had contributed so many fox cubs to the tribe and held considerable influence.

Just as Hu Rong was about to call in a few of her beast-husbands to carry Hu Li away, the woman who had been lying weakly on the ground suddenly sat bolt upright.

“Don’t throw me away, I can still be saved!” Hu Li shot up in an instant.

Everyone present was startled, though none were as terrified as Hu Rong after all, she had a guilty conscience.

Hu Li sneered inwardly. I’ve watched dozens of palace dramas and read hundreds of scheming novels, did you really think a bunch of foxes could bully me?

Thanks to the system’s crash course, Hu Li wasn’t as afraid of foxes anymore. She turned politely to the elder.

“No, no.” The elder shook his head quickly. Good, she didn’t hear. Losing a female would weaken the tribe, we can’t afford to fall behind the neighboring clans, or we’ll be mocked.

“Hu Li, why did you go to the forbidden land? I’ve long forbidden anyone from entering.”

Forbidden land? Did he mean the cliff?

At this, tears welled in Hu Li’s eyes. She tried to get up but struggled, prompting the elder to stop her.

“Elder… someone tried to kill me.”

“What? Who would dare? Harming a female is a grave crime, I won’t let them off lightly!”

Hu Rong, who had just regained consciousness, shuddered at these words and quickly spoke up to divert attention.

“Hu Li, you ungrateful, ugly fox! Instead of bearing cubs for our tribe, you got pregnant by some stray beastman! The tribe feeds you, protects you, if you won’t contribute, then get out!”

Hu Li’s temper flared. I just got here, and now you’re telling me to leave? Who the hell do you think you are?

“You have the nerve to shout at me? If you hadn’t lured me to the forbidden land and pushed me off, would I be covered in injuries right now?”

Hu Rong clenched her fists in panic. No, harming a female is a serious crime, I can’t admit to this.

“Hu Li, you’re spouting nonsense! After our big fight last time, we haven’t seen each other at all. How could I have led you to the forbidden grounds? It must have been you sneaking off to meet that wild beastman.” Then she turned a pitiful gaze toward her beast husbands, “I’ve been spending all my time with you these past few days, working hard to contribute more cubs to the tribe. You know that.”

Fox Rong’s beast husbands couldn’t bear to see their wife wronged and glared at Hu Li, “You’re lying.”

“That’s right, Chief, she’s lying. Our wife has been at home with us these past few days, busy making cubs.”

Hu Li felt her face burn with embarrassment. How could they say such shameless things out loud? This was so awkward! Though later, when she would see beastmen openly mating outside, she’d realize today’s words were nothing in comparison.

“Hey, you’re the ones lying! It was clearly Hu Rong who pushed me.” Hu Li was utterly exasperated. Of course they would stick together as a family!

Fox Rong planted her hands on her hips, looking smug. “I have my beastmen as witnesses. If you’ve got the guts, find someone to prove I pushed you! Unless… you can call that wild beastman of yours to testify for you.”

Before she fell, Hu Li had clearly seen it was Fox Rong. And at the scene of the incident, there was no one else… Wait, who had rescued her? Was it that man?

“Chief, I can prove Hu Rong pushed Hu Li.”

A pair of slender, pale hands pushed aside the animal hide covering the cave entrance, and a tall, lean figure bent down to step inside.

“Hu Zhuo? You, a scrawny rogue fox, dare to stand up and speak for Hu Li? Everyone knows you have a thing for her. What a pair the two weakest foxes in the tribe coming together.”

Hu Rong’s mocking words were immediately followed by laughter from her beast husbands.

From the moment Hu Zhuo entered, Hu Li was stunned. How could there be such a handsome man in the world… no, male fox spirit? So good-looking.

In the end, Hu Li could only watch as Fox Rong and her group left triumphantly. Before departing, Fox Rong didn’t forget to mock them one last time.

The taunting voices faded into the distance. Fox Zhuo wore a look of guilt. “I’m sorry, Hu Li. I couldn’t help you.”

Hu Li quickly waved her hands. “It’s fine, it’s fine. They just outnumbered us, that’s all.”

“Human?” Hu Zhuo’s eyes were filled with confusion. “What’s a human?”

I almost forgot, this was a beast world continent. “No… I meant beastmen. You must have misheard.”

“Oh!” Fox Zhuo scratched his ears. “Hu Li, I… I…”

His hesitant demeanor could drive me crazy all day. “Just say whatever you want to say, quickly.”

“I want to be your beast-husband. Males shouldn’t bully females, so with me around, no female would dare to bully you anymore. Even if you’re already carrying someone else’s cubs, it doesn’t matter. I’m willing to raise them.”

Hu Li found this amusing. She reached out and grabbed the animal hide he was wearing, pulling him closer. Hu Zhuo bent down with her tug, bringing their faces extremely close. “Little fox brother, do you want to mate with me?”

Teasing a serious fox was the most fun. Hu Li jumped up and ruffled his ears, making Hu Zhuo blush even harder. “Hu Li, I’ll come see you later.” With that, he dashed out.

Hu Li truly hadn’t expected him to be so innocent.

The incident of being pushed off the cliff was temporarily set aside. Hu Li looked around their so-called “home” was a cave, with a stone bed covered in straw and nothing else.

Fox Li looked at her “home”, it was a mess. Even someone without OCD would develop it. By the time she finished cleaning, it was already dark. She lit a fire and looked at the now tidy cave. Finally, it felt like a home.

“Fox Li… are you there?”

Fox Li recognized Fox Zhuo’s voice and let him in directly.

“Fox Zhuo, what’s the matter?”

Fox Zhuo looked bashful. “I came to mate with you.”

“What?”

Under the glow of the firelight, his pale skin contrasted sharply with his fiery red hair. Fox Zhuo’s gaze was fixed intently on Fox Li.

As Fox Zhuo stepped closer, Fox Li kept backing away until her back hit the cave wall nowhere left to retreat.
