- Transmigrated As A Beautiful Cannon Fodder Omega To Marry An Evil God Alpha In Place of Another
- Chapter 2 - A Pinch on the Inner Thigh
A faint, sweet fragrance quietly diffused through the air, ethereal and fleeting, vanishing almost instantly.
Bai Rui felt a surge of panic, uncertain if that stray wisp was his pheromones escaping.
In the real world, he was a straight Beta. In the setting of this manga, the eldest prince was originally supposed to be an Alpha. However, the moment he transmigrated, he discovered he was an Omega with an underdeveloped gland, practically a “defective product.”
Is… is he about to be found out?
His heart hammered so violently it felt like his eardrums were vibrating. Bai Rui could only keep his hands behind his back, clenching his fists until his knuckles turned white.
Beneath the carpet, the throbbing fins seemed ready to leap out in excitement.
“He’s hiding a weapon on his inner thigh!!”
“Hahaha! I guessed right, didn’t I? He’s here to assassinate!”
“Such a beautiful little thing, and he’s not here for a political marriage? Isn’t that even more tragic?”
“Haha, our Great Sorcerer Emperor, currently in his pheromone restlessness period, is in for a treat, hahaha~”
The tall, robust young man stopped in his tracks, turned around, and stared at Bai Rui.
Bai Rui’s heart was racing, but he forced a frown and maintained his composure. “Does the Ice Badger Castle allow people to be slandered based on such baseless claims?”
The young man stepped closer. His massive chest muscles seemed to crowd the very air out of Bai Rui’s lungs. As he leaned down to look at him from a height, Bai Rui noticed that the young man’s dark eyes had vertical, golden pupils.
“My apologies, Princess. While I am sorry, I must still perform a routine inspection.”
The towering youth cast a heavy shadow over Bai Rui’s lean body, almost completely enveloping him. The overwhelming pressure crashed down. Bai Rui took a step back until his shoulder blades hit the wall. A bone-chilling cold seeped into him, sending a shiver down his spine.
“Inspection… how will you inspect?”
The youth looked down at Bai Rui, whose eyes were slightly reddened, and gave a nearly imperceptible swallow.
“Don’t be afraid. Just a routine check.”
The youth’s large, calloused hand reached toward Bai Rui’s thighs. Through the fabric of his trousers, the rough texture and heavy joints of the hand were clearly felt, the friction slightly painful against Bai Rui’s exceptionally fair and delicate skin.
Bai Rui’s eyes widened in shock, a wave of tremors exploding across his scalp. But he had nowhere to retreat; the solid wall was behind him.
Finally, that large hand squeezed his inner thigh, lingering for a moment before withdrawing. “It’s safe.”
“No hidden blade.”
Bai Rui turned his face away, his ears burning. He didn’t dare look up at the man. Fortunately, he had hidden the dagger under his pillow before leaving, otherwise, it would have been found. Moreover, the man’s hand was large and his palm was hot. Most importantly, the back of that hand seemed to have brushed against…
“Hahaha! Black Dragon, you actually did it!”
“Does the future Princess smell good? The little beauty’s legs are long and thin, felt good, didn’t they?”
“You brat, your claws are fast. You didn’t just touch, you gave him a squeeze! How was it? Is he built ‘delicately’ down there?”
“Careful our Great Sorcerer Emperor doesn’t find out and turn you into the castle’s foundation too, hahaha~”
The bulges under the carpet became even more agitated, scurrying back and forth under the wide staircase.
“You haven’t checked if he’s an Omega yet! What’s the rush!”
“Didn’t they say the one coming for the marriage was an Alpha? Quick, check his glands! We’re all waiting!”
“Black Dragon, are you impotent? Or are you afraid the Emperor will whip you, his mount, and stop letting you be the captain of the guard? Hahaha!”
The voices were shrill, making it impossible for Bai Rui to lift his head. It wasn’t until the muscular man stepped aside that the tower like pressure vanished, and Bai Rui could finally breathe again.
“Honorable Princess, please follow me to continue the tour.”
Black Dragon ignored the laughter. “Our Ice Badger Castle is full of secret guards. Security is excellent, naturally, there is no chance for anyone to hide such dangerous items.”
With that, he stomped his foot on the floor, and the mocking, piercing laughter finally died down.
“Please do not mind them. According to custom, before the wedding, I must take you to tour the outer court of the castle.”
“…Fine.”
Bai Rui managed to calm his heartbeat and followed Black Dragon up the stairs. He walked in silence. By now, seeing the metallic hooked tail peeking out from under Black Dragon’s tailcoat no longer bothered him, he was becoming numb to it.
Perhaps this world is just this abnormal, and in the eyes of this world, my Eastern features are the true anomaly.
As they walked, Bai Rui found himself drawn to the oil paintings on the walls. This supposedly cruel and evil Sorcerer Emperor actually possessed high artistic taste…
While lost in thought, they rounded a corner, and his eyes widened. A cold door stood before them. The high, double wooden doors were tightly shut, reinforced with metal bands. The handle was a golden coiled snake, with two snake heads each holding a golden ring in their mouths.
Though made of wood, the door radiated a chill that warned people to keep away. As they approached, a cold wind blew in from a nearby stained glass window. The eyes of the coiled snake on the handle snapped open, beady red eyes staring intently at Bai Rui. They looked like they were watching an intruder, their vertical pupils filled with malice.
Bai Rui opened his mouth, he recognized that door handle. It was the handle to the Collection Room, and those two red eyed golden snakes were something he had drawn.
“Honorable Princess, the tour is over. We should head back.” Black Dragon stood in front of Bai Rui. Whether intentional or not, his massive body acted like a wall, blocking the entrance to the collection room.
Bai Rui pursed his lips and looked up at Black Dragon, pointing behind him. “That place… aren’t we visiting it?”
Black Dragon looked back at the closed door, then at Bai Rui. “Princess, do you wish to visit His Majesty’s collection room? The general tour doesn’t include this area.”
Of course it didn’t. The lock looked like it wasn’t meant to be opened easily. In this setting, a treasure room was naturally a high-security area. But something inside that room might help him resolve his current predicament.
Bai Rui raised his chin, his gaze unwavering. “Is this not part of the outer court? Since it is, the tour isn’t truly complete until I’ve seen it, right?”
He insisted, leaving Black Dragon a bit puzzled. Black Dragon stared at him for a long time, rubbing his chin in thought. Bai Rui felt his heart drumming, fearing he would be seen through, he kept his eyes half-lidded, his face expressionless, and his breathing slow. In the real world, he was used to being silent, and he had mastered the “dead inside” look perfectly.
“Fine, you have a point.” Black Dragon smashed his left fist into his right palm as if remembering something, then grinned. “Let’s take a look. I haven’t been in there for a while myself.”
Black Dragon stepped forward and placed his hands on the handles. The pair of golden snakes seemed to dislike his touch, hissing and flicking their tongues in annoyance, but Black Dragon slapped them back into place. Soon, the snakes began to swim in circles along the lock plate. With a crisp clack of the mechanical gears, the door creaked open a sliver.
Black Dragon pushed the heavy doors open with ease. The metallic groan of the hinges echoed down the empty corridor. As the doors swung wide, a warm yellow light spilled out, casting long shadows of the two men.
Bai Rui had expected it to be cold and filled with macabre horrors. Instead, he saw crucibles and test tubes. At first glance, it looked like a chemistry lab, though the vibrant liquids bubbling inside the tall tubes looked like they meant business.
“This is the Emperor’s latest research… Lately, His Majesty has been obsessed with a cocktail made of sage and mandrake. You should try it sometime, it’s quite a kick.”
Black Dragon laughed excitedly, leading the way into the collection room. His boyish face crinkled at the nose, revealing a pair of bright white tiger fangs.
“No, thank you,” Bai Rui said, looking around.
“It’s really good, don’t be so stiff.” Black Dragon was taking his job as a guide very seriously. “This is ‘Truth Chocolate,’ that’s ‘Speed Writing Beans,’ oh, and this is the Emperor’s new collection, the ‘Pocket Dimension Watch.’ It looks quite similar to the one on your chest…”
As he spoke, he moved deeper into the room.
Bai Rui followed a few steps behind, standing before the “Universal Pocket Watch” and staring silently at the small metal object. It was indeed similar to the watch he wore. As for why, it was because he had been lazy when drawing props and used the same design.
Black Dragon continued his tireless explanation, his tail occasionally popping out from the slit in his tailcoat to catch some air. Bai Rui stole a quick glance at Black Dragon’s broad back. Just as his hand reached out to grasp the watch, a strange sensation came from his leg.
Bai Rui looked down, and his scalp went numb.
The golden snake from the door lock had crawled down and wrapped itself around his ankle. Its red eyes were fixed on him, and its long, thin tongue was hissing. The snake began to slither up his leg, coiling like it was climbing a pillar.
“Ah! Princess, why haven’t you kept up?”
Black Dragon, realizing something was wrong, squinted and turned back, only to see the golden snake wrapped almost to Bai Rui’s inner thigh.
“What is this doing?”
Black Dragon frowned and strode back. Seeing that mountain like figure looming over him, Bai Rui’s eyes widened involuntarily.
Thump-thump, thump-thump.
Every one of Black Dragon’s footsteps seemed to stomp directly on Bai Rui’s heartstrings. Finally, Black Dragon reached him and reached out his hand.
In the next second, Black Dragon yanked the golden snake away with one hand while circling Bai Rui’s waist with the other. The previously menacing snake was tossed back toward the lock plate with a gust of wind, landing dizzily and tangling with its partner.
Bai Rui crashed into Black Dragon’s firm, powerful chest, buried completely in his embrace. His eyes were wide, the shock of the moment far outweighing the fear.
He hurriedly said, “Thank you for the help,” and tried to pull back, but he was held firmly by the waist. His slender waist, encircled by the long arm, seemed even more fragile.
Bai Rui looked up, his gaze crashing straight into the movement of Black Dragon’s Adam’s apple as he swallowed.
Black Dragon’s voice rumbled above his head:
“Princess, did it bite you? Do I need to… check you again?”
