- Chapter 19 - How Strange, Take Another Look
“What does she mean?”
“Does she want to see my chest?”
Ji Xunchi clearly remembered the lie the original owner had told about having a “sexy figure,” because she had even complained at the time about how the chest didn’t match the description at all.
So now, is retribution coming?
But why isn’t this retribution falling on the original culprit?!
Ji Xunchi pressed a hand to her chest, her mind screaming with frustration.
“System, system.”
No response from the system.
Ji Xunchi: “Spinach, spinach, little spinach?”
No response from the spinach.
Ji Xunchi focused and lowered her head to type: [Tonight?]
[Strawberry Tip: Tomorrow is fine too.]
[Strawberry Tip: Sister, this request isn’t too much, is it? After all, you have such a great figure, and you’ve mentioned it so many times before. I’m really curious now.]
Ji Xunchi was speechless.
Original owner, oh original owner, why did you have to go around bragging about things you don’t have? So the persona you built for yourself was entirely self-created?
[Let’s do it tonight, but I’ll need a little while.]
[Strawberry Tip: OK, no rush.]
[Strawberry Tip: Transfer: 500.]
Ji Xunchi rubbed her hair, clicked her tongue in annoyance, and pushed open the bedroom door to leave.
“Where are you going so late?”
Grandma Ji, sitting in the living room, asked as she saw her heading out.
Ji Xunchi bent down to put on her shoes and tie the laces. “I’m just going to buy something nearby. I’ll be back soon.”
Grandma Ji reminded her, “Hurry back, and be careful on the road.”
After tying her shoes, Ji Xunchi straightened up. “Yeah, you should go to bed early.”
Closing the door behind her, Ji Xunchi walked out while searching for directions on her phone.
She remembered there was an adult store nearby.
Twenty minutes later, Ji Xunchi returned carrying a black plastic bag.
The living room was empty now. With a blank expression, Ji Xunchi carried the bag back to her bedroom and locked the door behind her.
She opened the black plastic bag, and out tumbled silicone chest pads and hip enhancers.
What’s a sexy figure without the classic S-curve of ample curves in the front and back?
“Heh.”
For some reason, Ji Xunchi crossed her arms and let out a short laugh as she looked at the “evidence” on the bed.
Bending down to pick up the scattered pads, she selected a dress from the wardrobe and changed into it.
“Buzz, buzz, buzz!”
A series of vibrations sounded. Hua Jiangyu picked up her phone and tapped to open the messages.

Three messages from Paradise in quick succession.
For some reason, Hua Jiangyu didn’t immediately tap to enlarge the images this time, unlike when she had eagerly zoomed in on the “abs” photo before.
Her hand hovered over the screen for three seconds before she finally tapped to enlarge.
Red dress, fair skin the figure looked quite slender.
Hua Jiangyu’s gaze zeroed in on the chest in the photo.
This was, after all, the purpose of tonight’s request.
Uh, it was big.
Hua Jiangyu glanced at it twice, then turned off her phone, feeling a little dazed.
Paradise’s chest looked really big, and the shape was very full.
Hua Jiangyu hadn’t meant to privately critique her like this, but the photo she’d sent made that area stand out so much.
It looked like the fabric of the dress was completely stretched over her chest, while the waist area was looser, creating a stark contrast.
Especially with the perky butt in the background.
Ample curves in the front and back, both straining the fabric, making the waist look exceptionally tiny.
Hua Jiangyu’s mind was blank. She hadn’t expected Paradise to send her such an obvious photo.
And why was she deliberately sticking her butt out like that?
It feels so strange.
Hua Jiangyu unconsciously turned on her phone screen, and as she lowered her head, her face was successfully recognized by facial recognition, abruptly displaying the photo she had been looking at before the screen went dark.
Sexy and alluring.
So weird.
Hua Jiangyu couldn’t help but glance at it again.
[Paradise: How is it? Sexy enough? Satisfied?]
The greasy remark made Hua Jiangyu frown.
What did her satisfaction have to do with anything? She just wanted to verify the goods.
The image of Ji Xunchi’s flat chest from earlier in the day flashed through her mind. Hua Jiangyu kept a straight face, looking particularly serious.
[Strawberry Tip: So you weren’t lying about this one.]
Seeing this, Ji Xunchi raised an eyebrow.
Did she manage to fool her?
She reached into her chest and pulled out the breast pads, immediately feeling a sense of relief. The hip pads had long been tossed onto the bed.
She deliberately teased: [Need more photos? If you do, I can keep taking them.]
The reply from the other side came swiftly.
[Strawberry Tip: No, no, these are enough.]
The speed of the refusal made it seem like she was afraid Ji Xunchi would spam her with more.
Glancing at the deliberately posed photos, Ji Xunchi felt nothing inside.
Though this body wasn’t truly hers, it looked identical. The exaggeratedly sexy and affected poses didn’t stir any emotions in her.
But she could probably guess that these photos might still be quite impactful for an innocent college girl.
She lowered her head and typed: [Still want a bedtime story tonight?]
[Strawberry Tip: No need.]
[Then get some rest early.]
After sending the last message, Ji Xunchi pinched the silicone breast pads on the bed between two fingers, stared at them for a couple of seconds, then decisively tucked them away deep in the closet.
What if she needed them again in the future?
Late at night, the moon was bright, and the stars sparse.
Hua Jiangyu lay in bed, unusually unable to sleep.
She turned over, her wide-awake eyes fixed on the ceiling, recalling the brief moment of heart palpitations she’d had earlier that day.
At the same time, Ji Xunchi’s face and Paradise’s ambiguous photos flickered alternately in her mind.
Could it be that her subconscious preference in looks was actually this type?
Perhaps because Ji Xunchi’s face was clearer, Hua Jiangyu couldn’t help but compare them in her heart.
Both had jet-black long hair, fair skin, narrow eyes that naturally carried a hint of laughter, and flawless, perfectly balanced features.
But the differences were still too stark.
Hua Jiangyu couldn’t help but doubt herself.
She had always thought she preferred the “older sister” type. But Ji Xunchi was clearly around her age though the exact number was unclear, it couldn’t be far off.
And in terms of voice, the two were complete opposites.
One was low and husky, magnetic; the other bright and laced with laughter.
As for their figures…
Hua Jiangyu covered her eyes, not daring to think further.
But her late-night brain seemed to have a mind of its own, uncontrollably analyzing on its own.
Both were slim, but the biggest difference probably lay in the “S-curve” effect.
But a flat chest didn’t diminish someone’s charm.
Hua Jiangyu lowered her hands from her eyes, rationality returning as she inwardly scolded herself. She turned over, trying hard to summon sleep.
What did other people’s looks have to do with her?
Just before sleep took her, the image of Ji Xunchi habitually covering her abdomen flashed through her mind.
Hua Jiangyu closed her eyes and gradually drifted into slumber.
The first month’s manuscript fee had arrived.
Ji Xunchi looked at the five-figure royalty payment in her bank card and did a quick mental calculation. If she wanted to fully repay Strawberry Tip’s money, she was still a little short.
After all, the necklace that the original owner had swindled was quite valuable.
But they were going to break up this month, and there wasn’t enough time to wait for next month’s royalty payment to be cashed out. Ji Xunchi wanted to return everything to the other party by the time they parted ways.
She pondered for a moment and searched on social media to see if there were any short-term part-time jobs she could take.
The next evening after school, Ji Xunchi didn’t rush home. Instead, she took a taxi to a certain place.
“Hello, is the necklace I reserved still available?”
“Hello, ma’am. It’s already been packaged for you.”
Ji Xunchi let out a sigh of relief and nodded. “Good. I’ll settle the bill now. Please bring me the necklace.”
Five minutes later, holding the exact same necklace that the original owner had sold secondhand the one Strawberry Tip had given Ji Xunchi felt as if she had accomplished a major goal, her entire body relaxing at once.
Finally, the dark cloud of debt looming over her head had mostly dissipated.
Carrying the bag, she waited by the roadside with light steps for the ride she had just booked on her phone.
“Ji Xunchi?”
Hua Jiangyu, holding a book, paused mid-step and looked at Ji Xunchi in surprise.
They weren’t in the same district, what was the other doing here on a weekday?
Perhaps because she had spent half the night thinking about this person before falling asleep, Hua Jiangyu felt an unusual twinge of guilt.
Ji Xunchi pulled her gaze away from her phone. “I came to buy something.”
She lifted the branded packaging box in her hand.
Hua Jiangyu glanced at it and couldn’t help but freeze.
That packaging was all too familiar.
Over a month ago, faced with Paradise’s not-so-subtle hints, Hua Jiangyu, though uninterested, had casually ordered a necklace online and sent it to her.
Her memory was good. Though she hadn’t cared much for the necklace at the time, the black-and-white panda printed on the packaging had been so adorably clumsy that she couldn’t help but stare at it for a couple of seconds, inadvertently memorizing the distinctive design.
Now, the packaging bag Ji Xunchi was holding had the exact same panda printed in the bottom right corner.
Her brow twitched. Hua Jiangyu suddenly recalled that the address Paradise had provided was indeed in the same city as hers.
Thinking back to the address, she realized it was in the neighboring district to Ji Xunchi’s very close by.
What a coincidence.
Unable to resist, she stole another glance at the bag.
Ji Xunchi studied her for a moment.
What was this girl thinking, with her eyes darting around like that?
Her face was truly youthful, but her expression management was seriously lacking.
Ji Xunchi couldn’t help but imagine what an adult Hua Jiangyu would look like in such an easily readable state, and the corners of her lips curled up slightly.
Hua Jiangyu’s grip on her book bag tightened.
That nostalgic gaze, looking through her again.
She felt utterly uncomfortable, but a sudden surge of irritation rose in her chest.
Hua Jiangyu pressed her lips together. “Oh, I have things to do. I’ll go ahead.”
Without waiting for Ji Xunchi’s response, she hurried past her, books in hand.
Ji Xunchi: “…”
What was that about?
Why the sudden anger?
Recalling how the other’s ears had turned red earlier, Ji Xunchi blinked innocently.
She really didn’t understand anything.
And yet…
Ji Xunchi lowered her head and opened the message from the driver, who said there was traffic and asked her to wait a little longer. She fell into thought.
Young Hua Jiangyu’s emotions were truly rich and full, and she was also very prone to displaying little moods.
She was much more vivid and lively back then.
Feeling somewhat melancholy, she wondered why she had to encounter someone who was like a little fairy that only drank dew.
Just then, a message suddenly popped up in the temporary part-time job group chat.
[Ultraman Out of Light: Substitute parent-teacher meeting tomorrow afternoon, 500 for the session, anyone interested?]
Eyes lighting up, Ji Xunchi tapped into her years of concert ticket-snatching reflexes and quickly grabbed the opportunity.
[Fluttering Butterfly: ME!!!]
