The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 3
Lin Qiu stood on the curb with her back to Qin Huai, her feet shifting in small movements to pass the time.
The alpha’s desire for conquest felt like water overflowing at this moment, necessitating her distance from Qin Huai lest she lose composure in front of her.
In her heart, Lin Qiu was both arrogant and contemptuous. She was arrogant that the omega, whom everyone considered difficult, would finally submit to her pheromones tonight, becoming utterly dependent on her. Yet, she was also contemptuous of the omega’s existence weren’t they just objects to help alphas through their susceptible periods?
What was so noble about that!!
Lin Qiu had already laid out her plans in her mind: she had a hundred ways to coax an omega into a lifelong mark during sex, and a hundred ways to break up with the omega after the marking was complete.
After she was done playing this time, she would go find Shen Zhi.
Lin Qiu only needed to tear a small opening in her imagination for the pockets of her heart to be filled with the filth of desire. She turned and glanced towards Qin Huai, and the small flame burning in her heart was abruptly extinguished.
Qin Huai rarely showed her emotions even the occasional moments of relaxation were quickly reined in before anyone could notice.
Today was no different. When she saw that video, a chill ran through Qin Huai, like ice cold water in the twelfth lunar month, splashing over her head, causing an uncontrollable, numb shudder.
But after watching the video, even though her body was wrapped in a cotton coat and she was still shivering, her facial expression betrayed no discomfort.
Across the road, Qin Huai watched the alpha hurrying towards her. Her heart felt as if it were being pricked by countless fine needles. For the past five years, she had been like a clown performing on a stage, her clumsy, ugly posture a source of uproarious laughter.
Lin Qiu had the kind of gentle, delicate features that were entirely non-aggressive, making interactions with her feel warm and comfortable.
Facing this Lin Qiu, Qin Huai couldn’t utter a single curse word, nor could she make an ugly expression. Lin Qiu stopped in front of her, and Qin Huai’s mind went blank. She moved her lips and said, “Let’s break up.”
Lin Qiu’s reaction was exactly as Qin Huai had imagined. She frowned at first, her face full of confusion mixed with concern, “Huai Huai, what are you talking about? Are you feeling unwell?”
Qin Huai pulled at the corner of her mouth, “I’m fine, I just want to break up with you.”
Lin Qiu’s brow remained tightly furrowed. She raised her arm, intending to place it on Qin Huai’s shoulder, but her hand fell through empty space.
She didn’t understand why Qin Huai seemed entirely possessed, a completely different person, after just answering a phone call.
Perhaps Qin Huai’s step back was too distant, and Lin Qiu looked hurt, “Huai Huai, if it’s because of what happened today, I apologize to you, I’m sorry.”
Lin Qiu’s speech was fast and her attitude sincere, a kind of unprecedented calm. She had a lot to say, but Qin Huai didn’t have the patience to listen.
“Lin Qiu, don’t you feel disgusted?” Qin Huai confessed, standing beneath the tree branches.
Lin Qiu was stunned for a moment, not grasping the meaning.
With that question posed, the confusion that had been suppressed in Qin Huai’s heart finally cleared.
She disliked Lin Qiu getting close to her, disliked intimate acts with Lin Qiu, and disliked Lin Qiu invading her private life. There was a safety distance between her and Lin Qiu, and whenever the other party crossed that line, her stomach would immediately fill with a sour, sickening feeling.
The trauma from her childhood had never truly gone away. She thought she had found the alpha who was willing to stay with her, but it turned out to have always been a pipe dream.
She couldn’t do anything intimate with someone she didn’t genuinely like.
Just like now, she couldn’t calmly face a person who was not serious about their relationship.
Since she couldn’t overcome it, then so be it.
Qin Huai raised her eyes, radiating a cool detachment.
Lin Qiu remained silent, and Qin Huai didn’t bother to say or question another word. She turned and walked towards the dormitory entrance.
As soon as her foot landed on the first step, Lin Qiu grabbed her wrist, accompanied by the alpha’s yielding voice, “Huai Huai, I was wrong.”
The alpha’s strength held a natural advantage. Qin Huai twisted her wrist but couldn’t pull free. The pain, even through her cotton coat, made her extremely uncomfortable.
She frowned and turned around, looking down at Lin Qiu. Without the burden of guilt weighing on her heart, her true self gradually surfaced.
A detached and sharp demeanor, like the cold iron tip of an arrow, carrying an unyielding sharpness.
The arrowhead cut through the air.
Qin Huai spoke, her tone flat, “Get lost. Seeing you disgusts me.”
When she returned to the dorm, Qin Huai still had some lingering aggression. She tossed the key onto the desk with a ‘clank.’
Leaning against the chair, she looked at the phone’s built-in calculator, her index finger tapping her chin rhythmically as she tallied the mess of the breakup.
She was not in the habit of letting others pay for meals; she always split the cost with Lin Qiu after the alpha settled the bill. She had never accepted gifts from Lin Qiu for birthdays or holidays. Economically, their situation was manageable.
The only difficulty was likely the student assistant appointed this afternoon.
There were six classes in the Pheromone major, and only two assistant sisters were hired. She and Lin Qiu each managed three classes. Since they had broken up, she didn’t consider herself magnanimous enough to be colleagues. She sent a message to her advisor, asking if it was possible to find a postgraduate student to help instead.
Qin Huai’s advisor was a female omega, who was very approachable except for when they were in the lab.
Qin Huai sent the message and received a refusal.
The advisor’s exact words were: Do you think this is a farmers’ market, where you can look around and change your mind?
Qin Huai hadn’t held much hope anyway, and reaching out to the advisor was just a desperate attempt. Now that she had been rejected, she simply leaned back in her chair, her forearm resting helplessly over her forehead, closing her eyes for a brief rest.
She would never get into an office romance again.
Thinking of this, Qin Huai suddenly opened her eyes, remembering the information in the screenshots Liu Nian had sent her. She smacked her forehead and sat up straight, desperately trying to salvage the situation.
She had almost forgotten that the major the assistant was serving was also Shen Zhi’s major.
In the afternoon, Qin Huai received a WeChat message from the freshman counselor.
[Teacher Yang: Qin Huai, hello. I am the freshman counselor, my surname is Yang. The department has given a temporary notice that there will be a class meeting and distribution of textbooks for this semester at 3 p.m. this afternoon. Please take the students from classes 4-6 to the library in time.]
An image of the classroom location was attached.
There were six classes in the freshman Pheromone major in total. Qin Huai was in charge of classes 4-6, so the person in charge of classes 1-3 was obvious.
The dorm room was already tidied up, and the air was dust-free. Qin Huai dropped the rag in her hand, replied to the message with a “received,” and still hoped that her luck would be good enough not to be in the same class as Shen Zhi.
It was already 2:30 p.m. when she left the dorm building. Qin Huai’s dorm was not far from the academic building, a five-minute walk. But today, perhaps because of the school’s temporary notice, not only students from the Inhibitor major but also from other majors were present. The elevator was packed, not a gap in sight.
Qin Huai stood still, hesitated for a moment, and then walked up the stairs.
With the New Year just over, the forum incident today, and the student assistant taking over the class from the counselor every item was worthy of gossip. The classroom was buzzing with excitement.
“I heard the student assistant the counselor found has a notoriously bad temper and no patience. How are we going to survive?”
“You’re out of date. Someone on the forum said our student assistant for classes 4-6 is Qin Huai, the omega of the alpha who confessed to Shen Zhi.”
“Oh no, what should we do? Will she take revenge and make our lives miserable?”
“I don’t know if she’ll make your life miserable, but she can definitely make Shen Zhi’s life miserable.”
Following the comment, the three omegas clustered together all looked towards the back corner of the classroom.
One of the central figures of the gossip seemed immune to everything, sitting leisurely by the window. It was early spring, and the weather hadn’t shed its coldness yet. The alpha was dressed lightly, wearing a black shirt with a gray jacket, focused on browsing the forum on her phone.
Shen Zhi had deep set eyes and a well defined nose, the kind of sculpted perfection achieved with a precision knife. Her long hair, like a waterfall, fell loosely over her shoulders, the top voluminous and the ends slightly curled, carrying an inherent sense of languor.
No one would have guessed that the seemingly effortless long hair actually took an hour to style.
The post on the forum remained highly ranked. Zhang Mo, the alpha next to Shen Zhi, nudged Shen Zhi with her elbow, curiously asking, “Why has the heat of this post not dropped?”
Jiangcheng University’s forum had been established for a long time, practically encompassing all the gossip of Jiangcheng’s universities. Last year, an alpha from a neighboring university simultaneously cheated on three omegas, and that post only lasted half a day on the forum. Yet, this gossip—about an alpha confessing to an alpha, which wasn’t even a major incident—had maintained its heat for nearly a day.
This was really abnormal.
The alpha who had been confessed to showed no nervousness at all, not even raising her eyes, and said with a touch of pride, “If it doesn’t drop, it doesn’t drop. That scumbag alpha deserves to stay up there for a few more days, so other omegas don’t get tricked.”
Zhang Mo had known Shen Zhi for several years and understood her personality perfectly.
She turned off her phone screen, leaned towards Shen Zhi, and teased, “Are you worried about other omegas being tricked, or are you only worried about Senior Sister Qin Huai being tricked?”
Shen Zhi, poking at the screen, finally spared her friend a glare, implying, You know the answer, why ask?
Zhang Mo also realized her question was a bit foolish. She pulled away from Shen Zhi, slumped back in her chair, and said, “Got it, got it. You’re devoted to your goddess, loyal and true, even going to the trouble of styling your hair for a whole morning just to see her.”
Other alphas might find this embarrassing, but Shen Zhi did not.
Her eyes held an irrepressible smile, and the dimples beside her cheeks made her look exceptionally innocent and harmless, “It’s good that you know.”
Zhang Mo was long used to Shen Zhi’s worthless expression when Qin Huai was mentioned. She clicked her tongue, “The wild vegetables in Jiangcheng are probably not enough for you to dig.”
Shen Zhi tilted her head, her eyes returning to the screen, and she replied, “I’m happy to.”
The messages on the forum were extremely chaotic. Shen Zhi not only had to make sure the hot topic didn’t drop but also used a throwaway account from time to time to like comments that bashed Lin Qiu.
Just as she was adding fuel to the fire, having just commented on how to be an alpha with Alpha virtue, Zhang Mo looked towards the lectern and reminded her, “Your goddess is here.”
Shen Zhi immediately put down her phone, tucked her hair with her right hand, and sat up straight with a dignified posture.
Qin Huai stood beside the lectern in a black cotton coat, her posture upright and her demeanor at ease. That ease was not superficial but born of self-assurance in her abilities and the confidence gained from experience in public speaking.
Shen Zhi couldn’t bear to blink, watching her.
The classroom had quieted down.
Qin Huai then spoke, her cool voice echoing in the air. She gave a brief self-introduction and then went straight to the point, “I need a few alphas to come with me to the library to collect textbooks. The head students of your three classes, please stand up.”
With that said, Qin Huai unhurriedly walked back to the lectern, her hands resting on the edge of the desk, her gaze quickly sweeping over everyone in the tiered classroom.
Not seeing a face similar to the one in the video, Qin Huai finally relaxed, and her body followed suit.
“Is there no one?” Qin Huai lowered her head to look at the class details page the counselor had sent her, trying to find the names of the head students for the three classes.
“Yes, there is.” Someone in the back responded.
Qin Huai raised her eyes, her gaze shifting with the crowd’s focus to the corner by the window in the back row.
That face, which in her memory had only appeared in the video, was now right in front of her, separated by half a classroom.
Qin Huai frowned, and the corner of her mouth curved into a tiny smile.
The stand-up air conditioner was behind her, and Shen Zhi was almost the same height as it. Her smile was still radiant, her eyes uninhibited, faintly concealing a clear, childlike innocence. She was indeed very well-behaved when she pursed her lips and looked at Qin Huai, she was as well-behaved as a child who had received praise.
Shen Zhi’s expression was composed. When she spoke again, her eyebrows arched slightly, her gaze passing through the invisible barrier in the air, landing directly on the person behind the lectern. She was neither arrogant nor humble, her eyes filled with an uncontainable youthful spirit, “Welcome, Senior Sister Qin Huai. I am the head student for classes 4-6, Shen Zhi.”
