The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 11
Song Ziqing let out a yawn. This habit of getting drowsy the moment a meeting started seemed to be etched into her very soul.
Lu Qinnian sat to her upper left, facing everyone. The person reporting their work spoke with extreme caution, terrified that a single incorrect data point would earn them a scolding from these high-level executives.
The other attendees glanced at Lu Qinnian from time to time. No one expected her to bring this foster sister into the office. Weren’t there rumors that while the rest of the Lu family doted on Song Ziqing, Lu Qinnian was famously cold toward her? There were even whispers of a deep rift between them. What did it mean to suddenly bring her to a shareholders’ meeting? Was Song Ziqing actually joining the company?
Lu Qinnian looked over at the yawning Song Ziqing. The girl had tucked her hair behind her ears, but a few stray strands still shaded the corners of her eyes. Her yawn had left a shimmer of tears in her eyes, making her look red-rimmed and pitiably soft.
Seeing this, Lu Qinnian felt a sudden surge of heat in her chest. Her breathing grew ragged, yet her eyes couldn’t help but linger staring at those tender earlobes, the fair curve of her neck, and the subtle movement of her throat as she swallowed. Underneath the tightly buttoned collar of her sky-blue shirt, everything was hidden away, yet the more concealed she was, the more Lu Qinnian’s imagination ran wild. Even a small wrinkle in the girl’s clothing triggered a flood of intrusive thoughts.
Sensing a burning gaze, Song Ziqing caught Lu Qinnian staring at her out of the corner of her eye. A shiver ran down her spine.
Don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous. She’s just looking, right? It’s normal to look, Song Ziqing reassured herself, then took another peek.
Good grief! What is with that look?! Lu Qinnian, are you actually in heat?
Song Ziqing knit her brows. There was absolutely nothing “innocent” about those scorching eyes.
She set down her notebook and pen, acting as though she were simply shifting her position. She boldly crossed her legs; as she lifted her leg, the slit of her silk, cream-colored qipao-style dress rode up, exposing the fair skin of her upper thigh directly in front of Lu Qinnian without any reservation.
Lu Qinnian froze. She stared at Song Ziqing, but the girl was looking at the big screen behind her with an air of complete indifference. Song Ziqing propped her elbow on the table, twirling a pen between her fingers, and gave a harmless, pure smile to anyone who looked her way. Then, she tilted her head to make notes in her book as if she were paying close attention to the report.
Lu Qinnian’s gaze drifted downward, settling on those long, fair legs. She swallowed hard.
Is this ungrateful wolf doing this on purpose? Lu Qinnian thought with a frustrated scowl, looking up at the “studious” Song Ziqing.
Song Ziqing looked up, flashed her a quick smile, and jerked her chin toward the screen, signaling her to pay attention to the meeting.
Lu Qinnian was stunned. Could I really be overthinking this? She turned back to the report, but her mind was becoming increasingly unsettled.
Song Ziqing watched her from the side, admiring her lean profile. Regardless of her personality, Lu Qinnian’s features were undeniably perfect especially that jawline, which was clearer than Song Ziqing’s own life plans. It was breathtakingly cold and sexy.
Lu Qinnian turned back and caught her gaze. For a second, she looked embarrassed, like a thief caught in the act. Song Ziqing, however, played the part of the oblivious observer, giving her a sweet, placating smile while intentionally shifting her legs again, making the view even more tantalizing.
Lu Qinnian immediately looked away, her breathing turning sharp and heavy. Her mind was filled with images of Song Ziqing’s partially hidden legs; her blood felt like it was boiling, and her pheromones felt ready to surge out at any moment.
She realized something was very wrong. Even if the girl was a top-tier Omega, it shouldn’t be possible for a mere shift of her legs to provoke such a reaction. She felt breathless, and her legs were turning to jelly.
Lu Qinnian seemed to understand the situation. She stood up abruptly, startling everyone in the room. Her face was flushed crimson as she reached out and grabbed Song Ziqing’s hand—which had been busy doodling in the notebook. Her voice was trembling and thick with suppressed emotion. “Come with me.”
Song Ziqing was bewildered. Seeing the woman’s ears glowing red, she found it hilarious. All this just from me crossing my legs? Wasn’t she supposed to have incredible self-control in the original book? This is ‘incredible’?
Song Ziqing raised an eyebrow mockingly. “What’s wrong, Niannian? I can actually smell your pheromones. My goodness! The great eldest daughter of the Lu family is actually going into heat during a meeting?”
Lu Qinnian’s brow furrowed, and she turned back with a terrifyingly dark expression. Her cheeks were flushed as she kicked open the office door, dragged Song Ziqing inside, and slammed it shut.
Song Ziqing watched as the blinds were lowered. She swallowed hard, watching Lu Qinnian shed her blazer. The black shirt underneath was already unbuttoned at the top. She hadn’t expected the lean Lu Qinnian to be so well-built; Song Ziqing couldn’t help but take a small gulp before teasing, “Niannian… you should watch your attire during working hours.”
The moment the words left her mouth, she was grabbed by the waist and hauled into the other woman’s embrace. Only then did Song Ziqing realize the gravity of the situation. She looked up into eyes filled with raw desire and felt her heart hammer against her ribs. Lu Qinnian breathed her name like a woman who had lost her senses: “Song Ziqing…”
Lu Qinnian’s other hand gripped her waist, her burning palm suddenly sliding upward. Song Ziqing cried out in shock, “Lu Qinnian!”
