- The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL]
- Chapter 10 - She’s Getting Married?
Lu Qinnian brought Song Ziqing to the company and assigned her the position of secretary.
Song Ziqing was utterly bewildered. Good grief, what is this woman up to? A secretary? Isn’t she afraid I’ll cause trouble?
“Go make me a cup of coffee.”
Song Ziqing froze. The woman sitting behind the desk looked up at her. “What? Did you not understand me?”
Song Ziqing blinked in confusion. “I’m a secretary!”
“Correct. Is there a problem?”
Song Ziqing’s lips twitched. This bastard brought her here just to wait on her hand and foot like an errand girl.
Rolling her eyes, Song Ziqing went to brew the coffee in a huff, leaving the rest of the office staff in a state of shock.
“The most precious lady of the Lu family is actually at the office?”
“She’s even making coffee for Lu Qinnian. They really are close sisters.”
Song Ziqing smiled bitterly as she carried the coffee back toward Lu Qinnian’s office. Suddenly, someone pulled her aside. After checking the surroundings, they lowered their voice to a mysterious whisper.
“Miss, what are you doing? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to the company so I could make arrangements?”
Song Ziqing looked at his ID badge: Director Song Chi.
He was one of the original Song Ziqing’s capable henchmen from the novel’s plot. As a qualified villainess, the original host had eyes and ears everywhere in the Lu family; she had been prepared for a long time.
But the current Song Ziqing only wanted to appease Lu Qinnian and stay alive.
So she replied, “There was no need to tell you.”
She prepared to walk away with the coffee, but Song Chi immediately stopped her. He pulled a vial of liquid from his pocket and, with a cold sneer, emptied it into the cup.
Song Ziqing looked on, perplexed. “What is this?”
“Good stuff,” Song Chi sneered. This was a drug designed to induce a “heat” or rut. He wanted Lu Qinnian to make a fool of herself at the upcoming shareholders’ meeting.
Song Ziqing continued toward Lu Qinnian’s room. Good stuff? What could it be?
Though curious, she didn’t overthink it. Looking at the coffee in her hand, she swallowed. She was actually quite thirsty herself.
Lu Qinnian was busy tidying up her things, intentionally ignoring Song Ziqing as she stood there with the tray.
Eventually, Song Ziqing’s arms started to ache. “If you don’t drink this soon, it’ll get cold.”
Lu Qinnian replied indifferently, “Can’t you see I’m busy? I don’t have time.”
“Let me feed you then.” Song Ziqing, eager to please, lifted the cup and held it to the other woman’s lips.
Lu Qinnian froze and looked up. Song Ziqing nodded with a cheerful smile. “Drink up, Sister.”
Lu Qinnian felt a pang of suspicion. Showing hospitality for no reason… as expected, she’s just as annoying as ever.
“Does Sister not like me feeding her?” Song Ziqing looked aggrieved.
Lu Qinnian let out a cold snort. “Stop calling me ‘Sister’! I am not your sister!”
Despite her words, her eyes searched Song Ziqing’s face as she pressed her lips to the rim of the cup. Song Ziqing carefully tilted it, feeding her the coffee.
Just then, the assistant pushed the door open. Seeing the scene, she was startled, then immediately filled with envy. She had long heard that the Lu family doted on this youngest sister. Though not a Lu by blood, she was raised in the house and treated like one of their own; the bond between the sisters was supposedly deep enough to make anyone jealous.
Seeing it now, the rumors were clearly true. Even the cold, hot-tempered Lu Qinnian was being strangely obedient and letting her sister feed her. It was obvious how much the Lu family treasured the girl. Usually, Lu Qinnian told the assistant to watch out for Song Ziqing, acting annoyed and hateful—it turned out she was just a tsundere.
Noticing the arrival, Lu Qinnian looked up and swallowed the remaining coffee.
The assistant quickly set down the files, giving Song Ziqing a silent, smiling wave before retreating immediately when she saw Lu Qinnian’s stern face.
Song Ziqing smiled and looked down at the empty cup. She grabbed a tissue and leaned in toward the woman beside her.
Lu Qinnian was busy organizing her desk when a cute head suddenly popped into her field of vision. Song Ziqing looked up at her with a grin, using the tissue to wipe the coffee stains from the corners of her mouth. “Let me clean you up, Niannian.”
Lu Qinnian froze. She suddenly grabbed the girl’s hand and took a step back, taking the tissue to wipe her own mouth. Her calm demeanor felt momentarily disrupted. “What did you just call me?”
Song Ziqing looked at her playfully and turned to wash the coffee cup. “What else do you need me to do, Niannian?”
Lu Qinnian looked up, her deep eyes clouded with confusion. She knit her brows tightly. “You know exactly what your status is. Don’t be so intimate with me from now on.”
Song Ziqing was stunned. She looked back in confusion. “What status?”
“Hmm?” Lu Qinnian glared at her with displeasure.
Song Ziqing blinked, then realized what she meant—it was about her being an Omega. She raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Don’t worry, Niannian. I’m not interested in you. Besides, I’m hoping the Lu family will be my powerful backing so I can marry an Alpha who is devoted to me and follows my every word.”
With that, she strolled out of the office, leaving Lu Qinnian standing there in a daze. One phrase echoed in her mind: Song Ziqing wants to get married?! And she wants to use the Lu family as her backing?
As the eldest daughter of a family of elite Alphas, Lu Qinnian couldn’t process this immediately.
More infuriatingly—she wasn’t interested in her?! How could an Omega not be interested in her?!
“President Lu, everyone is ready.” The assistant pushed the door open.
Lu Qinnian looked up blankly, startling the assistant. “What’s wrong?”
Lu Qinnian quickly composed herself and shook her head. “Nothing. Let’s begin.”
As she stepped out of the office, she saw a familiar back standing in front of Song Ziqing.
“Yan Hui?” Lu Qinnian marched forward with displeasure.
Yan Hui turned around and gave her a friendly greeting. Lu Qinnian’s brow furrowed. Looking at the happy Song Ziqing, her heart sank. She couldn’t have set her sights on Yan Hui, could she?
Lu Qinnian grew nervous instantly and pulled Song Ziqing over. “What are you doing here?”
Yan Hui was taken aback. Seeing how protective Lu Qinnian was, her suspicions were further confirmed. Song Ziqing was very likely the top-tier Omega from that night. Such a high-quality Omega was a once-in-a-century find; a child born to her would undoubtedly be the elite of the elite.
Seeing Lu Qinnian’s nervous reaction, it was clear she already knew and wanted the girl for herself. They say, “the one who lives closest gets the advantage,” so it wouldn’t be easy to steal her away.
Song Ziqing broke free from Lu Qinnian’s grip and shot her a look of disdain. “Niannian! Yan Hui came to invite me to her house tonight to hang out.”
“To her house?” Lu Qinnian was instantly enraged, and her body began to feel hot. She assumed it was just her temper flaring and didn’t think twice.
Song Ziqing looked at her strangely. “Yeah.”
Yan Hui smiled. “It’s my birthday today, so I invited Sister Qingqing to join the fun.”
“Who is your sister?!” Lu Qinnian glared at Yan Hui before turning to the smiling girl. “You are not allowed to go!”
With that, she pulled Song Ziqing back into the office. The assistant gave the stunned Yan Hui a polite, smiling nod, then shot a look at the nearby staff. “If you dare let her in so easily again, you’re fired!”
Yan Hui laughed. “It wasn’t her fault; Qingqing agreed to it.”
The assistant smiled awkwardly and followed into the office, feeling deeply confused. Why was the scheming Yan Hui suddenly approaching Song Ziqing? It felt suspicious was another plot afoot.
