The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 1
Looking at the live time bomb set up right in front of her, Song Ziqing’s mind went completely blank.
Shouldn’t she be at her crush’s engagement party? Why was she lying under a desk?
As her consciousness wavered, a flood of memories that didn’t belong to her rushed into her mind, making her head throb with a dizzying ache. After a few moments, she snapped awake, gasping for air.
As it turned out, she had transmigrated into a melodramatic ABO high-society novel she had read not long ago. Even worse, she was the story’s unredeemable villain Song Ziqing, the foster daughter of the Lu family.
The entire Lu household had showered her with affection. The matriarch, Mother Lu, had even given her unconditional trust. However, the moment the original Song Ziqing discovered she had been removed from the family registry and had no legal right to the inheritance, she blackened instantly, embarking on a path of pure malice.
Her actions eventually led to the ruin of the Lu family. It took the eldest daughter, Lu Qinnian, exhausting every effort to finally bring her down and send her to prison.
Even then, she refused to accept her fate. While being apprehended, she tricked Lu Qinnian into a car and triggered an explosion, taking them both down in a final act of spite.
She was the ultimate “ungrateful wolf”—vicious, ruthless, and a master of manipulation. Aside from the eldest sister, Lu Qinnian, the other sisters likely wouldn’t have believed she was the one pulling the strings behind their backs until the day they died.
At that moment, the tablecloth was suddenly lifted. Song Ziqing snapped out of her trance and looked up at the woman peering down at her. The woman’s features were as exquisite as a painting, with willow-leaf eyes that carried a hint of natural melancholy. Her dark pupils were deep and mysterious, like a hidden pool in a forest, staring intently at her.
“What are you doing?” the woman asked. Her voice was clear and resonant, like a mountain spring flowing through melting snow—warm, yet with a distinct chill. Her tone was calm, devoid of any emotional ripples.
Song Ziqing regained her senses immediately. In the original plot, Song Ziqing had planted a bomb in Lu Qinnian’s office. It hadn’t killed Lu Qinnian, but it had claimed the life of the second Lu sister, who had wandered in by mistake.
Clearly, she had been caught red-handed by the protagonist the second she transmigrated. If she wasn’t mistaken, this was Lu Qinnian—the only person in the family who never smiled at her, the one who was perpetually stony-faced and cold, and the only one who clearly saw through her ambitions.
But in the original story, Lu Qinnian hadn’t even entered the office before the bomb went off. Why was she here now?
Song Ziqing didn’t have time to overthink. She narrowed her eyes and forced a naive, innocent smile. “I wanted to give Sister a surprise.”
Seeing her holding a screwdriver, her hair disarranged, and her face flushed and dusty from her “work,” Lu Qinnian glanced under the desk. A live time bomb was mounted there. Her brow furrowed as she suppressed her fury, asking coldly, “This is your so-called surprise?”
Song Ziqing’s heart skipped a beat. She maintained her composure, smiling with a look of pure, harmless sincerity. “Isn’t it a huge surprise?”
Lu Qinnian reached out and grabbed the vicious wolf, hauling her up by the collar. This time, she would protect her family. She would never again show even a shred of mercy to this venomous snake!
Terrified by the sheer rage in Lu Qinnian’s eyes, Song Ziqing began to tremble uncontrollably. Due to her intense emotional state, her pheromones began to leak out, their scent growing stronger by the second.
Lu Qinnian suddenly froze. When they were very young, Song Ziqing’s unreliable mother had left her with the Lu family, leading everyone to assume she was one of them.
The Lu family had produced elite Alphas for generations, so everyone naturally assumed she was an Alpha as well. To think that after all these years of pampering this little wolf, no one had realized she wasn’t an Alpha at all!
Lu Qinnian’s thoughts shifted, followed by a dark, mocking sneer. “A family of elite Alphas raising such a high-quality Omega without even knowing… that is indeed a surprise.”
Song Ziqing’s heart sank as she finally caught the scent of her own pheromones a faint aroma of roses, a perfect blend of sweetness and a hint of bitterness.
Before she could process it, she looked at the person holding her by the collar and felt utter despair. Her lack of emotional control had betrayed her secret.
Given how much Lu Qinnian loathed the original host, being caught like this surely meant she would be torn to pieces. There would be no place left for her to even be buried.
As Song Ziqing mourned her own tragic fate, her expression turned mournful.
Just then, the timer on the bomb under the desk began to count down. Song Ziqing glanced back, only to find herself being dragged toward the door by Lu Qinnian.
At the moment of detonation, Lu Qinnian wrapped an arm around her waist and leaped out of the office. The force of the blast sent them flying quite a distance, and Song Ziqing blacked out instantly.
Lu Qinnian looked back at the remains of her desk, which had been blown to splinters. She turned to the unconscious girl beside her and gave her a shove. “Get up. Don’t fake it.”
Lu Kui, the second daughter of the Lu family, had been on her way to deliver documents to Lu Qinnian. She had just stepped off the elevator when the explosion occurred. Once she regained her senses, she rushed over and worriedly cradled Song Ziqing’s head.
“Lu Qinnian, call an ambulance!” Lu Kui urged frantically as she kept calling out Song Ziqing’s name.
Left with no choice, Lu Qinnian called for a rescue team.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries; she had simply been knocked unconscious by the shockwave.
Later, in the hospital ward, Lu Kui stood by the bed with a worried expression. “Didn’t the doctor say she was fine? Why hasn’t Qingqing woken up yet?”
Beside her, Lu Qinnian, dressed in a pure white casual suit, watched Song Ziqing with a cold, silent gaze.
Lu Kui continued, “Lu Qinnian, weren’t you supposed to be at the branch office? Why did you come back so suddenly? You told me to wait for you downstairs, but then you went up alone without calling me!”
Listening to their conversation, Song Ziqing felt something was off. In the original plot, Lu Qinnian had stayed at the branch office, which was why she had asked Lu Kui to deliver the files—leading to Lu Kui becoming her scapegoat. Why hadn’t she gone this time?
Lu Qinnian replied dismissively, “I suddenly felt the matters at the branch weren’t that important.”
“Oh—” Lu Kui drawled, though she remained skeptical. Lu Qinnian was always cautious and meticulous; she would have only planned a trip to the branch if it were absolutely necessary. Canceling it so abruptly suggested there was something far more important at play.
Lu Kui looked at the sleeping Song Ziqing and felt a flash of realization. She glanced at Lu Qinnian, who was still staring silently at the girl on the bed, and teased her.
Sensing the gaze, Lu Qinnian turned back with a frown. “Why are you looking at me with that ridiculous grin?”
“Nothing.” Lu Kui shook her head, smiling. “I just thought that since you usually act like you can’t stand Qingqing, you’re actually quite concerned about her at a critical moment.”
Lu Qinnian stiffened, then turned away immediately. “Tell me when she wakes up.”
At that moment, the ward door was shoved open. Three women rushed in frantically, pushing Lu Kui aside and grabbing Song Ziqing’s hands. “Qingqing! What happened? Don’t scare us like this! If anything happens to you, how will I face your mother?”
The one crying was the mistress of the Lu household, Xu Mengling. She was childhood best friends with Song Ziqing’s mother. The Lu family had raised Song Ziqing for years, and while her birth mother rarely visited, Song Ziqing usually treated her mother with disdain during their occasional video calls.
The person beside her patted her shoulder, looking pained. “Wife, don’t be so sad. I’ll find the best doctors to treat Qingqing. I won’t let her suffer a single bit.”
“Waaaah… Sister Qingqing! Didn’t you say you’d go to the Maldives with me once I finished filming? Get up! You can’t break your promise!”
Song Ziqing felt a body sobbing against her. This had to be the rising star and film icon, Lu Ge. The original novel described her with words like “aggressive beauty” and “exquisite.” She was the one who pampered Song Ziqing the most.
Still pretending to be unconscious, Song Ziqing sighed inwardly. With so many people loving and spoiling her unconditionally, why on earth did the original host feel the need to cause trouble? Plotting to steal someone else’s family fortune… that is just too despicable!
Lu Kui stood to the side, unable to get a word in. Once the three had calmed down slightly, she spoke up. “The doctor said she was just knocked out by the impact. She just needs rest.”
Lu Ge, her face streaked with tears, looked up at Lu Kui. “Really?”
“Yeah. Honestly, she might have woken up from your crying already,” Lu Kui said, pouting.
Lu Ge hurried to sit up, stifling her sobs and lowering her voice. “Then let Qingqing sleep a bit longer.”
By the door, Lu Qinnian watched the group and shook her head helplessly. In her previous life, she had trusted this girl just as much. But later, she discovered the girl wanted her dead. Even after the explosion that accidentally killed Lu Kui—who had loved her so dearly—the girl showed no remorse, repeatedly attacking her own family.
Even at the very end, Lu Qinnian hadn’t wanted her to die. Yet, the girl had tricked her into that car, driving a bomb-laden vehicle off a bridge to explode over the sea.
Now that she was reborn, she would protect her family. She would never let this ungrateful wolf have her way again.
As Lu Qinnian stepped out of the ward, she was stopped by Chairman Lu Chi. “What exactly happened? Why was there a bomb in your office?”
“Mother.” Lu Qinnian hesitated. In her past life, she had exposed Song Ziqing immediately. But even with the evidence of Lu Kui’s death, Lu Chi refused to believe the girl was capable of such a thing. That lack of belief gave Song Ziqing the chance to drive a wedge between mother and daughter and continue her schemes.
“Speak up!” Lu Chi urged anxiously. “Was it the Yan family?!”
The Yans were the Lu family’s business rivals; their feud had lasted for a century. Naturally, Lu Chi’s first thought was their enemy.
Lu Qinnian shook her head. “No. Don’t worry, Mother. I will handle this matter.”
Seeing her daughter walk away, Lu Chi breathed a sigh of relief. The eldest daughter was in control of the Lu family’s affairs, and Lu Chi never doubted her competence. If Lu Qinnian said she could handle it, she would.
Back in the ward, Song Ziqing sensed that Lu Qinnian had left. She pretended to stir and wake up, looking confusedly at the three teary-eyed people surrounding her.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she was stunned. Looking at the three women—each more beautiful than the last—she couldn’t help but swallow hard. As expected of characters in a fictional world; they were simply too gorgeous!
“Qingqing, it’s me, your Second Sister, Lu Kui.” Lu Kui looked at her with concern.
Beside her, Lu Ge wiped her tears and grabbed her shoulders. “It’s me, Third Sister, Lu Ge. Qingqing, you didn’t hit your head so hard that you forgot your sisters, did you?”
Lu Ge looked at her with a pitiful, puppy-dog expression.
Mother Lu anxiously held her hand, sobbing. “It’s Mama. Qingqing, look closely at your Auntie Meng.”
Song Ziqing had never experienced such a display of affection. Moved to tears by their genuine care, she choked out, “I remember… Auntie Meng, Sister Kui, Sister Ge.”
The three exchanged glances. Though the way she addressed them had changed, it sounded much more intimate. They nodded and smiled happily.
Just then, Lu Chi entered. Seeing her foster daughter awake, she rushed over excitedly. “Qingqing, how are you feeling? Any discomfort? Tell your Uncle; I’ll get you the best doctors in the world.”
“I’m okay.” Song Ziqing shook her head, looking at the noblewoman before her. Her hair was elegantly pinned back, and while she had some grey at her temples, her eyes were bright and sharp, showing no signs of aging.
“Where is Sister Niannian?” Song Ziqing asked, her eyes blinking as she prepared to put on a grand performance.
She grabbed Lu Chi’s hand anxiously, her eyes brimming with tears. “Auntie Meng, how is Sister Niannian? Was she badly hurt in the explosion?”
“She’s fine, not a scratch on her,” Lu Kui said with a pout. “Lu Qinnian is tough as nails; she’s not that easy to kill.”
Mother Lu swatted Lu Kui lightly. “Kui-kui! How can you talk about your sister like that?”
Lu Kui muttered, “It’s the truth.”
Song Ziqing nodded inwardly. In the original plot, Lu Qinnian was indeed “tough as nails.” Song Ziqing had tried to assassinate her countless times, yet she always survived unscathed.
Now, Song Ziqing wanted to win these people over so they might save her life when the time came. She immediately pouted, her eyes turning red as she sobbed, “Is Sister Niannian really okay? Then why isn’t she here? Does she… does she hate me?”
Seeing her on the verge of a breakdown, the four were caught off guard. Mother Lu hurried to comfort her. “Of course not! Your sister likes you very much. She went to find the person who planted the bomb to get revenge for you!”
Song Ziqing’s heart skipped a beat. I’m doomed! Lu Qinnian wasn’t looking for revenge—she was looking for a way to finish her off!
Lu Ge took hold of the dazed girl. “Qingqing, what’s wrong?”
Song Ziqing snapped out of it and shook her head quickly. “I just think Sister Niannian is so kind. She’s so good to me… I must treat her even better from now on.”
