Pei Yan is the highest commander of the Alliance.

He had thought the fish was an Alpha — until the doctor told him it was an Enigma!
Furious, he kicked the other violently.
“You f—er! I’m going to kill you!”
The doctor panicked. “Commander Pei, calm down! Somebody, help! Quick!”
Later, Pei Yan sat in silence, smoking as the haze surrounded him.
He drew his gun and pressed it against Xie Yu’s forehead.
“From now on, you belong to me. You will swear loyalty to me for life. Betray me, and even if you flee to the ends of the earth, I’ll hunt you down and kill you. Do you understand?”
Xie Yu reached out, grasped the gun barrel, moved it to his chest, and smiled seductively.
“I, Xie Yu, have always belonged to my brother.”
As they spent time together, Pei Yan gradually realized this mermaid was pitifully naive and physically weak. He had only clung to Pei Yan out of the need to survive. Compassion began to stir in Pei Yan’s heart.

Pei Yan was imprisoned deep beneath the ocean.
Staring at his own mutated legs, panic gripped him.
He tried everything to escape, but Xie Yu’s tail coiled around him.
Webbed hands crawled up his back as a low, dark voice whispered.
“Brother, don’t run… Be my consort.”
Only then did Pei Yan realize just what kind of monster he had provoked.

“Mr. Xie, you’re an adult now. Always clinging to Ah Yan doesn’t look good. Do you expect him to support you forever?”
“So what?” Xie Yu shot him a sidelong look full of lazy disdain. “Jealous?”
The rival choked, then pressed on.
“Don’t you have any ambition in life?”
“My ambition,” Xie Yu answered shamelessly, “is to cling to my brother, make him love me, and make him unable to live without me.”
Then he leaned closer, teasing, “Don’t you want that too?”
The rival opened his mouth. “I…”
